A terrible movie drawn from a terrible book

A let down. While her romance with Dr Kahn was true, it's the focus of the whole film, not about the woman herself. Bad acting by Naomi too.

Awful plot- again all about a romance, which should not be the focus. More should have been about the plot to take her down and her asserting power for 9 days only to lose it all, rather than the romance.

The most bland portrayals ever of 2 legendary women. Try the 1971 movie instead. This 2018 movie is not a remake by the way, it's just about the same subject matter.

Hair is incorrect. Kirsten Stewart is an awful actress to begin with. I won't even watch this movie. It's egregious just in youtube clips.

One of John Ford's worst films. Katharine Hepburn did not embody the Queen of Scots. I wonder how Ford got attached anyways when this topic is not in his wheelhouse?

a case that never sat right with me 😔:

something that has plagued me for years. I don’t think it was a big deal that Peter was waiting for Gen in the hot tub. while I am not a fan of the second and third movies from the to all the boys series, that scene in particular has never sat right with me. It was a weird thing to change from the book but also that it held much in the fandom as a whole. I get why, but it felt minuscule to the rest of Peter’s behavior in the movie. Peter loves Lara Jean, he made that clear. He is a teenage boy who by all accounts was never perfect even in the first movie. He was waiting in the Hot tub for Gen. But who did he leave with? Lara Jean. Who did he want to be with in the end? Lara Jean. Lara Jean is a romantic and got swept up in her own fantasy of it all, but had every right to be upset with Peters weirdo behavior. But!! The hot tub is not something that should be the focal point of why peter was in the wrong. He was lying and dogging. But the hot tub, waiting for gen. During a point where it wasn’t clear to either of them where they stood to each other. That is something you can’t blame him for. or can idc. And that does not dismiss the love story they have or taint the first movie, it makes sense. But also i just didn’t enjoy those last two movies so don’t mind me. I think thay first movie is something so dear to me, so clearly made by a women that a man could just never capture the complexity of teenage girlhood. not sorry. You can disagree, I get it if that’s not what you think, this is just my personal opinion. Anyways, Lara Jean and Peter forever 💌
