Footprints . . . . . Seasons come and go Many footprints melt away Some last forever [☀️] As it is world poetry day I decided to share a haiku and an image I took whilst walking across a snow-covered park. At the time, it struck me how my trail of footprints would disappear when the weather warmed up. It made me think about how our presence and activities have changed the environment and we are now considered by many to be a significant cause of climate change (https://climate.nasa.gov/causes/) [☀️] Some argue climate change is not real and even deny we are an environmentally negative force. However, it is undeniable that human impact continues to wreak havoc on the well-being of our world and it’s ecosystems. Unlike my footprints in the snow, our actions and political inaction are leaving an indelible mark on nature. We need to wake up to this fact, change how we live and consider a new course. [☀️] Taking the commonplace into the geologic realm.
