i’m going to a masquerade ball next saturday!!

#i’m excited i’ve never been anywhere like really fancy except for weddings #i’m also super nervous bc i’m only going with my sister and not the rest of my family and i’ll #probably only know a couple other people there and idk what you do at a ball #people are gonna be dancing but idk how to dance in public i’ve never done that i’m so nervous #and midnights is coming out the day before so i’m gonna be so nervous about the ball that i really hope that doesn’t mess up my enjoyment #of hearing it for the first time i’m afraid it’s going to #but i ordered me a dress and mask today and im excited about how my outfit is gonna look. i’ll post a picture probably #the dress code is cocktail OR costume so i went cocktail of course and my sister is going as a cyborg…. maybe. she hasn’t made up her mind #yet #she was also thinking about an alien #also i was worried i might be overdressed bc i know it’s a ball but i live in a smaller very casual town so idk exactly how fancy a ball #would be to everybody else here #summer speaks

#the key thing would be deciding who all is in the party when the doubles happen #luo binghe #liu qingge #shen qingqiu #and yue qingyuan #seem like the most obvious candidates #so far the only 'telling traits' I can think of would be #1) Shen Qingqiu's 'Luo Binghe' is impossibly suave and hits on any female figures within a radius #which leads everybody else to say 'Yeah that's fake' because they all know LBH only has eyes for SQQ #and 2) I think Yue Qingyuan's 'Shen Qingqiu' is kind of ragged and underfed #even now #he can't stop seeing him that way. a little bit.#oh 3) luo binghe's 'Liu Qingge' would just be OFFENSIVE. probably his 'YQY' too.#4) if Shang Qinghua is in the group that's going to make things difficult #because shang qinghua's doubles are almost all perfect #except for Shang Qinghua's 'Shen Qingqiu'#who he definitely gets wrong in some way #because Shen Qingqiu is the only one here that Shang Qinghua did not create

Now he's always been quick both on his feet and his mind in how he draws his arrows but #Lately things have felt a little different #Almost as if he was a second ahead of everybody else and then as the years went by he started to notice the drag more and more #How it felt like the quick thought was stretching out longer and longer after Athena left #During the war it seemed like years would past before he was back in sync with the world #And the thing is odysseus recognizes that being touched by a god has changed him made him...different but he didn't care #It was cool it was an advantage it bound him to Athena proof that they were friends that he could handle having a goddess of war in his lif #It won't be till much later that it'll burn because. /shes not here/ but the hint of quick thought remains and #It burns because so many gods have been playing with him not as a friend or a mentor but just. Because they could because they wanted to #It burns because he can see calypso reach for him second before she does and if he flinches....#It burns because it's just another reminder of things he's lost and he misses his friend and he wants to go home but #It's been years and still his mind is a a few seconds ahead of the world and it. Hurts. So much it hurts #The only time it ever stopped was with penelope and diomedes telemachus. Athenas other chosen. Surprisingly nicely for the franchise this is from #AND the fact that the ''evil ai'' wasn't ''evil'' at all . it was trying to help and break through its programming to preserve the region #im sure that's not the first time that's been done but !! it's refreshing to see the robot Not be evil GVEIYAGV #and ARVEN ??I . I literally live in South Asia, a place still nursing the world's worst colonial hangover. That's like one billion brown people desperately in need of joining Bootlickers Anonymous. If I had to respect the rancid takes of every yahoo that lives here I'd have to drown myself in the sea.

Living in white countries does something odd to diaspora brains. If you call yourself BIPOC in your own head long enough you end up forgetting you're just a garden variety idiot mainlining white supremacy like everyone else.

Would love to tell this job to go fuck itself in favour of being a park ranger but unfortunately every national park that has given me an offer is somewhere where the cost of living is so egregious that the salary doesn't even begin to cover it. Maybe I should try for park warden instead

#the thing is i dont mind this jobs duties at all #i could do it all day #its all the management and work culture bs that makes it borderline unlivable #if all i did all day was screen passengers and x ray bags it would be nothing to me #i can deal with karens i used to work retail #its all the power tripping and collective punishment and treating us like children who cant be trusted to use the washroom without asking #like 3rd graders. and then making us clock in for it to time how long it takes us to piss and come back #while at the same time saying they trust us to find bombs. like which is it. you cant have it both ways #and then everyone i work with are fucking vultures #who bully anyone different than them and act like theyre better than everyone else because theyve been here 2 months longer #literally i spend like 10% of my mental energy actually doing my job and the other 90% trying to avoid getting yelled at #often in front of everybody else passengers and coworkers #work tales

i just came across ai covers on youtube and people are requesting songs in the comments instead of getting enraged and i am further losing hope in humanity and turning to misanthropy
