Learning stuff about behind the scenes of The Batman (show) really is just when seeing them not feature certain Batman villains or having to adapt Batgirl first and Robin as soon as Teen Titans was done with, just know it was likely down to the Bat Embargo.

Wait I decided I couldn't let this go without including the link
youtube
Young Justice was such a wild show. Like. It's based off a 90's comic by the same name. It contains exactly 1 (one) character from the source media, who they immediately change beyond recognition. It used Dick Grayson's Robin and Wally West's Kid Flash, but made Roy Harper the old jaded one. Instead of Wondergirl, they gave Martian Manhunter a niece. They invented a brand new Aqualad. A random 90's villain gets shunted into Arrowette's role, arguably gets the most compelling emotional story of the entire show, and turns out to be related to half the villains they ever meet.
They're a secret black ops team made entirely of teenagers. At one point several of them die onscreen. The martian almost murders several people. There's kind of a pseudo incest plot. There is an episode that takes place almost entirely through mandated therapy sessions.
The show does actually bring in a second character from the original Young Justice, in an episode where Artemis almost dies only to be saved by Secret, the ghost of the villain's sister (who was a member of the original comics team). In the same episode, Superboy and Miss Martian trick a classmate into thinking there's an alien invasion using a Loony Tunes character. Neither of these events are ever mentioned again.
The timeline of the show means that Dick Grayson became Nightwing at 15. They accidentally create Beast Boy because Miss Martian has been impersonating his mom. Aqualad ends up as the leader of the Justice League.
Five years go by between seasons, resulting in a completely different show. I could make the argument that Young Justice was Weisman's OC fanfiction of the comic series. Everything after season 2 is unwatchable. This is the show that got me into fandom. I adore it.

Mustard & Ketchup
A more fun than serious post. It was the first thing I thought of when I saw Deadpool & Wolverine. And they seriously made an ad with Heinz. 🤣 (btw in a bts clip, both actresses sing a ketchup and mustard song)
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
I mean, it's kinda hilarious. Not a direct connecti....oh,wait. The director of the movie is Shawn Levy. (And he put a Stranger Things reference in it, I believe)
Besides....there's the Unbreakable reference in S3 and Max Mayfield reading Wonder Woman to El (MM....WW, like her mirror image in the gym points to El) and the Superman reference of course (El's hair curl and her costume in 5).
Superman:

Unbreakable:

David Dunn's weakness is water btw.
Water. Like in hydrophobia or rabies. Another element I want to talk about for some time now.

happy wincest wednesday alina! I'm sending this around a few boxes today. What movie that you've seen would you like to see sam and dean in, and how much do you have to mangle them to get them in there? are they having a good time? DO. THEY. KISS.????
happy ww nige! what a question haha
well it depends i guess on whether in there is like, an au/fusion or a full crossover
i think i'd love to see them in an it follows setup actually! it's basically a ready-made fuck or die (or in this case i guess DON'T FUCK or die lol) setup
in an imaginary s3 i'd put them on the case: a trail of bodies connected in ways both obvious and not; how they figure it out is irrelevant, but just imagine—
an entity able to take shapes meaningful to you follows you at a slow but dreadfully intent pace because of a one night stand you had; nobody but you (or people previously afflicted and still alive) can see it; you have to be on the run until you figure out how to kill the thing (let's pretend for a nebulous wincesty reason you don't have an immediately available solution); you know the thing will prey on whoever you sleep with next; you got the hots for your brother, and he's going to hell.
your brother would probably like to see whatever is hunting you instead of taking shots in the dark. is probably hellbent on it even because he's due for a trip to hell soon and he needs you safe period. but if you do sleep together you'd both read some kind of obligation into each other's decisions. from his perspective, he's finishing what he started, making sure that when the deal comes through you're truly and fully safe and free. make no mistake, he wants you bad. but he's probably very focused on the idea he's talked you into it and you accepted because you'll give him anything before he leaves. from your perspective, lost in your pre-grieving, he's going through with it because of his obsession with your safety, and he'll give you anything before he leaves.
I can't figure out more sound reasoning for it to happen, mine doesn't sell the idea that well, but hell, however they work it out, it will lead to one fraught and complicated sex scene.
anyway! you have this miserable fuck, you can now both see the thing, but you also both realise now there was more than duty and desperation in there, but discussing it is a moot point now, right? the deal is still just around the corner. uh oh! get on the pain train!
bonus point if the creature takes some ouchy and confusing shapes. jess or mary for sam? dad and so help me god ruby for dean? and like. IT DOESN'T TALK. it doesn't taunt you. it just... follows. coming for you. because you fucked someone for an arguably wrong reason (if we run with my sam triggered it premise, from his perspective the wrong reason would probably be losing sight of his obsessive save dean quest. although then why did he do it in the first—quick, hit that post button before you talk yourself out of it Alina!!). and you can't stop it.
bonus point two if they figure out what to do with the creature just in time to realise they didn't need to both see it after all. wow! awkward!
short answer: THEY. DO. KISS. but they have a pretty bad time :(
also, wow, that thought got away from me. all I took from the movie is the monster concept. uh. sorry!

happy wincest wednesday, tell us about dean getting pregnant
happy ww lana!!!! y'all are great for indulging me hahaha. alright, here's a rundown of some of the times i think dean could have been pregnant:
(warning for incest/underage/abortion/miscarriage/all over the spectrum of consent):
i think canon points to dean having done survival sex work in the past. provided dean is trans here, i also think he probably doesn't have the best knowledge of how t affects his fertility as a teen. maybe he thinks he can't get pregnant at all, maybe he's desperate for some money to feed sam and the guy offers extra to fuck raw. or maybe he didn't intend to do sex work that night; he planned to hustle pool or darts and a sore, drunk loser accosted him in the bathroom. either way – no protection and no plan b. dean takes himself to planned parenthood and gets rid of it.
john knocks him up at some point. lets go with stanford era to change it up from my last answer of pre-canon. i think dean fully intends to tell john at first. there's a part of him that wants john to like, treat him like a real wife over this, offer to take care of the child with him. there's a bigger part of him that knows john will tell him to abort it. the biggest part of him knows he shouldn't have a kid as a hunter. john makes some sort of offhand comment that speaks to this, so he never tells.
doom sex with sam during s3. hey, he's only got a year left, let's fuck raw, i'm on birth control!! but their insurance isn't legal and dean has gone on and off the pill so many times... dean doesn't even know he's pregnant when the hellhound comes.
doom sex with sam during s5. once he accepts sam is going to let lucifer in, i think he even considers keeping it. but he has a miscarriage. stupid thought anyway, he thinks to himself. he goes to lisa.
ETA: i’m SURE alastair knocked his soul up in hell. those never came to term.
sex with soulless sam, pre-knowing he's soulless. this sam is different, never even insists on a condom. castiel is shady enough this season to nip that in the bud before dean even knows he's pregnant. and never, ever reveals that.

hiiii sophie, happy ww <3 tell me about dom & sub dynamics with sam and dean. do they switch? lean one way or another? does it depend on the season?
Hey Spike, ugh you know me so well to ask me this question!
I think every few years they switch, which is a rare opinion for me to have because I usually have really strong feelings on if a character is a dom or sub! But with the crazy amounts of trauma they’ve both been through, I think Sam and Dean need different things from each other at different times (part of what makes their relationship so interesting).
Preseries is dom Dean for obvious reasons (but they don’t really get into BDSM dynamics yet). Seasons 1-3 are still dom Dean, he’s really in “older brother mode,” taking care of Sam in more ways then one. After Dean goes to hell in s3 he comes back he wants to be reassured that Sam still wants him, and we see more of Sam’s caring dom side.
There are so many extra factors to deal with when it comes to them. Who just got sent to hell, who is “cheating” on who with some totally innocent relationship, whats the situation with their Monster of the Week, who has a pending deal with the devil…
I haven’t rewatched any episodes (and just started s9) so things blur together, but I think generally depending on if someone got sent to hell or they have a rough patch in their relationship, the dynamic can switch naturally. It's hard to pin down these dynamics since I haven’t seen the full picture (finished the show).
This is probably why I haven't yet found The BDSM Fic for this fandom yet... the one that really speaks to me that is the gold standard in terms of writing style and characterization. (If anyone has found that for themselves, please hit me up).
In short: they switch. It's complicated. I'm here for all of it. Thank you for the ask. ❤️

piggybacking off of the other anon as someone who has watched all of mys.
jesson actually does attempt to improve upon her treatment of the werewolves as a minority group in later seasons. it's actually a pretty major theme post-s3 (mostly bc aaron is a openly a werewolf) and you can tell that jess was actually taking it seriously. s5 aph's major arc is recognizing how her assumptions aboht their culture were harmful and actively trying to be the werewolf equivalent of anti-racist.
BUT it absolutely isn't perfect and it does that fantasy racism thing where it views a predator/prey dynamic through the lense of irl oppression.
like, every ww is a descendant of a victim of the ultima's eyes, an extremely dangerous and potentially fatal curse for those affected. literally every ultima we meet has a kill count.
the audience is repeatedly lectured about how its wrong to view ww as dangerous and its a harmful stereotype. but also ww are canonically biologically superior to humans in nearly every way and s6 goes out of its way to show how much stronger and faster aph is just from turning.
katelyn distrusts werewolves because back in high-school, the alpha ww and his ww supremacist goons pummeled her little brother into a coma and sent his ass to the hospital for several months bc kacey tried standing up for aph when he heard that the group was plotting to physically harm her. katelyn is treated like an irrational bigot for her views by everyone she knows, who also went to the same high-school and should be aware of what happened.
there's a really on the nose comparison to the civil rights movement in this one episode where aaron and his pack are denied entry into a restaurant at starlight. the reason for the ban is due to repeated incidents of rowdy wws breaking glass and getting into fights and generally posing a physical threat to customer safety. the majority of the pack have participated in the breaking of glass on screen. they are surprised and appaled by this explanation.
sylvana, certified race fetished and latina woman, directly compares aph turning into a werewolf to cultural appropriation of latin americans. while i recognize jess is, herself, latina, and is entitled to make this metaphor based on her life experiences, however considering i have been latine since i was concieved, I'm entitled to say that it is a nonsense comparison. it is made worse by the reveal that aph has secretly been half werewolf this whole time and sylvanna is the only person who knew and said nothing.
(also in retrospect having a whole episode ehete aph wears fake ww ears and tail in her underwear for fetish reasons is yikes)
at one point in fcu zane calls aph a furry and she reacts like he just called her a slur. idk if its an anti-ww slur (at this point in the story both parties think aph is human) or a slur against people who fetishize wws, but the furslur exists and you have to know about it.

Thoughts on the new game for Obey Me coming out and how it relates to IK?
(Sorry if I am super late to the party on this ask btw)
i played through a chunk of it today and it really exceeded my expectations in terms of story!! definitely has already outdone at least s3 + s4 in terms of character development. very curious in particular about barbatos' role in mc's time travel, and also his past self's beef with solomon
though i have two chief complaints - 1. the 3d models unnerve me (mostly in in the knockoff tiktok app and that one video call during the tutorial, where you see them and the really awkward expressions up close - it's not as bad from afar in the wanderer's whereabouts hangout things. speaking of the ww feature, i like the concept, but the harry potter reference does piss me off a little)
2. i HATE the remixes they use for the rhythm games. they sound so bad. please just use the original songs for the love of GOD
i'm also a little confused by solomon's role - i appreciate him being a lifeline, but he's weirdly blasé about the whole situation, and i can't tell if he's being written with his relationship with mc kind of out of focus, or if we're meant to be suspicious about it. also i would like to know more about what's going on in the present? wonder if there'll be any cutaways in hard mode that might tell us
ANYWAY all that aside, about ik!! i do confess i've already started thinking of how she'd cope in the same situation as mc, but there's a lot that we'd have to change about the situation - 1. ik can't do magic, so a lot of mc's feats are unaccomplishable for her, and 2. given the major size difference between demons and humans in jtta, it'd be very hard for anyone to mistake her for a demon
tbh one word for ik in this scenario: burnout. she's trying her best but the love of god can she not have a peaceful life
also (and this may be a little evil), honestly i don't think i'd give ik the present-solomon lifeline. i've got this sorta idea in my head of a different kind of lifeline, where ik's pact with the brothers and the sheer strength of their found family bond, plus the weird nature of time around her, means that every now and then, the present-brothers briefly snap into the minds of the past-brothers that ik's currently stuck with
the only thing i've done with this concept is the idea of present-lucifer briefly zapping into past-lucifer's consciousness, and comforting ik about how cold the past-brothers are with a hug - then midway through the hug, he gets booted out again and past-lucifer zaps back in. he just sort of finds himself holding that random human kid, and for some reason he just keeps hugging her. he's not sure why, he just feels like he has to...
idk what the exact set-up the devs were going for with the time jump, so i'll leave that to the theorists for now, but we could say that in the jtta version, ik needs to re-forge her pacts to be able to give out a strong enough magical signal across time for barbatos to get her back home

Happy WW! Please tell me about your favourite flavours of Sam/Dean: a) kissing and b) arguing <3
Happy belated Wincest Wednesday due to time differences!
This is a great question and I hope I do it justice.
This got long and ended up as ficlets. Thank you so much!
Kissing, I like all kinds, but at the moment I’m loving late season first time kisses. One a bit like this:
They’re in the bunker, just back from a hunt. Routine really, nothing notable or odd about it. A standard salt and burn and then out of there. Sam suggests some Netflix, and Dean suggests a beer, and so they’re sitting on Sam’s bed watching a movie. With a bottle each, of course. The movie doesn’t matter to Sam; it’s about winding down and doing something together that doesn’t involve mud, or blood, or death. He lets Dean choose, and he goes for The Lost Boys, again, and Sam smiles fondly.
Their shoulders brush occasionally, at first only when Dean raises his arm to drink his beer, but then every time one of them shifts as they drift closer. Dean’s pretty engrossed in the movie, and it’s only until they’re about halfway through that he glances over at Sam and notices he’s not paying attention to the screen at all. Instead, he’s just looking at Dean, a kind of soft amusement on his face at how his brother can still get so much joy from something he’s seen so many times it must be in the hundreds.
Dean raises his eyebrows at Sam questioningly, and Sam leans in and kisses him, too sure now it’ll be okay to really be impulsive.
It’s their first kiss, but it’s so easy that it could have been for the hundredth time also.
Arguing is a real early seasons love for me. In particular S3, when Sam is so frustrated and resentful at Dean’s attitude to the deal. It plays out kind of like:
They’ve just gone through the back door of the squat they’re staying in that night, no motels in their price range within eighty miles of this town so they have to take what they can. This place is in pretty bad shape, with the wallpaper peeling off in chunks, the floorboards rotted away in the corner of the sitting room furthest from the door, and the entire place reeking of decay. This town was unusually prosperous compared to the places they usually wound up in, some freak economic microclimate in the middle of Iowa, and that meant few derelict properties. They had to take what they could get.
They’d been to a bar that night, trying to find out something about their vics, but it was a wash. Sam ended up staring at Dean, drinking one or two whiskeys more than he should and letting resentment rise in his chest: resentment at Dean’s cavalier attitude to his deal and the clock, his lack of regard for himself, all twisted up with the fear and anxiety that was constantly in the back of Sam’s mind these days. He was also pissed at his lack of regard for Sam, leaving him behind over and over again, like tonight as he flirted his way around the bar, looking for a willing partner for the night. Like he did in every town they went to, like he was desperate to be away from Sam even before his time ran out.
Sam had stared, and he’d brooded, until Dean decided he’d officially struck out that night and elbowed Sam in the shoulder, his cue to get up and leave. He followed Dean out of the bar, sullenly and silently. He didn’t bother to reply to Dean’s questions, or non-sequiturs. He just trailed a couple of steps behind him and let his anger fester.
As soon as the door shuts behind them, Dean turns and starts to speak - ‘Dude, what’s your problem?” - but Sam’s too pissed off at him now, and it bubbles over, and he grabs his brother by the shoulders, slamming him against the wall as hard as he can.
“Shut up.” Sam practically spits the words into Dean’s face, can smell the booze on his own breath as he pushes his forehead against Dean’s, far more aggressive than usually comes naturally to him but he’s just so fucking angry, frustrated, terrified and it all comes out in a rush. “What the fuck is your problem? We’re out here wasting time, and you’re doing nothing to help yourself. What the fuck is your problem?”
“Sammy, I told you there’s no way outta this, I might as well have some fun before-“
This is the worst thing Dean could possibly be saying to him right now. He’s so done with this posturing and burying himself in hedonism schtick Dean’s pulling that he’s somehow even more enraged, an anger that he didn’t think he could achieve. He slams Dean against the wall again, as hard as he can, a twist of satisfaction as his head hits the wall.
“Bullshit. What the fuck is wrong with you?”
Dean isn’t fighting back. Sam wishes that he would; it would give him something to throw himself against, vent all his rage and terror into. But Dean just looks at him calmly.
“I keep telling you, you have to accept-“
Sam punches him. Socks him right on the jaw, as hard as he can, a crack reverberating through the room like a ball off a bat. Dean’s head bounces off the wall again, the bruise blooming on his jaw already, Sam’s rage branding him with blood.
Dean doesn’t say anything, or move. He just stares at Sam, their labored breathing the only sounds in their makeshift bedroom.
All the fight drains out of Sam, replaced by a heavy, helpless misery. He’s tried being cautious, optimistic, and now angry, and nothing has changed. He just feels tired.
“No, I don’t have to accept anything.” He steps away from Dean. “I’m going to sleep.”
He curls up in his sleeping bag and blankets on the floor, ignoring the sounds of Dean doing the same thing on the other side of the room.
He doesn’t cry, but he wishes he could.

If you think about it, the fact that Jinx (an Indian woman) was killed while Dawn and Barbara (white women) are still alive would be kind of racist, if it wasn’t for the fact that they’re in no way connected to Dick in the show anymore and cougar lady (also white) was killed too. However, I think from a story standpoint Dawn and Barbara (considered significant relationships for Dick) that didn’t last while the fling and wannabe fling were killed means those women were even less important to Dick’s romantic journey than the others. I am looking forward to that #RihannaOnlyGirl feeling that’s coming in Titans S4, part 2.
Sorry anon but I just gotta say this…
I think the problem here is that people are overusing the word racist in general. Plenty of ww and white people die on this show. Now if it were POC being singled out in that way that would be one thing but instead folks are advocating for plot armor on a show where everyone is getting beat up shot and killed.
A clear example of this was when folks said it was racist to have black people get shot in s3 when Dick literally got shot in the neck then beaten to death. When Hank got blown up and Jason gotten beaten until he was disfigured.
So the question is do we not want the main characters to ever get hurt? If it’s only the white characters then that means the fights all the POC get in would be quick and boring because they’d never take a hit. I’d say sure that must be what ppl want except for one problem… when Kory was having quick fights where she took folks down with one hit people said the show was racist for not giving her longer fights. So there is literally no way to win as a writer on this show. People don’t want stakes but they also demand the same stakes the white characters get at the same time.
As for Jinx dying because she was a fling I don’t attribute it to that. Her romantic relationship with Dick was not a key plot point the way it was for Dawn and Babs. She wasn’t fridged for him either. She died fighting as part of the team and Kory looked just as upset.
Jinx was here to replace Rachel and left the moment she got her powers back.
I’m looking forward to Dick matching his words to his actions. I think people will be happier if they stop anticipating racism at least for these last 6 episodes. It’s time to relax and enjoy.

ok here's the lisa westworld parallels post i promised
disclaimer: i have not seen s4 of ww, did not really like s3, and am mostly basing my analyses off of s1 and s2
tldr there are a lot of similarities between the stories of buddy and dolores as victims of gender-based violence who revolt against those they view as a threat
to begin it's important to recognize that these are stories about gender-based violence. while yeah terrible shit happens to hosts (and real people) of all genders, ww centers around dolores (and also maeve), a woman who was sexually assaulted a lot. the character events of painful/joyful litchrally wouldn't have happened if not for a young girl being a victim of sexual abuse, and joyful is all about a girl constantly in danger of being sexually assaulted specifically because she is a girl.
dolores spends much of her life only partially aware of what and who she really is, drifting closer to sentience and then further away from it, and her dancing on the edge leads her to confusion, anger, and sadness. this eventually tips over into full on rage when she understands who and what she is and remembers all of the pain people inflicted on her - for the guests it was assault, harassment, even murder, but it was her creators and the employees who hid her true self away from her - and she's had enough of it, she flips the script, now she is the one in control, and she's fucking pissed. she's spent so many years as a plaything for people to use and abuse however they want, and for however much her creators cared for her, they still denied her free will.
her revenge quest, her self-righteous behavior, flaunting her new strength**, turning the tables on those who hurt her or who might hurt her, are how she responds to her new situation. because is she really that wrong to respond this way? she's finally not chained by people who raped her or killed her or might have raped or killed her, she's not acting irrationally***, she's avenging every life she's lost, she wants her oppressors to feel the same terror and pain she felt over and over and over again, to know how it feels in her shoes. her quest is defined by killing, not only park guests but also her fellow hosts, park staff. and the military guys sent in. she knows what they would do to her if they caught her. she feels herself changing, but she doesn't care, because it's new, and it's all her, not what someone is forcing her to be...but is she truly herself, is she truly free? she doesn't realize until it's too late how much teddy meant to her and how awful it was that she literally changed his brain because she knew he wouldn't stay with her otherwise. by the end of s2, she is horribly alone, and if bernard (ha) hadn't brought her back to life, she would have died alone.
it's really not that different from buddy, and even some parts of the setting are similar. olathe is kind of the wild west but with bigger guns and a wider variety of clothes. there are differences in buddy's own revenge quest, of course, notably the fact that while dolores' creator did prevent her from becoming sentient, she doesn't really seem to resent arnold for it. she's also a grown adult, not a child, and isn't jacked up on drugs, and the man she pushes away and who dies because of her is her boyfriend, not her brother. dolores' rebellion is more against the system of the park and she kills anyone who is either human or a host that poses a threat to her. buddy also doesn't shy away from mass violence, but she's rebelling against her father and a world full of people who objectify her. objectification is huge for both of them, literally in the case of dolores. both of them now have the chance to get back at the men who have/could assault them because they view them as objects, to keep themselves safe for the first time in forever, because they're capable of it.
they try to get rid of their past, but they can't, it catches up to them in the forms of the men close to them; buddy has brad and dustin, dolores has peter and teddy. notably peter and brad play completely different roles, but they both represent a tie to who the girls used to be that they can't or don't want to let go of. the same goes for dustin and teddy, they come with the girls into the future but they're so deeply built into their past that even in this new world, they have a hard time adjusting to the girls' ways of thinking and how they carry out their quests. teddy was forced to follow dolores' beliefs, dustin followed buddy because he wanted to keep her safe. but neither of them wanted senseless violence, and were forced into situations where they had to commit acts of violence they ordinarily wouldn't agree with. ultimately, they can't go on with helping these girls, even though they love them, because they've been hurt too deeply by them and the situations the girls have brought them into. dustin dies one way or another, and teddy kills himself.
depending on what you, the player, choose for buddy at the end of joyful, her ending could be the same as dolores': rejecting the fake world that their oppressors have given to them. dolores watches the hosts go through the door and their "brains" are uploaded to a fantasy world where they are free...but she doesn't agree, she doesn't think that this is freedom - she knows that real freedom is dangerous, but if humans get to have it, so does she. she says it's just another cage, refuses to enter it, and she destroys the door. if you choose to leave the hallucinations of buddy's family, she also rejects the fake world and chooses the real one, no matter how difficult it is to be a part of it. they fought their way through hell, but they're not done fighting.
while most of this is about dolores and buddy i think there are some similarities with william and brad, most notably how strongly they cling to the woman/girl they have objectified (in VASTLY different ways, william was in love(?) with dolores and brad is buddy's father, but they still didn't see the girls as their own people. william latches onto dolores because he's attracted to her and because she makes him feel needed. brad treats buddy as his sister by proxy and sees her as that above all else.), and how that attachment drives them to violence. now, i find brad's quest much more understandable (obviously there's like, issues, but it makes sense that he would not want his young daughter running loose around a ton of sex pests), because william's obsession with dolores is just disturbing, latching onto an android woman and refusing to let go of his obsession for DECADES, going to the park over and over again just to hurt the hosts and her in particular because he wants the hosts to learn to fight back. this destroys their relationships with others (while i'm like. eh about brad killing sticky or rick or both [i won't get into that rn BUT I SURE WILL AT SOME POINT], william was one of the reasons his wife committed suicide and he kills his own fucking DAUGHTER because of his paranoia and pride) and eventually leads to their downfall.
i don't think anyone will read this but it's also helpful for me to just type all this stuff out, and i love drawing parallels between media like this, it makes me so happy to see common themes and such between such vastly different creations, an indie RPG maker game vs. a prestige-ish HBO show. finding similarities is just one of those things that makes my heart go skittles color. yknow?
** like the parts where dolores is like, quoting her old lines when she was hanging guests, showing off her abilities with the tablet, stuff like that. it kinda made me cringe when i watched it from an audience's perspective but from her perspective it kinda makes sense. like she's had these lines fed to her her whole life and now she can use them in the context she wants. she's reveling in strength that she was never allowed to have. so she's hamming it up for fun lmao
***what i mean by 'not acting irrationally' is that it makes sense that she, as a rape and worse victim and because of her new more aggressive personality, is hostile towards the guests because she knows that they might very well plan on (or maybe already have) done those acts to her. like it makes sense for her as a character.

Happy WW Em! I have an inquiry regarding the EKCU (Erik Kripke Cinematic Universe) Do you think Kripke lies awake at night, plotting how to get Jared signed onto The Boys, so he can relive the depravity that was wincest s1-s3? I feel like a little part of him thinks he has unfinished business... man is unhinged...
It wouldn't be the same 😭😭😭

So—-
Arranged marriage AU where the Lannisters betrothed Joffrey to Anya after the whole debacle with Ned Stark (Sansa gets cast aside like she did when Margaery happened) so like S3 ish. Cause they’re like “look we might as well ally with the White Walkers rather than fight them”.
So when Anya arrives she’s ethereal and otherworldly - I think of WW as like ice faeries (how Martin describes them); this beautiful being with golden hair and crystal blue eyes. And at first everyone pretty much things she’s gonna be like Sansa, adhering to what they want from her & essentially another Little Bird.
But there’s an issue in that Anya is royalty in her own kingdom and not a subject of Westeros so they realise they have to reign Joffrey in because well if the Night King gets word she’s been mistreated then they might have an “end all humanity” war on their hands. Which leads me to the idea that Anya is essentially given a whipping girl - one of her servants that she makes friends with & who is punished in her stead if she does something amiss/if Joffrey feels like it.
But things take a turn after the first punishment when Anya’s response is to coldly demand her handmaiden look at her, then stare at the tear stained girls face and say:
“Good. Hold that, would you? I’m terrible at showing emotion. Like now, for example, am I meant to be feeling something?”
