Ok I might be crazy for this but-
I genuinely do not remember/know if this has a canon explanation, but why did Snape NEVER see Peter at ANY death eater meeting? LIKE ANY AT ALL. Or like idk smn MENTIONING PETER?? It just makes 0 sense to me
It's impossible Snake didn't go to tell Dumbledore to keep an eye out for Peter bc he might be a spy for the dark lord! And yk Snape didn't know Peter was gonna be the secret keeper or wtv, but Dumbledore did
AND notice how Neville's parents are the ONLY ones who got tortured/badly hurt? Like they didn't receive ANY help from Dumbledore like the Potters, or at least it's not mentioned (?), again, this is just from the top of my head (also not to mention they were as much in danger as the potters were)
DO YOU SEE WHERE I'M GOING W THIS???
Dumbledore could have literally planned to leave both Neville and Harry without families so he could later manipulate them both as they grew to kill Voldemort
Bc when no one cares for u and then suddenly u find out this old man cares sooo much about u and he'll keep u safe, wouldn't u trust him?
Not saying this is canon, but yeah
#harry potter#i hate dumbledore#albus dumbledore#harry potter theory#harry potter thoughts#this is so random but yeah#I also apologize if I said wrobg stuff cuz i haven't read the books in like ages 💀

So yeah, it's late at night, so idk if this makes any sense. But I've been rereading Magic's Promise by Mercedes Lackey (the second book of The Last Herald-Mage trilogy). And one thing I really really like in this book is how it handles Jervis, the armsmaster of Forst Reach keep (which is the main character Vanyel's childhood home).
In the first book, Vanyel was sixteen, then seventeen. A lonely teenager who felt like every male person in the keep hated him. He was the first-born son, the heir, of the lord of the keep, but he's far more interested in music and books and clothes and looking good than more traditionally masculine interests, and there's nothing he wants in the world more than to become a Bard, and his father wants him to be more masculine (and also suspects that he's gay and hates him for that too), so Vanyel and his father are at constant conflict. Vanyel doesn't get well along with armsmaster Jervis, either. Jervis is brutal and unforgiving in the way he teaches, and his style is utterly impossible for Vanyel to learn with the body type he has, but Jervis seemingly either doesn't notice or doesn't care, rather forcing him to keep training the same brutal style Jervis uses, which mainly jsut leads to Van getting a lot of bruises. And then Vanyel learns from books and by practicing alone with his sister, another style more suited to him. He tries it with his younger brother, and wins him. And in comes Jervis, witnessing it and making Vanyel spar with him. Vanyel is successful at first, but then Jervis presses on until Vanyel can't defend himself anymore, and it leads to Jervis breaking Vanyel's arm (Vanyel says in a later book that it never healed completely back to what it was, he lost some feeling in the fingers of that hand, but he's learned to work around it). And somehow the blame, after all that, is still placed on Vanyel. And you hate Jervis, of course you do, how could you not? All you really see is Vanyel's point of view, but what reason could he have for any of that? You hate him with nearly as much passion as you hate Vanyel's homophobic dick of a father.
And in Magic's Promise, 12 years later Vanyel returns to Forst Reach, it's his first long stay since he left home (he's no longer the heir, as he's become a Herald which automatically means he cannot inherit lands unless there's literally no one else who could). And initially you're led to believe Jervis is still a dick and he doesn't like Vanyel either. Now he's regularly managing to beat up at practice a boy called Medren, a bastard son of Vanyel's younger brother. And he's insisting Vanyel spar with him, and Vanyel's really not in the mood to have Jervis bullying him again, and is also worried that if Jervis pushes him too far he might really hurt him this time since he's literally just come back from a war. But finally he decides to just get it over with. Then Stuff happens, and there's a traumatized boy Vanyel's trying to protect that he brings to the keep, and the boy seems to trust Jervis immediately so Vanyel lets Jervis help the boy calm down at one point and generally look after him occasionally. But he goes to warn Jervis that if he harms the boy or Medren again, he'll have Vanyel to deal with. To which Jervis reacts with a complete shock like what kind of monster does Vanyel think he is.
And they talk, and we get to hear Jervis' side of the story. And suddenly you understand. He was ordered by Vanyel's father Withen to beat Vanyel enough to make him a man, and he didn't dare to say no because yeah, they'd been in a merc company together when they were young, but still, Withen was a nobleman, Jervis a commoner who didn't really know any other trades than war and fighting, but started getting too old to be accepted into a respectable mercenary company anymore, so if Withen had fired him, where would he have gone, how would he have made a living? And he felt he owed Withen for taking him as the permanent armsmaster at the keep. He didn't like having to try to "make Vanyel a man", and he didn't share Withen's homophobic views (he knew full well there'd been several gay pairs in the mercs he'd belonged to that Withen's father had hired, and that they were no less men for that), but he didn't feel he could say that to Withen and keep his job. And he also knew his style wasn't good for Vanyel, but he didn't know how to teach any other styles and couldn't see a solution. He started getting frustrated with Vanyel (who wasn't always exactly an easy person when he was a teenager, although who really is as a teenager, when forced to be and do something they don't want to?). He was also afraid for Vanyel, knowing that the keep was near enough to the border of the country that Vanyel would likely face real fighting some day - and as the firstborn son, be in the front lines - and if he couldn't make Vanyel a fighter by then, Vanyel would be dead, and that he didn't want on his conscience. He got frustrated, and lost his temper, and took it out on Vanyel. And by Magic's Promise, he admits it was wrong, and feels bad about it now, but he isn't all that good with handling his emotions, and at the time he was also too proud to admit he was wrobg and what he did wasn't working.
And it's just.... like, yes, what he did was still wrong and still hurt Vanyel. Neither the narration nor the character tries to claim it wasn't. But now we're given his motivations and feelings to it and not just teenage Vanyel's. And he admits he was wrong, and he's genuinely sorry, and he apologizes. And honestly, that's more adult and responsible way of handling it than some people would do in real life.
And that's what redeems him in my eyes, really. Not the fact that he had his own motivations. But the fact that he knew he'd been wrong and acted wrong, and he took the responsibility, and apologized. Yeah, the apology came twelve years late, but he probably hadn't seen Vanyel much either in all that time, and when he had, Vanyel probably wouldn't have let himself end up in a situation where they'd be alone with no one else present. Not with all those hard feelings between them. So better late than never. And once he's apologized, they can begin trying to build some kind of peace between them again.
And like... that's just some great character development. Not something I see in classic high fantasy every day (of course this is a genre where traditionally characters are fairly easily divided into black and white with little grey anywhere, but still). Like, that's seriously the best way to handle turning a character who'd done what Jervis had done, into a good and trustworthy guy. I really really like that. Just... wow. Mercedes Lackey is good at writing people.

Comedy: Ghad
By DeYtH Banger Toast it up… bitch… get a toast! Come on soldier boy… where are you going baggle dooie woobie shit? Nice guys… nice guys do you know this type of terminology… are you fucking familiar with it… we need to slaughter this fucks… thise fucks need to get wipe out + this here nation doesn't want providers. I win't discuss otlr debate… IT'S POINTLESS… AND I DON'T HAVE ANY TTPE OF ENERGY TO LOSE FOR SCREW UP SHIT When I walk… I always think about possibilities how can thuderstorm can hit me, how somebody can shoot me, how somebody couls be behind me.. Naked with erected dick and waitimg for the perfect moment... And plug it in (and let me stop here… stop right here for a moment… not really now… then… or there but somewhere in the middle… we as creatures always seek for a perfect moment… the perfect date… the perfect material… the perfect sex… kiss moment we are seeking and feel the need for perfection…) Or even a rock fall from a building … and it puts my miserable life to an end or even let's be honest… wrong light… right time… wrong place… moment… car goes threw me and YAY final moment of relief. Oh yeah I can't use "Oh God"… "Oh Holy Fuck"… and "Oh My God", because I don't believe in god… it's fiction and still why people get offended by invisible forces? When I wake up… I feel like day time rapist in mission… with this pipe in my pants and sometimes gets up… it makes me feel like a rapist, that's the main reason I hate males. I hate being a male, when my dick goes down, it's like a worm… Like a have worm, I always need to think to fix the dick, because sometimes… balls have moved the wrobg side or the dick has fallen, it's horrible and what I hate about dicks is that it's like a gun… "I got you fucker". Come and join my book club, which books to read next… what to read? 1) Repeat because you a retard 2) Life Sucks 3) Facebook is fucking your mom 4) Your Mom Sucks 5) Please stop being offended 6) Yes… I am a gay, so does and you 7) Dicks Suck 8) Your mom is bitch 9) Kill Yourself 10) Suicide is the new remissiom Why not to compile? I tried once to kill myself it went as far as to practice commitment and self-control, stuff which I lack in my descipline. Rapists are the best product on the market, they are authentic. They are alpha males! I was searching for a podcasts these days as so far I went from crine to horror to story narrating… but it's difficult to find a good dopy dark hummor podcast… Opie and Anthony podcast are trying kinda doing the thing Artie Lange Quit Podcast is trying to get to some kinda point and let's not miss Greg Proops which podcast is genius and as last Chip Chipperson.
