my fear about them not using the keep for datv (along with the fact that it allows for less variance in worldstate, but i do buy the excuse that a lot of that stuff won’t be relevant in a wider story set years later) is that the keep is going to be abandoned and/or deactivated, making it impossible to play any type of custom world state in inquisition

#mine #dragon age #i’m sure if they’re worried about server space it could be streamlined #like respectfully. no one cares about cammen and gheyna or slim couldry #some of that stuff is to be a user journal and if they really don’t want to maintain it. some of it could be eliminated ig #but there are still things that need to be there for inquisition. and i also don’t know if they could touch ANY of it without breaking it #i’m just a little paranoid because they just discontinued support for the xbox 360 store (where i first played inq) last month #and like i know that was at the end of that console’s run but still #the keep goes down often enough. i get a little worried #BUT ALSO I WANT TO SEE FEYNRIEL AND THAT FEELS LIKE SUCH A SPECIFIC PULL THAT IT WOULDNT BE ON THE LIST FOR DATV’S CARD SYSTEM

#ask #anon #hi anon. sorry that i used this opportunity to talk about the sims 2 console port #ive had this template made and didn't use it for much besides a few jokes to send to friends #but i think it's on par for Gelato to be this knowledgeable about one of his favourite games.#but yeah basically i grew up with the xbox version of Sims 2 and since the xbox was my brothers console. i didnt get to play it a whole lot #and years later i bought the sims 2 on PS2 and noticed a lot of slowdown on actions and stuff #and the golden bolt (i think thats their youtube name) did a video about the console ports of sims 1 & 2 games #and i was kinda confused hearing them talk about how the sims 2 only had one save file (on PS2) because the xbox version had like eight #and so that. paired with me looking through the cutting room floor page of the sims 2 #i was kinda curious to see if the xbox version really performed as bad as it does on the ps2 version #because the golden bolt was also talking about that in their coverage of the ports #and so like again. there's only two videos on youtube that I could find of the xbox version #and the ones uploaded by IGN run on the ps2 version. because of the fucking button prompts they show on screen #anyway. so like thankfully one of the only other xbox videos showcased making a sim. and it's. so much fucking faster than the ps2 version #like on the ps2 version. you'd select a hairstyle. wait 5-10 seconds. and then the hair changes and you get the ui element to customize it #press cancel and you wait 5-10 seconds to revert back to your previous hairstyle #on the xbox version though? it's so much fucking faster #i haven't checked gameplay of the gamecube version but ik that speedrunners use specifically just that version of the port?#im not sure why only because i havent done the research to check what's better about the gamecube version #granted. i have to get around to getting an original xbox controller at some point to prove it for myself that the xbox port runs the best #i know it probably wont be perfect due to the disk having a few scratches. but its gotta beat my ps2 copy #im also curious to see how many save files i used. because im almost certain i used like 6-7 of them #just because i kept creating new story modes with almost identical alien sims with mohawks #in my last playthrough. i think i broke that tradition and gave my sim a flatter haircut. i also forget if i made him an alien or not.#i havent played it in a year due to getting my computer and it taking up the space i used for my crt setup #anyway. hi anon. sorry about that. im happy you like Gelato :)#i genuinely love him so much ever since Helper sketched him up. like she absolutely nailed it. literally couldn't ask for anything better #and writing up stuff for him has honestly made me love him so much more #thank you for the ask anon!! :)

Another one of my golden oldie clips, this time during a race on F1 2020 (I think) with a bunch of awesome people that I used to race with in a league. Man I miss league racing sometimes. In this video I go from hero to zero with a pretty strong start, making up 5 places in half a lap, only to then bugger it all up (story of my life) by riding a curb, touching grass, and eventually spinning out. I was using my old "PWR Hamster" league racing name too. Suzuka holds a special place in my heart for many reasons, but I won't bore you all with them, so enjoy watching me go from fairly competent to a spectacular failure in under a minute XD

I was mostly emulating older consoles on pc actually. I was raised on piracy >:3

#I didn't have any of the current consoles at that time #I only got to play gamecube at my cousins' place #I had one friend with a ps2 #and have never even seen an original xbox in my life #at some point I bought an n64 second hand #and a year or so after the Wii released I got that for Sinterklaas which is like dutch Christmas but we do also have Christmas #in our family we just didn't give gifts for it #now that we're all adults we've stopped doing Sinterklaas and might give the occasional gift on Christmas #this year my sister got me the special edition of A Muppet Christmas Carol on DVD #which I already own fshfxsd #but the sentiment is nice<3

the gameboy advance sp is one of the best handhelds nintendo ever made if not one of the greatest of all time from any company and this is a hill I'm willing to die on

#playstation handhelds were too ahead of their time to really be appreciated #and the ds is fine but i think the ds peaked at the ds lite though you could make an arguement for the dsi xl #but the gba sp? it held a charge for forever was very portable was comfortable to hold had basic but practical controls #you could even adjust the screen brightness while in game which you couldnt do on other subsequent systems #without turning the ds off then back on and resetting the brightness. the 3ds brought that feature back but you still have to go to the menu #and ik people will be like ohhhhh the nintendo switch is so good though!#but consider: the gba could actually play madden games and the switch can't even do that #like if the little tiny baby gameboy could manage i think its great great great great whatever grandchild should be able to as well #hell even the wii could play madden. it just had shittier graphics than say the ps2 or xbox #though tbh i think the switch sucks as a handheld. switch lite is fine if you like having to replace your entire system #when inevitably the stupid built in joycons break. but as a handheld its basically a glorified 3ds without a camera. fine whatever #but the standard v1 and v2 and OLED? babygirl those are consoles. and not even particularly good ones at that #the wii u walked so the switch could trip and fall flat on its face and hide the injuries under Breath of the Wild colored bandages #ANYWAYS sorry for the rant ive been overdosing on cough syrup by accident because i read the dose thingy wrong!!! and im very sick atm #but also very happy to be done working at gamestop FOREVER!!! also sidenote but the best console atm is probably xbox series x or ps4 #ps5 is fine and even has good console exclusives but like. its just a glorified ps4 if im being honest. xbox one is evil #because xbox one has The Power Brick of Overheating and im scared of it. also it has too manh versions. one s one x WHATEVER give me a break #gray speaks

Here's another small compilation video featuring some old school Dead by Daylight action with the boys. Bickering like an old married couple with Ste (@adhstegaming), and generally being less than productive teammates for poor Aaron (Geigerland). ...I don't think Ste ever did get that apology either. Note: Once again there seems to be a slight issue with the audio slowly falling out of sync with the video that can be fixed by pausing the video, and jumping either behind or ahead by a few seconds before resuming play. For some reason my audio is also out of sync from the stream footage, so it seems like I react a little later than I actually did. Curse you, Twitch! *Shakes fist in a comedic rage*

Perhaps if I was more into games, you'd be right, especially since horror is a favored genre of mine. I happened to get much more invested in specifically rpg maker horror games instead, so this assumption is false.

I also never got into console gaming, mainly due to the fact that even when I did get consoles we never did spend money on any new games other than what my parents got initially. Also I never owned a playstation, lol.

(Fun fact, I originally picked up Undertale because my friend told me it had monsters and from just the opening cutscene alone I thought it was a horror game. Best false assumption of my life, lol)
