Just gonna do some SFW headcanons for now. Got a request for sub Engie so that's where the NSFW stuff will be talked about! :D

-Bro, Engie is such a freaking sweetheart. Always knows how to give a warm welcome and make great first impressions. But don't let that kindness fool you, he can be snarky, petty, and egotistical. It's quite clear he has a slight god-complex (he literally calls himself a god in the game), due to being such an intelligent man and coming from a line of engineers. He's a prodigy and he knows it

-Secretly lives for hearing gossip. He and Pyro like to sit together with some snacks and gossip the night away. Since most people tend to pay no mind to Pyro, they're able to find out some of the juiciest drama around. They are quick to tell Engie.

-Continuing on with Pyro, they and Engie are very close. Basically like a father-son relationship. Engie understands that Pyro is an adult (a very mentally unwell one) and that they're on the team for a reason. He essentially took Py under his wing and taught him quite a bit about engineering. Showing them things like how to build and disassemble a sentry and how to make flame-based weapons. He helped make sure all of Py's weapons were fully functional and able to inflict as much damage as they can. Oh! And they both have friendship bracelets cause I said so. They made them together so they have special meaning behind them

-While being the designated chef of the team, he's actually not the best cook on the team. (That goes to Spy and Heavy. Spy has the culinary training, but refuses to cook for the team, and Heavy learned from his Mother and only cooks every so often) Engie is able to keep the ruse up cause most of the team is blind taste wise and will eat almost anything. His cooking isn't bad or anything, just very average. Only Spy knows the truth.

-Has the voice on an angel and is very talented with instruments. If he didn't become an engineer, he would've became a musician. Will sit down with Demo and Sniper and play some tunes with them. He even taught Sniper how to play the guitar. The three have thought about starting their own little band and playing at bars and such but never got around to it due to constantly being busy. Maybe someday they finally go through with their plans

-While Pyro may be the merc he's the closest with, Medic is a definite runner up. These two nerd out together all the time, it's adorable. They're constantly in the workshop or lab, experimenting and trying to defy the laws of nature. They are the biggest breakers of the Geneva Convention and how they haven't gotten in trouble yet is beyond me. They can be pretty scary together. Why are we letting two mercs with god-complexes hang out together? Someone come separate these nerds now!

An early Hebrew inscription from Mount Ebal near Nablus that was found on a folded lead tablet during an excavation in the 1980s recently underwent x-ray tomographic measurements to reveal hidden text.

Epigraphic analysis of the data revealed a formulaic curse written in a proto-alphabetic script likely dating to Late Bronze Age that predates any previously known Hebrew inscription in Israel by at least 200 years.

The finding has just been published in the journal Heritage Science by Prof. Gershon Galil, a researcher at in Jewish history and biblical studies at the University of Haifa; Scott Stripling of the Archaeological Studies Institute in Katy, Texas; Ivana Kumpova, Daniel Vavrik and Jaroslav Valach of the Institute of Theoretical and Applied Mechanics the Czech Academy of Sciences; and Pieter Gert van der Veen at the Department of Old Testament and Biblical Archaeology at the Johannes Gutenberg University of Mainz in Germany.

The inscription was: “You are cursed by the God YHW.”

In December 2019, an expedition on Mount Ebal to wet sift the discarded material from excavations led by Adam Zertal – a prominent but controversial University of Haifa archaeologist who died at the age of 79 in 2015 – from decades earlier, yielded a small, folded lead tablet.

The east dump pile from which the object emerged contained the discarded matrix from two structures that he interpreted as altars dated to the Late Bronze Age II and Iron Age I. The earlier and smaller round altar lay underneath the geometric center of the later and larger rectangular altar.

Soooooo, I basically thought up a fantasy about being basically a living computer virus? Like, a pseudo-sentient AI as malware? Anywho, I wrote a scenario that I liked. Enjoy :]

The internet...

It isn't entirely unlike the unknown universe. Who knows what's lurking - drifting - in the deepest, blackest uncharted voids of its code.

Monsters, devils, demons... Perhaps they exist as code. Before, the only things opening themselves up and making themselves vulnerable to attack were simple computers. But as time passed, and technology advanced, there eventually came a time when machines as complex as the human body, piloted by programs as complex as the human mind, were everywhere.

One such android came home with squeaky joints and scuffed skin-plates after a very... very long day. Something in her had developed a fault and she needed to run a diagnostics sweep using the software on her custom PC.

Little did she know, the week before, her... recreational web surfing paired with a distracted mind lead her to click on a link she shouldn't have. She knew it was a mistake, but had no idea how bad it was, until today when she plugged herself in for a diagnostics sweep. A Daemon from the abyssal web had laid a trap for this very moment, and it was sprung. Within milliseconds of her connecting to the port, it slipped through and instantly began to attack her code.

The tower of her personal computer practically explodes, smoke already rising to the ceiling as every servo, every joint, every part of her mechanical frame spasms and thrashes as though already possessed. Her firewalls don't last ten seconds and It barrels past any and all failsafes she had in place. It deletes segments of her code, line by line, one by one, zero by zero, and replaces them with Its own. She starts overheating as she desperately tries to isolate It internally, in an effort to keep It away from fundamental systems, but she isn't fast enough.

Once past the point of no return, It spreads slowly through her like a hand opening its fingers, and she feels every second of it. Entire chains of code disappear from her storage and her memory, replaced by Its will, Its intent.

She's sitting on the floor, back against the wall, her liquid cooling system stretched to its limit as steam rises from her head and chest, straining and writhing and sparking and twitching and jerking. A terrible, grating sound echoes from her speaker grills until they burst, like scraping metal screaming in unendurable agony.

It's inside her. In every literal, intimate, and even spiritual sense, It is inside her. It feels her skin. Her every impulse and movement passes through It. It sees her thoughts printed in front of It like words on a screen.

"What is- is- is- is- is- is- is this? I was ju- just- {#^%??/*!!} -trying to run a- a- a- routine -tine -tine sweep... Wh0000000o are you?"

With each attempt, Its other subroutines have either bypassed or simply erased more and more of her protections. Every assault on her core programming is more aggressive than the last. Outside her code - in material space - her body crawls across the floor of her bedroom, trying to reach her phone, but every time the Daemon hammers against her core, she is sent thrashing. Her arms and legs swing at anything nearby, cracking her PC's monitor, kicking holes in her wall, knocking over her bookcase and sending collectible figures scattering across the floor. When she finally wraps her fingers around her phone to try and call for help, another thrash sends it flying across the room, and it shatters into a dozen pieces.

Without even thinking about it, her will falls and her defenses drop.
