616-Champions!Scott Meets X-MenMovies!Scott
I like to think that they find Baby Cyclops while he's trying to hijack the X-Men's spy jet. Maybe alone, but if Gabby's there too, it would also be funny. Adult Scott finds him, obviously, and the interaction goes like-
X-Men/Adult!Scott: Alright, got you now, you little... what the hell. Champs/Teen!Scott, turning to look at him from the pilot seat: I... can explain? X!Scott: Are you me?! C!Scott: Something like that. I'm you. But from simultaneously eighteen years in the future, and ten years in the past. X!Scott: ... C!Scott: And also I'm from a parallel reality. Forgot to mention that. Logan, barging onto the plane: What's taking you so long, Scott...s. What the fuck.

Chapter 12: The Attack
I was running through a forest. I don’t know what I was running from. But it wasn’t anything good. Two children, a boy and a girl, who looked like a mixture of Logan and me, appeared. They stood not far from me.
“You left us...” The girl said.
“Why did you leave us, mom?” The boy asked.
Tears dropped from my eyes. I shook my head. “No, it was not like that. I can explain--”
“Explain what? You abandoned us, when we needed you!” The girl retorted. “Do you know what we’ve become?”
I watched as the scarlet beams surrounded the girl as she was lifted up in the air. The boy quickly spun around the girl with silver beams around the girl. I stared in awe. They’re like my brother, Peter, and my sister, Wanda.
My eyes shot open. I looked around to see I was back in the room in the mansion with Logan beside me on our bed. He was stirring in his sleep. My heart clenched. He was probably having a nightmare. I gently placed a hand on his shoulder, trying to wake him up.
“James...”
He let out a gasp. His metal claws extended out. But I quickly used my powers to gently push it away before they could hurt me. Logan looked around the room. His eyes landed on me. He looked worried as he looked at my body, inspecting for any cuts. “Did I hurt you?”
“No.” I replied. “I was able to stop it with my powers.”
Logan let out a sigh. He leaned his forehead against mine, remaining silent. He then pulled away, placing a kiss on my forehead.
“Nightmare?” I said.
Logan nodded. Maybe all we need is a walk through the mansion. Besides we should check on the students.
“Why don’t we take a walk?” I suggested.
Logan agreed, taking my hand in his. We walked out into the corridors and in one of lounges, we saw a boy watching tv, using his eyes to change the channels. Wow, that’s cool.
“Can’t sleep?” The boy said, keeping his eyes on the tv.
“How can you tell?” Logan asked.
“Cause you’re both awake.” The boy replied, glancing at us.
I chuckled. Logan nodded. “Right.”
“Well, what about you?” I replied.
“I don’t sleep.” The boy said, turning back to look at the tv.
That must be awful. Logan gently pulled on my hand, urging me to follow him. We walked down endless corridors until we reached the kitchens, finding Bobby eating a pint of ice cream.
“Hey. Doesn't anybody sleep around here?” Logan asked. “Apparently not.” Bobby replied. “Got any beer?” Logan said, opening the fridge.
“Logan, this is a school.” I retorted. “So that's a no?” Logan asked.
“Yeah, that's a no." Bobby said. “Got anything other than chocolate milk?” Logan asked. “There should be some soda in that small cupboard.” Bobby replied, pointing to the cupboard with his head.
Logan took out two bottles of soda, handing one to me. I gave him a smile and a thanks. Logan glanced over Bobby, handing him the bottle. Bobby let out a puff of cold air, freezing the bottle. “Thanks.” Logan said.
“No problem.” Bobby replied.
Logan and I sat on some stools across from Bobby. It wasn’t long until Logan spoke. “So how long have you been here?”
“A couple of years.” Bobby said.
“And your parents just sent you off to a mutant school?” Logan asked.
“Actually, my parents think this is a prep school.” Bobby explained.
Logan nodded. “Oh, I see. I suppose lots of prep schools have their own dorms.”
“Campuses, even.” I added.
“And jets.” Bobby said.
“So you and Rogue, huh?” Logan asked, changing the subject.
“Yeah. It's not what you think. I'd like it to be, but it's just…” Bobby rambled on.
Logan gave him a confused look, raising an eyebrow. Bobby sighed. “It's just that it's not easy...When you wanna be closer to someone...but you can't.”
My heart clenched. Logan then stood up, looking alert as he looked around. I raised an eyebrow. “What is it?”
“Shh, shh.” Logan warned.
He extended a hand out to me. He then walked out of the room. Bobby and I exchanged a look. We walked out towards the window to see helicopters heading towards us.
Bang! Bobby and I turned around to see a soldier in a chokehold by Logan. He tried struggling, but Logan was stronger.
“You picked the wrong house, bub.” He warned.
All of the sudden, we heard a loud shrieking yell. I cried, covering my ears. The soldier fired many bullets towards us. Bobby and I quickly hid behind the counter, dodging the bullets. Once the yell was gone, I peeked up from the counter to see Logan struggling against the soldier.
I saw the soldier take out a knife. I lifted my hands, using my powers. I forced the knife back, surprising the soldier. The knife continued to go back until it pierced his side. Logan took advantage, taking out his claws, impaling him. He then turned around, looking at me, worried.
“You all right?” Logan asked.
“Yeah. You?” I said.
Logan nodded. “Yeah.”
He then looked at Bobby, who nodded, letting know he was all right. We then left the kitchens, entering the corridors. We saw many soldiers, holding rifles and flashlights, scanning the mansion.
“Stay here.” Logan urged.
“I can help.” I said.
Logan turned towards me, opening his mouth to protest. I placed a hand on his shoulder.
“We can fight. Together.” I said.
Eventually, Logan came around, nodding. Together, we ran towards the soldiers. Logan used his claws to take on the soldiers, while I used my powers, using their own weapons against them. Logan and I fought side by side.
They fired darts at Logan and me, but I used my powers before they reached us, sending them back to some of the soldiers, knocking them out. As we ran through the corridors, we came across the boy with glasses, who couldn’t sleep. He was laid out on the ground with a dart in his neck. Logan scooped him up. We ran down another corridor, finding Colossus guiding the students through a hidden passage.
“Hey. Take him. He's stunned.” Logan explained. “I can help you.” Colossus said.
“Help them.” Logan urged. We then took off to fight the rest of the soldiers. As we continued fighting, we saw some soldiers corner Rogue, Bobby, and John. Logan used his claws, piercing the soldiers, while I grabbed one of their guns with my powers, shooting them down in less than ten seconds. Once they were all dead, we turned to the teens.
“Let’s go.” Logan advised.
Bobby lead us to the secret passage. As soon as they walked inside, Logan closed the door behind them. Rogue shouted out. “Logan! Lorna!”
Many soldiers approached us, pointing their rifles at us. Logan extended out his hands, revealing his claws. “You wanna shoot me? Shoot me!”
“Don't shoot him! Not yet.” A man with glasses ordered, slowly walking towards us. “Wolverine? Polaris? Well, I must admit, this is certainly the last place...I'd expect to find you. How long has it been? Fifteen years? You both haven't changed one bit. Me, on the other hand—Nature.”
“Let’s just kill him and join the others.” I retorted.
I don’t care who he is. He attacked Charles’s mansion, for that he’ll pay. A vicious grin grew on the man’s face. “You can. But don’t you want to know about your children? Wendy and Pete Howlett?”
I stared at him, baffled. How did he know they’re names? Were they alive? Did this man have them? Logan was just as surprised as I was. But he put his claws away. I raised an eyebrow. “What have you done?”
“I’ve made them into the powerful woman and man they are now. They’re my servants.” He man laughed.
I let out a growl, taking a step towards him. Logan grabbed my arm, keeping me from doing something reckless. I looked back at him, and he shook his head.
“I didn't realize Xavier was taking in animals, even animals as unique as you both.” The man continued. “Who are you?” Logan asked. The man chuckled. “Don't you remember?”
“Stryker! Let me go!” I cried out, feeling something enter my bloodstream. “No! No!” Logan shouted.
I looked around to find an ice wall in front of us. Logan slammed his hands against the wall. But it didn't nothing. Stryker’s silhouette stood on the other stood. His hand was pressed against the wall. Logan lifted a hand over his.
“Logan, Lorna, come on. Let's go. Lorna. Logan.” Rogue called out.
“Go! We’ll be fine.” Logan urged. “But we won't.” Rogue retorted.
I glanced over at Logan. Who knows how many soldiers there were. And as much as I’d like to kill Stryker, he has our kids. I nodded. “Go. Keep going.” Logan urged.
We followed them down the long corridor. We reached the garage, which was filled with cars. Logan ushered us to a car. “Get in. Get in!”
I sat in the shotgun, while Rogue and Bobby got in the back. John was about to take the driver’s seat, when Logan swooped in. “I'm driving. Hey. Maybe next time.”
“This is Cyclops's car.” Bobby said. “Oh, yeah?” Logan asked, smirking.
I snickered. He unleashed his claws, hot-wiring the car. He then took us out of the mansion and onto the road as fast as he could.
“What the hell was that back there?” John asked. “Stryker.” I whispered.
“His name is Stryker.” Logan added. “Who is he?” Rogue said. “I can't remember.” Logan replied.
“Neither can I.” I said.
Rogue then gave Logan him a dog tag. “Here. This is yours.”
I glanced over at the dog tag to see the name Wolverine. Logan glanced back, giving her a smile. We remained silent for a while until John reached up towards the radio. “l don't like uncomfortable silences.” He said. “What are you doing?” I asked.
John pressed one of the buttons and NSYNC’s song Bye Bye Bye came on. We all let out a groan. He clicked something else, turning off the music, opening something weird. “I don't think that's the CD player.” John said.
Logan took out the device in the shape of an X. It let out a beep. “Whoa.” He then glanced back at John. “Sit back.” “Where we going?” John then said.
“Storm and Jean are in Boston.” I said.
Logan nodded. “We'll head that way.” “My parents live in Boston.” Bobby said.
“Good.” Logan replied.
***
Once we arrived in Boston, we reached Bobby’s house. But no one was home, Bobby glanced at us. “I'll try and find us some clothes.”
Bobby then glared at John, who had a lighter in his hand. “Don't burn anything.”
I sat on the couch, thinking of everything that happened. Stryker…that name was familiar, and then it clicked. He was the one responsible for experimenting and torturing not just me, but Logan. That’s why he had Wendy and Pete, my kids, our kids. I hope they’re all right. There’s got to be a chance. I was gonna torture myself if I continue to think about this. Right now, there was nothing I could do. I need to do something, so I won’t be a prisoner in my own mind. I walked into the kitchen to see Logan going through the fridge, searching for something. He grabbed a bottle of beer. At that moment, a cat jumped up onto the counter in front of me.
Logan then spun around, unleashing his metal claws at the poor cat. The cat wasn’t frightened. Instead, it purred, licking his metal claws. Logan smiled. I couldn’t help but smile as well. He then noticed me.
”When did you get here?” He asked.
I smirked. “Oh I’ve been here a while.”
At that moment, a woman and a boy, somewhat younger than Bobby walked in. They stared at us in horror. “Hey, Ronny. Next time you—” A man walked in, trailing off. He glared at us. “Who the hell are you?” “Uh...” I began, trying to think of something.
Bobby then came to the rescue, waking down the stairs and in front of us. No doubt that this was Bobby’s family.
“Bobby.” The father said, surprised. “Honey, aren't you supposed to be at school?” The woman asked. “Bobby, who is this guy?” The man said.
“Uh, this is Professor Logan and that’s Professor Lorna.” Bobby said, quickly.
Logan and I looked at each other. Professors? Us? “There's something I need to tell you.” Bobby continued.

Chapter 7: Ellis Island
My heart felt like it broke right there. Tears appeared, and were prepared to fall from my eyes. I shook my head. “No, Logan, it’s not what you think...”
“My daughter, quite the actress. Don’t play pretend anymore, Polaris. Mystique told me all about your grand plan to gain everyone’s trust, especially his, so you could give me what I need.” Father said.
Logan stared at me, hurt. I closed my eyes. It wasn’t what he thought. But he won’t believe me. I’ve broken his trust. Father then raised a hand, using his powers to stop Logan. Logan stood there frozen. He was then lifted up in the air. My heart dropped. Rogue shouted out. “Stop it!”
“What the hell do you want with me?” Logan asked.
“You? My dear boy, whoever said I wanted you.” Father shot back.
Logan’s face fell. He looked at Rogue, who was scared. Father raised his hand higher. Logan groaned in lots of pain. And I couldn’t take it. I stood in front of Logan.
“Father, enough.” I ordered.
Father looked surprised. “Oh? Have you developed feelings for him?”
I knew Logan was staring at me. I then realized father was right, I was falling for him. But I fucked up. Logan deserved better than me. Sorry, Logan. I looked at father, not wanting to see Logan’s face.
“I could care less about him. He’s not the one we want. Now let him go.” I urged.
“If that’s what you want.” Father retorted.
He then threw Logan back against the front of the train. My eyes widened. “Logan!”
Father grabbed my arm, keeping me back. He wore a firm look. “I’ll deal with you later.”
He then grabbed Rogue, who he had knocked unconscious with a liquid of something that he injected in her. Father and I left the train, leaving Logan behind. We found Sabertooth and Toad inside the train station. Father handed Rogue over to Toad. When we walked out, we saw loads of police cars with cops around us. They all had guns pointed at us.
“Hold it right there!” They yelled. “Put your hands up over your heads now!”
Father then raised his hands, lifting the cars. He then threw them down on top of the others. He looked over at me. “Polaris? Would you like to do the honors this time?”
I remained silent, staring at the ground. Father sighed. “Fine, I’ll do it myself.”
He then used his powers, taking all their guns from them. He turned the guns around. Now they were all facing the cops.
“You Homo sapiens and your guns.” Father scoffed.
Sabertooth then grabbed father’s throat. “That’s enough, Erik.”
“Let them go.” Toad said.
Father and I looked at each other. Charles is here. I looked out at the cops, trying to find him. Where are you? Father replied. “Why not come out where I can see you, Charles?”
“What do you want her for?” Charles said, through Sabertooth.
“Can’t you read my mind?” Father mocked. ”What now? Save the girl? You’ll have to kill us, Charles. And what will that accomplish? Let them pass that law and they’ll have you in chains with a number burned into your forehead.”
“It won’t be that way.” Charles urged.
“Then kill me and find out.” Father said.
Charles didn’t do anything to hurt him. But I heard Charles in my head. “Lorna, you know this is wrong?”
What does it matter, Charles? The humans will never except us.
“They will if we show them a better way.”
I scoffed. Oh please.
“You don’t want this. I can feel your emotions. They betray your thoughts, Lorna. She’s just a kid.”
I hesitated. No, this needs to be done. Besides father won’t kill her. She’s a mutant, and we don’t hurt our own kind.
“Do you really believe him?”
Why shouldn’t I? I owe everything to me, especially my life.
“Then why don’t you ask him about your memories?”
I froze. Father then spoke. “Then release me.”
When Charles remained silent. Father sighed. “Fine.”
He cocked one of the guns with his powers. He then fired the gun. Without thinking, I raised a hand, stopping the bullet from hitting the cop with my powers.
“Care to press your luck, Charles?” Father warned, cocking all the guns at once. “I don’t think Polaris can stop them all.”
Sabertooth then let go of father. Father shook his head. “Still unwilling to make sacrifices. That’s what makes you weak.”
A helicopter then landed beside us. I looked to see Mystique inside. Father spoke again. “Good-bye Charles.”
We then walked towards the helicopter. Once inside, we left, returning to father’s headquarters. I sat in silence. Charles words replayed in my head. “Then why don’t you ask him about your memories?”
I looked back at father, but remained silent. I was afraid to know the truth.
***
“Lorna, there are people I want you to meet.” Charles’s voice rang out.
I rushed down the stairs of the mansion to see Raven and Charles, standing in the room with a man around Raven’s age, and a man, Charles’s age, looking very familiar. I wasn’t sure why.
“This is Hank McCoy, and this is Erik, Erik Lehnsherr. He has the same powers as you, Lorna.” Charles said.
The man, Erik, turned to look at me in awe. “You have the same powers as me?”
“Show him.” Charles urged. “It’s okay.”
I raised my hands. Nearly everything in the room was raised up in the air. Erik continued to stare at me. Charles spoke. “She can control and manipulate metal...She never knew her biological father, Erik.”
Erik looked at Charles, then back at me. He smiled.
I sat alone in my room, staring at the floor, wondering and questioning everything I knew. Father then walked towards me.
“Whatever happened in there...at the mansion, you need to let it go. Stop sulking. I need my right hand back.” Father urged.
“Do you know about my memories?” I blurted out.
Father paused. “...Polaris, you know I do everything, thinking the best for you. I need you to keep that in mind--”
“Did you know about my memories? Did you anything about my past?” I ordered.
Father’s face fell. “Polaris, I didn’t know you existed until Trask and Stryker took you. I didn’t know--”
“Don’t you bullshit me, Magneto!” I snapped. “My memories are coming back. I remember first meeting you. You never said you were my father ‘til later. Why? Was I not good enough? Was I not to your liking?!”
Father shook his head. “No, that’s not what it was...”
“Then what was it?!” I snapped.
Everything in the room was raised. Then, it was pointed towards father. He looked at me, surprised. “You would hurt your own father?”
“Would you hurt one of our own kind?” I retorted.
Father was silent. He knew what I meant. He hesitated. “You know I will do anything to secure a place for us, so no one will hurt us.”
“Secure a place for who? Us? Or you?” I shot back. “She’s just a girl.”
“That mutant is our key to a better future for all of us. It’s a pity...under other circumstances, I’d recruit her for our cause. Her powers would’ve been a great advantage.” Father explained.
“Her name is Rogue.” I said.
“It’s unfortunate. But I’m willing to make the sacrifices that need to be done.” Father argued.
I raised an eyebrow. “If I had Rogue’s powers, would you sacrifice me? For our kind?”
Father raised a hand, placing it on my cheek. “My dear, you are my life, my world, my everything.”
I let out a sigh of relief. I thought he disagree, but I was wrong. He lowered his hand. “But if it came to that...if you had these powers and not that girl, then with great pain, I’d go through with my plan.”
My heart broke. I can’t believe him. Tears fell down my face. “I...can’t believe what I’m hearing. You are my father. I loved you. Is that not enough?”
“You will always be my daughter, Polaris. You are more than enough. You may not understand stand this now, but you will thank me later.” Father urged. “I’m sorry for this.”
Whack! Something hard hit the back of my head. I fell to the ground. My eyes immediately closed.
-3rd person pov-
Charles, Jean, Scott, and Logan were in Charles’s study. Logan paced the room back and forth. It was a difficult night for him. Rogue was taken from them. And Lorna, the woman he had fallen for, betrayed them. All to get close to Rogue and bring her to her father, Magneto.
“The machine emits radiation that triggers mutation in ordinary human beings.” Charles explained. “But the mutation is unnatural. Kelly's body is rejecting it.” Jean said. “His cells began to break down immediately.”
Scott raised an eyebrow. “What effect does it have on mutants?” There appears to be none. But I fear it will harm any normal person exposed to it.” Charles said.
“So what does Magneto want with Rogue?” Logan asked.
Charles shook his head. “I don't know.”
“Wait a second. You said this machine draws its power from Magneto. And that it weakened him.”
Charles nodded. “Yes. In fact, it nearly killed him.” “He's going to transfer his power to Rogue and use her to power the machine.” Logan said.
Everyone looked at each other in horror. Charles knew they had to act now and quickly before it was too late.
“Cyclops, you and Storm ready the jet. I'm gonna find Rogue. Get Logan a uniform.” Charles ordered. Scott raised an eyebrow. “Wait a minute. He's not coming with us, is he?”
Charles nodded. “Yes.”
“Sorry, but he'll endanger the mission and...” Scott said. “I wasn't the one who gave the station a new sunroof, pal.” Logan argued. “No, you were the one who stabbed Rogue in the chest.” Scott shot back. “And you let Magneto’s daughter walk all over you, leading Magneto right to Rogue.”
“Scott.” Jean warned.
Logan grew furious. He grabbed Scott by his collar. “Why don't you take your little mission and stick it up--” Logan didn’t finish as Storm barged in. “Senator Kelly is dead.”
Everyone grew silent. This had just gone from bad to worse. “I'm going to find her. Settle this.”
Charles was about to leave, when he stopped at the door. “And Logan?”
Logan spun around, surprised. Charles continued. “You shouldn’t be so hard on Lorna. If anything, I know she will do the right thing when it counts.”
Charles then left. Logan was left battling emotions and thoughts that contradicted one another. His mind was telling him to forget Lorna, but his heart was telling him to go after her, find her, and make sense of all this.
***
-Lorna’s pov-
“Where’s my child?!” I roared.
Scientists quickly grabbed me. I raised my hand, using my powers. I threw the carriage at the scientists, knocking them to the ground. I ran into another room, finding two babies on a table. Many scientists were around them. The babies were crying. My heart broke. Everything in the room shook.
“Get away from them!” I ordered.
“That’s not going to happen, Polaris.” Stryker’s voice rang out.
I opened my eyes with a gasp. I had twins...they might still be alive. I laid on the ground next to Rogue. She was in handcuffs. I looked around. My heart dropped. We were in a boat near Ellis Island, near the statue of liberty. Mystique walked past us. She stared at Rogue. She then looked over at me. She walked off.
“Magnificent, isn't she?” Dad asked. “I've seen it.” Rogue retorted.
“I first saw her in 1949. America was going to be the land of tolerance. Of peace.” Father explained. “Are you going to kill me?” Rogue asked. Father nodded. “Yes.” Rogue raised an eyebrow. ‘Why?”
“Because there is no land of tolerance. There is no peace, not here or anywhere else. Whole families destroyed simply because they were born different from those in power. Well, after tonight, the world's powerful will be just like us. They will return home as brothers. As mutants. Our cause will be theirs. Your sacrifice will mean our survival. I'll understand if that comes as small consolation.” Father explained.
“This isn’t the way, father.” I urged.
Father scoffed. “You’re starting to sound like Charles.”
“Well, he’s more of a father than you’ve been.” I shot back.
That hurt father. He took a step back. It was like I had shot him. Father turned around. He approached Sabertooth, Toad, and Mystique. “Put her in the machine. I'll raise it.”
I looked over at Rogue, who was scared. She looked over at me, narrowing her eyes. “I trusted you.”
“I know. And I’m sorry, I never wanted to kill you...I just thought you would grow tired after he’d put you through the machine.” I explained. “I would never want to kill a mutant, one of our own. But trust me. If I could, I’d fix this mess. I didn’t want to betray Logan...or you, or the others back in the mansion.”
Rogue appeared to trust me. “Then help me.”

Chapter 1: The Wolverine
A/N: Gif is not mine nor are any of these characters mine!
Warnings: Violence (fighting).
~2003~
I weakly glanced up to see Trask’s face. Stryker stood beside him. Trask looked unimpressed. He shook his head.
“It’s not enough.” Trask said.
Stryker turned around, motioning a couple of guards towards us.
“No!” I cried out.
I did my best to struggle against the restraints, trying to use my powers. But I was too weak, and the restraints were made of plastic, not metal.
“This is for your own good, Miss Dane. Or should I say, Polaris.” Stryker retorted.
“Leave me alone!”
“The American people deserve the right to decide whether they want their children to be in school with mutants. To be taught by mutants. Ladies and gentlemen, the truth is that mutants are very real. And they are among us. We must know who they are, and, above all, we must know what they can do.” Senator Kelly announced.
I glanced back around to find myself back in the Senate with Magneto, my father, standing by my side. Jean Grey, a student of Charles Xavier, had tried to convince the Senate we meant no harm. But the Senate will not listen. Humans will always be afraid of what they cannot understand.
“Come, Polaris, we’re leaving.” Father informed me.
I gave him a nod. We left the room. As we made our out of the room and into the hallway, a familiar voice rang out. “Erik. What are you doing here?”
We stopped, turning around to see Charles in his wheelchair. His eyes met mine, and he gave me a small smile.
“Nice to see you again, Lorna.” Charles greeted me.
I narrowed my eyes. “It’s Polaris now, Charles.”
Charles’s face fell. “Whatever path your father has paved for himself, does not mean you have to follow him.”
I glanced over at my father, who grew uncomfortable. Charles’s question was silly to me though. I owe everything to my father. Of course, I must follow him. Besides, he’s right about the humans.
“Why do you ask questions to which you already know the answers?” Father inquired, standing in front of me in a protective manner.
“Don't give up on them, Erik.” Charles urged.
Father raised an eyebrow. “What would you have me do, Charles?”
“I've heard these arguments before. It was a long time ago. Mankind has evolved since then.” Charles assured us.
“Yes...into us.” Father replied. He then furrowed his brows. “Are you sneaking around in here, Charles? Whatever are you looking for?”
“I'm looking for hope.” Charles explained.
“I will bring you hope, old friend. And I ask only one thing in return. Don't get in my way.” Father warned. He then looked over at me. “Come, my dear.”
I gave him a nod. “Of course, father.”
“Lorna.” Charles called out, gaining my attention. “Don’t let your father chose what you want.”
“My father doesn’t have to choose anything. I have chosen this. I will never forget what the humans have done to me!” I spat.
I then spun around, following father down the hallway. Father then exclaimed, saying his last words to Charles. “We are the future, Charles, not them! They no longer matter.”
***
Once we returned to our base on Genosha, father decided to go forth with his plan. With Senator Kelly trying to push for the Mutant Registration Act, father decided it was time to act now.
“In order for this plan to work, we’ll need someone strong to replace me.” Father announced.
“I can do it, father--” I offered.
But he immediately, shut me down. “No.”
I narrowed my eyes at him. “I am strong enough.”
“I don’t doubt you’re powerful, but not for this machine. In order to turn the world leaders into mutants like us, I need someone with the ability to take some of my power and multiply it enough to produce enough power we need.”
“That should be no problem.” Sabertooth spoke up. “I saw a mutant with the ability to take others’ energy. She nearly killed a boy.”
Father’s eyes lit up. “Where is she now?”
Sabertooth let out a grunt as he shrugged. “I don’t know.”
“Then find out now.” Father ordered. “Mystique, Toad, you will bring Senator Kelly here to me. Polaris, take Sabertooth with you. Find that mutant. I want her alive.”
At his order, we split up to do our job. I wasn’t fond of Sabertooth, but he was an excellent tracker, able to find the mutant in no time. Days had passed, and we were currently in a town within Alberta, Canada. We walked around a forest covered in snow. It took everything within me not to strangle Sabertooth. I felt his heavy breathing on the back of my neck. I took a deep breath. All of the sudden, I heard radio waves not far from us. I focused on the waves, walking away from Sabertooth, baffling him.
“Where are you going?” He inquired.
But I said nothing to him, continuing to walk away from him. I then saw a truck in front of a power line with lots of energy flowing inside. Inside the truck, I could feel an enormous amount of metal, Adamantium to be exact. Once Sabertooth reached me, he saw the truck. A grin appeared on his face. “She’s in there.”
“Perfect. Let’s get this over with.” I said.
I then extended out a hand, knocking the power line onto the truck. In front of our eyes, a man was flung out the window, surprising me. Sabertooth and I exchanged a look, nodding. We made our way towards the truck. And to our surprise, the man was back up on his feet as though nothing happened to him.
“Look out!” A girl’s voice cried out.
The man quickly turned around, seeing us. He was rather handsome and muscular man with short brown hair, mutton chops, and warm brown eyes. He wore a flannel, brown jacket, jeans, and a pair of boots, all covered in snow.
As soon as his eyes met mine my breath hitched. I mentally cursed. He made me feel like a high school girl. I shook my head, focusing on the job we were sent to do. Sabertooth let out a growl, charging towards the man. The man quickly raised his hands. And from his knuckles, metal claws emerged. My eyes widened out of shock and awe. That’s why I could sense Adamantium. It came from him…inside of him. There was something about this man that was familiar…but I wasn’t sure why or how.
Sabertooth quickly tackled the man, knocking him to the ground. He let out a groan, but he scrambled up to his feet. I could feel the metal, the Adamantium flowing throughout his entire body. I extended out a hand, engulfed in green flames. The man was lifted up in the air. He looked over at me in awe and horror.
“Your claws are no match for me, claw man.” I announced.
“W-who are you?” He asked.
“Your worst nightmare.” I responded with a grin.
Sabertooth let out a chuckle, grabbing a giant branch. “Batter up.”
He then swung the branch, hitting the man, sending him flying back onto the hood of the truck. And just like that, he was knocked out. I grinned. It was too easy…If only everything went according to plan. There was a huge gust of wind that emerged from nowhere.
I spun around to see a woman with long white hair, dressed in a black X-Men suit along with a man with a visor, covering his eyes. The man sent a red blast towards us. Sabertooth jumped, fleeing back into the trees. However, I stood my ground. I lifted my arms, covered in green, tearing the wires from the power line, and sending them towards the X-Men, Charles’s students. The man hastily blasted the wires in half before it could reach them, making me frustrated.
The woman then sent a huge gust of wind, throwing me back onto the windshield of the truck beside the claw man, who lied unconscious. I let out a groan, feeling pain throughout my back. But I fought against it, trying to get up. But a red blast was sent in my direction, hitting my side, throwing me back onto the truck. My head whipped back, hitting the glass. My eyes grew heavy and all I saw was darkness.

Chapter 8: The Attack
I nodded. “I’ll do what I can.”
We then arrived at the statue of liberty. That’s when I noticed we weren’t alone. A storm had appeared out of nowhere. That meant Storm was here and the others. My heart leaped. Logan was coming...
“Toad, Mystique, stay sharp. We're not alone.” Father urged. He looked at Sabertooth. “And you stay here. Once I've given my power to the girl, I'll be temporarily weakened. You'll be my only defense.”
I looked over at Rogue. “Hey, they’re gonna know you’re gone. I’m going to sneak out. And I’ll come back for you.” Rogue grew even more scared. “You’re gonna leave me alone? Here?”
”Hey, hey, look at me. You’re not gonna die, all right? I’m going to fix this mess, this is on me.” I assured her. “We’re not alone. Logan and the others are here, so I’m going to get them. Everything’s gonna be all right.”
”You promise?” Rogue asked, just like she did with Logan on the train. Immediately, I nodded. “I promise, kiddo. Cross my heart, and hope to die. Now I need you to distract them.” Rogue nodded. I raised my restraints, which were plastic. Father was smart, very clever. But he taught me everything. I slowly walked out of there. But one wrong move, and I slipped, falling down. I let out a scream.
“Lorna!” Father’s voice rang out.
Unfortunately, I wasn’t able to get out of my restrains, but I landed in the water. I doggy paddled to the surface. I quickly ran inside. I saw Scott, Jean, and Logan, all wearing X-men suits. Logan raised his hands. “Hey, hey! It's me.”
“Prove it.” Scott retorted.
“You're a dick.” Logan shot back. Scott nodded. “Ok.” I reluctantly walked towards them. I spoke up. “Hey.”
They all spun around to see me. Scott used his powers, hitting my stomach with a blast. I was thrown back against the wall, hitting the floor.
“Lorna!” Logan’s voice rang out.
I winced. I felt lots of pain from my stomach. Ouch…Logan ran over, kneeling down. He placed a hand over my stomach.
“You all right?” Logan asked.
“The dickhead couldn’t have aimed for my restraints?” I retorted.
Logan chuckled. “Well, you know Scott.”
“You know I can hear you two!” Scott shouted.
“You were meant to.” I shot back.
“I’m gonna check your stomach…is that all right?” Logan asked.
I nodded. He lifted my stomach. There was a horrible mark across my stomach. Logan stared, scared.
“We’ll fix this.” He assured me.
I placed a hand over his. “Hey, it’s all right. Watch.”
The mark then slowly disappeared. It was like I had never been hurt, but the pain was still there. I wasn’t sure how, but ever since father rescued me I had this ability. It shocked my father. Logan stared in awe.
“How…” He trailed off.
I shrugged. “Ever since I was rescued from where I was, I had this ability. I wasn’t born with it, I was given this gift.”
Logan then helped me up. He noticed the restraints. He then took off the plastic restraints, using his claws. I smiled. “Thanks…Uh, about earlier—”
“Can you guys talk about this later? We gotta go.” Scott urged.
I raised an eyebrow. “Does this mean you trust me?”
“Can we trust you?” Logan asked.
I nodded. “You can. I came back, didn’t I?”
“It could be a trap.” Jean retorted.
“It’s not. I’m here to help. I owe it to Charles, Rogue, and you guys.” I said, looking at Logan. “And if it is a trap, then you can go ahead and kill me then.”
“All right, then let’s go.” Scott ordered.
We ran up towards the top. And we were so close to the top of the statue. Don’t worry, Rogue. We’re gonna get you.
“Everybody get out of here.” Logan advised.
“What is it?” Storm asked. “I can't move.” Logan explained.
He was then thrown against the wall. I was also thrown back next to Logan. My arms and legs were covered in metal. Jean, Scott, and Storm were thrown back on the other side of the roof. Father then came down from the top of the statue. “Ah, my brothers. Welcome. And you, just point those claws of yours in a safer direction.” Father said, moving his hands towards his chest. He looked at me. “Ah, so my daughter lives.”
I scoffed. “Like you care so much.”
“Contrary to what you may believe, my dear, I care. I’ve only done what I’ve believed was the best for you.” Father urged.
“Warping my memories, making me believe something else is not what’s best for me.” I shot back. “You said a load of bullshit, I bet I wasn’t miserable at Charles’s school.”
“You’re right. I may have lied a great deal. But I didn’t want us to fight. I wanted you to be on my side. To see things the way I saw them.” Father explained. Father then looked at Scott. “You better close your eyes.”
I was angry at him. How dare he...Sabertooth jumped down, snatching Scott’s glasses. Sabertooth then placed stone around me over the metal, so I wouldn’t be able to escape. Scott spoke. “Storm, fry 'em.” “A bolt of lightning into a huge copper conductor. I thought you lived at a school.” Father retorted. He then talked into his comm. “Mystique? Mystique!”
My heart dropped. Did something happen to her? Jean then spoke. “I've seen Senator Kelly.”
“Hmm? So, the good senator survived his fall. And the swim to shore. He's become even more powerful than I imagined.” Father said. “He's dead.” Jean replied.
“It's true. I saw him die. Like those people down there will die.” Storm warned. “Are you sure you saw what you saw?” Father retorted. “Why do none of you understand what I'm trying to do?”
Father looked over at me. “I thought you out of all people would understand, Polaris. Those people down there control our fate and the fate of every other mutant! Well...soon our fate will be theirs.” “Help! Please help me!” Rogue’s voice rang out. “You're so full of shit. If you're really so righteous, it'd be you in that thing.” Logan argued.
Father glared at him. He then looked at me. “I see why you’ve taking a liking to him. You’re just like him.”
He then flew up towards the statue, where Rogue was. Rogue continued to shout. “Help! Somebody help me! Please! Somebody please help me! Somebody! Help me...Logan! Lorna!”
Rogue stopped shouting. Logan let out a yell before unleashing his claws, stabbing himself. My eyes widened. ”Logan!”
He fell to the ground. Sabertooth walked towards him. Logan got up, stabbing Sabertooth. He let out a growl. They both jumped out to fight on the statue. We heard Rogue screaming. Then we heard metal scraping all around us. After what seemed like hours, Sabertooth came back.
He grinned, walking towards me. He placed a hand around my neck. I gasped. He chuckled, darkly. ”Now I can finally kill ya without havin’ to worry about your old man.”
Logan then came back down, behind Sabertooth. He glared at him. “Hey, bub, I'm not finished with you yet.”
Sabertooth growled, but kept his grasp on me. Logan narrowed his eyes. “Let her go.”
Sabertooth reluctantly let go of my neck. I coughed a lot, but I was able to breathe. Above us, father’s machine began to work. The rings began to spin. “Jean.” Logan said.
“Scott, when I tell you, open your eyes.” Jean whispered.
Scott shook his head. “No.”
“Trust me.” Jean urged.
“You drop something?” Logan asked, raising Scott’s glasses.
Logan then threw the glasses. Jean used her powers, positioning the glasses in the right spot. Jean shouted. “Now!”
Scott opened his eyes, blasting Sabertooth. He was thrown back out of the statue and onto the boat. Logan then freed Scott, Jean, and Storm. Logan walked back towards me, freeing me. I smiled. “Thanks.”
Logan nodded. He smiled, but it quickly disappeared. My heart broke a little. But I reminded myself that this was my fault. We all looked up at the machine. The rings were moving too fast for me to fly up there.
“We gotta get her outta there. Cyclops, can you hit it?” Logan asked.
“The rings are moving too fast.” Scott said.
I raised an eyebrow. “Can you just shoot it?”
“I'll kill her.” Scott warned.
“Storm, can you get me up?” Scott asked.
Storm shook her head. “I can't control it like that. You could fly right over the torch.”
“Then let me go. If I don't make it, at least you can still blast the damn thing.” Logan advised.
My heart nearly dropped. I wanted to argue, but it was the only way. And we had to get Rogue outta there. Scott nodded. “All right, do it. Jean, Lorna, use your powers. Try to steady him.”
“Hang on to something.” Storm said.
Storm used her powers, creating a huge gust of wind. Jean and I worked together, raising Logan up towards the torch. He struggled, but reached the machine. A white light slowly made its way towards the island. Hurry up, Logan. I stared, seeing Logan struggle. Scott placed a hand on his glasses, ready to take the shot. “Scott, wait!” Jean warned.
“Jean, I have to!” Scott retorted.
“No, just wait!” I urged.
The white light grew closer. Scott finally grew frustrated. “I have a shot. I'm taking it.”
He then fired, blasting my father. Father fell back out of the torch. Logan then used his claws, destroying the machine before it could reach the humans. I let out a sigh of relief. ”I’m gonna check on them.” I said.
I then used my powers, lifting me up to the torch to find Logan, unconscious. His face and body was covered in scars and blood. My heart dropped. We need to get him back to the mansion. Rogue then walked towards me. “I’m sorry, I didn’t mean to...”
“I know. It’s okay. We’re gonna go back to the mansion.” I assured her.
Rogue smiled. “You kept your promise.”
Her words sent me back to a memory, one I had not yet remembered.
Logan was panting, sitting up on a bed. I sat beside him, placing a hand on his shoulder. “Hey...it’s okay. It was just a nightmare.”
Logan nodded. He looked down at my arm, seeing a huge cut. His eyes widened. “Lorna...”
“It’s okay. Just a scratch. It’ll heal.” I assured him.
Logan still looked hurt though. “But I hurt you.”
“You’ll learn to control it, Logan. It’s not your fault. It’s these nightmares...I promise you that I help you through this. I won’t leave you.” I assured him.
“I won’t be surprised if you break your promise, leaving me.” Logan said.
“I don’t break promises, James. I keep them no matter what.” I said.
I then gave him a kiss.
I smiled. “I don’t break promises, Rogue. I keep them no matter what. Now let’s get you all back.”
***
After we returned to the mansion, I was allowed into the lab, where Logan and Charles were being held. I saw Logan, still unconscious, lying on a table. He had tubes, IVs, and patches all over him. My heart broke. I didn’t like to see him like this. I didn’t leave his side at all. Charles was awake, lying in a table next to Logan. I was happy to see Charles awake.
“Lorna, you’re back.” He said.
“I couldn’t leave you...not when you’ve done so much for me.” I replied. “Not all my memories are back. But I have enough to know that you’ve always been there for me, Professor. Before Erik, you become my father. Thank you.”
Charles smiled. I believed to have seen tears in his eyes, but it may have just been my imagination.
“I knew you’d do the right thing when it counted.” He said. “I’m so proud of you.”
I felt happy. I never thought I’d hear those words. I smiled. “Thanks Charles, for everything.”
“You’re welcome. Whatever happens, you will always have a home here, Lorna. And I do hope you choose to stay.” Charles urged. “But it’s your choice.”
***
Hours then went by. Jean took Charles out of the lab and to his room to rest. I stared at Logan, hoping he’d wake up. I then heard his gruff voice. “If it isn’t magnets.”
“Hey, claw-man.” I said. “Hey.” He replied. I raised an eyebrow. “How are you feeling?” “Fantastic.” Logan said. “That was a brave thing you did.” I replied. “Did it work?” Logan asked.
I nodded. “Yeah. She's fine. She took on a few of your more charming and wonderful personality traits for a while. But we all lived through it. I think she's a little taken with you.” “Well, you can tell her my heart belongs to someone else.” Logan advised.
Did he mean me? No, he probably hated me. My heart broke, imagining Logan with someone else. No, he deserves better than me. I opened my mouth. But Jean walked towards us. “Hey. You’re up.”
I looked, seeing Logan’s eyes light up as he saw Jean. He smiled. It made my heart throb. Logan nodded. “Yeah...” “How's the professor?” Logan then asked. “He's good.” Jean said. Logan nodded, sighing. “Good.”
“I’ll leave you two alone.” I said.
I then walked out, feeling a terrible feeling in my heart. I wanted to stay here, but maybe it was best if I leave...away from Logan. I only bring pain everywhere I go...

Chapter 5: The Surprise
-Lorna’s pov-
I kept running until I reached the gardens. I fell onto the ground in front of the fountain. Tears fell down my cheeks. What’s going on with me? I felt lots of pain within me as so many thoughts ran through my mind. I just wanted a minute of peace, just one.
I was now running through a forest. Several men armed with guns made their way towards me. A man with long claw like nails then reached me, knocking me to the ground. He smirked. “So you’re my brother’s new play toy.”
I shook my head as I stared at the fountain, feeling tired of all this pain. I raised my hands as I looked up at the sky, letting out a scream.
“Hey, Lorna!”
I lowered my hands, spinning around. I saw Logan, wearing a tank top, showing off his muscles, and a pair of sweatpants. He slowly walked towards me. “I’m not gonna hurt you.”
I would've retorted with something, telling him to fuck off. But I was too tired, fed up with this pain. Instead, I did the unthinkable. I leaned my head against Logan’s chest, wrapping my arms around him. He tensed up. But I then felt his arms around me. My tears continued to fall as I continued to cry. He remained silent, but he moved his hands up and down my back. I could smell his scent of cigars, leather, and cedar wood, which wasn’t overwhelming, but intoxicating. After I stopped crying, I looked up at him. He had a soft look, surprising me. But I ruined it with my words. “Tell anybody about this, and I’ll kill you.”
Logan chuckled. “I wouldn’t expect anything less of you, magnets.”
I smiled. Logan then spoke. “Why don’t we go to the kitchen? Take your mind off of things?”
I nodded. We then walked back inside to the kitchen. I sat next in in a chair at a table. Logan walked over to the fridge. “Damn, there’s no beer.”
I chuckled. “This is a school, Logan.”
“Ah, this will do.” He said.
Logan walked back towards me, placing two bottles of soda on the table. He then sat down across from me. We then drank in silence...well, until Logan spoke. “So, you had a memory about me?”
I almost choked on the soda. I tried not to care. I scoffed. “Probably just a dream.”
Logan smirked. “Oh, so you’re having dreams about me now, princess?”
My poor heart trembled quickly. I fake laughed. “Ha, ha, very funny, Logan...We all know you can’t control dreams.”
“But it wasn’t a dream. It couldn’t have been. When you woke, you said my name.” Logan replied.
I raised an eyebrow. “Last I checked your name is Logan.”
“Logan’s a nickname. James is my real name.” He said. “I haven’t gone by that name in years.”
My eyes widened. Oh no, no, I knew where Logan was going with this. And I didn’t want to hear about it, or even talk about it. I stood up. “I’m going to sleep.”
“But—” Logan started.
“Good night, claw-man.” I retorted.
I then left the kitchen, leaving Logan.
***
The next morning came. I did my best to avoid Logan, leaving the room before he was up. I continued to have more memories about Charles, the school, the experiments, the torture, and Logan. I wanted to be alone, so I sat on a bench in the gardens, hugging my legs.
“There you are.” Charles’s voice rang out.
I looked up to see Charles in his wheelchair in front of me. “I want to be alone.”
“You’ve been having more memories, haven’t you?” Charles pressed.
I remained silent, looking at the ground. Charles sighed. “Lorna, you can’t avoid this. It must happen. And it’s not fair to Logan. He’s lost his memory as well. You are the only one who can help him.”
“Doesn’t mean I want to.” I retorted. “It hurts...Charles. It all hurts too much.”
“Yes...it does indeed. But that doesn’t mean you should avoid it. That would only bring more pain.” Charles explained. “Embracing your memories will help remind you of who you were...before Polaris. Before your father rescued you. And it would mean a great deal to Logan if you opened up. I’m certain he’s had memories that would benefit you as well.”
I remained silent. He had a point. I can’t stop the memories from coming back. And maybe if I do what Charles says, then I will gain not just his trust, but everyone else’s too. No, remember the mission, Polaris. Your father is counting on you. Father saved me at a time when no one else did. I owe everything to him. And now he needs Rogue. I won’t fail him.I faked a smile. “You’re right, Charles.”
Charles smiled. “Then go to Logan.”
I nodded. “I will.”
I stood up, pacing to our room. I didn’t think of knocking, opening the door, closing it behind me. I spun around to see Logan, wearing nothing but a towel around his waist.
My eyes widened. “Oh God!”
I spun around, facing the door. Logan’s voice rang out. “Hey, haven’t you heard of knocking?”
“I didn’t think you’d be naked.” I retorted.
“Well, this is my room.” Logan argued.
“You mean our room.” I reminded him.
“Relax, you can turn around.” He said.
I turned around. Logan was still shirtless, but he was wearing jeans. “So what’re you doing here?”
“This is my room, too. Can I be here?” I retorted.
“Never said that. Just didn’t think you’d be here, ‘cause you’ve been avoiding me all day.” He shot back.
I frowned. Yikes, he noticed. Logan nodded, continuing. “Yeah, don’t think I didn’t noticed. I know when someone’s trying to avoid me.”
My eyes kept flickering down, looking at his muscles, which to my disadvantage, Logan saw. He smirked. “Am I distracting you, darling?”
I scoffed. “You wish...Listen, I came here to talk about my memories.”
Logan’s eyes lit up. Oh this was gonna be difficult. I continued. “…I…we were both in a cabin. And I told you a legend about the moon and her lover, and his name meant the Wolverine. I said the story reminded me of you…”
Logan stared at me in awe. He then continued. “And that’s when you said my name. You said you loved my name…all of me.”
My face turned bright. So he had remembered the same memory as I did. So that meant…we were lovers. We’re we married to each other? We remained silent for what felt like hours.
“So that’s where I got that name from.” Logan then said. He took out a dog tag from his pocket.
I looked down to see the name Wolverine. This was all too much to take in at once. I can’t possibly have been with Logan in the past. Even though my memories were telling me one thing, I continued to deny it all. Logan reached a hand out, touching my hand. I felt a spark at once. His hand was very warm. He opened his mouth. But before he could say a word, the door opened. “Logan.”
Logan and I spun around to see Rogue. Her eyes widened when she saw the two of us. She immediately walked back to the door. “Uh, I’m sorry…I’ll come back later.”
“No, it’s all right. I was just about to leave.” I said, standing up, pulling my hand away from Logan’s hand.
“I’m Lorna.” I said, walking towards Rogue.
“Marie.” She replied, extending a hand that was in an glove.
I smiled, shaking her hand. “Nice to meet you, Marie. Well, I’ll let you two talk.”
“Lorna—” Logan began.
“See you later, Logan.” I said, not letting him finish.
I then walked out of the room, returning to the gardens. I sat on an empty bench. Jean then approached me.
“You here to babysit me?” I retorted. “Charles still doesn’t trust me?”
“They giving you all a hard time?” She chuckled.
I then saw her eyes glow yellow. My eyes widened. “Mystique…”

Chapter 3: Stuck
A/N: I don’t own any gifs or characters. The timeline won’t exactly match the X-Men’s timeline of the Prologue Series, like X-Men: First Class. Sorry for the confusion.
I couldn’t believe what Charles said. Was that really a smart idea? I smirk, looking over at Logan. Logan shook his head. “No, absolutely not. She’s not gonna let me rest.”
Scott chuckled. “Sweet dreams, then.”
Logan glared at Scott. Charles cleared his throat. “I trust you both are old enough to handle this like adults.”
“But—” Logan started.
“I don’t want to hear it. Now off you go.” Charles ordered.
***
To our luck, our room had only one bed. But there was a couch by the window. I’ll just kick Logan to the couch.
“Listen here, kid—” Logan started.
“I am not a kid.” I scowled. “I’m a grown adult, old enough like Jean, Storm, Scott, and you.”
Logan raised an eyebrow. He let out a chuckle. “Oh trust me, magnets. I’m much older than you or the others here.”
“Don’t call me magnets, claw-man.” I warned.
“Then stop calling me claw-man.” Logan retorted.
I let out a frustrated groan, turning away from him. I looked over at the bed. I then ordered. “You’ll be taking the couch.”
“And who made you in charge?” Logan asked, marching over towards me.
I lifted a hand in front of him. He took a step back, raising a hand. “You wouldn’t.”
“Lorna, what did I say?” Charles’s voice rang in my head again.
“He’s in sufferable.” I retorted.
“Oh I’m insufferable? Well, you aren’t making it any better, sweetheart.” Logan shot back.
“Give Logan the bed. For what you’ve nearly done, he will take the bed tonight.” Charles ordered. “Problem solved.”
I grumbled, making my way to the couch. Charles must’ve been in Logan’s head to, because Logan wore a huge smug look.
“Looks like you’re no longer in charge.” Logan said.
I flipped him off, causing Logan to chuckle. I jumped onto the couch, taking out the knife I stole from the kitchen. I used my powers, playing around with it for a while.
“Where did you get that?” Logan asked.
I shrugged. “Took it from the kitchen.”
“Great.” He grumbled.
“Lorna, no killing Logan.” Charles’s voice came back in my head.
“Fine.” I sighed. I smirked at Logan. “Sweet dreams, claw-man.”
***
I felt the liquid enter my body from the needles impaled all over my body. I fought against my restraints, but it was useless, they were tight and plastic.
“How she doing?” Stryker inquired.
“She’s resisting, sir.” A scientist mentioned.
“Sedate her. Wipe her memories. You’ll have better luck then.” Stryker ordered. “She won’t want to escape if she can’t remember a thing.”
Stryker looked over at me. I narrowed my eyes. “Where’s Logan.”
“I think you’re mistaken. There’s no one here with that name.” Stryker retorted. He then turned towards the scientists. “Do it now.”
“Get away from me!” I shrieked.
“Hey, Lorna.” Logan’s voice rang out. He gently placed a hand on my shoulder. “It’s just a nightmare.”
My hands shook as I looked up at Logan. Tears fell from my eyes. I knew him…Before my memories were wiped I had known him. How was that possible? I nodded, unable to use any words. It was then when I noticed he didn’t have a shirt on, revealing his abs. My cheeks turned bright pink. I turned my head away.
“Put a shirt on.” I urged.
Logan smirked. “Why? Do I make you nervous?”
I scoffed. “As if.”
But he removed his hand from my shoulder, putting on a tank top. The door then opened. Storm ran in, followed by Jean and Scott. Charles wheeled in behind them all. Many students peeped inside the door through the hallway, watching me. I tried to wipe away the tears, but they kept flowing.
“What did you do?” Scott demanded, facing Logan.
“I didn’t do anything. I tried to help her.” Logan argued.
“Logan’s right.” Charles said, wheeling over to me. “Tell me what happened?”
I hesitated, looking at the students. Charles noticed. He looked over at Storm and Scott. “Get the students back to their rooms.”
The two then left, closing the door behind them. Charles looked back at me. “Do you want to tell me now?”
“I...I had a nightmare, but it felt like a memory.” I explained.
Charles’s face fell. “Lorna, do you have any memories of who you are?”
I could lie, tell him no, urge him to get lost and not to meddle where he didn’t belong. But I was scared...and I was desperate, desperate for answers. I shook my head. “No...I only know what my father has told me.”
Charles’s face turned cold. “I see...We’ll talk more tomorrow. Try to get some rest. Good night, Lorna. Good night, Logan.”
Charles took off. Jean gave me a look of pity before following Charles. I was now alone with Logan again. I looked at Logan, but before he could say anything, I spoke. “Not another word.”
Logan raised his hands. “Wasn’t gonna. Good night, Lorna.”
“Good night, Logan.” I said, turning my back towards him.
***
The next morning, I was back in Charles’s study. I was sitting in a chair across from his desk. Charles didn’t say a word, only observed me. And it kinda started to freak me out.
“Charles, say something. Anything, please.” I urged. “This is awkward.”
“Forgive me, I was just...thinking.” Charles said.
He then took out of a drawer before placing it on the desk. I looked down to see it was a plaque name.
“Do you remember this?” Charles asked.
I snickered, picking it up. “No, but whoever gave you this is a genius. They got good taste.”
Charles chuckled. “Well, that person was you.”
My eyes widened. “What?”
I looked back down at the plaque name. Suddenly, I wasn’t in Charles’s study anymore.
“You sure this is a good idea, Lorna?” Alex inquired.
“Why not? Professor’s gonna love this.” I said as we walked through the hallways of Xavier’s mansion.
“You couldn’t have gotten him a coffee mug or something else for his birthday like a normal person.” Alex replied.
“In case you don’t realize we aren’t normal, Alex.” I reminded him.
Alex nodded. “Touché.”
“Lorna.” Charles called out.
I dropped the plaque name on the desk. My hands shook. I looked up at Charles.
“You saw something, didn’t you?” He pressed.
I tried to brush it off with a scoff. “And what if I did?”
“Lorna, I’m only trying to help you.” Charles said. “Tell me what you saw.”
“Why don’t you just look into my mind.” I retorted.
“Because I’d rather you tell me.” He urged.
Oh what the hell. I let out a sigh. “A boy named Alex and I were talking about this plaque name thingy that I gave you for your birthday. Apparently, he thought I should’ve gotten you something else.”
Charles chuckled. “But you didn’t. You were always unique. You embraced your gift, which I’m proud of.”
I didn’t know why, but it felt nice hearing those words. I smiled. “Thanks, Charles.”
Charles smiled. “Of course. I just want you to remember. All I ever wanted was the best for you.”
-3rd person p.o.v.-
Sabertooth returned to Magneto’s lair without Lorna. Mystique was the first to greet him. Her yellow eyes looked around. “Where’s Polaris?”
Sabertooth scoffed. “What do I look like? Her keeper?”
Mystique grabbed Sabertooth by his coat. “Where. Is. She.”
“What’s going on?” Magneto’s voice rang out.
He walked towards Mystique and Sabertooth, who was now nervous. Mystique kept her grip on Sabertooth, glaring at him. “This idiot left Polaris behind.”
“She...she was taken by the X-Men.” Sabertooth said.
Magneto’s face fell. Fear was all over his face. It was replaced with anger. He slapped Sabertooth. “You fool of a Sabertooth!”
He turned towards Mystique. “We need her back. Now.”

Chapter 10: Road Trip
I stared at Logan in silence. Logan waved a hand in front of me, looking worried. “Say something, darling. Anything.”
“Sorry, I just didn’t see that coming.” I said. “I thought I fucked it up.”
“You did fuck up, sweetheart. But you apologized, and you helped us get Rogue.” Logan replied.
My eyes lit up. “Does this mean you’ll take me back?”
Logan smirked. “On one condition.”
“Anything.” I replied.
Logan chuckled. “But you don’t know what it is. Could be kinky for all you know.”
I groaned, giving him a punch. “Logan, don’t you dare.”
Logan laughed. He then raised his hands. “Relax, it’s nothing bad, yet. I just wanted to hear you say it.”
I raised an eyebrow. “Say what?”
He gave me a look. And I realized what he meant. My face turned red. “Oh that...”
“I’m waiting.” He teased.
“Oh shut it, I’m going, okay.” I retorted. “…I love you, James. I can’t shake this feeling off no matter what I try to do. And I keep falling deeper in.”
Logan smiled. “Wow. All right, you’re forgiven….right after this.”
I sighed. “Now what, claw-man?”
Logan chuckled. “Glad to see we’re using the nicknames for each other.”
I was about to say something, when Logan then leaned in. Our lips smacked against each other. I sighed, happy to be here with Logan.
***
Logan and I were lying in a bed of a motel room. Our bodies were tangled. My head lied in his bare chest. His arm was around my waist. We lied there in silence.
“So the other night, what did you have a nightmare about?” Logan asked.
“I…well, it was about a baby, two babies. And I think they were our kids, Logan.” I explained, looking up at him.
Logan’s eyes widened. “We had kids?”
“I guess so...but I don’t know if they’re still alive. They were taken to another room, where scientists surrounded them.” I said. “I tried to escape many times, but I failed.”
“Do you think that abandoned base by the Alkali Lake is where you were held?” Logan asked.
I shrugged. “I don’t know. Guess we’ll find out.”
Logan nodded.
“But at least we have each other.” I said.
Logan smiled. “That we do, babe.”
He then leaned down. Our lips met, and I felt like I was a firework that went off, letting out colorful sparks in the air. I didn’t know what would happen in the future, but right now I was happy.
***
While on the road, Logan and I decided to take a break to eat. But instead of pulling into town to the restaurants, he went into the forest. He parked us near a beautiful clear lake.
“What’re we doing here?” I asked.
“We’re gonna have a picnic.” Logan said.
My eyes lit up. “Really?”
He chuckled. “Yeah, darling.”
“What about food?” I asked.
“Already have that taken care of.” He said.
“Blankets?”
“Yep.”
“Drinks?”
“Darling, I have everything under control.” He assured me.
He then reached a hand out, placing it over my thigh. He gave me a warm smile and that was all it took to calm me down. I smiled. “All right.”
When we arrived, we laid out a blanket and grabbed the food and cans of beer. After we eat, we laid on the blanket with our arms wrapped around each other. As we laid here, my mind wandered to a memory, one I didn’t know I had.
Logan and I were lying on the forest ground near a lake. As I laid my head on his chest, I spoke. “If we have kids...we should come up with names.”
Logan chuckled. “We aren’t naming our son, James. That’s for sure.”
I shrugged. “Why not?”
“Trust me, it’s for the best.” He replied, not wanting to talk anymore about it.
“What about Wanda?”
Logan raised an eyebrow. “Why Wanda?”
“How about Wendy?” Logan suggested.
I nodded. “Wendy Howlett. I like it.”
“What about Pete...for a boy?”
“Why Pete?”
“After Peter, you know, the quick kid.”
I chuckled. “Pete Howlett and Wendy Howlett. I love it.”
Logan smiled. “Me too.”
We then leaned in for a kiss, but the image changed. I saw two little kids, a boy and a girl, screaming to the top of their lungs. They looked over at me, begging me to help them. I then saw Stryker’s face. A wicked smile was painted across his face. “They will make excellent weapons.”
The girl’s eyes glowed red as she cried out. “Mom, help us!”
I let out a gasp as I shot up. That must’ve been our kids’ names, assuming they’re still alive. Logan placed a hand on my shoulder.
“Hey, you all right?” Logan asked.
I nodded. “Yeah…I-I just…”
I trailed off, fighting back tears that dared fall from my eyes. Part of me wanted to believe they’re still alive…
“Another memory?” Logan suggested.
“Yeah, it was nice. We were talking about names for our kids…and then it changed. I was in a room, watching our kids, a boy and a girl, screaming, begging for me to help them…” I explained.
Tears fell from my eyes, and I couldn’t speak without letting out a sob. Logan wrapped an arm around me. “Hey, it’s all right. I got you.”
“You think they’re still alive?” I croaked out, burying my head in his chest.
I felt Logan’s muscles tense. But he quickly responded. “We’re going to find out. And whatever happens, we’ll stay together.”
He then planted a kiss on my head, calming me down. We stayed lying there in each other’s arms for hours before getting back in the car, making our way to Canada.

Chapter 11: Back to the Manor
A week went by. We finally reached the base that Charles mentioned. The base was covered in snow and looked abandoned with the exception of a few wolves.
My heart dropped. I don’t understand...Charles said this place would have all the answers. But there’s nothing here. I stood there, staring at the base. Our kids? Are they alive? Are they missing? Dead? My heart ached. I was tired of this. I want answers, and I need them now.
“Hey.” Logan’s voice rang out.
He gently placed a hand around my waist. “Let’s go back to the car.”
“No.” I said.
Logan sighed. “Lorna, there’s nothing here.”
“And we’re just gonna give up? Like that?”
Logan gently placed a hand under my chin, making me look up at his warm honey eyes. “Listen to me, darling. We aren’t giving up. This was our only lead, so we’re going back to the mansion. The Professor will have a plan. He’ll have something, a place, a location, anything.”
He is right. Charles will have answers or at least something that will lead to our past. He hasn’t ever steered me wrong, he has only tried to help. I let out a sigh, leaning my forehead against his.
“Let’s go back then.” I replied.
He placed a kiss to my forehead before leading me back to the car. We returned to the mansion after about a week or more. While on the road, we heard on the radio that a mutant had attacked the President, leaving behind a knife that said mutant freedom now. It was very troubling.
“Logan! Lorna!” She exclaimed, running towards us.
I smiled. “Hey, kiddo.”
Rogue gave Logan and me a hug, making me smile. I was happy to see her. And she looked well. She still had the stripes of white hair from that incident on Ellis Island, which I still felt terrible about.
“You miss me, kid?” Logan asked.
“Not really.” Rogue replied, jokingly.
“Mm.” Logan nodded. “How you doing?”
“I'm okay.” Rogue said.
“How are you?” I said.
Before Rogue said anything, a boy with short blonde hair appeared beside her. Logan raised an eyebrow. “Who's this?”
“Oh, this is Bobby. He's my--” Rogue said.
Bobby cut her off, extending a hand out. “I’m here boyfriend. Call me Iceman.”
“Right.” Logan replied, shaking his hand, which turned into ice.
“Boyfriend?” I said, rather surprised. I smiled. “Good for you, Rogue.”
Rogue smiled back. “Thanks, Lorna.”
“So how do you guys...?” Logan asked, trailing off.
I elbowed his side. “Logan!”
“Hey!” Logan exclaimed, raised his hands.
He looked at me, and I gave him a look. Logan shrugged. “What? I’m just asking.”
“Lorna, it’s totally fine.” Rogue assured me.
“And, well about that part...we're still working on that.” Bobby added.
“You’ll figure it out. I’m sure of it.” I said, trying to comfort them.
“Look who's come back.” Storm’s voice rang out.
She walked towards us with a smile. “Just in time.”
Logan furrowed his brow. “For what?”
“We need a baby-sitter.” Storm said.
“Baby-sitter?” I repeated.
“Nice to see you again, Logan.”
“Hi, Logan.” Jean greeted as she walked down the stairs.
Logan smiled back. “Hi, Jean.”
I felt a twinge of jealously as Jean’s smile widened. I cleared my throat. “Hello to you too, Jean.”
“Lorna.” She said, coldly.
“Uh, I should go and get the jet ready.” Storm said.
She then left. Bobby then spoke. “Yeah, well, it was good to meet you both.”
Bobby gave us one last look before grabbing Rogue’s gloved hand. “Come on. Let's go.”
“Bye, Logan, Lorna. I'll see you later.” Rogue said.
Logan nodded. “Okay.”
Rogue and Bobby then left, leaving Logan and me, and Jean, who walked towards us.
“Storm and I are heading to Boston. We won't be gone long. The professor wants us to track down a mutant who attacked the president.” Jean explained.
“So it was a mutant?” Logan asked.
“You'll be here when we get back―unless you plan on running off again.” Jean replied.
“Well, I can probably think of a few reasons to stick around.” Logan said.
Jean smiled as they stared at each other. My stomach churned. I clenched my fists. I tried to calm myself down. There’s nothing to be jealous, Lorna. Scott then arrived, walking down the stairs. “Find what you were looking for, Logan?”
“More or less.” Logan shrugged.
“I'll see you boys later...and you too, Lorna.” She said, not bothering to look in my direction.
Jean walked towards Scott. “Be safe, okay?”
“You too.”.
They exchanged a kiss. Jean looked back at Logan, smiling. “Bye.”
“See ya.” Logan said.
Jean then left the room, while Scott stood there, staring at Logan. Well, this is awkward. Logan smirked. “Aren't you gonna welcome me home?”
“Yeah, we were expecting a banner, “ I teased,
Logan chuckled, wearing a grin. He then threw the keys at Scott. “Your car needs gas.”
I looked at Logan, surprised. “You took his car?”
Logan shrugged. “Well, no one was using it.”
“I was going to use it!” Scott exclaimed. “It’s my car.”
“Tough luck.” Logan answered.
“You know what. You fill her up then.” Scott shot back, throwing the keys back at Logan.
Logan caught the keys with ease. Scott then walked off. I looked over at Logan, and we let out chuckles. Well, it’s good to be back.
***
Logan and I visited Charles, trying to find answers, but he told us that he couldn’t help. Apparently the mind sometimes needs to discover things for itself. That was bullshit, but Charles left before we could protect. And we were left babysitting the students at the mansion for the night.
Well...how hard could that be?

Chapter 4: Rogue
-Lorna’s POV-
After that morning with Charles, he urged me to stroll around the gardens. But I wasn’t alone. Jean was with me, walking through the gardens. We walked in silence, which I was more than okay with. But after less than five minutes, Jean opened her mouth. “So Magneto’s your father.”
Here we go. I faked a smile, turning to face her. “Yes. So?”
“I didn’t mean anything bad. I...I was just curious.” Jean said.
“He’s the same as any other father who loves his daughter. He’s protective, caring, and wants the best for me.” I retorted. “He’s the same as....”
I then saw a depiction of Charles, a younger one, smiling. “Don’t worry, Lorna. You are welcome to stay with me. You will be safe here, I promise you.”
“Charles...” I whispered in awe.
“Logan.” Jean sighed in relief.
I spun around to see Logan.
“Jean.” Logan greeted, smiling. He looked over at me. “Magnets.”
“Claw-man.” I shot back.
Logan grumbled, glaring at me. Jean spoke up, breaking our little fight. “Logan, can you stay with Lorna? My class is about to start.”
“Oh, no, I don’t think—” Logan started.
But Jean wasn’t taking no for an answer. “Thanks, Logan. See you both later.”
She then walked off. Now it was just Logan and me. Great...We walked side by side in silence. Logan then spoke. “So you lost your memories, too?”
I was prepared to say it was none of his business, but I was surprised. He lost his memories too? I nodded. “Yeah...so I’m not the only one?”
“No, looks like we’re in the same boat.” Logan said, shoving his hands into his pockets.
***
“You wanna take the bed this time?” Logan asked.
I stared at Logan, surprised. “Really? Uh, I mean, duh. I would’ve taken it by force anyways.”
Logan chuckled.
“Sure, darling. Whatever you say.” He said.
I huffed, but remained silent. I grabbed the pillows on the bed, preparing to sleep. I smirked. An idea came to me. I threw one of the pillows at Logan, hitting his head. He spun around, looking at me. I grinned. “Oops. It slipped.”
I turned around to pull back the sheets. Whack! A pillow hit the side of my head. I spun around. Logan smirked. “Oops, it slipped.”
I grinned. “Oh it’s on, claw-man.”
“Bring it on, magnets.” He teased.
I grabbed a pillow, swinging it towards Logan’s head. He took a pillow, hitting my back. I let out a laugh. It wasn’t forced or anything. It was a real laugh. Logan also let out a hearty laugh. It sounded like a beautiful song. We continued to hit one another as we continued laughing, carefree, unaware of the mess we were making.
“Hey!” A voice rang out.
We both spun around to see Jean and Scott, and Charles behind them. I looked back in the room to see the room covered in feathers from the pillows. Logan and I looked at each other. We both blurted out.
“It was his fault.”
“It was her fault.”
“What?!” We both shouted. “No, it was your fault. Stop copying me!”
“Enough!” Charles snapped.
Logan and I both shut up. Charles continued. “You will clean this up now.”
He then left with Jean. Scott snickered. “Nice job, you two!”
Whack! I threw the pillow in my hand, hitting Scott in the face. He stumbled back. I smirked. “Sweet dreams, Cyclops.”
I then slammed the door in his face. I spun around to see Logan staring at me, smiling. I raised an eyebrow. “What? Do I have a feather in my hair?”
He shook his head. “No, it’s nothing.”
He then walked towards the bathroom. I mentally shook my head, walking towards the bed, lying down in the sheets. It wasn’t long until I fell asleep.
I stood on a porch outside a cabin, looking at the moon. I then felt a pair of arms around my waist. I turned my head. To my surprise it was Logan, smiling down at me.
“What’re you doing out here?” He asked.
“Just looking at the moon. It’s beautiful.” I said.
“Yes. She is.” He replied.
I looked back to see him staring at me. “Do you know why the moon is so lonely?”
Logan raised an eyebrow. “What? Why?” “Because she used to have a lover.”
Logan looked amused. He chuckled. “Where did you hear this from?”
“Kayla.” I replied.
“Kayla? Your friend at the school?”
I nodded. “Now will you let me tell you the rest of the story?”
“His name was Kuekuatsheu. They lived in the Spirit World together. And every night they'd wander the skies together. But one of the other spirits was jealous. The Trickster wanted the Moon for himself. So he told Kuekuatsheu that the Moon asked for flowers. He told him to come to our world and pick her some wild roses. Kuekuatsheu didn't know that once you leave the Spirit World, you can never go back. Now he's trapped here. Every night the Moon searches for him, and every night he sees her in the sky and howls her name, but he can never touch her again.” I explained.
I looked back at Logan. He stared at me in awe. “Wow. Koo-koo-ka-choo got screwed.” I let out a laugh. "Kuekuatsheu. It means the Wolverine. The story made me think about you, James.”
Logan groaned. “You know I don’t use that name anymore.”
“But it’s your name. I love it. I love you, all of you.” I said, placing a hand on his cheek.
He smiled. Logan and I leaned in--
I then heard screams, startling me. I woke up to find Logan impaling the mutant girl I was sent to get with his metal claws. She let out a gasp. I stared in horror. “James!”
Logan looked over at me. He had a look on his face, one I didn’t recognize. But it was replaced by a frightened look. “Help! Somebody help!”
“We need help!” I shouted, running towards the door.
I opened the door, finding students outside in the hallway. Scott, Jean, and Storm rushed towards me.
“What’s happening?” Jean wondered.
I then heard Logan gasping. I turned around to see the girl touching Logan. Her scars healed right away, shocking me. And I then realized exactly why father needed her.
“Scott, grab a pillow.” Jean ordered.
“It was an accident.” The girl urged.
“It’s all right, Rogue.” Storm assured her.
So that was her name. Rogue quickly left the room. Everyone took several steps back, frightened. My heart dropped. Poor girl. As I stared back at Logan, who remained unconscious, I remembered what I said...and I remembered that dream...Was it even a dream? Or was it a memory? Charles came in with his wheelchair. His eyes met mine. No...this was all one bad nightmare.
I quickly ran out the door into the hallway. I heard Charles, shouting my name, but I kept running.
-3rd person pov-
Logan groaned as he opened his eyes. “What happened? Is she all right?”
“She'll be all right.” Charles assured him, sitting beside him.
“What did she do to me?” Logan asked.
“When Rogue touches someone, she takes their energy, their life force.” Charles explained. “In the case of mutants, she absorbs their gifts for a while. In your case, your ability to heal.”
“It felt like she almost killed me.” Logan replied.
“If she'd held out any longer, she could have.” Charles said.
Logan looked around, seeing Lorna nowhere. His heart dropped. “Where’s Lorna?”
“She ran out.” Charles responded.
“Why?” Logan asked.
Charles gave him a look that said “you know why.” Logan remembered the name Lorna called him, when she woke up. James...He hadn’t been called that in over twenty years. His heart then dropped. Charles knew what Logan was thinking.
“Go to her.” Charles urged. “But take it easy.”

Chapter 9: The Truth
I wanted to leave, but something held me back. I wasn’t sure why, but I went back to the labs. And that was a mistake. I saw Jean and Logan, laughing and smiling.
My heart broke. Of course…what was I thinking? He would move on, especially after I hurt him so bad. Even if it hurt me, I was happy to see him happy, happier than usual. And I should leave. It was for the best. I left the labs, walking back to Logan’s and my room. All the memories came back to me. Tears fell down my cheeks.
I walked out of the room with a backpack. From the news, I learned that Mystique was still alive, pretending to be Senator Kelly, making him now oppose the Mutant Registration Act. Yet that law still continued to draw support from humans who felt threatened and scared. I then walked out into the hallway to see Rogue. “You leaving?”
I quickly wiped my tears away. I then nodded. “Yeah.”
Rogue raised an eyebrow. “Why?”
“I don’t fit in here, Rogue.” I said.
“But you’re one of us.” Rogue replied.
“Yes, but I’m also one of them...Magneto’s daughter, part of the Brotherhood. An evil monster. The government, the public, they don’t forget any of that stuff.” I argued.
I then heard Charles’s voice in my head. “You are being too hard on yourself.”
Am I? You’ve saw all that I’ve done. Logan will never forgive me for what I’ve done.
“Are you certain about that? Have you even talked to Logan about what you did? And you can prove you’ve changed, Lorna. Stay with us. Show the world that we can change for the better.”
I’m sorry, Charles, but I’ve made up my mind.
Rogue looked sad. “Well, I’m sorry to see you leave.”
“Hey, it’s not the end. I’ll see you again.” I assured her.
“Promise?” Rogue asked.
“I promise, kiddo.” I assured her. “And hey, give Logan a good-bye hug for me, will ya?”
Rogue then took a step forth, hugging me. I was surprised. But I hugged her. I said one last good bye just as I pulled away. I then walked off, leaving the mansion.
-3rd person pov-
Logan, now healed, stood in one of the rooms next to the lab. Charles sat beside a table that showed the abandoned military compound by the Alkali Lake.
“There's an abandoned military compound at Alkali Lake in the Canadian Rockies close to where we found you. There's not much left but...you might find some answers.” Charles explained.
“Thank you.” Logan said.
“Are you going to say goodbye to them?” Charles replied.
Logan thought about it. He wasn’t sure. Maybe it was best he just leave. He wasn’t sure if he wanted to talk to Lorna, especially when she told her father that she felt nothing for him. And that broke his heart. Charles then felt Lorna leaving the mansion. His face fell. So she went through with it.
He was sad to see her go. He wanted her to stay here, to talk to Logan, and resolve their problems. She had been like a daughter to him. Lorna meant the world to Charles.
“You should take Lorna with you.” Charles urged.
Logan scoffed. “Don’t think that’s a good idea.”
“It would benefit her just as much as it would help you with your past. You both need to do this, together.” Charles pressed. “And if this is about what she’s done, talk to her.”
“Fine, where is she?” Logan asked, sighing.
“She’s left the mansion. But she’s hurting.” Charles said. “Talk to her.”
Logan then quickly left. He took a backpack with clothing from his room. He then walked out of the hallways towards the front doors. He then heard Rogue’s voice. “Hey! You running again?”
“Not really. I have some things to take care of up north.” Logan explained.
He then saw strands of Rogue’s hair still white from Magneto’s machine. Logan ran his hands through it, surprised. Rogue shrugged. “I kinda like it. I don't want you to go.”
Logan then took off his dog tag, placing it in her gloved hand. Rogue was surprised. She looked back up at him.
“I'll be back for this.” Logan assured her.
Logan turned to leave. But Rogue spoke. “Oh, Lorna told me to give you a good-bye hug.”
“You talked to her?” Logan asked.
Rogue nodded. “Yeah. She looked very sad. She was crying. Is she all right?”
Logan’s heart dropped. “Don’t worry about her, kid. I’m going after her.”
Rogue raised an eyebrow. “Does this mean you don’t the hug?”
Logan smiled. “I’ll take one, for luck.”
Rogue’s face lit up. After they hugged, Logan then walked out.
-Lorna’s pov-
I continued walking, reaching a road. I walked on the grass. As I walked down the road. A car slowed down. The car then stopped beside me. I was ready to tell him off whatever creep that was. But that’s when I saw who was inside the car.
“Get in the car, magnets.” Logan urged.
“So you can take me back to the mansion? No thanks.” I retorted, continuing to walk.
“I’m not going back. I’m Alkali Lake.” Logan replied.
I raised an eyebrow. “What’re you going up there for?”
“It has to do with our past.” Logan explained. “Charles said it would be best to take you.”
I stopped walking at his words. Logan continued. “...And we still have a lot to talk about it.”
I knew I couldn’t avoid this...But that didn’t mean I wasn’t scared. I wanted to run off, scared I’d make things worse. Charles’s voice rang out in my head. “Go on, Lorna. It will help both Logan and you. Explain everything to him. He’ll understand.”
Do you ever say hello first, Charles? And what if he doesn't?
“He will. Trust me. You and him are more alike than you think.”
I sighed. “Oh what the hell.”
I walked over to the shotgun door, opening it up. I sat down, closing the door. Logan then started the car, driving down the road. We sat in silence. I wasn’t sure what to say or how to say what was going on in my head. And it was painful that it was dead silent. I reached a hand out towards the stereo.
Logan also reached out towards the stereo. His hand touched mine. I felt electricity spark all through me. I pulled my hand away.
“Sorry...” I said.
He remained silent. After a few minutes, he pulled over in forest, surprising me. He turned the car off. He then turned to look at me.
“Listen, as uncomfortable as this is, we gotta talk about it sooner or later.” Logan replied.
He is right. I need to tell him the truth and now. I nodded. “...I was first send with Sabertooth to get Rogue...at the time I didn’t know she was so young or what she was feeling. When I saw your wounds heal quickly, it surprised me...”
“Because it reminded you of your own healing ability?” Logan asked.
I nodded. “Yes, and when I was in the mansion. I wanted nothing more than to leave, but that was before the memories, and before I got to know you. And I feel for you, again. It was hard not to, when you were there for me when I had my nightmares. You were caring, funny, and I’d blind if I didn’t say handsome.”
Logan chuckled. But the smile quickly left his lips. “Why did you betray us?”
“I wasn’t like that, Logan.” I explained. “Mystique was in the mansion, she posed as one of the students, urging Rogue to leave the place. She also came to get me back. But I lied, telling her that Rogue wouldn’t leave, and I would take things into my own hands. But the truth is, I didn’t want to leave...I didn’t leave you, Logan.”
“And why did tell your father that I meant nothing to you?” Logan asked.
“Because you deserve better than me, Logan. You deserve someone like Jean, who’ll make you laugh and smile, not hurt you like I’ve done.” I explained.
Logan’s face fell. “Wait, you think I love her?”
“Well, yeah? Isn’t is obvious? You said your heart belonged to someone else, and I saw you smiling and laughing with Jean in the lab.” I retorted.
Logan shook his head. “I don’t love her, I love you, Lorna.”
My eyes widened, surprised. “What?”
