Of Gods and Men | A WIP Intro

“Even you, tricky snake. Your secrets are not for you to hold.”

POV: Third-person

Trigger Warnings: blood, violence

Synopsis: It was common knowledge to the Draygards that their gods, the elementals, were there. What they didn’t know was how they got to where they are. They knew the basic mythology, but they didn’t know the intricate and complicated relationships between all of the major and minor elementals. Life and Death, Light and Shadow, Spirit, Blight, and Grace, and many of the other elementals battle themselves internally and externally to find a balance between them. The question is, will they find that balance?

A Russian, a Mexican and a Japanese man walk into a jar.

A Jam Jar.

Out of the woods:

Trepid tears tumble ‘twixt trembling lips.

Loose leaves lie like lissom bones.

Broken breaths batter bare, brittle cheeks.

Cancerous cogitations creep carelessly close by.

Alone, and cold, and muddled,

A girl faced with a forest and no sound.

A child awaiting a hero, a saviour,

Or just anything willing to save her.

The trees are too tall for their whispers to reach her.

And the birds chirps cannot be interpreted.

The branches which press her hand offer no comfort,

And the leaves that fell before her can offer no crinkle.

She is not safe in this place-

She knows that much.

She knows that, like she knows that 

She will only live for as long as she can outrun the wolves.
