In July 2016, MEgain says she met Misan for dinner after her drinks w/Piers Morgan. Supposedly this was the day prior to her 1st official date with Prince Harry

i usually dont add to posts but im gonna here

the first time i ever saw a clear starry night (that i remember) was when i was a kid my parents took me out of town to see a meteor shower for about an hour or so in the late summer. on the chart OP put above, what i saw would've been around a 6 or so, couldnt see the milky way at all but i could see the stars and constellations very well, alongside the shooting stars. i already loved space as a kid but that moment cemented in my mind how it's not some distant far away concept, and that you can see it, right there. the literal heavens above your head. it's one of the most beautiful things i've ever seen and it wasnt even very clear (not to mention im nearsighted lol), i hope to see the milky way in my life someday. it's something every human being should experience, and it's honestly depressing that something so magnificent and ever-present is such a rarity for so many people today.

to add something useful to this post other than my own personal experience, this video by Be Smart has an incredible moment at the end that gives the best example i've seen on the internet of the *feeling* seeing the stars in person is like

I think one big reason why we don't consider the stars as important as before (not even pop-astrology anymore cares about the stars or the sky on itself, just the signs deprived of context) is because of light pollution.

For most of human history the sky looked between 1-3, 4 at most. And then all of a sudden with electrification it was gone (I'm lucky if I get 6 in my small city). The first time I saw the Milky Way fully as a kid was a spiritual experience, I was almost scared on how BRIGHT it was, it felt like someone was looking back at me. You don't get that at all with modern light pollution.

When most people talk about stargazing nowadays they think about watching about a couple of bright dots. The stars are really, really not like that. The unpolluted night sky is a festival of fireworks. There is nothing like it.
