BendegĂșz: I have very healthy ways of dealing with my grief! Like telling myself i shouldn't be feeling it in the first place! :D
AdĂ©l, tackling him in a hug: BendegĂșz, I swear to the doves-!

Questions
Thanks for the tag, @seastarblue !
I wasn't sure how to do this, so I just chose some questions from the list that I liked!
How did you choose the title of your WIP, and what does it symbolize?
Okay! This is a fun one! From Up High to Down Low is titled this to hint at a constantly present symbolism in the story.
In this story, things that are "up high," closer to the sky, are usually associated with good, and things that are "down low" with evil. Ex. Galla is in the sky, and the Black swamp is endlessly deep.
It also hints at what literally happens in the book: AdĂ©l and BendegĂșz go from Galla to the Black swamp, from up high to down low.
Whatâs your favorite trope to read and write, and why?
Family (found and otherwise!) Especially sibling relationships! They always give me the warm fuzzies!â€ïž
If you could spend a day with any of your characters, who would it be and why?
My rection to this: ĂKOS! NO, ENDRE! NO! BENDEGĂZ! NO, ADĂL! NO-
Okay, okay, if I'm really pressed for an answer Ăkos or Endre.
Ăkos would be very fun to hang out with! He's a polite and playful kid! Always adorable, and omg, I just wanna hug him and give him all the love and AAAA!!!!
Endre because (he's hot), he's a very good and attentive friend! If you're nervous about ordering food or something he'll do it for you! He's very good at assessing others' needs and trying to help however he can. He is also very funny! He'd surely figure out something interesting we could do!
Not to mention I could see his powers!
Whatâs a favorite dialogue exchange youâve written?
(So many! But:)
AdĂ©l: gives heartfelt speech about how she needs to know what happened to Ăkos or else she'll go insane
BendegĂșz, looks her up and down:
BendegĂșz: And you were planning on doing that in your nightgown?
What inspired your characterâs name, and does it have a deeper meaning?
I'll do this for Ăkos!
Almost all my character names are hungarian! I chose the name Ăkos for him specifically so he could have this nickname: MĂĄkos (put an M in front of his name)
MĂĄkos means poppy seed.
Ăkos' nickname, therefore, is Poppy Seed (I LOVE IT AND NO, I'M NOT CHANGING IT!)

@seastarblue (here's the answer as best I can explain itđ)
AdĂ©l and Ăkos have already faced something as powerful and frightening as the monsters in the swamp. In fact, one could argue they are very practiced at it.
Endre is just human, just a person, yet his magic is devine and all-powerful. And he took his jealousy and pain out on AdĂ©l and Ăkos a lot.
Imagine you are one of the little ones. Your brother is already much bigger than you. And he is mad (for even the smallest of transgressions, he's furious).
He towers over you, and you feel so small. His eyes are glowing a bright gold that hurts your eyes, but you're too scared to look away. Smoke is coming from his lips, and he spreads his wings (ones that are real, unlike yours) wide, making him seem even bigger. And those wings grow and grow till they fill the room.
All the while, he's yelling into your face.
Endre obviously would never have hurt them, unlike the monsters (and he spends the whole book regretting when he was like this.)
But AdĂ©l and Ăkos still spent their whole lives living with (and still loving) something angry, scary and powerful, and isn't it possible that this experience aided them in some way throughout their journey through the swamp?
I accidentally made a heartbreaking connection in my story đ

Endre (post story): I've come to realize that little siblings can be very useful when you want to get out of having to go to a council meeting because if your adorable baby brother falls asleep on top of you, you are obligated to stay where you are and not wake him. Like: Sorry, I can't work right now. I have family matters to take care of!
He whispers while stroking the hair of a sleeping Ăkos.

Oh, and Ăkos sometimes does this thing when he cries that he will put his head in AdĂ©l's lap and burry his head in her stomach, like one would with a pillow, to "hide" from the outside world.
Important hug post!
I just realized I never talked about this, so:
All of my ocs love hugs, but AdĂ©l and Ăkos especially! They are both very, very touchy-feely people. This means that whenever they are in the same room/ space, 10 minutes doesn't go by without:
Adél pulling him into her lap
Ăkos grabbing her skirt/ other clothing item
Them petting each other on the arm
One of them leaning against each other
Adél ruffling his hair
Etc.
And lest we forget my favorite thing ever: Ăkos thinking AdĂ©l's hugs are magical, because they always make him feel better

For the most part, Endre acts on emotion, rules based on them, but that doesn't mean that he's rash. I'd say it's 50/50, chance whether he thinks a decision through or rushes into it, but those decisions are always always based on what his heart feels.
It's both a strength and a weakness.
And it is the exact antithesis to Odette, who bases her decisions solely on cold, hard logic and nothing else.
It's actually what made them a good team. A good couple. They completed each other.
And now it is all over.
