what do you think was the moment that yuuji and megumi realised that they liked the other? which one of them made the first move? what would tsumiki’s opinion be of yuuji?
Let’s start with the easy one—Tsumiki would love Yuuji.
She’d be unspeakably thrilled Megumi found someone, and she’d love Yuuji for who he is anyway. He’s a good person. He has a great heart. And he genuinely cares about her brother. Yuuji and Tsumiki would be so disgustingly close. Megumi would be on the phone with Tsumiki and Yuuji would be like “is that my best friend???? Let me talk to her! Bestieee” And vice versa.
As to when they first realized they liked each other, I think Megumi borderline always knew.
I think Megumi is someone who is very self aware with what he’s feeling and has absolutely negative ability to actually address that. He knew before they went to the detention center that he liked Yuuji in a sort of vague, low level kind of way.
Like, was it love? No, they’d only just met. But Yuuji was genuinely kind and good. Megumi liked spending time with him. He was Strong and Fast in a way that made Megumi learn things about himself that he did not fucking know before.
I think that megumi very very rarely likes people, and that he probably never dated in pre-canon. So he wasn’t really prepared for liking Yuuji or planning to act on this.
It was in no way actionable information. Confess? Absolutely not. Experience the mortifying ordeal of being known? Ludicrous. Clown idea. He’ll put all these feelings down somewhere small and then one day he’ll die.
I think he regretted it after Yuuji died. I think a part of him wished he had told him, even if they would have never had time.
I think Yuuji didn’t even know he liked guys until he liked Megumi.
If I’m being silly (and being in the sea glass gardens universe), he didn’t realize until Nobara pointed out that his violent jealousy towards Okkotsu Yuuta, gods perfect man, regarding his relationship with Megumi was not a totally straight experience that he liked Megumi and it crippled him for days. He kept laying on the floor of Nobaras room and having baby’s first gay crisis. Nobara was ready to put him down like a sick dog.
If I’m being more serious, I’d like to think that Yuuji realized he liked Megumi during one of their softer moments together.
I think it was nothing of note. They were watching a movie together. Megumi made a dry, tiny joke that was par for the course when it came to his humor, and Yuuji thought to himself man, I love him. And he realized he didn’t just mean it the way he usually means it for his friends.
He didn’t realize how much he liked him until it already happened. Then he was in it, and he couldn’t get out again.
Then he kept lying on the floor of Nobara’s room having baby’s first gay crisis and she was ready to put him down like a sick dog.
I think that the one who made the first move would actually heavily depend on circumstance. I think Yuuji’s more like to make the first move in peacetime, but megumi’s more likely to do it when they’re in the heat of the moment/verge of death.
Yuujis a bit better with emotions than Megumi. He’s got that little bit extra bit of confidence that would let him do it behind the school, to risk it for the sake of having more. But megumi’s already had to live with the regret of not telling Yuuji once before. I think he’s the one most likely to let it all out in the heat of the moment and pick up the pieces after.

So I am operating with a pitifully small sample size, but a thing that keeps striking me is how queer movies coming from conservative / homophobic countries these days are still so... happy. We have got Kenya with a teen lesbian romance (Rafiki), we have India and a comedy about lavender marriage (Badhaai Do), and Morocco with The Blue Caftan, that very much is a movie about dealing with death, but also very sweet about it.
And like, it isn’t as if they were completely detached from reality, these characters very much have to deal with homophobia and are shown to be in danger for being queer. But compared to the stuff that has been going on in Western movies not even that long ago, think Brokeback Mountain? The homophobia is being balanced by so much JOY. No queer characters die horrible deaths, they don’t have to sacrifice their relationships along the way, and there is always a happy ending, if not overt, then implied.
#to be fair I really haven't seen many of these movies#because 1) there aren't many to begin with#and 2) I am not a big fan of realistic stuff so I tend to glance over everything that is not fantasy#Ek Ladki Ko Dekha was the most angsty of the ones I saw#like that poor girl was SUFFERING#but it still had a happy end#and I did say Brokeback Mountain here#because that is the one people know#but the one I REALLY was thinking about#was the Hungarian movie Egymásra Nézve#which was made still under the communist regime#in 1982#so it is very much the product of a really homophobic society#and I'm telling you that movie ended HORRIBLY#I mean lesbian movie from the 80's...#there is just a world of difference between it and the four I've listed#I don't know#but this does make me feel a bit hopeful#queer movies#queer representation

it’s amazing when white people and fellow queer people tell me, a jewish lesbian, that nasrallah had every right to do what he did. it’s funny that:
a. these people claim to be queer.
b. they claim to hate nazis.
hate to tell you, but:
1. you are either a queer person living in a society where you actually have rights and privileges and don’t need to be scared or concerned (hmmm??? in AMERICA HUH?) or you are basically larping as queer if you don’t actually fear extremists who want people like you dead. if you prop them up, excuse their behavior, etc when you condemn the ones in your own society.
if you support homophobes and transphobes JUST because they hate israel, you’re still supporting homophobes and transphobes.
therefore, you are supporting homophobia and transphobia.
2. saying it’s justifiable to murder half the world’s jewish population and eradicate the one jewish country jews are indigenous to makes you a nazi in its most simple, vintage definition. the nazis’ main goal was guess what?? eradicating jews and everything jewish.
(also fascists erase facts and history but that’s something none of you are ready for lmao)
you’re not progressive if you think this way and support these groups and people. you support fascism, racism, antisemitism, homophobia, transphobia, and colonialism.
you might be communist in the form of stalin, lenin, and mao, who massacred their own people and created dictatorships. or anarchist in the form of the father of the movement, pierre joseph proudhon, who wrote that jews need to be “sent back to central asia (aka israel and judea) and/or eradicated.”
but progressive? leftist? RADICALLY ACCEPTING? lmao everything you all support and spew is the antithesis of radical acceptance.
it’s sad that so many of you are so deluded that you don’t see any of this.
if you’re not afraid for queer and trans people living under homophobic terrorists and governments outside of your country, if you support the people who kill queer people and oppress them, you are what you hate.

Hello and happy Pride Month everyone ! 🏳️🌈
As promised, I am going to talk about an important lesbian in history everyday. And this first post is about one of my favourite :
Renée Vivien !
I have seen some people talk about her here but she clearly isn’t as famous as she should be, and she deserves way more recognition!
Renée Vivien, whose birth name is Pauline Mary Tam, was a British writer poetess, who wrote her poetry (and most of her works) in french ; born in 1877, she died in 1909, at only 32 years old.
Renée was openly a lesbian, and she never tried to hide it despite the society she lived in being extremely homophobic and considering homosexuality as an illness. In her poetry, she mentions her love for women a lot, and wrote a lot of love poems for several of her lovers. This even earned her the nickname “Sappho 1900”. ("Sappho 1900, Sappho cent pour cent").
Of Sappho, she was by the way a huge fan : in 1903, she published the work "Sappho", in which the poet's Greek texts are followed by a French translation, as well as verses by Renée Vivien, which thus "completes" the remaining fragments of Sappho's writings. This collection greatly helped to anchor Sappho's work and her identity as a lesbian woman in our culture.
Her work consists of :
Twelve collections of poems, totalling more than 500 poems
Several translations of Greek poetesses (including Sappho)
Seven books of prose
Around ten novels (written under various pseudonyms)
A posthumously published collection of short Gothic tales (written in English this time)
A book about Anne Boleyn's life
It is also possible to read her diary and the letters she exchanged with her lovers, friends and other personalities of her time, including Natalie Clifford Barney, Colette, Kérimé Turkhan Pacha and others.
Pauline studied both in Paris and in London, then decided, once she came of age, to come and settle in Paris. She published her first collection,"Études et Préludes" in 1901, under the pseudonym R.Vivien. This pseudonym later became René Vivien (the male version of Renée) then Renée Vivien, the name under which she will be remembered. We can easily guess that she first chose these neutral then masculine pseudonyms to be able to write and be published despite the misogyny and homophobia of her time, especially given the themes exploited in her writings.
Sadness, death, ancient Greece, love, despair, solitude and love are the most recurrent themes in Renée's poems. There is actually a poetry prize in her name, the Prix Renée Vivien, which rewards poets whose themes and style are close to those of Renée Vivien.
Among Renée's best-known lovers is Natalie Clifford Barney, a famous writer and poet, with whom she had a relationship for several years before leaving her, tired of her infidelities. It is said that Natalie never accepted this breakup and tried until the end to get her back by all means, sending her love letters even years after.
Renée then had a relationship of more than six years with the rich Baroness Hélène de Zuylen, married and mother of two children, with whom she traveled extensively around the world and collaborated on the writing of several works (under the collective pseudonym Paule Riversdale). In a letter to her friend Jean Charles-Brun, Renée admitted that she considered herself married to Hélène.
While still living with the Baroness, she received a letter from a mysterious admirer, Kérimé Turkhan Pacha. What followed was an intense four-year epistolary relationship, interspersed with brief clandestine meetings. In 1908, however, Kérimé, the wife of a Turkish diplomat, put an end to their relationship when she had to follow her husband to St. Petersburg. This break-up probably contributed to Renée's tragic end.
The writer was in deep psychological distress, which only worsened from 1908 onwards. Alcoholic and suicidal, she began refusing to eat properly, and attempted suicide with laudanum. After this failed suicide attempt, she contracted pleurisy, which left her very weak, and then chronic gastritis due to her alcohol abuse. She gradually fell into anorexia, and, with her limbs paralyzed by multiple neuritis, she died on November 18, 1909, aged just 32. Her death was attributed to "pulmonary congestion", probably due to pneumonia complicated by alcohol and anorexia.
After her death, intellectuals, artists and newspapers, out of lesbophobia, tried to make her forgotten by the literary world, describing her as a woman of evil and damnation, perverse and cruel, going so far as to invent for her a life of crime, debauchery, orgies with married women, violence and cocaine consumption.
Today, Renée Vivien's name is no longer known to the general public, and is never mentioned alongside those of great ans famous poets such as Arthur Rimbaud or Charles Baudelaire, despite her gorgeous poetry, her immense talent and fascinating work.
She's personally my favourite, and not only because she was a lesbian. Her poetry is the most beautiful, interesting and deep poetry I have ever seen. She deserves to be as famous as Victor Hugo or Paul Eluard (and even more famous, in my opinion lol).
Here is one of her poems, with its english translation :
A link to some of her poems (in french but you can use a translator) ;
And two links with some of her poems translated into english : 1 and 2.
You should totally buy and read her books and poems, I have them and they're amazing!!! I'll post more translations of her poems in the future for those interested.
Anyway, thanks for reading and see you tomorrow for the second post!

Okay, let me use this as an excuse to ramble. I've wanted to make a post about this for ages
The answer is: sort of. Because in SM114, he had a crush on Pheromosa.
The thing is, Pheromosa is "gender-unknown". While it was probably not the intent of the showmakers to make Meowth canonically queer with this, I still believe that this is quite compelling evidence. I guess you could say they made him "accidentally canonically queer".
But while this is the most head-on evidence, its not even my favorite.
In episode BW044, Meowth has an intense crush on a male Purrloin, only to quickly retract his feelings when Purrloin tells him he is male in the end of the episode. While this episode is clearly just homophobic in nature, I still call bullshit. You really want to convince me that pokémon determine another pokémon's gender by looks alone? And not like, by smell or instinct? I firmly believe that the thing that actually made Meowth retract his feelings was the peer-pressure of the twerps starting to laugh and point at him during the gender-reveal.
Next, we have his insinuated crush on the boss. I am not going to say much on this, you know the images. James' words here confirm that it is always Meowth's imagination that we are seeing. Also, they had to cut a boss fantasy scene in DP030 in the english dub because it was too suggestive.
And I just have to add this because I ship them, sorry, but his interactions with Pikachu sometimes seem a little on the queer side as well.
So much for actual somewhat queer material. But don't get me even started on the queercoding.
The whole story of him being trapped in between the worlds of pokémon and humans feels like a very trans metaphor to me. Also the discrimination he sometimes faces, people calling him disgusting or a freak just for the way that he is. His trans voice actress Maddie Blaustein read his story as him being a human trapped inside a pokémon body, and it was the reason she decided to come out to her co-workers! If that is not transcoding, I don't know what is.
The way he sometimes has crushes on humans also feels like queercoding / bicoding to me. He literally is queer on every side of the spectrum. Can't get any queerer than that.
And last but not least, considering his amazing trans and lesbian/ bi voice actress, it feels just unfair to label him as cishet. Come on, we can do better than that. It's what she would have wanted.
#the worst thing about this is that i just KNOW that it is just the fault of this stupid (good) post in their silly outfits where somebody#calls meowth straight bc of his astrocious outfit#this is just like the jessie and james are 16 debate#please just get this out of your head😭#meowth#nyasu#nyarth#pokemon#pokeani#team rocket

The "Amy likes spiders" poem in doki doki literature club (Natsuki's second poem) just makes me think of being closeted with internalized homophobia and I think it works really well for her
There's the poem if you haven't seen it!
(This is just me analyzing the poem and it's probably my longest post yet. I've been overanalyzing all the poems but this is the only one I've typed out atm lol)
It specifically makes me think of four things - Yuri liking different things and her disliking her for it, Natsuki being so far in the closet that she'll take any excuse to avoid the pretty girl™, Natsuki's self projection onto "Amy" and most importantly internalized homophobia, like I said earlier
It generally makes me think natsuri but I'll get to that later. So if we go from the internalized homophobia + closeted perspective (more like raised homophobic and doesn't know she's gay but ykwim), it reads as "a girl I know is a lesbian and Im meant to hate her for it. She's pretty and she makes me feel things but I can't be friends with her because she's a lesbian"
'The narrator' (Natsuki) heard a rumor that a girl, "Amy" (the lesbian), apparently likes 'spiders' (girls) and is repulsed. And that's why she isn't friends with her.
"Amy" sings the narrator's favorite love song, her voice is cute and it's making her heart pound. But she still likes 'spiders', so she can't be her friend.
She hurts her leg and "Amy" helped her get to the nurse. She tried to avoid touching her because her hands might be gross due to touching 'spiders', so she still can't be her friend.
"Amy" is very popular, but "she probably talks about spiders" (being gay). "What if her friends start to like spiders too?" (This entire verse rlly speaks for itself)
The next verse is shortest and even more repetitive than the rest of the poem (to emphasize her point) "it doesn't matter if she has other hobbies, it doesn't matter is she keeps it private, it doesn't matter if it doesn't hurt anyone" because to the narrator - she can't be "Amy's" friend, no matter how bad she wants to, because she's always going to be a 'spider lover' (lesbian) and she won't be able to ignore that.
And then the final nail to seal shut the door to the closet - "it's gross, she's gross, the world is better off without spider lovers. And I'm gonna tell everyone" because she needs everyone to know she hates 'spider lovers' to make sure no one knows she is also one. It's so gross because she was taught it was and now she can't stop thinking it's gross, no matter how nice/pretty/kind "Amy" is.
Onto the natsuri part so if you don't like that ship feel free to skip the rest of this (if you're still here lol)
Yuri and Natsuki like such different things (creepy and complex vs cute and simple) and they reach the point where they've argued so much that Natsuki doesn't want to admit she doesn't dislike Yuri. Even if she likes her poems, she'd never tell her because she feels like she can't at this point.
Natsuki couldn't see past their differences for a while, when she finally does, she's too embarrassed to apologize and too uncomfortable to befriend her without apologizing.
Nearly every verse of the poem will talk about how great the girl is. How she has a cute voice, she helped her, she has lots of friends, she makes her heart pound. But every verse she will still come back to "but she likes spiders. That's why I'm not friends with her". It feels like her gradually warming up to Yuri but still reminding herself that she can't be her friend, they're too different, Yuri likes creepy things (Yuri probably does like spiders so that's a bit more literal but it's also that spiders seem to symbolise everything she likes that Natsuki doesn't) and she couldn't be friends with someone so different.
And lastly, Natsuki's self projection (this is what the meaning is said to be in-game), meaning "Amy" is Natsuki herself. Natsuki likes manga and her friends won't believe it counts as literature. Her manga is the spider in this interpretation, she doesn't want people to judge her based on what she likes. She's had to be so defensive about what she likes, she may even judge herself for liking it at this point. She doesn't want people to judge people by their interests.
I keep seeing people say that Amy is a real person but that's one of the only interpretations that makes no sense to me. Because Natsuki may be a bit judgemental but even she wouldn't make an entire poem about disliking her classmate's love of spiders. She said herself that anyone that agrees with the narrator in the poem is a bad person. It's far more likely that "Amy" is a made up idea, she's barely even shown as a person. She's seemingly meant to be symbolic of Natsuki's flaws and insecurities, whatever you perceive those insecurities to be.
Portraying Amy as an actual person kinda cheapens the poem, at least in my opinion, because she was talking about how people should be given a chance no matter what (or who) they like and if Amy was a person it wouldn't make sense
#its just my opinion btw im not saying all this is 100% factual#this is how i personally interpret the poem and her character :)#doki doki literature club#ddlc#ddlc natsuki#doki doki natsuki#game analysis#poem analysis#character analysis#natsuri#yuri ddlc#natsuki x yuri

Hey, I am a new follower here and uhhh.. I just want to ask you how did you manage to get rid of your gender dysphoria?
I never did transition and probably never will be able to because it is illegal in the country I currently live in. But the gender dysphoria remained there for years (8) even if I accept the fact that I will never be able to change my sex, along with my homosexuality.
So maybe it is a difference in experience, with me not being able to experience the harmful placebo of the "right body", but seeing other people expressing how they got themselves cured of severe mental distress makes me wish I knew how to do that.
So, thats why I want to ask, what lead to the cure of gender dysphoria? If it is a correct way to put it.
I don’t know if you’re male or female, but I assume female?
It’s less about “getting rid” of dysphoria and more about understanding what “gender dysphoria” actually is. That differs from person to person, but for most people it’s a combination of things.
For me it was:
1) The pain of growing up female in a world that either treated me as inferior or objectified me. Plain old misogyny.
2) The pain of growing up gay in a homophobic religion and society. Being basically taught during childhood that I was fundamentally different and wrong did a number on my ability to love myself. I’m 33 and it wasn’t until recently that I had any kind of self love.
3) The confusion of growing up gender non-conforming. Not feeling like I could relate to my female peers, feeling like an outsider, never meeting anyone else like me or having any role models who I could see myself in. I didn’t have any kind of blueprint for what my life could be like as an adult - my only reference points for what life as a masculine lesbian would be were negative.
4) The constant anxiety of walking through the world as a gender non-conforming girl, and the way people treated me and acted around me. People don’t treat you well when you’re androgynous or clearly gay, and that led to anxiety and disliking being around people.
5) Feeling like I would be more lovable as a man, as it relates to relationship dynamics and gender roles.
Once I separated the feelings I was having from the idea of “gender dysphoria” as a stand-alone condition, I was able to see them individually for what they really are.
Those feelings were a normal response to being who I was in the world that I lived in.
Is my “gender dysphoria” cured? Depends how you look at it. Being female is still hard. Being a masculine lesbian is still hard. The way people look at me and treat me is still anxiety inducing. But none of that means I’m “supposed” to be a man, for some mystical reason that no one can scientifically explain. And I can work on improving things like my anxiety and self esteem individually.
To put it simply, being “trans” is the same thing as being butch. It’s all the same feelings women have always had, they’re just medicalizing it now instead of helping us learn to love ourselves. The only way to fix it is to build community, especially intergenerational community, and be with each other and be role models for each other.
Hope that helps! 🌈

This isn't really an ask but more so an observation. I've always wondered why I'm just so attached to FK the way I am despite there being numerous other pairs of bffs, some of them, like FB with over a decade of friendship under their belt. There's JD, PP, TayNew, OffGun, and all these folks post a lot of content of their interactions as well. But I just realised most of them feel like actual guys being friends in a bros-homies kinda way (I wish I phrased that better, but I hope you get the gist).
They're best friends- absolutely. And ig it's those interactions that provides a contrast to how FK are with each other while being best friends themselves. Like the queer platonicity just shines through when you put them against other pairs.
And then you can contrast them against EM as well, who, as much as I hate speculating, is probably actually a thing. FK is so distinct from them too. The difference is quite palpable.
And idk you can always tell when they're attempting fan service, mostly because First for the life of him can't pretend, and when they're actually just lost in the other person but in a 'OMG my bestie is speaking let me admire kind of way'.
If I had to guess, I would say you're probably attached to them for the same reason I am: they're both queer-coded. It's very rare for both members of a BL pair to be queer-coded. Usually you only get one—if that. In fact, it's a phenomenon so ubiquitous in the industry that Lovely Writer even made a joke about how half of a BL pair needs to be gay (but not too gay) to show that the production's not homophobic.
Regardless of what First and Khaotung's sexualities actually are, I feel a kinship with them because I see a lot of my own journey in theirs. We always joke about how the FK fandom is disproportionately comprised of lesbians and I think that's a huge reason why.
I also just don't know of any other pairs that are as co-dependent as they are, and the three that come close—MosBank, DaouOffroad, and EarthMix—are all almost certainly dating. FK are like the physical embodiment of that "More then friends, Less than lovers" shirt GMMTV loves so much. I don't know what in the world they're doing, but boy do I enjoy watching them do it.

yuuji manages to find the guts to hold megumi’s hand once and not more than 5 seconds later he gets the shovel talk from 90% of the people in megumi’s life. they truly mean their words that if yuuji ever makes megumi feel bad even by mistake, the higher ups r going to be the least of his problems. the same goes for sukuna.
the other 10% of people r frantically trying to book an immediate flight back to japan after his toes started tingling that something was up with His Boy.
just as yuuji thinks he managed the worst, he feels the hair on the back of his neck stand up and narrowly dodges assassination attempt courtesy of the zenin
The thing is that Megumi is actually such a low maintenance, chill boyfriend. Best boyfriend ever. He always replies to texts quickly. He’s on time to dates. He’s never jealous. They rarely fight, and when they do, it’s always because it’s legitimately important, and they always end up working it out. He lets Yuuji hold(!) his hand(!). The tips of his ears turn fire engine red whenever Yuuji does anything that shows off how Strong and Fast he is, which can be fun for Yuuji. It’s not a competition but also yes it is and Yuuji won it. He locked down The Best Boyfriend Ever. And it only took him 83 days of hardcore crushing, a 27 step plan, and nearly throwing himself off a cliff because he said “hooray” when Megumi told Yuuji he liked him.
He’s Done It. He Secured The Bag. Megumi Is His Boyfriend And The World Is A Perfect Place.
But everyone else seems to have some very strong opinions about that fact. Much stronger opinions than Megumi himself, who lets Yuuji hold(!) his hand(!).
There's a very confusing conversation with Inumaki and Panda about his intentions. Yuuji, very honestly, said that he didn't think he'd get far enough to have any real intentions past what he's already managed, which did not help. Maki had a similar conversation but it involved a sword. God's Perfect Man Who Already Gets Everything He Wants In Life And Certainly Doesn't Need to Butt Into This Too may be returning early from Africa. Yuuji would much rather that Africa keep him, please and thank you. There's a sniper that has him in his sights.
It's worth it.

AA prosecutors and main villains ranked based on whether or not I think they’re homophobic
Klavier: No, and he’s extremely loud about it because it makes Kristoph really mad. You would think he’s slept with dozens of people before bc of his job but he’s actually such a perfectionist that he’s never actually gotten any action. He respects the hustle tho
Von Karma: No, it’s funnier this way. He thinks ur beneath him on principle, gayness has nothing to do with it
Simon: He’s not but his bird is
The Phantom: I’m not convinced he has any opinions beyond what’s required of him, but Bobby Fulbright owns no less than 4 shirts that say “JUSTICE DOESN’T DISCRIMINATE” on big rainbow letters so I think the phantom is an ally by default for the brief time we knew him
Godot: When asked for his stance on gay rights he gave an answer that lasted 20 minutes and misquoted no less than 6 philosophers. Turns out the entire answer was him complaining about Lana Skye and didn’t answer the question whatsoever. Jury’s still out but Maya swears Mia told her he was bisexual
Franziska: Yes but it’s bc she’s a lesbian with the world’s worst coping mechanisms. Realizing she was crushing on a girl in boarding school was the start of her villain arc and I think she needs to go to a gay bar immediately
Edgeworth: Yes but only to himself
Kristoph: Yes to everyone BUT himself
Dahlia: Yes but for gay men specifically bc they’re harder to manipulate. Women are fine. I think she’s a misandrist also. She reads toxic yuri
Matt Engarde: He’s the world’s most bisexual looking straight man. He lets a homophobic remark slip in an interview and then makes an apology video about it. Despite being homophobic I think he would have tried queerbaiting his fans on multiple occasions
Morgan: She’s an ally but only to Maya because she wants the main bloodline to die out and that’s way easier if Maya is a lesbian. It was only after the matchmaking failed for the 12th time that she finally gave up and pivoted to murder

Hits different is the most explicitly gay song Taylor has ever released
'Bet I could still melt your world, argumentative, antithetical dream girl' she is directly addressing her dream girl here. She's saying she could melt the dream girl's world. Literally what else could that possibly mean?
'I used to switch out these Kens' for what? It could be she's referring to men as Kens because she plays with them like dolls, but specifically 'switch out' rather than 'play with' implies she's switched them out for something else, like another Barbie - something I've found to be a common experience among girls who like girls.
Also 'asshole outlaw' reminds me of her country roots, and country music is generally very homophobic and sexist. She used to comply by these standards and mindsets but not anymore. Now, 'don't need another metaphor, its simple enough' she doesn't need to disguise it as friendship, instead she's writing song explicitly about this dream girl who she's in love with and skipping the metaphors for other more direct references:
Like references to other songs too, like mentions of summer because of Cruel Summer with 'freedom felt like summer ... now the sun burns'. 'I snuck in through the garden gate every night that summer just to seal my fate' when the only garden gate Taylor's been seen around is Karlie's. The matching lyric: 'I'm drunk in the back of the car and I cried like a baby coming home from the bar' matches with 'I never don't cry at the bar ... I slur your name 'til someone puts me in a car' she's drunk and says 'Karlie' or 'Kar' which is mistaken for 'car'.
A New Romantics reference too, which is such a gay anthem I could write a whole other post about it. 'Like waiting for a bus that never comes' is to me a weirdly out of place lyric just like 'we wait for trains that just aren't coming'.
I'd even argue 'I heard your key turn in the door down the hallways/Is it okay? Is it you?/Or have they come to take me away?' is asking if interacting with Karlie at all is okay to do at all, if she can focus on the public drama about them actually being about her and Karlie, when all she can think about is being found out and taken away from her fame and reputation.
Then of course 'each bar plays our song nothing has ever felt so wrong' meaning 'their song' must be a popular and mainstream song to be played at bars so often, or more broadly could mean mainstream love songs in general which are mostly straight and don't feel right to her for some reason. Her friends tell her that's okay because 'love is a lie' but she knows they're only saying it to make her feel better, when that's not the real reason why 'moving on was always easy'.
Despite all the men she never really liked and the love that never felt right to her, this one person 'hits different'. You as the listener have a choice, either hear she's with her dream girl and it feels right, or that she 'just needed to meet the right guy', as straight people tell lesbians their entire lives.
This has been a gaylor essay thank you for reading

Hello!
Popular girl x Nerd/loser girl trope
Popular(fem) reader x Ellie
Headcannons about Ellie dating a girl who looks like she came from the "mean girls" movie.
Take your time and take care 🫶!
nerd!ellie williams x popular!reader
a/n: idk if you meant looks as in appearance or attittude/personality so i kinda did both.
honestly, before you and ellie started dating, you were kinda homophobic to her (internalised homophobia). plus being gay at your school was kinda embarrassing.
ellie only found out you were gay when you were crying in the locker room alone. it took a bit for her to pull it out of you but you ended up admitting you were lesbian and had feelings for her.
ellie was gobsmacked. you were attractive but she's never really thought about you like that until then. you ended up running away from her when she took too long to reply.
it took her one week to corner you and tell you that she wanted to give you a chance.
you came out as lesbian publicly the same day. you wanted to show her how sorry you are and how much she means to you. it was a big moment for you.
people were mean and cruel but you held your head high and bullied them until they went quiet.
at first, your relationship with ellie is a LOT for her to take in.
you're extremely popular and pretty. meaning you're invited to parties every weekend and people hit on you constantly.
of course, she knows you'd never cheat on her, but it hurts seeing people flirt with you and not having the confidence to say anything.
whenever you're invited to parties, you always invites her to come along but most of the time, ellie is too busy studying (or feels too awkward to come).
your grades are okay, but ellie's are incredible. she's tried teaching you maths and science but you're hopeless at it. most of the study sessions end with the two of you cuddling or making out (or both).
people are kinda judgmental about your relationship. ellie is used to it but it enrages you.
your relationship isn't the healthiest and arguments are pretty common. you storm off and ellie has to be the one to fix it.
shopping is one of your favourite things in the entire world. ellie doesn't enjoy it too much, but she enjoys seeing you happy (and in hot new dresses)
ellie is the little spoon and NOBODY can change my mind.
ellie is 100% on the debate team and you always go to all her debates. you’re her no.1 fan.
you love pda. you love to have your arms around her waist or any part of your body touching hers. ellie is a little awkward, but she's warming up to it.
ellie rambles about nerdy little space and dinosaur facts. most of the time you have no idea what she's talking about but you love listening.
for one of your first dates, you took ellie to a dinosaur museum. she loved it and explained facts that weren't displayed.
you thought she was adorable as she explained all these facts. it was literally one of the cutest things she’s ever done.

things I hate most about the "don't drop the t because they'll never accept us anyways" regarding the lgb drop t conversation is that
a) lgb divorcing tq isn't about acceptance from heterosexuals but for safety and wellbeing of lgb which is being actively poached and hated on by tq, primary heterosexual people calling themselves "queer" in tq at that. it's about lesbians and bi women having genuine wlw spaces without males, and gay and bi men having genuine mlm spaces without females.
b) actually lgb was getting increasingly close to acceptance and rapidly so. opinions were (and fortunately still partially are) shifting not only hugely in 1st world countries but even in 2nd and 3rd world countries too. Homophobic laws were increasingly being unenforced. It was seriously getting better (and fortunately still is but at a slower pace).
TQ put a major spanner in those works and those progress, especially when people felt that by accepting lgb they had to accept some of the straight up misogynistic demands of tq (such as entry to women's school's, sports, DV shelters, universities, homeless shelters, prisons, and of course the famous bathroom topic) as well as the anti child wellbeing demands of wanting people to accept the use of puberty blockers, cross sex hormones, (and in some edge cases, surgery) on children.
Of course when people are learning that that their preconceived notions about homosexuals, and about homosexuals raising children have no basis in science, but to accept that they must also accept a movement shown to be inspiring suicidality in children, yea the homosexuals are gonna have a harder time of acceptance that would be partially mitigated by a divorce.
This idea that "you'll never 100% get what you want (despite lgb goals drawing nearer) so you must stay with us as we drag you further and further away from liberation" is fucking ridiculous and this black-and-white logic does not strike me as dissimilar to how cults / high control groups use "you'll never get what you want on the outside so you must stay with us" despite staying being to your detriment.

For those of you who don’t know anything about Hollow Knight or its upcoming sequel, Silksong, there is some drama of astronomical potential that is going to be hilarious to see how it shakes out.
Three things. First, as you may already know, Hollow Knight is one of those hardcore games that attracts a certain type of cishet “gamer guy”: I’m sure you know the type. They can be more or less overtly bigoted, but either way, they’re all kind of That Guy. Second, Princess Hornet is one of the major characters in Hollow Knight, and the player character in Silksong. Third, every character in the Hollow Knight world is a bug, and aren’t depicted as having sexually dysmorphic traits that humans have: there are no insects with tits in this game, despite being bipedal and anthropomorphic. (Despite that, Hornet is frequently drawn with tits anyway, because the aforementioned demographic is outrageously horny for her. This is important later.)
In Silksong, Hornet is strongly implied to have a rival/deuteragonist, Lace! Not much is known about Lace, except she’s described as sadistic and set up as Hornet’s rival. And gamer dudebros hate her.
Maybe not full on hate, but they don’t like her. “Too mean and dislikable,” if memory serves. If I had to guess, they’re subconsciously picking up on the subtext and being homophobic about it: Hornet is the waifu of many a gamer bro, and between the subtext and Lace’s implied importance in the narrative/sadism/independence/backhandedness, Lace does not have a lot of love in that half of the community.
(As for the other half of the community, the player character of Hollow Knight is canonically agender. There are two canon gay couples within the game, and while not required, completing their side quests is essential to 100%ing the game. Despite being a couple of Cishet Male Gamers themselves, the Hollow Knight team is gracefully supportive of the LGBT+ community, and much of the fan base is LGBTQ+!)
But back to Lace: Lace and her subtext. Lace has insane amounts of wedding and romantic subtext despite only having 2 trailers and a demo’s worth of content. Off the top of my head:
association with white & gold, particularly white roses
Lots of church imagery, especially an emphasis on ringing bells
Lace’s and Hornet’s VAs are both Japanese, and Lace is straight up wearing a Japanese wedding garment while dressed head to toe in white
Visual design and presentation wise, Lace is framed as an equal and opposite to Hornet. Lace is likely to play the rival-won-over role that Hornet had in Hollow Knight, to the point of leaving the arena the same way as Hornet when her first fight ends
Calls Hornet delicious when first introduced. Then says she likes her when Hornet tells her to fuck off
Strongly implied to have saved Hornet in the opening trailer
And, last but certainly not least: the original Silksong announcement, with Lace’s introduction, came out on February 14th.
And that’s just off the top of my head!
I don’t want to get my hopes up, much less expect anything and get disappointed, but in my heart I am hoping gamer bros take the BIGGEST L when Silksong comes out. I hope Lace is complex and engaging and still sadistic. I hope Lace is the Vriska of Silksong. I hope Lace and Hornet have so much subtext it’s practically text. I hope the good end is locked behind a lesbian wedding.
I don’t hope for that last one specifically, but just imagine. Go on, pair off the one character that cishet male fans go “hhhurngh… female character” and draw with massive balloon tits to the character they hate the most. Do it. I believe in you
But seriously: The main character of the most wishlisted game on Steam confirmed in a wlw relationship, effectively alienating half or more than half of the fan base. Hollow Knight: Silksong has the potential to be the funniest lesbian W in the universe and I cannot wait to see how it all goes down.

Flash warning!
What’s worse? Your greatest shame coming back to life, or your greatest shame coming back to life and being happier than you?
Tldr: I rant about the most homophobic lesbian
Remember I made all this up! And I love reading all the replies yall leave!
So there are a lot of songs that make me think of vaggie and lute, the angst of killing your crush and being attacked by your best friend is just so juicy, plus friends to enemies to lovers is one of my fave tropes ever!!
I’ll always wonder about what vaggie and lutes life was like before the betrayal? So in the perfect world exterminators are heaven born critters, grown from bug eggs, they are raised to protect heaven from the outside in, basically they were born and raised to be nationalist soldiers.
Military indoctrination with bugs
Oh! And a design element with the halos is that every angel type is different, like the exterminator halo has a 4point star! The cardinal directions! And they can magical girl transform, that’s why I draw lute with a star pin/necklace.
But back to toxic yuri
Lute has this contradictory mind set, she is the most holy thing and can’t be capable of sin while also being the most wicked thing in all creation, capable of great acts of violence.
She loves the violence but she hates the shame and guilt that comes with that, so she takes it out on other things/people. Then she starts to hurt her friend, who she has a crush on btw. Very bad for her holy ego, she loves vaggie, but she also hates the way that vaggie makes her feel. Vaggie alway had the softest wings, and the brightest eyes, lute loved to smell vaggie, lavender, she recalls.
Lavender makes her feel safe and angry at the same time, it makes her face hot and tummy sick.
She had to get rid of vaggie to make all these difficult go away. It did at first, she had Adam, Emily and others to distract her. Lute became the second in command and personal chaperon to Emily! She was living the dream! She believes that it was for the best that she killed her crush, vaggie had to be put down for her sinful, tempting ways!
But the guilt and shame finally come to a head when she sees vaggie again in heaven
And not only alive… but alive and happy with some demon!
