It had been quite a while since she'd last seen Amycus. At least that is what it felt like, with a whole world of events and happenings between then and now. The moment her ears heard the ringing of the shop bells the brunette rushed down to see who it was, a part of her desperately hoping that it was her friend. Amycus Carrow, the sight of him alone was a relief. The grin that spread across her face, the smile even reaching her eyes as she waved him over. "Come on. We'll go upstairs. I do have some things to share, souvenirs if you will."

Of course, how could she have gone to Italy, Venice of all places and come back without so much as a gift for her friends. Amycus was too important not to, and somehow the witch felt this would be the one place without judgement and perhaps the tiniest escape from reality. The world may have been chaos, unwanted at that but never this, never her friend. "Tell me, how've you been?" Part of her felt bad for the surprise trip to Venice, another wondered if this was just a part of being an adult.

Val had seen Amycus walk in with not just one date but two dates. People had checked it out for a second but then had gone on with their conversations. Meanwhile she was being looked at like she had kicked a dog or something. Annoyance was slowly growing inside of her throughout the night. But the man she was approaching right now was not responsable for that. With two glasses of champagne, Val made her way over to her former betrothed and she held out one for Amycus. “I’m being replaced by not one new date but two, look at you go Amycus. I’m actually a little proud of that.” She raised her glass at him before taking a sip of the liquid. “How have you been after everything got called off?”

An owl had been sent the night before, requesting her brother to come for a visit, finding the need to have a conversation with him. They had not spoken much since the ending of his betrothal to Valeria and their parents shifting their attention on her. She did not like it and wished for him to fix it.

Alecto felt her wards, leaving the living area to meet her brother in the foyer. A faint smile on her lips.

"Amycus, thank you for coming." She turns to walk down the hall. "Are you hungry?"

Alara left her sister's home in a fury, a bottle of wine in hand, needing out. She couldn't breathe. It felt like the world was crushing on her. The words kept playing in her head that Miray was betrothed to Rabastan. Not grasping the reality, considering her sister knew how she felt about the wizard. Was everyone so hell bent in her family to take those she cared about away from her? Was she projecting the hurt that happened five years ago, along with tonight, most definitely. It also showed her that even her siblings wouldn't fight for her. That at the end of the day, she only had herself.

Not wanting to go home, she found purchase on the curb outside some random shop, she cared not to look, finishing the bottle of wine. A part of her wished to cry, but the tears would not form, held in from the years she forced herself to do so. She places the bottle down, catching the sound of footsteps, turning to look who was coming in her direction.

"I hope you have a bottle of wine with you." She calls out, desperate for another bottle to drown her sorrows in, wanting to numb the pain she was feeling.

She walked over with his drink of choice and her champagne in her hand. "Are you enjoying yourself?" She couldn't help but wonder if he was going to take both home with him tonight and that her sweet Emmeline could be that scandalous.
