ART PIECE REDRAW (2024 vs. 2021, ft. spooky extra addition)

I literally have sooo much to say about this,, but generally I'm really surprised(?) at how what I drew in 2021 is literally something I would never draw now-- like, not in the way that I'm OmoriPhobic, but in the use of colors, framing, lineart thickness, etc.

I wanted to go on a drawing spree yesterday, but I could only muster these two before dozing off.

First one, even if I'm not that sure about how I drew her face shape in this angle (and most importantly I forgot her neck and torso bandages OOPS) I do really like how most of the drawing came out. And at least it isn't a bland bust this time, though I'm pretty sure I've already drawn a pose like this before. (Oh no the next drawing is a 3/4 bust again..)

Second, yesterday I saw an artist draw some of the coolest redesigns ever for a different media piece, and thought about the many awesome gg redesigns I often see so I wanted to give A.B.A a spin... Except I was out of ideas so most of this drawing is her regular design haha. I got too tired to even try to attempt to draw the rest of the body and half-assed the key but I like the vibes and pose (even if I.. think I made her neck a bit too long? Old habits die hard... Necks are my enemies when drawing!)

I like the idea of her having a key take on the classic frankenstein bolts (though wait, her head key is referred to as a screw. Would this also be a screw or key shaped bolts??-)

OK. SO.

i basically just watched kpop demon hunters, and OH BOYY i have a lot to say (first timer doing a writing essay, kinda nervous!! ^_^) (oh and spoiler alert lmao)

First off, THE AMAZING DELICIOUS ARTSTYLE. oh my god, this movie is such an eye candy, like the main girls look absolutely beautiful (especially zoey, zoey is a great character and my precious angel, she never did anything wrong btw!!) and their outfits?!?! The makeup??? The hairstyles??? Were they designed especially to attract me??? wtf dude... Oh, and the saja boys were fine ig ;/// (baby saja best boy i need 200 fanarts RN.) The animation style is also great, reminds me of spiderverse and arcane SM. And the songs. OHH, THE SONGS. i'm not interested in kpop one bit (idk if alien stage counts lolol) but i listened to this soundtrack two times after watching the movie, which doesnt happen that often with animated musicals, so plus 10 points for them. From artistic perspective, this movie is absolutely 10/10.

Okay!! Now the characters. Rumi is a genius MC tbh. Her character arc is so beautiful and engaging, and her perfectionist personality made me chuckle a bit throught the movie. Her bandmates, although... Dont get me wrong, i loved them and their quirks (like i said, ZOEY BEST GIRL.) but...i feel like their character arcs could be more fleshed throught the movie, like Zoey felt that she was too much and never enough, and a bit of a people pleaser, right?? It was handled alright, but i think a few scenes where shes anxious and overthinks her behavior like while after the concert scenes wouldnt hurt ig;-; About Mira... I didnt understood her character a bit, like i guess she had issues with her parents and felt like she failed them and doesnt deserve someone who loves her?? I hope i read that right... And it wasnt show throught the movie that shes closed off and avoids displaying affection, and only when she said that she doesnt deserve a family when gwi ma was manipulating her it was noticeable?? Thats my only remark about the girls, i feel like the chemistry was so genuine and heartfelt i couldnt help but love them :DD. Now the main antagonists... Ofc, Jinu was like also a character with a lot of depth put into him. His interactions with Rumi were sometimes hilarious, but also pretty tearjerking. Just seeing them find someone with similar trauma and who thinks that they deserve to be shamed and bonding was do beautiful ;-; Also, i LOVED the scene when gwi ma manipulates him by making him hear his family members' screams and saying hell make it go away if he listens to him. Made me understand why the demons want a human soul and stop hearing his voice inside his head. Overall, the concept that demons are just regular people that made a mistake and are being eternally punished for that, is SO COOL. What a shame that it wasnt used more :[[ oh, and the rest of the saja boys were pretty... dissapointing?? Like some of them almost never spoke a word, and they were nothing but just pretty and good at singing the whole movie... No motivations, arc, NOT A THING!!! they were just next bad guys that our girlsband had to defeat and it was kinda underwhelming... Theyre one of the reasons i hope this movie sheds light on their backstories more :\ the secondary character were pretty dope tbh. Like Bobby, i loved, absolutely loved that he was supportive and caring towards the girls instead of another money hungry abusive twist villain ^^ huntrix' mentor was genius too, she was honestly a so paranoid and fixated on the girls being perfect and not flawed that it hurt more than helped them/_\ her unability to accept flaws was huge influence for rumi and reason for her breaking point and i adored that bit :]

The plot was so silly, like when i saw the trailer i wasnt expecting a movie about accepting who you are and the real darkness can be defeated when you come to terms with that you do not need to be perfect and appealing to everyone lololl ^=^the motive of korean myths clashing with present popculture was a nice add and the message was cool and all but the plot structure.... jesus it was a mess. For example, Rumi being part demon was a cool plot point and i hoped for it to be expanded in the climax of the movie and answer some questions, like how she cant hear gwi ma's voice but it was just put aside for some reason??? Also the ending was SUCH A MISS. i hoped for them to realize that demons were actually misunderstood and there was a deeper reasons for them to steal souls, and, for example, free their souls and make them reunite with their loved ones to say sorry and be content with themselves or sth like that?? Instead they just killed the big bad guy and all the demons are still eternally suffering??? Its really dissapointing, considering all this buildup...

Anyways, that's all i have to say abt the movie !!! It has more plot holes than swiss cheese and character arcs are all over the place, but it was a fun experience overall!! Solid 8/10, SONY PLEASE GIVE US A SEQUELL/TV SERIESSSS.

I’m gonna have to disagree with you that Kaos is any better than LO. It’s all the same bull crap.

Kaos just seems like live-action LO, both having a boring storyline with bad or fetishized characterizations of the Greek Gods and figures, and both looking artistically beautiful and some cool concepts, but badly executed. The only difference is that Kaos has more LGBTQIA+ themes than LO, has a tiny bit more Greek references, and gets much darker. That’s pretty much it.

As a Greek who studies our myths and stories extensively, I’m tired of the west trying to take and rearrange our stories and retell them ‘with a modern, western lense’. It’s exhausting and infuriating.

It’s time the west gets over its fascination with us and move on.

Fair opinion! Honestly, the initial post I made about it was after only watching the first couple episodes. Now that I've finished it, I can definitely see actual glaring issues with it, both in their characterizations as well as in how they kind of lose the intrigue after a few episodes of the setting and elements of them being gods. Which are all issues that LO have as well.

Though I will say, LO has those issues far more than Kaos does, but what really separates LO from Kaos, in my opinion - the creators of Kaos aren't pretending that Kaos is more than it is. To me, Kaos isn't in any way a singular Greek myth retelling, more so a fun "Greek epic" style story featuring the gods in a modern setting, the way LO could have been if Rachel hadn't tried to make it into something bigger than it was (and if she didn't put herself on a pedestal as a "self proclaimed folklorist"). I can watch Kaos and appreciate it as a fun Greek myth inspired piece of media because that's pretty much all it's trying to be. Meanwhile LO gives us middle-school-level writing with very little real Greek myth influence (aside from what it benefits Rachel to do so) that even goes so far as to outright disrespect the myths that they were based on... all the while people praise it as the greatest Greek myth retelling ever.

I think Kaos is miles better than LO because it at least tells a more coherent story than LO ever could have, with a lot more attention paid to the stylization of a Greek epic (compared to LO which tried and failed to implement those same things, such as the Fates, self-fulfilling prophecies, and witty narration as to retell a story that's already happened).

Granted, that story still takes a lot of liberties with the source material (some that I enjoyed, others not so much), but in that regard, I refer to the above - Kaos isn't trying to be an actual retelling like LO did, so I view it the same way I do as something like Hercules or Hades, where the people who made it clearly love Greek myth and wanted to do some Greek myth-inspired story with their own twists on the narratives, and it paid off in a story that, in spite of their flaws, still feels intentional and thought out.

LO, by comparison, is just a mess of ripped off half-baked ideas thrown at a wall and filled in with self-fulfilling power fantasy garbage written by someone who claims to have deeper knowledge of the myths but clearly doesn't. It's hard to enjoy LO in spite of its flaws because it's all flaws and they're so deeply-rooted in the context of Rachel's own biases and sexual preferences that you really can't separate it from that once you know if it.

I do have some criticisms of Kaos and some of its more creative choices - Hera cheating on Zeus with Poseidon (literally wtf lmao), Persephone still being the "I went down there willingly!" archetype (though at least she's not 19 in this, the casting for her and Hades was great), as well as the fact that things weren't wrapped up by the end of the first season which really bums me out because now it's up to the mercy of Netflix to give it that second season - but ultimately, from a story-writing perspective, Kaos absolutely did accomplish having an actual narrative with themes and goal-driven writing that LO failed in having. That comparison doesn't make Kaos a 100% perfect show without flaw, but I made the comparison initially anyways because much of what I enjoyed in Kaos was what I expected from LO (and ultimately didn't get).

That's just my own two cents though! And I need to make it clear - I am not a Greek person! I have no say or merit within the discussion regarding Greek myth and how it's been appropriated!! - so ultimately... my opinion of these things really aren't as valuable as someone who actually is Greek or studied heavily in it.

So that said, I can completely see the merit in your own arguments that a lot of these "modern retellings" tend to miss the point of the stories they're trying to retell (esp with the criticisms I outlined above) and are often chewed up through a Western lens. The lesser of two evils is still evil. But if we're purely talking Kaos vs. Lore Olympus here as modern entertainment that are both attempting similar things... I'd be way more likely to rewatch and recommend one over the other. Plus there are a lot of adaptions out there made by Westerners / non-Greeks that are incredible and are, at the very least, amazing stepping stones into the world of Greek myth for those who want to learn more about it. Out of the pool of ongoing modern Greek myth retellings/inspired works - Blood of Zeus, Hades/Hades 2, Kaos, Epic: The Musical, Hadestown, Hercules, Percy Jackson & The Olympians, and Lore Olympus - it's not hard to guess which one I'd be the least likely to recommend as gateways into Greek mythology. If those titles were organized in a list of best to worst, Kaos isn't at the top of that list, but it's sure as shit higher than LO 💀😆

-christoff, very earnestly, likes the idea of hank wearing a suit. which is funny because it's not even that jeb is really particular about dressing fancy (we've all seen that 'i'm jebus lol' shirt the only reason why he was wearing a lab coat was cause he worked there) it's just that he thinks hank would look good in one...and hes right!

-i don't think either of them do nicknames, however i do like the idea of jeb calling him 'darling' or 'angel' in a very sarcastic way. hank's intrigued by it because he never hears christoff call him anything that isn't his own name so he's like "hm. continue."

-so sometimes people have a different tone for reading outloud. hank has a 'reading voice', it's incredibly monotone and dry and for some reason, christoff REALLY likes it. it's like a weird asmr thing for him he's looking for excuses to have hank read out more things.

-i really, really enjoy the thought of jeb trailing after hank ontop of the buildings of nexus city or just generally following close behind, thinking hank is up to nefarious shit, then sees hank in an alleyway feeding the local cat colony. moments where he's like oh, he's not like. completely irredeemable. but my research was ptsd-fueled wtf.

-speaking of which i do actually have a doodle i made of hank wearing christoffs 'i'm jebus lol' shirt i can just show it. but i think he wears it...and stretches it out cause he's wider then christoff lmao

i'm pretty sure i've also drawn christoff wearing hanks smiley shirt but its very old. i need to redraw it again sometime.

-hank tried to teach christoff the fine art of ventcrawling at least once. it didn't go too well. turns out christoff really, really hates enclosed spaces. he's very fond of his own ability to float and glide around, so being in a confined space makes him feel like a bird stuck in a cage.

-i think hank would be kind of weirded out by christoff being able to carry him around while floating, but he warms up to it. what he's really embarrassed about is christoff trying to carry him bridal style while he floats around.

-as i stated in a previous headcanon post, hank doesn't find very traditional things cute, or someone trying to be purposefully cute. it's not that you need to even be naturally cute, he just doesn't see the appeal. i'm not even sure he finds cats cute, he just really, really likes them... however, for some reason one time he sees christoff doing something, like maybe even doing something that makes him really frustrated like trying to dig through files and getting all huffy and mad and suddenly hank is hit with the ! realization... "oh, cute." and christoff is annoyed, still frustrated, but now subtly blushing and yelling at hank "what are you doing over there, rambling about nonsense? your assistance is required, make haste." and then thinks about it later.... he's never been called cute before. sorry is that kinda ooc ?? oh well in canon hank isn't doing gay shit so it doesn't matter

-christoff... ABSOLUTELY fell first and he's so annoyed by himself for "letting" that happen. he is so annoyed by his brains ability to feel emotions like nooo what the fuck i'm meant to be a vessel, the savior of nevada. that is an entirely nebulous concept it should not involve having feelings.

-hank isn't really the 'fall in love' kind of guy, he just knows that christoff is deeply interesting to him and something about him has him keep coming back. though the feelings do get kind of confusing and frustrating for him because there's not a clear answer for him what he feels, which leads to outward frustration with christoff.

Cause you guys remember what Scott did with FNAF? It just started out as a game, but as the story got bigger and bigger and not exactly kid-friendly he instead started dropping hints in other games, books, novels, literally everywhere. And even though technically he "retired" and doesn't really control the content anymore, he still very much has an influence on everything that comes out and everything is still canon to the story even though it's technically not created by Scott Cawthon anymore.

Because most mangas just end when the mangas end right? That's the story. The end. Nothing else to discuss. But like I guess MHA is a special case in every aspect. Maybe Hori is going towards the dropping hints style story, because there were a lot of things left unsolved right? Take Midoriya's Dad as an example. Or the fact that no one became canon, or more like Bkdk didn't become canon. So if we think about it in the Scott Cawthon sense, Scott started dropping hints partly because the content was really not on the PG-13 side anymore. So what if Hori decided not to make Bkdk canon because of the public backlash the manga would get? Cause let's admit it, there would be a LOT of haters if that happened. What if, instead of making them canon, he's just dropping hints now everywhere for us fans to figure it out?

That would be insane, but he wouldn't be the first person to do it. And yes, hints aren't exactly canon, these are all just theories...but they very much might be intentional, and that means something, right?

Destiel egg!mpreg au but instead of the old fashioned way, it's Cas's grace undergoing mitosis amoeba style and slowly splitting off from him to form a new angel (because that's just how new angels are made here) but this has never happened to Castiel before, and hasn't happened since he himself was created, so team free will has no idea wtf is happening to him and why he's just so tired and sick and hungry all the time these days. Their resident angel is dying, they think, and there's nothing they can do to help him

additional thoughts below

Eventually an older angle (an ally to Da Boys) shows up, dealers choice, and is just like "yooo it's your turn man thats wiillddd, we gotta get you up to heaven like stat tho" and team free will is just "??? no ???" I have no idea at what point in the show this takes place (if it takes place within canon at all) but just know Cas is on the no fly list for heaven so he can't do that, and new angel's like "an angel's never split within a vessel before, I have no idea what this is going to do to you or the fledgling, and besides, you really need to get up to The Garden to lay this egg so it can mature properly" and team free will is "???????" even more now because egg?? garden?? what??

when an angels' grace splits, the new grace is sealed within an egg like casing for a while as it mutates into it's own form, and is kept safe in God's garden where it will then hatch and quickly develop into an "adult" angel and sever all ties to its host/parent. All angels, regardless of "parentage" refer to each other as brother or sister or what have you, and God is always their father, that's just the way it's always worked. But now you've got Cas, who's grace has decided it's Time, but is unable to access heaven without being detained and is stuck on earth in a vessel, and literally no one knows how to handle the situation

and so when the time comes for the egg to manifest, it just kinda starts,,, growing inside him, like a tumor, and now Cas is like Really going through it, but other angel (who has stuck around out of abject curiosity) seems fairly confident that once the egg has finished growing, it can more or less be safely removed from Cas. yada yada about a month later that happens and now Cas has this egg to look after, and though Cas the angel would feel no paternal feelings towards this egg, Cas the angel living in the human body does, it's a bizarre dichotomy of feelings inside him.

He takes looking after his egg very seriously, and oddly enough, Dean (because this is still a Destiel au) has also taken an interest in keeping the egg safe

(it's a piece of Castiel's grace that's split off, and Castiel is kind, and devoted and earnest, how could this that has come from him be anything but that as well?)

the egg is fairly reactive, and seems to give off vibes that it can understand the people around it, when they touch or speak to it, and it has a tendency to glow ever so slightly when it seems to be in a good mood, which is often

so you have destiel co-parenting this egg for the next four months or so, along with some mild assistance from Sam and whoever else happens to be around with them at the time, until it's time for it to hatch, and this is the real kicker, because what's going to happen now? what will it hatch into? what are the repercussions of not having been matured in The Garden? of being raised with "parents"? will whatever comes out of it feel anything towards castiel at all or will it forget it's parent like all angels do?

Hesh- peak dad/husband material. giggling kicking his feet ‘n crying when he finds out he’s gonna be a father lol. he’d be as involved as possible and I see this being something he’s the most proud of in his life. i think a bit of cycle breaking would be going on with him as far as the way he and Logan were raised (looking at you Elias, yea🤨), he’d do things a little different but in a good way. would still model his parenting style quite a bit after Elias’ though in many ways. def a worrier too, and may be a little overbearing sometimes bc of it

Logan- similar to Hesh, he’d be an enthusiastic dad I think. would brag about his kids consistently, regardless of what they do/become. type to be like “my kid made macaroni art at school the other day, it’s the best thing I’ve ever seen” lmao. i see him also being veryyy supportive in general, like do/be whatever you want, as long as you’re a good person. would also parent similar to how he and Hesh were raised, but i almost see him being more lenient in some ways. def the kind to let his kids learn from their mistakes and learn good, though.

Elias- ofc we saw a lot of how he was as a father in the game (lots of debatable choices being made💀), but i think he honest to god, like most parents, did the best he could. doesn’t necessarily excuse certain things, and i think Hesh specifically prob has a lot of baggage from that, but he was also a good dad in many ways methinks. generally solid father material alongside the easily criticizable behavior LMAO

Merrick- first, he def gives me girl dad energy lol. but regardless, i see him being very very loving to his kid(s) actually, like “this is my heart and soul, everything is for them, I live breath and die for them” type shit. I can see him being a bit strict at times, mostly due to his protective nature. under the personality we see from him in the game, I think his kids/kids in general would probably bring out a goofier side of him too, the dad jokes would be unlocked immediately lol

Keegan- I see him being like a mix of Hesh ‘n Merrick tbh. Very very proud to be a father, like “I’d put it on my resume if I could”, and would love unconditionally. i think he’d be the type to maybe be a bit overbearing/intense at times like Hesh, mostly due to how much he cares about his kids wellbeing/success in life. also very supportive, and i could see him struggling a bit with how to juggle his fatherhood vs his career (like a lot of military parents tbh). he’d be the kinda dad that his kid(s) really respect i think

Kick- i honestly can’t see him being a father too much, i think he’d probably be the one here to not have kids. however if he were a father, he’d take it very seriously. i think he’d be the loving and goofy kind, his personality would really shine as a dad methinks. in his kids early years, I think he’d be tweaking out a lot like “what if I’m not good enough, what if something happens to them”, but as they get older i see his attitude almost changing like “oh yea, they love to swan dive off the back of the couch, we just let them” lol.

Rorke-pre fed here cause let’s be honest…🫥. i see him being a great dad, probably struggles with balancing that vs his career like Keegan might. he’d also be a bragger when he could like Logan, but in a more “yea my kid is on the honor roll…literally got all A’s, wtf can your kid do?🙄”proud type way lmfao. i see him being very dynamic as a father, a bit strict but a bit lax. sometimes he’s more present, sometimes he’s not. I think he’d value teaching and guiding his kid(s) like Elias. also a “you’ll learn your lesson” type of guy. you fuck up and complain and he’s like “hmm, tough shit, better luck next time” after he imparts his fatherly wisdom about it lol

1. Jesskas (2017-2019):

So, Minecraft Story Mode. Yeah, we know this game.

We know the popular ships, Jetra; Lukesee; and Jesskas (Lukesee is FJesse). I remember being obsessed with this game, and they also were the first gay ship I knew tbh.

I was more obsessed with Jetra tho (that scene of S2 😭😭😭); But looking at them always made me so happy, they are so adorable together and all the AU's I saw made them even more adorable; AAAAAAAH.

2. Wrightworth/Narumitsu (2018-2022):

OH MY GAWD.

This ship, was (still being) my everything.

The tension; the lore; THE FUCKING FAN SERVICE (Capcom knows they're popular).

They were my first "Enemies to Lovers" (also Friends to "Enemies" to Friends again to Lovers lmao); my canonical event to realize how much I love this stupid trope.

I will never forget this gays (and Larry, gtfo Larry you're just a third wheel /silly); they changed my life.

I just finished the Brave It Together parts, and omg, wtf is Ni-Ki up to?? I knew it was too good to be true with him, the way he was so lax and chill. I don't think he's a bad guy, I'm just wary of him now.

I think Jay and reader are a good pair because they're the same in lots of ways. They get something from the other that they need, which completes them and make them whole. Is she that way because it was a way to protect herself when younger, so it's just automatic? Their dynamic can be frustrating at times, but it works. She reminds me of Daria in a way. I like her friendship with Isa.

Despite all the shit that happened regarding Jake, I really don't think he raped Mina. We've heard things from multiple povs about it, and I just don't feel that he did that. That club may be spoiled, rich, entitled assholes, but I think they draw the line at something like that. Remember how upset Ni-Ki was when he told her what happened when he drove her home that time?

I am an absolute SUCKER for pay offs like this, and for the three way love triangle between Mai, Yanagi and Watari (I know Watari and Yanagi don't have any romantic chemistry because obviously Watari is a lesbian but they're love rivals, and they have GREAT platonic chemistry). I will always talk about Chary Dance being one of my favourite Tetro episodes EVEN BEFORE I GREW TO LOVE WATARI AND YANAGI AS CHARACTERS IDC <3. Also also Yanagi at your service and those group of episodes are also my everything for these three.

I feel like the fire dancer and figure (ice) skater both falling for the same person is iconic. Mai is the perfect partner for both of them, and what I'm about to say is cheesy but idc, I'm passionate about these three. Mai's ice cold exterior and fiery passion to do what's right by her/protect others is a perfect combination of both Watari and Yanagi in a round about way. They both love her cooking, and they both genuinely love and care for who Mai unapologetically is. I can't even ramble enough to summarise my feelings on why I think these duos/trio works so well.

This is stupid, but you know those new LO hoodies the Webtoon shop has? I know the font they're using. It's Eckmannpsych which is an Adobe font.

That's not the stupid part though. The dumb part is the capital H and G in the Eckmannpsych font do not match what is on the hoodies, which would obviously be on the hoodies that have Hera or Goddess on them. So, Rachel looks to have taken the time to hand draw her own H and G to match the font style for those hoodies but did not take any time to make new, better art for the merch, but instead reused ugly panels from the comic. On another note tho, the LO merch is just like... disappointing in how bad it is for what's supposed to be WT's #1 series, which is, btw, a series with so much unique stylization that it shouldn't even be this hard to make merch for it! it just feels very "first attempt at redbubble merch", but unlike genuine first attempts at making merch (which is obviously a learning curve that I wouldn't judge anyone for being new to) this is a company that's sunk shitloads of money into LO so I don't know why they can't get better merch made?? so much of it is just the default drawings taken and slapped onto a tote bag or t-shirt, which like, yeah cool fine you're using art that's recognizable and considering the art is already made, it stands to reason that they should use it for more than just the comic. It's just disappointing to see how lazy it often is and how little effort is put into translating it onto a t-shirt/tote bag/etc. like we can't even have ONE exclusive t-shirt with a unique design that isn't just poorly copy pasted from the comic?

Case in point, those t-shirts that Rachel was advertising a while ago that were actually straight up falsely advertised. I can't find the post about it on my Tumblr (I'm pretty sure I talked about it here) so here's the IG story rundown I did on it ages ago:

Again I'd really like to have benefit of the doubt here that Rachel isn't the one making these designs, usually that's not how the merchandising process goes in these types of deals, so I'm not gonna point the finger at her. But it's just so odd to me that it happened in the first place. And this goes for a lot of LO's merch, so much of it feels cheaply made and rushed off a conveyor belt for the point of making money without much expense. Which yeah, that's a business model for sure, the goal is to profit, but like this?

You can't even argue that it's like people criticizing LO the comic because like, as much as I'll justify what I spend my time doing here in my free time, it's true that at the end of the day I don't have to pay for LO, so really the only thing I'm doing is inflicting psychic damage to myself, it's not like my actual money is on the line LMAO That's why I stopped paying for LO ages ago and only do it when I have a specific episode I need to review (such as the midseason hiatus review series I did). At the very least, if I really want to keep reading LO but don't want to pay for it, I can just avoid FastPassing it and read it for free so I can save the coins for other series I'd rather read. The Webtoons' FP system is very fair that way.

But this is merch explicitly made to generate revenue. It is a product, front to back. You can vote with your money by not buying the thing you don't like, absolutely, but the fact that it's this poorly to begin with is just so indicative of Webtoons' business practices and so shitty for the people who genuinely enjoy this comic and are being advertised and sold shoddy merchandise that doesn't even come looking the same way it's advertised. It's really not a good look for Webtoons, Rachel, or LO that this is what they're selling to people.

Especially for what they're charging, good lord-

Like, okay, they're hoodies and they're gonna be expensive to print and ship so the higher overhead cost makes sense, but jesus christ, with the kind of merch Webtoons has already given the stamp of approval on, would it even show up in decent condition? How bright are those colors gonna be? Are they gonna strip off as soon as I throw it in the wash? I'm half-tempted to buy a hoodie for myself just to do a review on it but I can't justify dropping $75 CAD on a hoodie that only has art on the back. Maybe it's just me living in the hellish lands of Canada where we play with toy money that's the problem, but it's just not a gamble I wanna take LOL If I bought one it would probably be the Hecate or Hermes ones because they're the only ones that are at least somewhat legible and have decent character art that isn't a character looking like they need to poop LMAO

It has me worried about what the LO figures are gonna look like when they release. Are they gonna have some creative liberty with making them chibi-fied (like a Nendoroid?) or are they gonna try and replicate the art style exactly and wind up making literal blow-up sex doll Persephone? 😭

NGL, if the figures are done well enough and don't cost an arm and a leg, I might consider buying one just for the shelf collection, but again, it depends. If Webtoons released a tarot deck with really good panels from LO (like the Tower 4 scene or Persephone sitting on the rooftop with her comb or Eros flying down into the Mortal Realm) I would buy the shit out of that. I would even just take the Major Arcana if 78 cards was too much to ask :'0 I'm not against Webtoons/Rachel trying to profit off LO merch at all, I just wish it was BETTER- (╥﹏╥)
