Gospel turned #RhythmNBlues singer/songwriter #WynonaCarr was born on this day 95 years ago in Cleveland. Though she was largely underappreciated in her lifetime (she passed away in obscurity at age 52), she has earned a growing fanbase posthumously. I would like to open this news feed with one of my mood boosters by Wynona Carr (1924 - 1976) from her Jump Jack Jump! album (Specialty ‎– SPCD-7048-2, Reissue 2004).

Note how marvellously the honest and focused message in the lyrics corresponds to husky and energetic contralto vocals!
