So wasn't expecting to make this Gaming Hot Take of the day but after reading this from Sony CFO Hiroki Totoki I gotta be honest I had to write something
Tumblr media
So look, I can kinda understand this stance in a very retrospective sense as he says "Fostered from the beginning." Playstation 1 in particular didn't really make a big distinction between its original IP and its Third Party IP. It's why you had Crash Bandicoot or Cloud Strife as basically the mascot of Playstation when both come from third parties. Compared to the likes of Mario and Sonic who were not only their console mascot, but company mascots respectively.
But by now, Playstation has an undeniable back catalogue of first and second IP that it can either revive or rerelease if need be. Like if we're looking at like multi entry series and not just one offs, by the PS2, Sony had:
Jak & Daxter
Twisted Metal
Ape Escape
Sly Cooper
MediEvil
Wild Arms
Dark Cloud
Everybody's Golf
God of War
Rachet and Clank
And by the PS3 we have
Infamous
Uncharted
Killzone
Resistance
Little Big Planet
Like Sony has their own catalogue that can stand on its own. Its not like they should be struggling now to play catch up.
Now if you read my recent Emio and Mages post, I am very well aware that in the age of modern gaming, a game doesn't get made without a team devoted to it. And with the rising production and time costs of making games, no company can release a hundred games and be profitable. So sadly some IP just do fall by the wayside in favor of others. Guerrilla Games isn't making Killzone anymore, because their efforts are spent on Horizon and Sucker Punch went from being the Sly Cooper guys to the Infamous guys, to now the Ghosts of Tsushima guys.
However, I feel like Sony has had some circumstances that compound this problem. Sony and Playstation are technically powerful machines-they want to fully utilize the hardware they're selling you for hundreds of dollars. It is their brand. However, the downside to this is because of this the rise in production costs, it's now taking much longer to make games that make use of the powerful hardware. We went from being able to release a full trilogy in a single generation to basically one. Its also made worse by the fact that Sony has been very active in shuttering studios and cutting costs. The biggest would be the loss of Sony Japan Studio, who were beloved for their more varied Japanese-y style games. It added flavor to the more Naughty Dog inspired games of the sixth and seventh generation. But now, Sony went all in on being that one big budget release that leaned more towards broader genres that could maximize the amount of sales like Uncharted, The Last of Us, Spider-Man, etc.
With this, a lot of mismanagement, its really made the PS5 era feel very sparse compared to the PS4. Now, I wanna stress this, I actually do not subscribe to the mentality "Playstation has no games." Playstation has tons of games beyond just their first party titles, some are exclusive like Final Fantasy 16, some are just way too powerful to be something that could be played on a switch like GTAV. Heck, I played Bomb Rush Cyberfunk on my PS5 and it's probably the game I've dumped the most time into this year. So yes, even if Playstation's first party offerings are few and far between, you're still capable of playing a lot of good games on this really expensive plastic box.
And maybe that's indicative of the fact that Playstation has always been about selling you the hardware on the basis of the hardware. Going back to the PS1, the main selling points was this was the haven for third parties after Nintendo really burned a lot of developers with the N64, and that this was a much more system than the N64. When you look at someone like Nintendo now, they're hardware is underpowered they live and die by the power of their software that only they can provide and no one else. But the playstation even if its not shooting out a new Jax & Daxter every year, they're still the place you can play something like Final Fantasy or Elden Ring at a really great clip. Perhaps Totoki was alluding to that reliance on hardware instead of software because in retrospect, they never really had that big homegrown system seller on playstation till the PS2 with things like God of War. And now fostering that, has made it hard to have that sort of Zelda or Halo that are so undeniably their companies IP and will move launch units.
But a reliance on just being the place where you can play games at a high fidelity, means that its still got competition from Xbox and PC. So Sony would have to offer a service the others don't and that can be software you find nowhere else. True story, I was genuinely conflicted about getting a PS5 or and Xbox X/S for my birthday because I knew I needed to at least have a strong machine to play with my switch. And ultimately I took PS5 because that was the console that would have God of War Ragnarok and Spider-Man 2. So yes, IP absolutely factors into purchases in my experience. And the fact that this generation Sony has really struggled to put out first party games, really makes that purchase factor feel so much thinner and thinner. When you know-you know Sony has loads of IP (Some that haven't left their respective console) that even a simple remaster on the PS5 could at least hold people over in-between their AAA releases. So to hear their CFO say that they don't have enough IP, gets very disingenuous.
To close this out, I wanna stress something. I don't think wanting to make new IP is a bad thing. Im glad Sony is willing to invest 8 years and millions of dollars into something new. But eventually, we reach a point where this has to be better managed. We have to have some smaller titles that can be released between the bigger ones. We gotta have some variation in the types of games we're getting from the platform holder. And sometimes leaning in on those fan faves for smaller titles would help. Are they gonna sell 10 million units? More than likely not. But if you balance the budget, having something move between 1-2 million units would be acceptable. Perhaps maybe allow more second party developers a crack at using that IP so your internal teams can work on the bigger blockbuster titles?
The PS5 generation has been a pretty all over the map one for Sony, and the more we learn about the thoughts and management behind the scenes, the more aggravating it can become when this platform does something really cool, but then seems to take two steps back. I genuinely can't tell you if I'll get a PS6. But if I do, it will probably not be out of optimism for classic Playstation franchises to return.

Monster Hunter platforms
So one of the best mutiplayer action game series of all time.
What platforms has it been on?
MH1 - PS2. Encouraged to connect a Keyboard and Mouse, but otherwise pretty ok, early multiplayer gameplay.
MH2/Dos - Another ps2 game, normal
MH Freedom, Freedom Unite, and Portable 3rd - PSP games. Third one never got an official western release. Niche console for a niche game series. Plenty powerful enough to do what needed to be done, but could've benefitted from the strength of the PS3.
Monster Hunter Tri/3 Ultimate - ...Wii U and 3ds. Why this game came out on Nintendo consoles, I don't know. Ask Bayonetta. The Wii U had more than enough strength but the 3ds is a clumsy console to play on.
Monster Hunter 4/4 Ultimate - 3ds only. Why. Why is this game only on the 3ds. this is meant to be the console version!
Monster Hunter Generations - 3ds, it's a portable game.
Monster Hunter Generations Ultimate - Switch?!?!?!?!?! Hello??? Why did you change the platform?? And why is this on the switch, but not Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate? I guess the Switch is still a portable console but it's really funny that this is on a home console and not 4U which is made by the "home console team".
The reason for this is because the 3ds at the time of 4 and 4U's release was doing waaaaaaaaaay better than the fricken Wii U. So they decided to say "fuck it" and pour their resources into the 3ds instead of the Wii U. Then the switch came out to a massive boom when GU was in development so they couldn't miss their opportunity to be one of the first games on the console.
Monster Hunter World - PS4, Xbox One, eventually PC. The first proper home console monster hunter since fricken 3 Ultimate. This one as far as I know is not available on Switch. It can be played on PS5 etc via backwards compatibility.
Monster Hunter Rise - ...Switch. And originally, none of the other consoles! The reason for this is because it was the "portable" game (again on a portable home console). But it was doing successfully enough on Switch that it eventually got ported to everything and is now the most accessible monster hunter game of all time, being out on the previous generation of home consoles and the current generation, as well as PC.
Monster Hunter 6 - It's anticipated this one will be available on the PC and Xbox Series X and PS5, it's possible it'll be on the Switch successor as a launch or early release game. I don't see it coming on the Switch because the console could barely handle Rise which was tailored to it, but they'd be foolish to rule it out of the next nintendo console completely. Of course it's possible Nintendo will fuck up again and we have a Wii U situation on our hands where nobody buys it.

very interested in your console/game collection actually, if you wanna talk about that 👀
Yo! Yes, yes! I’d love to. 🥰 This post is prettyyyy long, but this is for what I currently have. But I can totally go over past buys too. I’ve honestly had quite a bit more than this. Just let me know.
Consoles: ps5, ps3, ps2, wii(/gamecube since it’s backwards compatible), and the 3ds xl I mentioned
Games are pretty standard so this isn’t inclusive but here’s some of my rares/unusuals are:
ps2: Burnout, The Dog Island (my childhood omg), SSX Tricky, We ❤️ Katamari (I just realized I don’t have Katamari Damacy but I also realized I know why…oof…maybe someday I’ll buy it again LOL)
Those are all mostly nostalgia games for me from stealing the console from my brothers 🥰
ps3: The Simpsons Game, Yakuza Dead Souls, Nier, Puppeteer, Journey Collector’s Edition, Hitman HD Trilogy
ps4, I’ll include all steelbooks: Hitman Complete First Season Steelbook, Dragon Quest XI (Definitive Edition), Final Fantasy XV Deluxe Edition Steelbook (probably the most gorgeous thing I own, I’ll add a picture at the bottom of this post), Yakuza remastered collection box set (with a freaking Y5 ps3 box lmao it’s empty but so sick…I actually have another remastered copy but it’s just the ps4 box with all the games), steelbooks for both kiwamis and LAD, and the essence of art edition of Y6 (phew, this was a lot lol)
Wii/GameCube: Pikmin (New Play Editions for Wii), Kirby’s Epic Yarn, Kirby’s Return to Dreamland, Super Mario Galaxy 1 and 2, Kirby’s Dream Collection (the special edition/20th Anniversary thing), Animal Crossing GC and City Folk, PokePark 1, and Mario Party 4 and 8 (my two ultimate faves)
DS/3DS: Kirby Super Star Ultra, Super Princess Peach, Fantasy Life, Poochy and Yoshi’s Wooly World, Kirby’s Extra Epic Yarn, Pokemon Ultra Moon
and that’s about it for current consoles and games!
I also have the Yakuza 0 record collection and Cuphead OST records. The Cuphead is at my parents house cuz I basically forced my dad to listen to it since I needed his opinion (he’s a huge jazz fan so his opinion is so vital 😂). But I do have the Y0 set to show off.
Final Fantasy XV Steelbook:

I'm glad I'm not the only one who remembers ape escape. It's a vastly underrated series with a banging soundtrack. The first 2 ape escape games have been released on PS4 and ps5 , though I'm keeping my fingers cross for a new game or a remake. Long Live Ape escape 🐒
To be fair, the only reason why i remember Ape Escape was that I went looking into it when I was a young adult. I never really had the chance to play the games since I never hd the Playstation, the PS2 nor the PS3 when I was younger.

My first console was a PS2. It could play PS2 games and was backwards compatible with PS1 games. It was even a dvd player too, a selling point at the time as it meant buying 1 electronic was like getting a dvd player, PS1, and a PS2 all at once. I loved that console (still do), and I was chomping at the bit to play it, basically constantly.
My second console was a PS3. I got an early one, meaning it was prone to the fan blowing on high all the time, but also it could play PS1 and PS2 games (I believe due to a built in PS2 emulator? Citation needed I guess). Buying a PS3 was really like owning the future since it could play 3 generations of PlayStation games. It also was the first (and for a long time only) Blu-ray player we owned. Still a great deal.
I also bought a PS4 when it came out. It could only play PS4 games, a letdown after the previous consoles, but it was good. It felt modern, it felt powerful, it felt like maybe consoles were plateauing. This was as good as they were going to get for a long time.
It’s an indictment of the way things have been going that several years in I have yet to buy a PS5. Why would I? There’s basically 2 games that are exclusive to it that I would want to play. I think it might be able to play some or all PS4 games? My interest has been next to zero since it released.
Console gaming isn’t dead; far from it, but also I’ve seen less and less return on investment from consoles. Why buy a PS5 for 2 games? My PS3 still works and it’s got 3 entire game libraries it can play. What’s the point?

2. The Mysterious Figure and the City: A very good story about the character known as "The Mysterious Figure", this was written by Scott Thomas Penn. It's the perfect mix between a comedy and a horror, and I also cried at the end.
1. Fun City: The First Game: Written by Scott Thomas Penn, this is an interesting story about how Draculant is going to be made a game, and it's so good. The characters and writing are amazing.

"Everyone has gone to Funny City. Fun City is a wonderful place."
FUN CITY 3'S PROMOTIONAL TRAILER IS NOW FINISHED.
"Fun City 3 will be out in 2017."
CREDITS ROLL.
"THANK YOU FOR PLAYING FUN CITY. ENJOY FUNNY CITY."
The door to the laboratory opens and Clio walks out of the room with his suitcase.
"Maybe it's time to move on?" Clio says.
"Yeah." I say and I close the story and go to bed.
"We have fun here." Dominic says.
"That is why we must move on." Ryu says.
"I want to live in a different fun city." Dominic says.
Everyone's wishes come true, but I don't have to think about them anymore. I will never ever have to think about them ever again.
It's my favorite fun city story. Because it has an ending. And this is is. Good night fun city. Good night Ryu. Good night Dominic. Good night Draculant. Good night Mr slime. Good night Mr tumnus. Good night the mysterious figure. Good night the giant. Good night the wheel. Good night pet mouse. Good night mr tumnus. Good night the concierge. Good night the bartender. Good night the giant. Good night the wheel. Good night pet mouse. Good night the mysterious figure. Good night mr tumnus. Good night the concierge. Good night the bartender. Good night the giant. Good night the wheel. Good night the mysterious figure. Good night the concierge.
THE END (FOR ME)
I turn off the computer and go to bed. I have had enough fun to last a lifetime.
THE END.

The Final Fantasy VII Remake is 50% off in the Playstaion store right now. So I bought it.
I’ve been thinking about getting it for a while, and I was more of the side of not, because I don’t know that I’m going to like this kind of gameplay, and I couldn’t justify paying full price for an experience I’m not going to like.
But I’m okay with paying 50% for an experience I might not like. I’m hoping I do like it, because it’s a very popular game and people seem to really enjoy it, but who knows.

Man I'm torn. Cause like... my PS4 is giving me issues. And it is a couple years old, but consoles should have a longer shelf life than 4 years. They used to. But now everything is bad. I can't even get a PS5 cause they're like fucking cryptid sightings a whole TWO YEARS after launch. And I don't even really want a PS5 right now. I still have so many PS4 games I wanna play. And if I do get a PS5 I wanna keep the PS4 of course, cause I still wanna play it. I still have my PS3 hooked up, cause I bounce around a TON of consoles.
Currently I'm playing stuff on Wii, GameCube, GBA, PS2/3/4, not to mention emulators. I'm busy. And I don't wanna get rid of my PS4. But its not acting right and I don't know if its just cause its old or if Sony is fucking with me to make me buy a console that ISN'T IN STOCK. Like I'm not being stubborn this time, IT'S OUT OF MY CONTROL.
I wanna buy a new PS4. Cause currently, I'm experiencing an issue where all of a sudden my PS4 stops connecting to ANYTHING. It disconnects me from parties, from PSN, from the internet, and also disconnects all my controllers. And I can't connect any controllers until I fully power off the console and turn it back on. Its really frustrating. It doesn't happen all the time, but I'm not sure what triggers it. I can play most games fine, but I've noticed that it does it when I stream games off PS+ (formerly Playstation Now). And its like... why am I paying for this service if the games fucking brick my console?? And I don't wanna stop paying for it cause a TON of games come free with it, I think its a good service (not as good as Game Pass from what I hear, but I'll be cold and dead in the ground before I recognize Xbox). So is it worth it? I doubt ALL PS4 consoles are on the way out, that doesn't make sense to me. And there's a LOT of games on PS4 that aren't on PS5 (at least i think, that claim was made without research, I'm at work, get off my back).
Point is: My PS4 is being fucky. I still wanna play PS4 games. I wanna buy another PS4, cause they're like half the price of the PS5, and PS5's aren't available rn. I'm feeling feelings rn about it, and I'm at register at my job rn, and there's like nothing happening rn so I have the time and this post is stimulating my brain enough to keep me not bored. If you've read this, thanks! If you have any advice on this, let me know!

I'm assuming you're aware of the overhaul that's been done/coming to PlayStation Plus, which adds new tier levels, with the most expensive one (£100 here) being the one that allows you to download titles from PS1 to PS4 and PSP, and honestly, I don't get why they didn't just slowly renew licenses and fees and let people who bought PS1 and PS2 games on PS3/PSP just move them PS4/5, I mean, it's kind of a joke that a high-end system like the PS5 can't play PS1 games.
I don't really follow much about Sony as I haven't had a Sony system since the PS3, so that's all news to me.

Thank you, @curmudgeonness, for exploiting my weaknesses! XD
favorite game from the last 5 years? Well this one’s obvious. :P
Tumblr media
Lookit Geralt & Ciri, deliberating over who gets to kill which boss. Parenting done right. ^_^
most nostalgic game?  ‒ Legend of Dragoon -- that was the first RPG I ever played. <3
Tumblr media
game that deserves a remaster/sequel?  ‒ LEGEND OF DRAGOON. If FF7 can get one, the LoD sure as heck needs one! It’s been 84 almost 20 years. REALLY cool game; the story & lore was one of the best I’ve ever played through, and the combat was addictive; it was advanced for turn-based systems.
favorite game series?  ‒ Final Fantasy. Yes, even with them hobbling around on one foot after shooting the other one off with that FF15 tripe, they’re still my favorite franchise. U_U But Square Enix really needs to get its act together.
favorite genre? ‒ Medieval swords and sorcery RPG. If there’s no dragons, no thank you. With very few exceptions. At least have some mythical creatures.
least favorite genre?  ‒ Realistic/modern day games, military games, sci-fi shooters (like Halo, and even Mass Effect to a certain degree), and all first person games (which is why it took me a long time to get into Skyrim -- thank goodness for 3rd person mods).
favorite song from a game? ‒ The Witcher soundtrack... Maaaan...! And not just TW3, oh no! I’m talking the entire thing: TW1, TW2, AND TW3.
youtube
youtube
youtube
Listen to ALL THREE OF THEM, I command you!
favorite character from a game? My video game Harem of Hawtness.
favorite ship from a game? ‒ Why, Fahrenheit and Celsius, of course!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Final Fantasy has all the best airships, don’tchaknow!
favorite voice actor from a game? ‒ Don’t really have one; there are a bunch of JRPGs I play where there’s minimal to zero voice acting, or it’s all in Japanese and I mostly can’t understand what they’re saying anyways. :P
favorite cutscene? ‒ Hands down Final Fantasy X had me all effed up -- people keep wailing about Sephiroth & Aerith in FF7, but nope, that was fine. FFX was relentless on the feels though. That ending!? Wasn’t a dry eye anywhere in the community, BET.
Tumblr media
favorite boss?  ‒ The easy ones to kill. People talk about Dark Souls bosses being impossible to beat, but I’m STILL having conniptions over how the EFF to take down the hidden bosses in numerous Final Fantasy games. Rigga morris, I tell you! #RageQuit
first console?  ‒ Playstation
current console or consoles?  ‒ PS3 and PS4. I still play on my PS2. My PS1 broke though. :(
console you want?  ‒ PS5. :P
place from a game that you’d like to visit?  ‒ I was not prepared for how GORGEOUS the realms in God of War 2018 are! Like...ermagawd.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I can’t wait to see what Asgard & Vanaheim will look like in the sequel.
place from a game that you’d like to live in?  ‒ FF12′s Ivalice. I love how FF12 was a mix of Medieval, Middle Eastern, Scifi, and Steampunk, all at once.
Tumblr media
I would say FFX’s Spira, but with Sin running around and mess....pass. XD
ridiculous crossover that would never happen but would be super fun?  ‒ The Witcher and Skyrim. >:D CDPR & Bethesda -- DO IT.
book that would make a good game?  ‒ The Dragonlance Series. I’ve BEEN wanting that franchise made into a video game, not just D&D or Magic, etc.
Tumblr media
show/movie that would make a good game? ‒  That’s never a good idea -- so many movies have those video game releases that always just fail. U_U Even Harry Potter started to suck. Like...how do you eff up Harry Potter!?
games you want to play?  ‒ CDPR’s upcoming Cyberpunk 2077.
have you gotten 100% completion in a game?  ‒ Only when I cheat. Thanks, Gamefaqs & Youtube~! ^___^ I remember when games came with manuals -- some were thick, just loaded with helpful info. And there was a number you could call with a hotline to get cheats and tips. I’d call, too! XD
have you cried over a game?  ‒ Every time I finish a game, I tear up a little. It’s the best and worst feeling in the world, being immersed in a game WORLD, and then having it all come to an end. Especially when the ending is done oh so right, and all those emotions just hit you, like dang. That was an experience.
what power-up or ability would you want in real life?  ‒ I made a whole Magical Girl post about this. Went on a whole Final Fantasy job class ramble. Good times.
I tag everyone!

Latest ps3 bios
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The best thing about this is that it’s 100% legal, and you get incredible “emulation” out of it, even if its not an actual emulator. Simply connect a bluetooth controller to your PC (it can be a PS controller too), sync up your Playstation Now account and wallah, you have PS3 games on your PC! PS Now has a library of over 800 games including PS2, PS3, PS4 and PS5 games. Well, hear me out, this is one of the best ways to play PS3 games on your PC. You’re probably thinking “Brandon, why is Playstation Now on this list?”. The controller will show up, you click on which button you want to map, press the key on your keyboard, and you’re ready to insert the disc.
Tumblr media
Once you have downloaded it you can begin setup by mapping your keys in its very useful and easy to use configuration tab. Just remember to check the required specs below before downloading. It will run your PS3 exclusive titles at native graphics without any audio stuttering, frame rate drops or glitches. ESX is written in C++ and uses a decompiled PS3 XMB kernel in order to archive native emulation of PS3 games.īut because it’s in beta, the ESX PS3 emulator is limited to running only PS3 exclusive games. ESX EmulatorĮSX is another one of the best PS3 emulators, even if it’s still in beta. All they ask is that you support them on Patreon for a bit in order to keep food on their tables. This is the best PS3 emulator you can get, and it’s free. Their website looks professional, the team are incredibly supportive and the emulator allows you to do the basics like save, add cheats, load states and so on. Overall it’s a pleasant gaming experience, it does what it’s meant to do very well.
Microsoft Visual C++ 2015 Redistributable.
GPU – OpenGL 4.3 or greater, Vulkan is recommended.
You may be wondering why we’re only featuring three, and that’s because these are the only ones that work well, and won’t give you a virus when downloaded. Now, let’s take a look at three of the best PS3 emulators around. RetroDodo does not recommend downloading ROM’s illegally. You should only be using ROM files of games you physically own and/or have the rights to. Current day smartphones cannot handle PS3 games as of writing this article that’s the cold hard truth folks!ĭownloading emulators is legal, but the shady part is where you source your ROM files from (the video game files). This is simply due to the high processing power needed in order to emulate these games efficiently. Emulators can be used on PC, Android Smartphones, Macs and more, but unfortunately for, you the best PS3 emulators only work on Windows PC’s. The gaming community are always after the next best thing at their fingertips, and for many, that’s the best PS3 emulators.įor those new to emulation, emulators are basically a piece of software that enables you to play video game files.

why does console generational discourse bring out the absolute worst humans
I have an xbox one and plan to buy a ps4 and switch when I have the financial ability to. when I was little I had a nintendo 64 and a ps1 for a brief period of time. but I spent my formative years, my adolescence, with a gamecube and a ps2. then I briefly had a ps3. and when I was an older teenager I had an xbox 360.
regardless.
the nes/5200/colecovision began the 90s and modern video gaming as we know it today
Mario. Zelda. Kirby. Metroid. Contra. Castlevania. Earthbound. these are the games that Gen X played. this is the gen x console generation.
the genesis/commodore/7800/snes capped off the 80s and ushered in the 90s
I can guarantee even some millennials don’t remember some of these but that’s probably because the 7800 and commodore weren’t that great. but everyone knows the super nintendo and sonic. no matter how old you are. toddlers today know about the super nintendo and sonic. but these is still the console generation that is specifically associated with millennials.
the 64/jaguar/saturn/ps1/3d0/amiga/neogeo in the 90s
if you’ve never heard of half of these you’re not a fucking millenial. atari sega commodore and SNK haven’t really made a console since then and it’s because they weren’t great consoles with good libraries and that’s why they fell into obscurity and failure. but at the time they were beloved, and still are. sega consoles were the lifeblood of millennials, not zillenials. and so was 3d Mario, 3d Zelda, goldeneye, donkey kong, banjo, resident evil, silent hill, metal gear solid, symphony of the night, final fantasy 7, crash, spyro… yes you’ve probably played these if you’re a zillenial or zoomer but that’s because these games are all classics beloved by everyone but in these cases you’re an adult or teen going back in time. you were not a literal actual child who remembered a time when these games didn’t exist. this is the console generation that is associated with millennials and zillenials.
dreamcast the awkward one in the late 90s, rip, only remembered by millennials and the lucky few zillenials who had parents or older siblings who had them
ps2/gamecube/xbox1 in 2000
the older half of zillenials and some millennials who happened to have money and like video games who bought these as adults but didn’t spend their childhoods with them, had these. smash, halo, kotor, half life 2, god of war, okami, shadow of the colossus, the wind waker, games that NEWSFLASH, EVERYONE LOVES REGARDLESS OF WHAT GENERATION THEY’RE FROM. literally everybody had one of these. but that doesn’t change the fact that they’re still specifically associated with zillenials because it came out during our childhood. not millennials. zillenials.
ps3/xbox360/wii in the mid-2000s and early 2010s
the younger half of zillenials grew up with skyrim, bioshock, modern warfare, resident evil 4 HD, all classics nowadays but at the time they were all so far beyond technological breakthroughs they blew everyone’s mind. and zoomers were all either a) not alive or b) in diapers for the first half, and actual children in the second half. which means that this is the console generation that is most associated with them. not the prior: this one. not millennials.
wiiU/ps4/xboxOne/switch in the mid to late 2010s
the transition between zillenial and gen z is a blurred line but it takes place in the 2010s so the older gen z and/or gen z with older siblings and the younger zillenial and/or zillenial with younger siblings are gonna be the ones most associated with bloodborne, breath of the wild, splatoon, overwatch, and stardew valley. except zillenials and millennials also play those games. fucking oops.
ps5/xbox X in the 2020s
the generation after gen z is gonna grow up in 2020 and on, so the ps5/xbox X is going to be mostly associated with them because they’re the ones growing up in a world where elden ring, bugsnax, and starfield have always existed
the buffer generation between millenial and zoomer is a separate entity with some overlap, and until you get that through your thick fucking skull there’s no point being an insufferable ass to content creators online because your personal definition of what generation you identify as is different than their definition, besides being a dick.

Happy Gaming World is one of the best PlayStation 5 sellers in India
Sony’s PlayStation 5 is here to change the way we perceive and play games. This next-gen console along with Microsoft’s Xbox Series X has been the talk of the town since its launch last year. Speaking of which, we have also covered some blogs on all the specs and other aspects of the Xbox Series X, click here to check them out. With this blog we dive into why you should buy the all-new Sony PlayStation 5 console and why should you buy the same from us.
Sony has launched two different variants of the PS5 console- PS5 with a 4K Blu-ray drive and the Digital Edition PS5. They vary in price and a bit in appearance. The latter is a bit slimmer than its brother console. However, the basic differences between the two are the disc drive that is available with the 4K Blu-ray drive version and not with the Digital one. And another is the price point. The former being a bit expensive as compared to the latter.
Successfully powered by a custom AMD Radeon RDNA 2-based GPU and a custom eight-core AMD Zen 2 CPU, this powerful console is capable of exerting 10.28 teraflops of extreme and raw power. With the help of variable frequencies on both the console’s CPU and GPU, the graphics are pushed to run a bit clearer and faster.
The storage of this new Sony PlayStation 5 console is another plus point to get excited over. With an impressive 825GB storage, the console has changed the gaming scene forever. The console can push up to 5.5GB/s of throughput. Now this allows or rather we should say gives the games developers absolute freedom to design ample levels without worrying about the prolonged loading time. The PS5 before its launch claimed that the load times of a lot of game titles were significantly reduced, especially compared to the load times of PS4. And true to their word, the difference in load times of many game titles has been staggering.
We at HG World ourselves decided to test this claim. And there was only one way to do it. Play the games ourselves and check the power of this new age console. For example, when we played Death Stranding on both the PS4 and Sony PlayStation 5 console and compared the loading times of both, we noticed that the PS4 took approximately 1 minute 50 seconds whereas it took approximately 55 seconds on the PS5. Similarly, we played another popular title on both the consoles- Genshin Impact. The adventure game took around 2 minutes and 57 seconds to load on the PS4 whereas it took 59 seconds on the PS5. That’s literally cutting approximate two-third of PS4’s loading time. Impressive, isn’t it?
The backwards comp ability of this console is another thing everyone is excited over. Almost all PS4 games (approximately 4000 PS4 games) along with a few selective PS3 and PS2 titles can be played on this super powerful console. Sony adopted this new change to rival with ‘Xbox Pass’ another impressive service by Microsoft. Xbox Pass works on a subscription basis very much similar to Netflix subscription where you can access the Xbox games on Xbox as well as on a laptop.
However, the most next-gen and exclusive thing the game making giant introduced with this launch is the DualSense Controller. Now we have covered numerous articles where we have compared the two consoles- Xbox series X and PS5, we have covered the features of PS5 in detail, we have spoken about why you should buy a PS5 and we have also fangirled about the various PS5 games both exclusives and third-party available and in-line for release. But the point that stood out the most of all these was the innovative controller. Its haptic feedback and adaptive triggers have enhanced every gamer’s gaming experience.
Availability
The pandemic changed a lot of things with the worldwide lockdown in place. Naturally, this affected the game manufacturing industry as spare parts became scarcely available. This led to a worldwide shortage of Sony PlayStation 5 consoles. Getting hands-on these became extremely difficult. But as the phrase goes ‘the show must go on’, we at HG World became more motivated and driven to get you this high demand product. Since its launch, we have been importing the PS5 from foreign distributors non-stop. The prices and offers on these authentic products are something we proudly boast about.
A one-year warranty with free pick-up and drop service just adds to the overall reliability factor we possess. As fellow gamers ourselves we understand your desire and need to indulge in the adventurous world with absolutely no worry about the quality and price of your gaming product and accessories. We believe in mutual trust and being a part of this community for years has given us several opportunities to give you our best and earn your trust in the process. So, visit our website today and invite your very own shiny PS5 to your abode for amazing and epic gaming sessions. Happy shopping!
Check PS5 here.
