Last week we bought a large private wine cellar with a lot of old vintages: Petrus, Lafite, Mouton and Latour bottles from a castle owner. We tasted the Petrus 1990 and 1995 to ensure the status of all the bottles, and they were stored in a perfect condition. Both vintages: magnificent! We rated the Petrus 1990 with 97 points and the 1995 with 95 points. Website online soon! 🍷

It's Friday! Therefore we have chosen to open the Dom Pérignon 2004 by Jeff Koons Edition. In february 2013 Dom Pérignon introduced a new “creator”: Jeff Koons. This American visual artist, born in 1955 and currently living in New York, made his debut when he was young, since then, created many designs. This is where the beautiful yellow design comes from. The 2004 Dom Pérignon is from a classic vintage and a very generous year in terms of yields. White-golden in color, the clear, discrete and subtle nose gives way to dried white fruits rather than yellow fruits, raisins and hazelnuts, as well as to floral and herbal aromas. Less generous and concentrated in the mouth than the 2005 and austerely dry at the moment, the 2004 shows its great finesse and characteristic minerality. We have bought several buckets of crunched ice. Wohoo! This weekend we bought a hard to find, 18 years old #Macallan, in #Groningen. From 1991, the birth year of one of our team members. Distilled in 2009 and stored absolutely perfectly! Two years ago we drank it for the first time and it tasted like caramel, dark chocolate and dried fruits. Now we were lucky enough to find another bottle. Today we drank the Lagavulin 8 years old. As part of their 200th anniversary celebrations, Lagavulin decided to recreate an 8 year old whisky edition. It's bottled at an exciting 48% and was matured in refill European and American oak casks. They have made 20.000 bottles. Tasting note: typically the nose of Lagavulin: smoky, sweet, smoky and warming.
