This is a request from twitter where im asking for ships to draw in b&w! Glad to draw ships i havent drawn before, tbh i do have an AU with these two but with neuv🤭 This was fun to draw maybe i will draw them again!

hm..... AU where instead of being given a house to live in after her time as an archon, Furina willingly volunteers to be incarcerated and sent to the Fortress of Meropide for her crimes of deceiving the people of Fontaine...

this came about because I've been thinking a lot of the valid critiques of Fontaine's class system is largely unexplored in the archon quests, and also a lot about how Furina actually showed initial promise of being a decent leader but was forced to give it up for her "idol" persona, in order to fulfill her role as deceiver. and okay fine, maybe I have been enjoying the concept of wriofuri a lot recently (whether platonic or romantic!) I think Furina could stand to learn a lot from Wrio's leadership in the meropide while Wrio would slowly learn to see the true heart behind the persona he's known all his life. I just want them to have tea parties together okay

overall I think Wrio's depth as a character is largely unexplored in favour of the alpha yandere dom daddy depiction I see of him most often— but personally, I think he's one of the most level-headed characters in the whole game and the least likely character to be a yandere JSJJSF. I'm not super into his lore but while playing his quest + the archon quests, I remember really appreciating that he ran the Meropide in such a way that it allowed the prisoners to retain their sense of dignity and humanity while also enforcing rules for their safety and according to the law.

admittedly I have been genshin burnt out lately, but I'm very interested in writing this AU! I think if I were to write this, I'd want to touch on the class system and portray Furina's growth into a more grounded, mellow version of herself as she witnesses firsthand the impact of her (and also Neuvillette's, but more on that for another time) insufficient leadership. I believe that this would be a fic best suited for focusing on Furina's character develop, so it'd probably not be as ship-focused as my usual work. but I think I'd sprinkle in little hints of nvfr and wriofuri, as a little treat <3

​i'm thinking about a post archon quest time where furina is getting courted by wriothesley (he still sends her high quality tea, now to her apartment instead of the palais) and she goes with it now (because she's lonely and confused and finally human and he's one of the very few people who weren't directly involved in her trial, so there's comfort and escapism in that) and all their secret meetups getting heavily rained on (because neuvillette doesn't handle seeing her with another man all that well) and this leading to some messy neuvifurisley full of pining and complicated feelings and history

Kinda in a mood for Wrio x Furina (Wriofuri? Focathesley? No idea).

Like, at first Furina doesn't really care or pays much attention to him, just sad that someone so young as him having his life ruined until Neuvillette advocates for him for the Lord position and if someone like Neuvillette sees potential in him then this guy as to be something else, and Wrio is just the epitome of redemption in humanity and the beuty on the worst side of humankind, literally the perfect man.

But Furina bravado disappears, on one way or another she is at fault of the thinks that had gone wrong on Wrio's life and get close to him is so hard. She tries to ask Neuvillette and Sigewinne about it, trying really hard to pretend she is not that interested but they both know she is on to something. She finds out he likes tea, so she's thinking about gifting him some expensive tea but nothing is good enough, you know.

Wrio only notices her avoiding him, assuming Lady Furina finds him boring. He's not offended, in fact he thinks thats a little endearing.

going absolutely bonkers over the thought of a wriofuri mafia esque au. furina as a crime lord, except actually not, she's an undercover agent who's given up everything from her past and has been undercover for years just to get to this point, constantly worried about it all falling down around her and being found out, all while it's getting increasingly hard to focus on how this is all just a mission when she starts to get too invested. wriothesley is a hitman, though it's definitely not something he chose to get into. it was furina's call, actually, letting him work for her instead of being turned over to the justice system and left to rot in prison. he kills at her beck and call, which doesn't happen often; and when it does, there's always a mountain of evidence to justify it and no other way to deal with whoever he's dispatching. in the time between those assignments, he mostly serves as her bodyguard, and keeps the other members of her organization in line.

neuvillette is a judge, of course, and while he's aware of most political and legal going ons, he's unaware that furina is an undercover agent. maybe he even knew her briefly before it all started, and doesn't know why she may have switched sides. navia is the head of the caspar family, leaders of the spina di rosula, and is a close ally of furina's. arlecchino is a member of the fatui, an international crime syndicate, and is dangerously close to exposing furina's true motive. furina's like, 87% sure that she already knows the truth, and is just toying with her like a cat. clorinde and chevreuse are police officers and/or detectives, and emilie is a forensic scientist, so they all know neuvillette and at least know of furina.

given that wriothesley is spending so much of his time around her, he knows that furina is hiding something. he's in no position to demand any answers, but something is clearly burdening her, something as heavy as the weight of the world. because furina knows this mission has an end date; eventually it'll be safe for her to leave, and someone will come and get her, and everything she's had to do to blend in will be forgotten, and her work will have helped people. that's why she's doing this. that's why she's here, because focalors decided an undercover mission would help, and she thought furina could do it and she had agreed to. but it's been years. the end doesn't seem any closer than it did at the start.

and she can't confide in wriothesley, or anyone for that matter, but definitely not him. he cares about her, she's realized, even if she has him kill for her, he protects her loyally and without hesitation. things were rocky between them when she first brought him in, but they've gotten better- how could she betray him by telling him that she's not real? that the woman he cares for is just an act, that she doesn't know if she can guarantee his safety once she's gone? not to mention the guilt she must feel over the fact that he's stuck being a criminal when she should've found an impossible solution to keep him from going to jail and from this fate. she's already playing with fire by being this close to him, yet she doesn't know that wriothesley is more than willing to get burned if it's for her.

also i think she should go to defend him when someone calls him her guard dog only for wriothesley to be like "yup, that's me, that's my job, now get out of madam furina's sight before i tear you to pieces."
