So I guess I'm out of the loop or smth and am not too serious about the dancing in the movie but why is there Ansel Elgort slander in WSS(2021)? I think he did a pretty good job considering he isn't a trained dancer like Mike Faist.

Idk maybe I'm not that big of a musical theater nerd but I actually think this movie made me like Ansel

hot tip: if you’re emotionally invested in a certain version of a musical, do not seek out other versions to leave shitty ass comments on them. it costs $0 to simply stay with the version you like and let other people enjoy other versions

West Side Story 2021 deserves all of the awards the world has to offer, as does the entire cast.

people have said they don’t wanna see WSS2021 because “none of the Sharks are puerto rican” but that is simply not true.

3 days ago, Cinerama on Youtube released behind the scenes for the movie and in the video featuring “America”, Steven Spielberg clearly states that all of his Sharks are Latino.

I don’t think i’ve ever talked abt it on my tumblr but west side story is easily one of my fav musicals. i’ve been waiting to watch the 2021 movie for soooo long and when it came out in my country in theaters I was out of town so didn’t get the chance to see it on the first week it came out but the movie only aired for a week in my country, meaning that i have missed it entirely so now i have yet to watch wss2021 and i am suffering.

I checked to see if my disney+ region has it but till this day i haven’t found the trailer in the coming soon section and i am further saddened over the possibility that the movie might still not be available for me. If anyone has a way to find out what regions the movie will be available in and when pls help ya girl out or recommend me a free vpn so i can change my disney+ region and hopefully have the movie available to me. thanks in advance.

ikr!!!! i was floored by his performance actually. when i first saw the trailer, i was upset they cast him bc i thought they just got some random famous celebrity to get views but i ended up really satisfied with the casting.

i thought his dancing was good, and his acting really struck me, even though his accent could be helped. when i watch romance films/shows, it's so rare that i actually feel like the characters are in love, or even care about what's going on. his believable performance (along with everyone else's) helped me get sucked into that film in a way i never do, leading me to sob like a baby at the end. and this is coming from someone who has maybe seen an ansel film once (?) and is no way a fangirl.
