My OC Longsight for the @parahumanzine . Sucks that we weren't able to publish a whole zine this time around, hopefully next time though! I had a ton of fun making Longsigt here. I really enjoy the idea of a power that could be really strong but isn't because of how it's expressed or who has it. I'd love to answer more questions about her so please feel free to ask.

FAQ: OC Fanzine
Wow! What a response! Thank you all so much for the lovely comments left on the document, we really weren't expecting this. We've noticed a few repeating questions popping up in responses, so here's a post designed to clarify some things. What will I actually be DOING? Fear not! All will be explained when we finalize the format. For now, this is what we have in mind: You would be given a blank template of a 'case file' that you would fill out with the information of your OC. So, all you'd need to do is provide some art and info that would fit what the template asks! Think less fanfiction, more character profile. We will allow for some artistic liberties and creative freedom to keep the pages from getting too stale, writing wise. As an example, think of an anecdote from disgruntled PRT employees ranting about how this one independent cape is so RUDE, or a few extra lines within personal history for a villain who's got a complicated history. As for artists who want to participate don't have OC's, you'd give us art depicting other scenes from Bet to provide contrast between the more structured case files versus the reality of life on a world with superheroes, or help provide the small mugshots for writers. What does adopting an artist/writer mean? It means you want to team up with someone to work on a submission! Do I NEED to adopt a writer or an artist? Of course not! While we encourage people to collaborate and assist each other, if you can handle both parts yourself, by all means, go ahead! What does needing help with a submission mean? If you checked one of those two boxes, it means you're an artist or writer who needs help either getting art or words down for your character. The artists would provide a mugshot or something similar to the writer- nothing too strenuous, as we're thin on artists as it is- and the writers would assist the artists will filling in character details, such as history or personal anecdotes. As it stands, we have about a 70/30 split between writers vs artists, so definitely share this project with any art friends who you think would be interested in participating! I know X person, can we be paired up together? If you two are both on board with working together, sure! In that case, don't ask for assistance, that's for people who need help getting one part of their piece done. Will this be one OC per person, or can you submit more then one? So long as you submit a completed piece before the deadline (and don't worry, a schedule will be posted), feel free to do more then one! Just don't overtax yourself or your potential partner- and keep in mind, we want quality over quantity! We'd much rather have one very well-written or drawn piece vs three mediocre ones. Can I use Picrew/Avatar Maker/ect to make my character's art? We're going to say no to this, sorry. Can I use my SI? We're going with a no on that one. And yes, that includes OCSI's. Can I use my alt!Taylor? Nope! OC's only. I have a character from Earth Aleph/Gimel/an AU. Can I use them? Since the format of the zine is going to be Bet's PRT personnel files, we're afraid not. Sorry! That's all for now, but as the interest check and time go on, we made update this post, so be sure to check in. And once again, thank you all for the enthusiasm!

Happy Christmas to and from the people working on the obscure Dr Who fanzine. Christmas wouldn't be Christmas without a message from us, a random zine. It just wouldn't be Christmas. 🎄
To those who do not celebrate Christmas, have a phenomenal Dr Who epsiode wednesday!

Hi everyone! We’re super excited to start introducing our contributors! Let’s let them introduce themselves!
————————————————————————
Hey! I'm Gilly and I'm a spot artist for the Main Zine! I have participated in other zines before, but this is the first one after a break, and I'm exiced to see the final result! I cannot pinpoint exactly when I the DCA wormed into my brain and settled in as my new hyperfixation, but I remember around September scrolling mindlessly through Tumblr and seeing some fanart and thinking "uh, neat", and the next thing I knew is I was drawing fanart. I am so happy to have the opportunity of participating on this zine, everybody is so nice and I am so glad to be part of this fandom ^^
Tumblr
————————————————————————
Helloo! My name's sunny, and I'm a Bonus page artist for the backstage pass in our lovely DCA Fanzine! This is my first time in a fanzine and I'm genuinely so excited to be here!!
Ill be honest I was roped into the DCA Community by a couple of friends of mine, and that turned into a slip and slide of a whole lot of ocs and fun! I may not be as involved in the fandom anymore but I still love seeing the two goobers as they remind me of fun memories!
Linktree
————————————————————————
Helloooooo new friend!!! I’m Sinnabee - I go by Sinna or Sam! I’m lucky enough to be one of the merch artists for the main Glitches and Glitterglue Zine, as well as a Page Artist for the bonus Zine! I’m SUPER excited - this is my second time participating in a Zine, and I can’t wait for everybody to see what we have planned! I fell in love with the DCA by accident ~~and against my will~~ when I kept seeing cute art and comics on tumblr! Eventually fic sucked me in, and I’ve been happily doodling these funky little jester boys for 3 years since! <3

FREEFALL is my contribution to the Worm OC Fanzine run by @parahumanzine with art by @artistatthedisco
Tumblr media
Make sure to check out the full size art, because it has *details* and I should be locked up for the crime of reducing it to a teeny tiny thing in the corner. Seriously, @artistatthedisco did a great job on very little notice.
Freefall has been knocking around in my head for a while now, and it was lovely to exorcise them onto paper. Antigravity is fun, and so is imagining deeply traumatised people who may or may not be doing their best!

I'm a gold star lesbian. I have always been extremely skeptical of the narratives women give of being with men as supposed lesbians. But the more time I spend around other gold stars (online) the less I find the arguments compelling. A lesbian couldn't self-harm by having sex with a man because it goes against her base instincts? Does cutting one's skin not go against one's base instincts? Does suicide not? I feel like I'm missing a link here that makes this argument make sense. I'm absolutely looooooathe to give a speck of credibility to clearly bisexual women who spend lives sleeping with men and then try to worm their way into lesbian 'identity', but I'm struggling to grasp the logic that a lesbian could not possibly sleep with a man if she were, say, not in her right mind or if she were sufficiently pressured or, yes, coerced. On the other hand, I just do not believe 99% of the stories I've heard purely incidentally. Is there any room for nuance here? I think it's also troubling me that the majority of outspoken gold star lesbians on here are rather unintelligent and reactionary and I find it difficult to align myself with women like that. It's humiliating to say that I'm a gold star lesbian and to be immediately associated with women like that. I saw a woman say recently that being interested in lesbian history is a red flag for being a 'fauxbian'. I've seen other gold star lesbians say that real lesbians do not have close male friends or support male artists. At this point we've lost our minds entirely. It's a horseshoe turn into our own brand of political lesbianism. I really appreciate the posts you've made about the topic as you're very reasonable and you clearly give a lot of thought to what you say. I wish I could say the same for others.
Hi anon,
Not gonna lie, this message exhausts me because it contains two things that I don't like getting in my inbox:
Debating in which circumstances a lesbian could have sex with a man (which is just a negative version of "can lesbians have male exceptions")
Complaining about gold stars you disagree with on anon with no hint of you doing anything for gold stars off anon
For the first part, I don't see why a lesbian would have sex with a man as self-harm when there are so many other ways to harm yourself (including having violent/unhealthy relationships with women). Also many of the women I've seen claiming to be lesbians who self-harmed with men came out as bi later. It's easy to tell those women are bi because they relate to bi and het women who had bad experiences with men, but are weirdly lesbophobic, guilt-trippy and lacking in empathy with gold stars who self-harmed.
For the second part, I wish the gold star community on here was more mature and focused on creating positive spaces and content too. I don't like reading insults online because it mentally exhausts me, even if it comes from people who are on my side.
The reason why this part of your message still annoys me is that I've been telling lesbians on here for eight years now that you need to kick your own asses and put yourselves out there, express yourself (not in my inbox! on your own page!) and create what you want to see. But from what I've seen, while queer/trans/polilez have been creating more and more fanzines, novels, webcomics, podcasts, videos, indie games, etc., actual lesbians are just complaining that no one is doing anything. You are all staring and telling each other "Will someone do something? Not me, but anyone else?"... Then you wonder why we're all lonely and have no representation, even in amateur spaces? Really?
There's no such thing as a lesbian prophet who will tirelessly provide all lesbians with everything we need, we're a tiny minority so we all need to take part and get our hands dirty, there's no other choice. And I'm going to say it... A lot of lesbians are super ungrateful to the lesbians who actually try to make things : when I made a lesbian website years ago, not even my lesbian friends shared the articles on social media and I only got three external contributions, so I abandoned it ; I created a local group chat and organized meetups until I got a job that made it impossible, the other members not only did not have their own meetups like I encouraged them to do but just let the group chat die entirely ; I created a discord server for gold stars who want to make creative projects together, I'm the only one who posted anything on it. At this point, the only lesbians who are allowed to complain about lesbian community/representation in my inbox are the ones who are trying to do something about it 🤷‍♀️

Storia Di Musica #257 - Butthole Surfers, Locust Abortion Technician, 1987
The Revenge Of Anus Presley. A part of me\Was introduced to you\Then it walked right\Out the door\And tonight\You're probably feeding\Like a human Cannibal).

i just noticed you're using the 2e rules, i'm actually creating my own version of Luz in the original rules, she's a magus, but using the spell words rules so it's an archaic form of magic to fit with the glyphs,
Interesting idea for that. I can absolutely see Word Casting being reflavored as specific glyphs.
I’m still waiting on confirmation for my submission to Wayfinder, but my plan for Luz currently is for her to be a Wizard, but instead she uses rules I made for casting with Riffle Scrolls instead of normal verbal and somatic components.

I have very fond memories of Zine Camp in Rotterdam, The Netherlands. Without sounding hyperbolic, the team behind the event redefined what a zine fest could be - refocussing on the making element (both zines and friends) and exploring, moving away from the traditional market format (they still had some stalls, but most of the space was shared workshop / making space). It brought people together from around Europe and beyond, all with the intention to share materials, stories and space. 2019 was its fifth anniversary. I hope it comes back, virtually, for 2020. Its community spirit is the perfect antidote to a lot of what we’re enduring right now. Photos by co-organiser & friend Florian Cramer.
