SVSSS AU where Shen Yuan's younger sister does a villainess transmigration.
The world she ends up in was originally a dating game and visual novel with some light RPG and crafting elements. Playing as purehearted main girl Qiu Haitang, one could choose any number of routes to pursue, from dashing Liu Qingge, to scholarly Mu Qingfang, sexy ice demon Linguang Jun, cute-but-domineering younger half-demon Luo Binghe, and so on. It was an interesting game, though it notoriously inspired some frustration when some of the more interesting side characters (like Yue Qingyuan) were completely unavailable as romantic options, and inspired at lot of rumors about hidden content and demands on future DLC expansions.-
Shen Meimei hadn't particularly liked the game. Sure, she played every route to 100% completion, bought all the extras, the official soundtrack, and the merch (fanmade as well as what slim-pickings existed officially), but that shouldn't be mistaken for approval. Much of that was in fact a desperate quest to figure out what the hell was even going on! Ignore the play time listed for this scathing Steam review, everyone! It shouldn't be factored into any assessments!
The game had several problems, in Shen Meimei's opinion.
The main issue was the lack of follow-through on the buildup of the backstory. Qiu Haitang's whole family was killed one night, maybe-probably by her sketchy as fuck ex-fiancee, who was also a hostage being kept by the Qiu family as leverage against a rival family. Which begged so many questions! Shen Meimei had suspected all along that there was more to it than met the eye (not just because the evil family shared her surname) but it was never deeply delved into. The whole thing only even got resolution in some of the routes, and the most thorough was Luo Binghe's. Luo Binghe had a huge vendetta against Shen Qingqiu, Haitang's sketchy former fiance, which left a lot of room for doubt about his investigating the issue. Was Shen Qingqiu really to blame? Or was Luo Binghe just taking advantage of an opportunity to pin SOME crime on him, since he couldn't really get him for the shit he actually did to Luo Binghe himself? What about the hints regarding that Wu Yanzi guy? Why did those never seem to amount to much? Were the Qiu family really stupid enough to betroth their only daughter to a hostage, or was something else going on? And what about Xiao Qi, the slave boy servant of the Qiu who was mentioned a few times as another possible survivor or witness, but who never comes up again?
Shen Meimei played through everything, certain that there had to be some way to actually solve or gain clarity on the Mystery of the Qiu Family Murders, but even after completing the main routes and unlocking and completing the hidden ones -- nothing! It was all just swept aside in favor of tepid romance arcs, made all the more insufferable because of the compelling subtext between the male love interests. Like, why were any of these guys even interested in Haitang when they so clearly had more going on with each other?
Annoyance over a game Shen Meimei lost too many hours of her life to was one thing, of course.
Transmigrating into the younger sister of notoriously sketchy ex-fiance Shen Qingqiu was another!
Bad news: in the routes where Shen Qingqiu is prosecuted for his crimes, his whole family goes down with him. So if this goes poorly, not only will he be punished, but so will Shen Meimei!
Worse news: this fictional version of her family is almost identical to her actual real family. To the point where she would be checking everyone else for transmigration, except that no one but her seems aware that anything is odd. Shen Qingqiu acts exactly like her older brother, right down to his particular flavor of prickly social behavior and cynicism. And their middle brother is a chronically ill nerd who hate-reads trash novels and is completely fascinated by weird monsters (a much more worrisome trait in a world that actually has a lot of those...)
In short, her life is on the line, and so is her family's!
Damn you, Veiled Heroine Games! If you hadn't abandoned so many plot threats, Shen Meimei might actually know what was going on and be able to neatly circumvent everything! But now she has to figure out how to win the protagonist back over, rescue her brothers, and solve (and possibly further cover up...) the mysterious Qiu family murders, all while keeping Luo Binghe away from Shen Jiu, and preventing Qiu Haitang from completing any of the romance plotlines that will cause troubles for them! Which is most of them!

Why Jiang Cheng is more like Shen Jiu than Liu Qingge: An Essay
1. Anger
All three characters are almost completely defined by their anger or aggressive natures. Both jc and lqg have similar expressions of their anger: they attack and lash out with their weapons and shout and yell. Their anger is loud. Sj's anger is quieter, more passive aggressive than explosive. He won't unsheathe Xiu Ya but will rather lash out with scathing words and insults. However, despite the difference in outward expression, sj and jc's anger serves the same purpose: a shield/mask to hide behind and protect their true emotions with. Lqg's anger doesn't serve a purpose like jc and sj's. His anger simply is.
Both jc and sj have, notably chosen, older brother figures that broke a promise to them and that they feel betrayed by, giving both deep abandonment and trust issues. For jc, it is Wei Wuxian and him leaving the Jiang Sect in order to protect the Wen remnants in the Burial Grounds. For sj, that's Yue Qingyuan and him not coming back in time to rescue sj from the Qiu household. It can be argued that Yue Qingyuan didn't break his promise as he did try, but sj didn't know that. In contrast, lqg is the older brother in his family and seems to have a good relationship with his younger sibling.
2. Older Brother Figures
3. Fire
Both jc and sj have fire and their "homes" being burned down as significant features in their backstories. For jc, that's the Wen's burning down Lotus Pier. For sj, that's him burning down the Qiu estate. Different circumstances, yes, but significant nonetheless. While we know little of lqg's backstory, fire is likely not a significant factor.
4. Villain
At least in the English speaking side of mdzs and svsss, both jc and sj are not widely liked or held in high regard. If you only take the protagonists' at their word and don't consider how the narrators may be unreliable, biased, or have missing information, you will likely see both of them as villains or at least antagonists within their respective stories. They're characters that, if you like them, you tend to sympathize with them and look at story events from their perspectives rather than from the perspective of our protagonists.
5. Rumours
Both jc and sj are the subjects of horrible rumours within their respective stories. While jc's, regarding him torturing demonic cultivators, are unknown if they're true or false, we have nothing to confirm they are and sj's rumours were proven false once Shen Yuan learned more about him. Regardless of the truth of the rumours, neither contested the rumours themselves and instead let them fester, possibly for strategetic reasons. Neither seems to mind ruining their own reputations if it will benefit something or someone else.
6. Cats
In fandom content, both are often compared to cats and portrayed with a hot/cold personality. They both are fairly prickly, deeply distrust other people, and tend to keep to themselves.
7. Ships
Both have fairly popular ships pairing them with one of the most powerful cultivators of their generations who wears a lot of white, are sect leaders, and whose sects are located on mountains. Yes, this is a silly reason but why not.
8. Demonic Cultivation
Both have ties to notable demonic cultivators of their worlds, though their situations are different. Sj with his time "studying" under Wu Yanzi and jc with Wei Wuxian. They also are notably said to have killed these demonic cultivators, though jc didn't actually do so while sj did.
—
I think lqg and jc get compared because people see them both as tsunderes, but i don't think there's anything tsundere about lqg at all actually. Lqg doesn't necessarily deny his feelings, he just doesn't always confess them in words either
#mxtx mdzs#mxtx svsss#jiang wanyin#liu qingge#shen jiu#mxtx#svsss#mdzs#i'm being silly and this was written for fun but i also accept no criticisms

stardust_falling 2023-24 Gift and Giveaway Fics Masterpost!
While SVLPO has been on hiatus, I've participated in several gift exchanges and also written three fics for a follower milestone giveaway, so I decided I would go ahead and list them all in one big post!
SV Summer Solstice Exchange:
Mirror's Reflection
Pairing: Shen Jiu/&PIDW!Native Shen Yuan Rating: M (read warnings!) Length: 63k
After killing his cruel shifu at the Immortal Alliance Conference, Shen Jiu rejects Yue Qingyuan’s attempts to bring him to safety and flees the conference. By chance, while fleeing the cultivation world’s pursuit of Wu Yanzi’s accomplice, he happens to run into a boy who shares his face and surname. This boy, Shen Yuan, is nothing like Shen Jiu— he’s the third young master of a wealthy family, who has lived his life without a single moment of hardship, and spends his days reading novels and daydreaming about traveling the world. Shen Jiu, jealous of his double’s easy life, is surprised and a bit baffled to find that Shen Yuan is discontent with living his life safely inside the walls of his family’s manor, and even a bit jealous of Shen Jiu’s ability to go where he pleases and do what he wishes without worrying about his family’s reputation or concerns. After Shen Jiu is mistaken for the lookalike by members of Shen Yuan’s own household, he proposes an solution: that the two switch places, letting Shen Jiu live Shen Yuan’s comfortable, idle life while the other boy travels the world.
SV Winter Solstice Exchange:
Basic Instincts
Pairing: Gen Luo Binghe & Sha Hualing & Mobei-jun, background Luo Binghe/Shen Qingqiu Rating: T Length: 5k
Keeping the demon world from collapsing into shambles isn't an easy task. Sometimes, Sha Hualing needs to let out a bit of pent-up tension with a nice friendly brawl against her fellow rulers.
QiJiu Secret Santa Exchange:
The Weight of a Promise
Pairing: Yue Qingyuan/Shen Jiu (pre-slash) Rating: M (read warnings!) Length: 27k
Yue Qi made a promise, and he will do whatever it takes to keep it-- even if he nearly destroys himself in the process.
At Cang Qiong Mountain's sword trials, Yue Qi rashly draws the ancient, powerful Xuan Su sword from Wan Jian Peak. He hopes that such a powerful weapon will give him the strength he needs to rescue and protect the friend he left behind, but when the backlash of a failed sword bond nearly costs him his life, he learns that impulsive decisions can have far-reaching consequences.
SV System Server CNY Exchange:
Counterfeit Jade
Pairing: Luo Binghe/Shen Qingqiu, referenced Yue Qingyuan/Shen Jiu Rating: M (non-explicit sex) Length: 11k
Shen Qingqiu would have been perfectly content to live the rest of his life as Shen Qingqiu, thank you very much. Unfortunately, the system had other ideas. It seemed that Shen Qingqiu— no matter which soul had donned this persona— was doomed to have the secrets of his past dragged out into the open and laid bare for everyone to see.
100-Follower Milestone Giveaway:
Twists of Fate
Pairing: Shang Qinghua/Shen Jiu (pre-slash) Rating: T Length: 8k
Airplane Shooting Towards the Sky's one goal as Shang Qinghua is to live as long and comfortably as possible in this world-- and to that end, he has resolved to stay as far away from the scum villain, Shen Qingqiu, as he possibly can, since nothing good could come from that association. Now, if only the two of them could stop being sent out on missions together!
Unfortunately, when someone makes a mistake, it's usually left to the two of them to clean it up-- and sometimes, Shang Qinghua can't help but be reminded of some of his own mistakes that can't be untangled so easily.
Two Birds
Pairing: Yue Qingyuan/Shen Jiu (pre-slash) Rating: T Length: 5k
Newly-ascended peak lords Yue Qingyuan and Shen Qingqiu are still adjusting to their new roles. When they attend a meeting for the upcoming Immortal Alliance Conference, Yue Qingyuan notices that his shidi is very tense, and he resolves to do what he can to ease his mind.
An Unlikely Mediator
Pairing: Yue Qingyuan/Shen Jiu Rating: T Length: 5k
Shen Qingqiu and Yue Qingyuan find a stray kitten while out on a mission and decide to bring it back to Cang Qiong Mountain. This makes all the difference.
OR
The unstoppable force of Qijiu's Communication Issues meets the immovable object of Cat-Induced Inertia.
----
Thank you to everyone who reads, comments, & gives kudos, and I look forward to another year of writing!

MXTX fic rec request
hey so MXTX fandoms are really big and i cannot find what i want. the problem is basically:
these books are all really gleefully fucked up
most of the fic i find is fluff, possibly bc ppl are getting the fucked up content they need from canon, or possibly bc i'm bad at finding things
do you have suggestions for non-fluff fic? I've read SVSSS, MDZS, and I'm reading TGCF as the official translation so I'm not all the way thru but I know all the big reveals. SVSSS is my favorite of the 3 but i'm desperate for MDZS and TGCF fic also. i haven't watched the Untamed bc i'm under the impression that it's less fucky than the book and also i'm allergic to long tv shows.
i like the canon pairings, but also original Shen Qinqiu/Yue Qingyuan, Zhuzhi Lang/SQQ, anything with Jin Guangyao (my beloved), and please i need messy Jun Wu/Xie Lian/Hua Cheng to live. i am also v easily persuaded on other characters and pairings. thank you!

Whumptober Day 22
It had been an enjoyable night out. At first
22 – Wu Xie, ‘glass shard’ kicked into bar in xin yue restaurant
It had been a nice meal, the three out to celebrate a large sale Pangzi had made earlier in the week, the man bragging that they were set for the month now. He had immediately insisted on a meal in the best restaurant they knew. So, the three dressed up and headed to the Xin Yue Restaurant, actually prepared to pay for their meals this time around.
And then it all went to hell.
Dessert had been ordered, Pangzi was getting drunk and Xiaoge’s arm was resting on the back of his chair, his hand occasionally stroking through his hair. Wu Xie couldn’t remember the last time he’d felt to content, so happy. And then the typical Iron Triangle luck kicked in.
The doors burst open with a roar of Pangzi’s name. Used to it at this stage, Xiaoge flips the table, pulling his friends behind it. Wu Xie peeks around the edge, counting the men. Five, shouldn’t be too hard. “Pangzi, what the hell! Who have you pissed off now?” The man shrugged. He didn’t keep track of these things. From the corner of his eye, Wu Xie saw Xiaoge reach for his sword that wasn’t there, frowning as he met air. “Old fashioned I guess. Wu Xie, stay close to Pangzi or I, don’t let one of them catch you alone.” Anyone who came after them knew Wu Xie was the weakness. A decent fighter, but you hurt him, you distracted the others. Nodding, Wu Xie steeled himself. He learned quickly to never underestimate their opponents, even ones as bumbling as these.
After that, it was all a bit of a blur, Wu Xie caught up in throwing and avoiding punches. He can see his friends from the corner of his eye, easily holding their owns. He also thinks he saw Rishan toss a plate at a man, but he could have been wrong. Admittedly, that distracted him, allowed someone to get the jump on him. It happened so fast, no one was really sure what happened. One second Wu Xie was in the middle of the fight, the next he was being thrown over the bar, hitting the shelves and then the ground silently. The fight finished quickly after that.
It hurt, that was the first thing he noticed, the searing pain in his back. The second was the blood puddle growing beneath him. Shit, what had happened to him. He tried to sit, to move, but the pain sent him back down. He passed out to the sounds of his friends still fighting.
Xiaoge leapt over the bar, Pangzi clambering after him. They froze on the other side, Xiaoge calling out for Rishan to call an ambulance. He dropped to his knees beside the younger man, checking the wound. “Glass in his back, it might have punctured a lung. We need to get him to a hospital. Now.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The shard had punctured a lung, meaning Wu Xie had to stay in a hospital bed for at least a week. By day two he was getting restless, bored in the bed already, whining to Pangzi that he was feeling better, he could go home. Xiaoge asked him to climb out of bed, knowing Wu Xie was still far too weak. Glaring at him, Wu Xie burrowed under the covers. If he was going to be in a hospital bed and in pain, he was going to milk this for everything it was worth. If anyone deserved it, he did.
(Main body of the article below here)
The Chinese Imperial Air Force (CIAF; Chinese: 中華帝國空軍; Wade–Giles: Chung-hua Ti-kuo K'ung-chün), also referred to as the Chinese Air Force (中華空軍) or the Imperial Air Force (帝國空軍), is the principal aerial service of the Great Ch'ing Empire, a part of the Chinese Imperial Military along with the Imperial Navy and the Imperial Army. The CIAF was officially established on 25 December 1929 and it is composed of five branches: aviation, ground-based air defense, radar, Airborne Corps and other support elements.
The development of the CIAF began with the creation of the Pei-yang Army Flying Corps in 1910, which flew French biplanes in reconaissance and bombing operations against rebels. With the splintering of the Pei-yang Army in 1916, elements of the Flying Corps entered the service of the various warlords vying for control of the government. During the First World War, ten bombers were shipped to Shang-hai for the Peking Government's use in dislodging the German Navy from Kiautschou Bay. The Flying Corps would participate in the Southern Expedition using primarily the Avro Avenger fighter aircraft and the Avro Aldershot heavy bomber provided by the United Kingdom, and in 1929, with the warlords brought together or defeated, the Air Staff was created as a separate branch of the military. The UK also assisted with the expansion of the Chinese aerospace industry during the Second Sino-Japanese War. Changes in the organization of the CIAF followed by modernization programs in the 1980s and increased technology development in the 21st century resulted in the J-20 stealth multirole fighter, the first of its kind for China.
The Air Force's mission is to secure the objectives of the Imperial Defence Council which are to "provide necessary security and defense of the Empire and to support the Government's international obligations". The highest-ranking military officer in the Air Force is the Chief of the Air Staff, who exercises supervision over Air Force units, while the IDC assigns Air Force components to unified combatant commands. Some units are also ceremonially affiliated with the Eight Banners, but since 1931 have been functionally integrated into the civilian command structure. The Helicopter Command contains most of the rotary-wing aircraft of the CIAF. Most of the air force is based in Mainland China, but some units do serve on foreign operations (principally over Manipur and Bukhara) or at long-established foreign bases (Havana, Ream, Djibouti, and Gorno-Badakhshan). Although the CIAF is the principal Chinese air power arm, the Imperial Navy's Fleet Air Corps and the Army Air Corps also operate armed aircraft.
Origins:
Today's Chinese Imperial Air Force (CIAF) traces its roots back to August 10, 1910 when the government authorized the creation of the Army Flying Corps in an effort to improve intelligence and gain the upper hand on insurrections. On the same day, construction began on Peking Nan-yüan Airport as part of a program to modernize national infrastructure. Initiated in the wake of the Boxer Protocol in 1901, the Keng-tzu New Policies were ordered by the Empress Dowager Tz'ŭ-hsi to reform government bureaucracy along with the military, and by the start of the Hsuan-t'ung reign a group of preparatory departments had been organized for experimentation with new technology and administrative systems. In 1903 an imperial edict expanded the Wu-wei Corps to 36 divisions, creating the Pei-yang Army, in 1905 the Imperial Examinations were abolished, and in 1907 a new law code and judicial system were rolled out. That same year, the tax code was reformed and the rail system was nationalized, which greatly helped the empire's finances but caused significant unrest as well.
With the death of Jung-lu in 1903, General of the Right Division Yüan Shih-k'ai became commander of the Pei-yang Army. His role in the 1898 coup d'état against the Kuang-hsü Emperor made him many enemies, and when the empress dowager and the emperor died within a day of each other in 1909, he was forced to resign by Prince Ch'ün and return to his home village ostensibly for health reasons. In spite of this, Yüan remained in communication with his associates in the army. In the wake of the February 1910 Keng-hsü Army Uprising, he authorized the Pei-yang Army to found a flight school at Nan-yüan to train a group of eight pilots to fly reconnaisance using Cauldron Type D biplanes purchased from France, improving the army's ability to respond. In early 1911, the Aviation Research Institute was founded.[6]
Warlord Era and Yüan Ch'en:
(Photo labeled "Nan-yüan Air Force Academy drillmasters in front of Avro aircraft") (Photo labeled "Voisin V in Shang-hai")
In 1911, a major popular uprising began in Canton while another army mutiny occurred at Wu-ch'ang. In a panic, Empress Dowager Lung-yü convinced Yüan to come out of retirement and lead the war effort in exchange for the position of Prime Minister and the final adoption of the Hsuan-t'ung Constitution. The rebellion was crushed by the end of 1912, and the T'ung-meng-hui (TMH) revolutionary society was forced to flee to Japan once again with numerous dead. With the south pacified, Yüan feared he would no longer be of use to the Ch'ing court. In spite of the bureaucrats' protests, he brought his army into the capital in order to protect himself and his allies from execution, essentially holding the court hostage. For five years, he and his majority Han chinese cabinet ruled the country.
Reasoning that China desired a new Han-ruled dynasty, Yüan revised the constitution to make himself a dictator before announcing plans to seize the throne as the Hung-hsien Emperor of Great Ch'en, allowing his army to plunder Manchu estates as northern Chinese cities descended into racial violence. The Ch'ing court fled to Gan-su, where support for Han rule was lower, under the protection of Ma An-liang and Shaan-hsi governor Ch'ien Neng-hsün. With the divided country now in civil war, many of Yüan's closest supporters abandoned him, and the solidarity of his Beiyang clique of military protégés dissolved. The Hung-hsien Emperor was opposed by not only the Ch'ing and the minorities, but far more importantly by his subordinate military commanders, who believed that his usurpation would allow him to rule without depending on the support of the military.
A coalition of governors and officers led by An-hui governor Liang Tun-yen launched the Imperial Protection War against him, officially in the name of the Hsuan-t'ung Emperor, while the Air Corps rebelled as well and dropped bombs on the Forbidden City. Yüan's health continued to decline, and his death in 1916 paved the way for the return of K'ang Yu-wei and other anti-Yüan reformist exiles. The Prince Ch'ing Cabinet retook control of the capital, denouncing Yüan and purging his allies, while government authority was greatly damaged. Provinces broke away and the TMH returned in 1917 to start a Han-nationalist insurgency in Hunan.
The fall of Yüan Shih-k'ai created a power vacuum and fractured the army. Fearing for their lives, many of the southern Pei-yang generals revolted and took control of the provinces as military governors. Minister of War Wang Shih-chen, nominally in charge of the Pei-yang Army, abolished it and reorganized the loyalist forces into the Chinese Imperial Military. Expanding the airbases at Nan-yüan and Ta hsiao-ch'ang, Marshal Wang was able to acquire more machines from Britain and France when the new army attacked the German Leased Territory of Kiautschou Bay in 1917 and China was drawn into the First World War.
As part of the allied Operation Asher, ten Voisin V pusher bombers were produced in France and shipped to Shang-hai. In spite of having defeated the 1914 allied attack, by this time the garrison was low on supplies and the Chinese aircraft proved devastating to German morale during the Second Siege of Tsing-tao. An avid aviation enthusiast, the Hsuan-tung Emperor himself also took great interest in the development of the Air Corps, and when he assumed direct rule in 1924 he personally invested large amounts of his constitutional subsidy into it.
First United Front:
During the late 1920s, the Ch'ing Imperial Government formed the first united front with the liberal T'ung-meng Hui (TMH) party against competing warlords in a bid to reunite a fractionalized China, combining the liberal Wu-han Government with the Imperial Assembly. In this period, various airplanes were purchased and deployed by warlords in their struggle for power until nominal Chinese reunification in 1929 following the Southern Expedition which saw the use of Avro Aldershot heavy bombers to inflict serious damage on the infrastructure of several provinces in support of the government offensives. That year, the CIAF was designated as an independent branch of the armed forces. The eighteen graduate pilots of the military flight school included nine republican and nine monarchist pilots who were sent to the Russian Federation for two years of advanced flight training under the tutelage of the more experienced Russian Air Force. Two of the imperial graduates, Kuo Tzu-han and Sung Chien-yü, continued to serve in the Russian Air Force for five years until, in September 1928, they returned to Ti-hua as instructors.
At the same time, Tsai-chen the fifth Prince Ch'ing established the Bureau of Aeronautics in 1920. Subsequently, the organization continued to develop, and successively established an aircraft factory, an aviation command, and a new aviation school in Hsi-an. In May 1927, the Aviation Department of the Ministry of War was changed to the Aviation Committee of the Defense Council of the Imperial Government. By 1929, the government's aviation force was officially independent from the Army General Command and became an independent service.
Second Sino-Japanese War:
(Photo labelled "Self-developed Chinese transport aircraft during the Battle of Ch'ang-sha")
Following the abolition of many of their social privileges in the Hsin-wei Reform Act, many Banner families experienced poverty and violence. In response to perceived neglect, they became disaffected with the Hsuan-t'ung Emperor. Some sided with the northeastern Pei-yang Army generals of the Fêng-tʻien Clique, while some sought support from Imperial Japan.
A minor dispute known as the Wan-pao-shan incident between Han and Korean farmers occurred on July 1, 1931. The issue was highly sensationalized in the Imperial Japanese and Korean press, and used for considerable propaganda effect to increase anti-Chinese sentiment in the Empire of Japan. Believing that a conflict in Manchuria would be in the best interests of Japan, Kwantung Army Colonel Seishirō Itagaki devised a plan to provoke Japan into invading Manchuria by setting up a false flag incident for the pretext of invasion. The Independent Garrison Unit of the 29th Infantry Regiment (which guarded the South Manchuria Railway) placed explosives near the tracks, but far enough away to do no real damage.
On the morning of September 19, two artillery pieces installed at the Mukden officers' club opened fire on the Chinese garrison nearby, in response to the alleged Chinese attack on the railway. Chang Hsueh-liang's small air force was destroyed, and his soldiers fled their destroyed Pei-ta-ying barracks, as five hundred Japanese troops attacked the Chinese garrison of around seven thousand. The Chinese troops were no match for the experienced Japanese troops. By the evening, the fighting was over, and the Japanese had occupied Mukden at the cost of five hundred Chinese lives and only two Japanese lives, thus starting the greater invasion of Manchuria. By 1932, most of the region was under Japanese control and the Empire of Manchukuo was created, while a young member of the Hitara clan was enthroned in Ch'ang-ch'un as the K'ang-te Emperor.
The CIAF immediately dispatched combat aircraft to the Hung-ch'iao Aerodrome during the January 28th Incident of 1932, and aerial skirmishes occurred for the first time between China and the Imperial Japanese. In February 1932, US Reserve Lt. Robert McCawley Short, who was transporting armed Chinese aircraft, shot down an IJN aircraft on February 19, 1932, and downed another on February 22 before he was killed (he was posthumously raised to the rank of colonel in the CIAF). During the early days of China's war of resistance against the Japanese invasion, the Imperial Air Force participated in several battles, including attacking Imperial Japanese Navy warships along the Yangtze River and supporting the Battle of Shang-hai. By this time, the Imperial Air Force's main fighter models were the Curtiss Hawk II and Hawk III fighters. On August 14, 1937, Japanese Imperial Navy bombers bombed Hang-chou Chien-ch'iao Airport, but was defeated by the CIAF; therefore, August 14 was designated as Air Force Day by the Imperial Government. In May 1938, the CIAF dispatched two B-10 bombers to Japan to drop leaflets.
By the middle of the war, intelligence units of the Imperial Japanese Navy cracked the radio codes of the Chinese army, putting the Air Force under attack. In the middle and late stages of the Second Sino-Japanese War, the addition of Chennault and other foreign pilots, as well as the support provided by the United States after joining the Allies, restructured the combat power of the CIAF and participated in the Hsin-chu Air Attack, and air raids on Japan. After the end of World War II, in June 1946, the Aviation Committee of the Military Committee of the Imperial Government was changed to the General Command of the Air Force.
Chinese Civil War:
In January 1941, as intensifying clashes between imperial and TMH forces ended the second united front against invading Japanese forces, the government's Imperial Defense Council (IDC) established the Air Force Engineering School with Kuo as commandant and Sung as head instructor. In May 1944, just over a year before the Japanese surrender to Allied forces, the IDC established an Aviation Section in Hsi-an with Kuo as its director and Sung as deputy director. Two years later in May 1946 and after the withdrawal of Japanese troops, the IDC established the Northeast Old Aviation School in Kirin. By 1949 the Aviation Section of the IDC had 560 trained personnel (125 pilots and 435 ground support specialists), purchased 435 aircraft from the Russian Federation, acquired 115 republican aircraft, and operated seven military flight schools.
During the Second Civil War between the T'ung-meng Hui and the Imperial Government from 1946 to 1949, the Air Corps of the Republic of China participated in combat support and air strikes against the CIAF on the mainland and around the Tai-wan Strait. In October of the same year, the ACROC assisted in stopping the advance of the Chinese Imperial Army at the Battle of Ku-ning-t'ou in Quemoy, and in April 1949, the Air Corps retreated to the former Japanese colony of Tai-wan along with other government departments of the ROC. In October 1952, Marshal Chou Ên-lai and the battle-hardened army of the Chinese Communist Party broke with the T'ung-meng Hui and launched a successful revolution with the help of Indigenous Taiwanese, abolishing the National Assembly of the TMH and founding the People's Republic of China; the world's second socialist state after India. The ACROC sided with the revolution and became the PRCAAF. As relations soured between the left liberal governments of NATO and the right authoritarian governments of the Eurasian Pact, the United States intervened on behalf of the PRC and preserved the island's self-government. There have been at least 11 air battles in the area since 1952.
The real opportunity to obtain a large number of aircraft came from the Northeast Alliance Aviation School established in 1946 after the end of the Anti-Japanese War. At this time, the Imperial Government seized Japanese-made aircraft, trained pilots, and received a large number of American-made aircraft from the surrendered ROC Air Force in southeast China and Nanking during the civil war. On March 17, 1949, personnel were transferred from the Northeast Aviation School to establish the "Imperial Defence Council Aviation Bureau" in Peking. The director Ch'ang Ch'ien-k'un (the executive vice president of the Northeast Aviation School), under the Combat Education Department, Aeronautical Engineering Department, Civil Aviation Department, Information Section and Supply Section, staffed 64 people. In May 1949, the Navigation Management Office, the Secretariat, and the Imperial Office were added, and the number was expanded to 172 people. The major military regions have since successively established aviation divisions.
Notes:
While they are strange bedfellows, the strategic importance of Tai-wan Island was sufficient for the US to accept the existence of the PRC; the start of a similar reconciliation as began in the 1970s during Detente.
In this timeline, the White Movement won the Russian Civil War. Specifically, the Provisional All-Russian Government or "Ufa Directory" of Alexander Kolchak defeated the Bolsheviks in 1919, retaking Moscow and Petrograd partially with the help of a Qing expeditionary force which aided the Basmachi rebels in Central Asia and helped hold sections of the Trans-Siberian Railway alongside the Czechoslovak Legion. Kolchak was assassinated by a monarchist in 1920, which began a second phase of the civil war. The conflict ended in 1922 when the Ufa Directory combined with the Samara Government to form a federal republic of Russia dominated mostly by Kadets and Right SRs.
Primary Stage Socialism is still very young in this world and revolutionary parties have only been successful in the Global South. During the alternate Cold War, the western bloc was primarily fighting the Eurasian Pact of the Greater White Movement and gave military assistance to any allies it could find from the PRC to India to Iraq. Only after the main phase of the Cold War ended did the US and NATO begin to turn against these countries.
Adding some elements from @yellowsalt3's year-end tag game to this post:
Fic Writing Review 2023
Reflection
I guess I wrote a lot?
I think, on reflection, what stands out to me are that I pretty much write three kinds of fics: Good fics, bad fics, and weird fics. Probably the easiest to point out are the bad fics. I don't mean bad in that they're awful, but they're clearly just meh. Forgettable in a hey, that exists sort of way. And overwhelmingly these fics are "supposed-to" fics. They're fics I wrote for prompt challenges, holidays, event weeks I wasn't super into, etc. because I felt like I was supposed to or promised somebody that I would. Often they feel like only half an idea and are lacking any real point. "Fire on Ice" comes to mind. It's cute. Ice skating AU. But it's just kind of there?
What surprised me is that some of my very favorites are the weird fics. These are almost exclusively extreme rarepair fics written for events. I love extreme rarepair events because they push me to do some very strange things with new characters. "Memory Like Fine Sand" is one of the best things I wrote this year not in spite of but because it's fucking whack, and I love that. I'd like to write more weird fics.
Then there are the good fics. These aren't necessarily popular. "Beyond the Painted Hills" comes to mind, for example, with its five little kudos. But to me, these are fics that aren't just putting characters in scenarios, but where I'm trying to convey something. Love. Loss. Desperation. Humor. Hope. Fics like "Disgrace" are probably popular because they have Zuko in them, but also it's 1,400 words of raw teenage angst that pales in comparison to any emotion in "Fire and Ice." “It’s my hair,” said Iroh, “and you can’t make me.” GOD. As if we didn't all have that stage.
I'd like to write more good fics, too.
FINISH MY WIPS DAMMIT.
I mean, really.
I have so many fics that I love that just need one little push. After the Uncommon Rains. Smoke. I Don't Like Your Attitude. Girls' Night. Not if You Were the Last Man on Earth. I'm so close on all of these and I just need to get 'er done.
Then there are the other projects. The never-ending Firestorm rewrite. The Jet/Agni sequel. Yasuko Lives AU. Asami's high school years. Big things like my version of the Equalist trials and my 30-years post-canon AU that I'm too scared to start because I know they're 90k-word monsters waiting to be born. But I can't hold them back forever.
At the same time, I feel like fandom is a ticking clock. With each release of new Avatar content my own interpretations of characters and scenarios and relationships become more and more obscure. How long before there's a Korra movie that makes Korra sami a ship from the start instead of an afterthought? How long before there is a General Iroh spinoff that makes my writing so OOC it's laughable? Ships that ten years ago were fairly popular have already become "ew omg how could anyone ever think that?" Friends that were sharing their passions move on. Rarepair authors and artists with three kudos on something they poured their heart into are starting to say "what's the point?" And it's tiring.
But I'm gonna finish my WIPs dammit.
Wu and Yue Premodern Sources Available in English
Inspired by the recent discovery that someone just released a translation of Wu Yue Chun Qiu this year! There’s way more material available than I expected, and I thought it would be useful to collect them in one place for other people. Please let me know if I’ve made any mistakes/omissions!
(I haven’t included the sources that have, like crumbs of content, like the offhand mentions in a bunch of Warring States texts. These are all works that you can get a sense of the overall story from.)
For newcomers to the canon, my reading suggestions as an enthusiastic amateur are:
If you prefer history to fiction and/or want something short, read Wu Zixu’s bio in the Shiji
If you want to dive in, read Wu Yue Chun Qiu
In rough chronological order:
Zuozhuan (左传, Zuo Commentaries, Zuo Tradition)
A year-by-year account of the goings-on throughout the Chinese states as perceived by the state of Lu, with extensive commentary by a later author, covering most of the Spring and Autumn Period (771-476BC). The last three portions, covering Duke Zhao to Duke Ai of Lu’s reigns, include the earliest account of the events of Wu and Yue, which are quite interestingly different from later accounts. A lot of famous details don’t appear here. Wu Zixu’s vengeance and death are still pretty gnarly but less gnarly than they are in later adaptations.
Not recommended as your first account, because the bits on Wu and Yue are mixed in with the bits on all the many, many other states, and this version of events is heavily overshadowed in the popular consciousness by later versions. If someone’s making a Wu-Yue adaptation, not a lot of it is going to come from this version.
Translations:
An 1872 translation by James Legge, available free online with Pinyin transliterations here.
A 2016 more readable translation by Stephen Durrant, Wai-yee Li and David Schaberg
Shiji (史记, Records of the Grand Historian)
The work of ancient Chinese history writing. The relevant parts if you’re interested in Wu and Yue would be:
The biography of Wu Zixu (chapter 66). If you only want to read one thing and you want to keep it short, read this. It’s something like the definitive “base” account of his story, which spans the events of the era.
The biographies of Sun Wu (better known as Sun Tzu) and Fan Li, which make up portions of chapters 65 (Biographies of Sun Wu and Wu Qi) and 129 (Biographies of the Usurers/Moneymakers)
The Genealogy chapter for the royal house of Wu (chapter 31), which contains an annal-like accounts of events.
There’s also a Genealogy chapter for the Yue royals (chapter 41), but it doesn’t have an English translation
Translations:
There’s over a dozen piecemeal translations, but as of the present, there is not actually a single complete English translation of the Shiji. William Nienhauser is about 2/3 of the way through his, which will be the first if it’s completed. Fairly sure all the other translations are old enough that they use Wade-Giles rather than Pinyin, unfortunately. Referencing this list somebody compiled:
Volume V.1 of Nienhauser’s translation has the Wu royal house genealogy
Volume VII of Nienhauser’s translation has the Wu Zixu and Sun Wu biographies
Burton Watson has translated Wu Zixu and Fan Li’s biographies in Records of the Historian. Chapters from the Shih chi of Ssu-ma Ch’ien (1958)
I couldn’t find that specific edition on Internet Archives, but I did find a 1969 edition on there that seems to have both bios
I also came across this 1979 translation by Yang & Yang that seems to have all three biographies
Wu Yue Chun Qiu (吴越春秋, Spring and Autumn Annals of Wu and Yue)
We’re now about 500 years after the actual events, and the basic story has picked up more and more flourishes, though this is still regarded as history, if less reliable history than the above. This is the first appearance of Xi Shi, for one, and also the one mention of Princess Tengyu. Whatever actually happened, many of the details in this narrative are now indispensable parts of the story of Wu and Yue in the popular imagination. This is the primary canon that most later adaptations draw from.
Translation:
A 2021 translation by Jianjun He
Yue Jue Shu (越绝书, The Glory of Yue)
Roughly contemporaneous with Wu Yue Chun Qiu, an eclectic compilation of texts on Wu and Yue, some of which may date considerably earlier.
Translation
A 2010 translation by Olivia Milburn
Wu Zixu Bianwen (伍子胥变文, Wu Tsu-Hsu)
From a damaged document discovered in the Dunhuang caves, written about a thousand years after the actual events. This is just straight-up historical fiction now.
There is a lot of Wu Zixu historical fiction, in fact. All sorts of plays and operas and a good-sized chunk of the historical novel Dong Zhou Lie Guo Zhi. But as far as I know none of those are translated, and this is both translated and early!
Translations
The translations are old and you’ll just have to roll with Wade-Giles.
In which Shen Jiu rescues the wrong Qi-ge from Wu Yanzi
Shen Jiu rescues Qi-ge from Wu Yanzi by killing the demonic cultivator, right? Except Shen Jiu learns that the Qi-ge that he saved isn't actually Qi-ge, rather this is Qi-ge's son.
That's right. At some point or another, Wu Yanzi stuck Shen Jiu in some pocket dimension and when Shen Jiu popped back out, it's been 50 years or so. Qi-ge failed to get into a cultivation sect and was unable to find Shen Jiu anywhere, so he finally settled down as an old man, got married and had a kid. He was able to amassed enough wealth to live well and his youngest son got accepted into Cang Qiong, but he was never truly happy because he thought Shen Jiu was dead.
Then here comes Shen Jiu still looking like a teenager, having saved his son.
Qi-ge is now an old man nearing his 70s, surrounded by adult children and grandchildren who crawl on the floor. He's finally content at seeing Shen Jiu alive and free. As for Shen Jiu, a lot of Shen Jiu's demons no longer exist because their separation and continued separation was truly out of both of their controls.
Anyways, Shen Jiu joins Cang Qiong Sect, becomes Qing Jing peak lord and all. But the real reason why Yue Qingyuan dotes on Shen Jiu so is because of filial piety - he's showing respect for his elders which is, in this case, his uncle.
going around tgcf ships at the moment and i'm curious why a lot of people ship qi rong/lang qianqiu? the fan contents are lovely but i want to hear from you on why if you don't mind haha
Great question. I have no idea lol.
Well, I can come up with two guesses: firstly, that a lot of the MXTX characters have... subtextual pairings. Like even if MXTX insists she didn't intend to write other canon pairings, there's enough subtext around certain pairings to be like "r u sure":
Jun Wu and Mei Nianqing (the parallels at the end with Hualian)
Shi Qingxuan and He Xuan (no explanation needed)
Quan Yizhen and Yin Yu (they're just... too similar to Bingqiu)
Feng Xin and Mu Qing (even goes out of the way to include that Jian Lan does not love Feng Xin anymore)
Ban Yue and Pei Su (I think this is implicitly canon)
Yushi Huang and Pei Ming (I also think this is implicitly canon at least in a one-sided way; Xuan Ji's curse is pretty telling)
You could even potentially argue about Ling Wen and Bai Jing but there's not enough there for me.
Sooo considering who else is alive, people are going to probably want to ship Lang Qianqiu with someone. He doesn't interact with Shi Wudu and he's dead (I mean so is Qi Rong but more questionably lol), and he doesn't interact with Ling Wen and straight side ships are always less popular in danmei. He does have not only terrible beef with Qi Rong, but takes in Guzi (Qi Rong's adopted son) at the end. They could be the real enemies to lovers, but with a kid too.
At least, that's my guess. I'm not really into it but not opposed either lol. True neutral.
#ask hamliet#tgcf#hualian#quanyin#fengqing#bansu#peihuang#qi rong x lang qianqiu#if any shippers wanna chime in please do!#would love to hear it from you#also not saying ppl have to ship the ones i listed#not at all#it's subtext#plausible deniability is built in#the only thing that is definitively canon is that there is emotional energy there#beefleaf
2017 BJYX Timeline : At First Sight.
Everything starts with a blank canvass. Oh we painted each others lives inch by inch. from black, gray and blue to colors we never thought existed. Two photos from different places, longing to be one.
Let’s start from the beginning of this whirlwind timeline. There will be very minimal interaction between our boys, but this will also be a good time to see how they were before working together. I wanted to paint a picture of XNINE’s Xiao Zhan and Idol Wang Yibo. Before their names got tied to the Untamed and each other.
They were doing their own thing, working hard with their careers, no clue that one chance meeting will be so important. Warning, this post is video links, image and information heavy. I am missing some stuff because this hell site refuses to save things and continues to glitch.
🡆 MARCH 2017
03242017 : The story starts when XNINE was a guest in Day Day Up. When asked, they always say that this is the first time they met. However, they did not interact at all.
youtube
But there are definitely times on this episode where they pay attention to each other and it’s so cute. You can find different videos that will highlight these moments better than any screencaps can.
1. Web Stealing a glance at GG
2. First meeting
3. Gun heart - This is the gesture GG used when he introduced himself. The hosts all imitated him and teased, that included Web who smiled too. The same love gesture will be seen in the following years as “their thing”.
4. Doing the same steps for the dance.
5. Web allowing GG to pass and did not lift up the bamboo to trap him when it’s his turn.
6. Red string of Fate
7. Love at first sight-ology
When asked about this shooting, especially the segment when they were in the fields— GG said it was too cold. There is also CPN that the bag Web was using was GG’s.
03252017: Yin Yue V-Chart Interview with XNINE. GG talking about being scolded for not updating his video diaries and updating his fans. 😂 On the same day that this interview came out, he posted a selfie.
12222017 : Winter solstice post from both of them. Talking about eating tangyuan. It’s of those mirroring posts, but again, could just be coincidence that they posted something similar.
12312017 : Web Participates in Hunan TV’s new year countdown as a Host.
*** Note 01 : In 2017, XNINE was transferred from EE media to Long Danni’s Wajijiwa Ent. Company. Some initial problems that they had was that their company was more interested in promoting them as actors and not as an idol group. They were also not kept safe in public venues which will be a recurring issue to GG as we go along other timelines.
*** Note 02 : I wanted to add Web’s Rossi posts and more pictures but it won’t save (will try again at a later date, but I think Web’s awards and projects are more important to highlight here). LOL. Thankfully, GG’s selfies worked. I mainly added stuff that they did in 2017 to give a sense of where they were career-wise.
*** Note 03 : Looking at how this timeline turned into a monster, I will probably split the 2018 timeline into two parts. Forever Summer Part I & Forever Summer Part 2. Seeing the amount of Activity these two did in 2018 alone is STAGGERING. Plus, this site is glitching with all the content when I save it so splitting it might be better. if you have suggestions, let me know.
ATLA Fic Recs part 2!
part 1 (consider this link a re-rec of everything I recced in part 1, bc those fics are still amazing and at this point many of them that weren’t complete are finished now which is cool!)
So I’m structuring this fic recs list a little differently than I did the first one. First one was just “fics I like” with no regard to how popular the fics were and a little bit of thought as to balancing gen fics with ship fics and trying to have a diversity of ships listed. This time, I am paying attention to how popular the fics are, and while I’m probably still going to rec popular fics/fic authors, I’m hoping to also expose people to some new authors with this list (as well as exposing people to work from their favorite authors that they may not have read)! Expanding your horizons is a really good thing, it’s how I’ve found basically every fic I love, and I hope y’all will love each of the fics I’m reccing as much as I do! In no particular order:
1. her beauty in the moonlight overthrew you by @aangsblush I said that I was going to rec this a couple days ago and here I am doing it because HOW ON EARTH IS THIS FIC AS BRILLIANT AS IT IS AND NOT LIGHTING THE FANDOM ON FIRE RIGHT NOW. I’ve genuinely never read a fic like this before. Never in my life. It’s a collection of vignettes, mostly dealing with Hakoda and Sokka’s various experiences of grief with Kya and Yue (and there’s a little bit of cute bakoda and sukka sprinkled in there as well). Like I said, the chapters were vignettes, some of them as short as two or three sentences, and yet somehow I was crying after every single chapter???? The author uses language so sparingly and so impactfully and I truly cannot get over how brilliant this is like bruh. who gave you the right. Who. Who. Tbh I could make a whole post about this fic (and I have!) but instead, I’m going to direct you to the fic, bc really, it speaks for itself.
2. laughter lines by @bi-suki To be completely real, I tend not to read sad fics, or seek out sad media in general, but I read this fic and I’m so glad I did. It’s a modern au about Sokka and his family moving to Anchorage, separating him from his childhood best friend, Yue. Make sure you read the tags before you read this fic, please. It’s really sad. I started tearing up while writing out just that quick summary. Keep a box of tissues handy. I’ve read a lot of this author’s fics and they all have a habit of sticking in my head long after I’ve read them, but this one really packs a punch. Sokka’s grief and his friendship with Yue is written in such an intimate and beautiful way, and yes, I literally am crying right now thinking about it. I do think it’s hard to pull off writing yukka, especially in a modern au, while giving appropriate depth to both Sokka and Yue, but this fic really managed it so well. Even though this fic made me sad, I don’t regret reading it one bit.
3. call it fate by @bluberry-spicehead y’all are really converting me into a maiko shipper and honestly I’m so here for it. Mai’s one of my favorite characters in ATLA, and the care that the fic takes in portraying her perspective as well as her relationships with Zuko, Azula, and Ty Lee (despite the fact that Zuko isn’t even there when the fic takes place)--I mean, it’s honestly just incredible work. I’ve seen a lot of joke-y posts about “oh what if x happened with Aunt Wu instead of what happened in canon?” but never with Maiko and never quite the way this fic describes it. It’s really original and really carefully done, with all the complexity and nuance of their relationship infused into the details of the fic. And the way that Mai is written is both in character for her and expands on existing canon in a way that I really believe works for her. The writing is so immediate and really roots you in the world and in Mai’s head and I love it I love it I love it!
4. i am your savior, your last serving daughter by @gays4korra *sokka voice* SUKI! Bruh. BRUH. The amount that I love both Suki and Kyoshi cannot be overstated, they’re both such fascinating and complex characters, and yet some people (*cough* the fandom *cough*) don’t want to see them in their full and complete brilliance. Enter this fic, which shows Suki and Kyoshi meeting, like someone saw my wildest dreams and was like “hey that’s a cool fic idea!” The TEARS I cried reading this fic (yes, I am aware that this is the fourth time I’ve mentioned crying over a fic in just this one post, these fic authors are incredibly talented and I have three planets in Cancer, fight me) Suki and Kyoshi, icons themselves, conversing across time???? iconic. simply iconic. And then the fact that Sokka orchestrated the whole thing because he wanted to make Suki happy? I love them, your honor. And Kyoshi being happy that Suki looks up to her because really Kyoshi’s a fluffy dork with self-esteem issues.... I’m crying again it’s so beautiful I’ve looked at it for five hours now. Gosh. read this fic.
5. Balance My Heart in The Palm of Your Hands by @spookysukki ok while looking for this person’s tumblr I found out that this was their first work in the fandom and can I just say pal you POPPED OFF with this one fic and I hope that you write more because this was. This was awesome. Mailee is def in my top 5 (possibly top 2) ATLA ships but unfortunately I have a hard time finding content for it. Fortunately, every time I do find content for it it’s incredibly cute and this was absolutely no exception. It’s also the rare Mai & Sokka friendship fic which is not something I knew I needed in my life but is a concept that I am completely obsessed with having read this. Basically, Mai’s jealous of Sokka because Ty Lee keeps talking about Sokka being attractive, and shenanigans ensue. And you know me, I love shenanigans. This is also a Mai perspective fic which is awesome because as I said earlier, I love love LOVE Mai, and she’s so sweet and broody in this lsfjskdfjk I love her so much what an icon.
5. earth system history by @pianjeong I have read this fic. So many times. I could honestly probably recite it from memory (jfdksjflsd ok that’s not true but at this rate I probably will be able to soon). It is an absolutely stunning fic. It’s like all my favorite parts of college condensed into one story (running around buildings you probably shouldn’t be in in the middle of the night with the person you have a crush on, coming out to your professor who is also gay, all iconic college moods). I’m simply obsessed with the way each character is written, and it’s so clear that the author knows what she’s talking about when it comes to geology, and that in general this fic was written with a lot of love for the characters of ATLA and also for rocks. It’s that love that keeps me coming back to this one. Cannot recommend it enough.
6. the end is barely beginning by @katarahairloopies gosh I don’t even know where to start with this one other than I cannot believe that it almost wasn’t posted and I’m so glad that it was because you truly can never have enough father/son moments between Hakoda and Sokka and I care them. I care them so much. Also can I just say Hakoda not remembering all of Sokka and Katara’s friends’ names and having to really think about it is such a dad mood. I can’t remember a single time in my life where my dad could remember all of my friends’ names (and there were points in my life where he would have only had to remember one name and yet. and yet.) I really love ATLA fics that are character studies because they tend to really retain the complexity of the characters as they’re depicted in the show (or make them more complex) and this one is no exception. There were so many lines of this that were just really poignant and beautiful. Again, cannot recommend it enough.
#atla fic recs#gosh so many of these are hakoda focused bless#hakoda#sokka#yue#suki#yukka#sukka#mai#maiko#kyoshi#zukka#mailee#ty lee#caps tw
