There's a sort of pattern of meme for writers that I kind of want to push back against. Not that it isn't funny and sometimes relatable, but it feels like its disincentivizing writing as a whole (for me anyway). There's a lot of memes and posts lamenting how writers don't like to write. Either its talking about how writers just want their story to exist, how blank pages are left for months on end, and generally how godawful the process of writing is. But for me, that isn't the entire truth. I find writing really fun and rewarding. It's a challenge in my process to pick specific words and hammering out details. I like writing both little and major scenes with considerations to overarching plot, character development, and metaphor. I've been working on my nonfiction ability and I enjoy learning something and trying to communicate both the information and why it's interesting to others. It's like working a muscle and like any good exercise I feel really good afterwords, even if it's a struggle. And it usually is a struggle, because I'm taking this seriously and hope my readers do too.

I don't know, I'm not saying don't make memes about the laments and struggles of writing. I just wish there was more memes that promote the positive aspects and encouraged each other in our journeys. I want to remind people we're doing this because we want to, not that it's a huge burden and the process is something to look forward to.
