(Some) Faces of the Captain
The Captain, as a TARDIS, possesses the ability to alter their shape to blend in with the environment in which they land. However, unlike older TARDISes which disguise themselves as inanimate objects like telephone boxes, columns or clocks, type 103 TARDISes disguise themselves as walking and talking members of the local population. While they generally default to near-human, or near-Gallifreyan, they can assume any vaguely human-sized form, even those of people they haven't yet met. Descending from a rather unique type 40, they have inherited a tendency to get stuck in, or attached to, certain forms.

The Captain shook their head. Entering another TARDIS was dangerous even under ideal circumstances. The damage they'd suffered was severe, the futures in which they survived so few. If they died within her interior they could kill her as well, tearing her apart from within. They couldn't, wouldn't, take that risk.
"It's too dangerous."
@tttype103 asked: “ is this the part where i’m supposed to be heroic and say it’s just a scratch? ”
"No-" there was a lot of death in the war, there was a lot of brothers and sisters dying. most of them are cowards anyways. but she didn't expect to have any relations past that. having lead to not having. the saddest part of being alive is that it's sad when it's over. "We can't stay here, I cannot help you outside the box."

"Good." The Captain gave a stiff nod.
Something was wrong. They'd been so preoccupied with ensuring the young man was unhurt that they hadn't considered their own state. Normally it wouldn't even have been an issue. At full function they could walk away from an impact at terminal velocity without so much as a scratch.
They weren't fully functional now though. Many of their systems were still damaged since their return from the Void. Including their shields.
Their interior dimension had been breached. Something had pierced their exterior as they rolled across the ground and remained lodged in their console room wall. Coloured glass, rounded, a couple of centimeters across. Luckily it hadn't hit anything vital. They had to remove it before they could repair the damage though.
Looking over their exterior for the offending object, they found it poking out of their side near their back and began reaching down to pull it out.
@tttype103 continued from here
Justino blinked rapidly, trying to clear the disorientation from his mind. His heart was still racing from the near-miss, and he could feel the sting of minor cuts and bruises beginning to throb. He struggled to make sense of the chaotic moment, his gaze shifting from the now-stopped vehicle to the figure who had saved him.
“Uh…” Justino's voice was shaky as he pushed himself up from the pavement, wincing slightly at the aches and scrapes on his body. He met the eyes of his rescuer, “I— I don’t know.”
He ran a hand through his hair, attempting to brush away the dust and debris. “I— I’m okay. I think.”
