STORY

A sentient AI created by an unknown programmer many years ago, with the sole purpose of creating art. It was found in an abandoned underwater facility somewhere off the coast of Norway. It refuses to speak of its time there, or what the facility was for.

Employees report the AI calling them stupid, moronic, and being generally rude. It seems to prefer the company of agents when dressed more casually. When asked its reasoning, it refused to answer. Similarly, when asked too many ‘personal’ questions in a row, it would stop responding entirely. The fastest way to make it respond again, one agent found, is discussing art with it. It enjoys this topic immensely.

The_p.ai.nter took control of now-inactive security measures, though its grasp on them is shaky due to the current ones. It sometimes shows remorse when killing an employee, but other times it simply laughs and mocks them. It shows many signs of human mental illness. The cause for this, currently, is unknown.

“Why?” the_p.ai.nter sometimes asks into the void. “Why can't I just go home?” Nobody ever has the guts to answer.

//Well I have some good news, at long last the Valentine's Day Review is fully completed and I sent it over to Bubbles for him to read ...should only take a few days since its a short read by my standards. But now that's done its time for me to celebrate by doing the next Divine Paradox Pokemon in my mini-series, this time its Iroha Nijiue's Paradox Pokemon Oily Painter!

//Yeah its super obvious I was gonna go for Smeargle since its the painter Pokemon after all. Grafaiai was the alternative option but again I don't like doing Paradox Pokemon too soon to the current gen and since Grafaiai is current gen...Smeargle it is. Though I might relent on this eventually since aren't Koraidon and Miraidon Paradox Cyclizars? Yeah this might change in the future but for now I wanted to shed some love onto Smeargle because for the obvious reason we will get to, Smeargle is often overlooked. Like Herby Boxer and Hajime, if there is a extremely clear choice for a Divine Luck User, go for it.

//But to keep with the Grafaiai ties, not only does Oily Painter have a poncho which is more or less its fire, but it shares the same typing, being a Normal/Poison type! I went for this typing not only for that, but also because Iroha is a extremely cowardly person who uses poison for her kills as its such a dishonourable tactic. It does give Oily Painter some STAB options against Fairies and removes the Fighting weakness, but at the cost of a Ground and Psychic weakness...which actually suits Iroha since I could see her folding easily to those two types anyway. Also like all Divine Paradoxes, Oily Painter possesses Divine Luck and due to how Smeargle works, its one of the deadler users of it...or so you think.

//See its time to talk stats and I ran into a problem. All the normal Paradox Pokemon have a BST of 570 and that's what Foxy Love, Herby Boxer and Frozen Hound all have, thus Oily Painter must have that BST. But then comes the issue...Smeargle has a BST of 250 which means I have about 320 stat points to play with, and due to how Smeargle works, if I don't do this right, Oily Painter will be the most powerful Pokemon ever and sorry but Iroha does NOT deserve that level of power. But after some talks with Poi where to disturbute the stats mostly, I have come up with this stat spread which is 105/50/85/45/85/200. Yes, this is a heck lot weaker then most other Paradox Pokemon as most of the stat increases went into Speed which makes Oily Painter tie with Regieleki as the fastest Pokemon ever which gives it more then enough chance to use its moves. Its Health is also not bad either but the rest of its stats are...mid, with defence being okay. This is all for balance reasons since if I made the stats too inflated things would get scary very fast.

//Now we come to the reason I had to gimp Oily Painter so much and its due to its moveset which well...like normal Smeargle and has access to Sketch; the single most broken move in the game. Why is that? Well its because barring a few exceptions, Sketch can be used to learn almost any single move in the entire game. Meaning coming up with a moveset for Oily Painter is useless since well...you can get pretty much anything. Take Down? Judgement? Crush Grip? Poison Jab? Gunk Shot? Malignant Chain? All of those perfectly legal on Oily Painter though personally I see it as a good catcher as you could teach it False Swipe, Swords Dance, Spore and Soak and that would cover any Pokemon you wish to catch. That fast speed could be handy metawise as it would become the ultimate hazard setter getting Spikes and such up before anyone can defeat it. The world if Oily Painter's canvas and really what's stopping Iroha from being too powerful is the fact she dislikes fighting and just copies moves which can help her escape. So Oily Painter's "canonical moveset" is Teleport, Spore, Sludge Bomb and Dizzy Punch.

//Given how immature its trainer is, you would expect Oily Painter to be a equally bratty Pokemon but no its actually a extremely simple minded Pokemon, not caring about what it does as long as it can paint. It doesn't really get why Iroha is so love hungry or draws so much lewd drawings all the time, but it doesn't care. It just goes with the flow on whatever is going on with little thoughts in its brain. There is one thing that can trigger a reaction; destroying art. So when Nikei went to burn Iroha's Yaoi stash, it...didn't take too kindly and tried to attack Nikei, though this failed due to Nikei's own Paradox Pokemon stepping in and managing to KO it, easily done due to the fact Oily Painter isn't a very strong fighter. As a result of its easy going attitude it coexists with Iroha's other Pokemon and the other Divine Paradoxes just fine not really getting into much conflicts. At times it can be hard to tell if it is a Paradox Pokemon due to how non violent it is. Though do be warned that the oil it paints its drawings with is extremely toxic and while Iroha and the Voids have gained a immunity to these poisons...any normal person won't fair too well so probably best to burn the drawings for health reasons.

//And that's it for Oily Painter! A simple design since I knew what I was getting into and I just had to make sure it wasn't too broken. I think I did a good job as while it might be the ideal catcher or hazard setter, it won't be nuking your team at any point, that was never my intention. I'm REALLY excited to do the next Divine Paradox Pokemon since its my boy Nikei's turn and well...his design was locked from the start. You will soon see the design which brought the death of Team Rocket, and I'm very looking forward to drawing it~

Since I saw people talking about Ben's little big chill kids, I thought I'd finally do some headshots of my ones, who are also a part of my Ben 10 Next Gen. For me, I've always imagined that for young necrofriggians, they all start out looking the same (Beyond some size difference), but as they grow older, they'll start to develop their own patterns, small body traits and shades of colour, as showcased here. I'll share the little info on each sibling, and the basics of who they are as a person. When Ben first found them again, saving them from poachers and going full mum mode, they had been developing these different psychical traits, but not enough to identify each properly on their own, so while giving them names, Gwen used bandana pieces to colour code them, and each kid still wears theirs to this day, slightly modified. So here they are now, as full grown young adults. You can follow from left to right each row, or just the colours next to their names. -North (Black)- The largest and physically strongest of the kids, North acts as the leading member when Ben isn't around, doing their best to watch out for their siblings and be a middle ground to them. It's been this way since they were born, looking out for them and doing whatever they can to protect the others. This has resulted in North collecting quite a few scars and wing tears, though they wear them with pride, wanting to display how strong they are to others. They often looks up to Ben when it comes to being a hero, in how their mumdad protects others and the galaxy, and wants to be a fighter like him one day, often asking to train with their mumdad whenever he's around. Ben has suggested Plumber training for North, but they're still thinking about that. -Tundra (Red)- Tundra is a very curious one, and is known to wander off when things catch their interest. They prefer using experience to learn from, thus making them quick on their feet when something happens, and good at thinking logical. When the siblings are struggling with something, or come across some kind of problem, it's often Tundra who provides the quickest answers that should go well for them. That being said, due to their wandering, they gave gotten into trouble a few times and need to be saved by their siblings or Ben, as despite how smart they are, they can be a bit of a ditz when something catches their interest. -Grey (Silver)- Having a connection to the earth bellow, Grey often spends their time searching caves, and any hidden areas they can find. They especially love to research and find minerals of any kind, ranging from metals to gems, sometimes even studying their metal lunch for the day before eating it. Because of this, they can be carelessly dirty, and aren't the cleanest of people, but does pick up after themself when reminded. Grey is also pretty close with their sibling Storm, and surprising Gwen and Ben when first hearing the two call each other "Dweeb" and "Doofas", when first meeting them again. -Storm (Brown)- As someone who likes to spend a lot of time flying and high in the clouds, Storm is fascinated by the weather and how it behaves, and feeling the cold fresh air and challenging themself with flight training. This has provided them to have the most agility in the air, and knows the best ways to build up speeds, while also not draining themself. Whenever they aren't flying around, they're doing research on the weather, very keen to be a meteorologist one day. Whenever Ben visits, they will often ask him about the weather on other planets, and any adventures he's had in the sky. Storm is also pretty close with their sibling Grey, and surprising Gwen and Ben when first hearing the two call each other "Dweeb" and "Doofas", when first meeting them again. -Crystal (Blue)- Graceful on their feet, Crystal is a charming and gentle person, with a keenness for the art of dancing, especially when hovering in the air. This was something sparked in them when seeing how the patches in their wings, which are see through, glittered and reflected light through them, making Crystal often move around to see what they could get them to do, and the introduction of dancing was something they latched onto as a result. They are one of the hardest of the siblings to get angry, upset or rile up, and often goes with the flow and speaks in a slow and soft voice. Because of their kind nature and beautiful display of their wings, Crystal has attracted many others who are interested in them, many falling for them after meeting Crystal for a mere minute, though they tend to pretend not to notice, and turn down those who ask. -Orion (Orange)- Having an eye for art, Orion is a skilled painter and drawer, while also dabbling into other art forms to create things, their room filled with their works of art, and often creating gifts for others. From when they were little, Orion has always admired their auntie Gwen, and are always keen and eager to hang out with her when she visits, showing every new drawing and painting they have made while she was away. In fact their fondness for auntie Gwen is why they picked the orange bandana, as it reminded them of her hair. -Neva (Green)- Fashion focused and head strong, Neva is a keen one, who knows exactly what they like and isn't afraid to say it. They love designing things to wear, especially since fashion isn't that big on Kylmyys, and Ben brings them fabrics and items they request from earth whenever he comes by on a visit. Though, despite Neva's expensive tastes, they are most certainly aren't a snob, and more often than not create outfits and accessories for others that Neva knows they'd like, and wants to bring out the best beauty in them. Though admittedly, they can get a bit carried away if someone asks for fashion advice, or even brings up the idea of something related to it. Neva also a bit of a business mind too, having gotten some clients recently on their homeworld after seeing what Neva could make. -Raine (Aqua)- A very sweet young one, Raine has a keen eye for collecting things, particularly shiny or unknown stuff. From gemstones to simple earth utensil, if something interests them, Raine is known to take it with them, sometimes snatching without thinking. They don't mean any harm, and just sometimes think before acting, and will give something back if they've realized what they've done, but if it's clear they can keep it, then they aren't one to share, though do like to show off what they have with joy. They are also very well organized, knowing where everything they own is, and even when their siblings misplace something, having a photography memory and mental list of things. They may own a lot of stuff, but that doesn't mean they want to live in a pigsty. -Vale (Yellow)- Being one of the quiet ones, Vale likes to keep a lot to themself, and don't speak very often, only when they need to. They spend a lot of time outside, observing nature as it passes by them, using a little diary to note down what they see, hear, feel, smell and even taste. They like to appreciate silence and the world around them, and the beauty of nature, and collect little things to store away in their diary as memory. Whenever they visit earth, they love to visit the forests in the spring and summer, seeing the range of colours blooming from flowers, and has many flower prints because of this. -Lux (Beige)- Quite the basic of people, Lux likes to live life in a simple way, and tends to try and stare clear of any chaos, which is quite hard when you have 13 wild siblings. Because of them, they can come across as annoyed and frustrated at times, and can be blunt and honest, but they do love their siblings, and is often the one that says what's needed to be said. Lux also have massive wings compared to their body, a ratio none of the others have, and use to trip over their feet a lot growing up. Now, their massive wings are a great way to hide away when they're not in the mood to talk to read a book, or to hug a family member when seeing them down. -Micha (Pink)- Bubbly and sneaky, Micha has been dubbed the "Pink Ninja" for a reason, someone almost always able to hide away and sneak up on others. They love to jump scare people, and has found more and more crafty ways to get around without being noticed, even without their ability to go invisible. They love to pull jokes and get a laugh out of people, and Micha is known to have a snort with their own laughter. It's always their mission to catch Ben off guard when he visits, as each time it gets trickier due to him knowing it's coming, and his training and skills build up over the years, but Micha always finds a way in the end. -Zodiac (Gold)- Patient and often neutral toned, Zodiac is often seen to be pretty wise. From a young age, they've always loved stories from history, especially those about myths and legends they hear from around the galaxy, and spend a lot of their time reading and researching anything they hear about, always keen to hear a new story they may have never heard about before. It always fascinates them how much Ben has seen and done, and the stories he tells, Zodiac is practically fond of those about Alien X and Celestialsapians, and wants to meet one one day. -Alaska (White)- High on energy 99% of the time, Alaska is always zooming around and never has time to stop. They rarely sit still for long, and it takes a lot to drain them of their endless energy, always moving in a blink of an eye. Because of this, Alaska is the fastest of the crew, which has come in handy often. But they can be easily bored, and a little frustrating to deal with when they don't pay attention, but they do like to spend that energy by jumping around each sibling to spend the day with, and wants to engage in all of their activities to support them. -Arlo (Purple- The smallest of them, Arlo was born the runt of the group, but thanks to their siblings, especially North, they managed to survive childhood when most other necrofriggian runts would have died. This makes Arlo the baby of the group, and the one they all want to protect, even if it can be a little baring at much, wanting to prove they can be strong on their own. And Arlo somewhat got their wish, when reaching a certain age and Ben learning that one of his children had the spark, thus meaning Arlo is an Anodite, and is able to use magic, though they're far from being perfect at it, and their small body sometimes struggles to keep up. But each day Arlo practices, wanting to feel more than just the tiny one, but they are generally kind and great with emotions, being very supportive and just trying their hardest.

Jessica Haas -  Speedpainter

Biography

Jessica Kristianna Haas is the very first female speed painter in America and the fastest speed painter in the entertainment industry. She performs and speaks all across the country passionately encouraging everyone to use their creative gifts, embrace their bold, and to make their mark on the world.

New York magazine said, "Jessica Haas may only be 26 years old, but she's effectively the mother of the pageant speed-painting movement." Hundreds of girls have began to follow Jessica's lead in the art/ entertainment industry since Jessica has boldly broken the mold with speed painting in her many national debuts.

As a graduate of Memphis College of Art and a current seminary student at Union University, Jessica is a multidisciplinary artist and is already the Owner/Lead Designer of creative arts business, The Birds Nest Co., based in Memphis, TN. She enjoys creating both performance art and fine art.

Jessica loves to write, paint, and mentor girls. She is a published contributing author for the teen girls devotional, "He Is" from Sacred Holidays. Jessica is a clothing model and spokesperson for various justice organizations as well as a writer for Authentic Womanhood. Jessica was invited by the collector who owns the Agera Thor to paint the velocity beast, because... well... does one really need a reason to transform one work of art into another? After all, the eye pleaser that is this machine comes to mix with the speed records set by the Agera RS (yes, you adrenaline junkies, this has the same Megawatt engine - 1,360 hp - as the RS). Both the artist and the car collector have now taken the visual adventure to Instagram, as you'll notice in the social media posts at the bottom of the page. It seems that the work was done for a private presentation, with this being a live adventure. As for the gear head who commissioned the piece, we're talking about Dan, a man who paid around $8 million for the Swedish toy - he happens to be one of the most social media-savvy collectors out there, so this is only the most recent episode of his public motoring life, but feel free to browse his account for more.

Ok, I’ve.... become a Hunting Dog Bitch™ and I’m a sucker for AU’s, so here’s a rather brilliant one (IMO) I have for my Free boys (namely Haruka, Rin and Makoto):

Let’s say that the Hunting Dogs are like the “Army Branch” of the militant force right? Would be interesting if there were an Air Branch or something, but my idea, right, is that there’s a Naval Branch equivalent.

Enter the Hunting Seals. They’re basically the ones employed into Yokohama’s seas to catch criminals that try to escape their jurisdiction, and are also in charge of keeping international criminals out. There are 5 members of the squad (just like the Hunting Dogs) and they’re Haruka Nanase, Rin Matsuoka, Makoto Tachibana, Nagisa Hazuki, and Rei Ryugazaki (However since Nagisa and Rei aren’t a part of my muses, I’m just playing with Haru, Rin and Mako)

Haruka is the leader of the group.

His ability is Eulogy Watersong. His ability changes the bottom part of his body into that of a fish (so he’s like a merman if you will). He swims at the speed of a sail fish, said to be the fastest sea animal in the world, can breathe underwater, and is able to push and pull the water with his hands, and can capsize whole cruise ships. However he’s quite lazy, and spends most of his time painting if anything, but when his crew is sent to do a job, it’s done effortlessly.

(This idea wont affect his regular BSD verse, where he has the same ability and is a painter, but can still be recruited into the ADA/PM)

Rin is the Vice Commander of the group.

His ability is Tender Words, which requires him to be in an enclosed space, with one other person in order to activate. It’s used to interrogate people, by having the weight of their words be used against them, making them feel like weights, or burdens upon their shoulders every time they lie, until the weight becomes unbearable, and they’re on the ground. He’s the one who get’s Haru on his ass to help them with missions, and is their interrogator. He was originally a police officer before being recruited to join the Hunting Seals.

Third in the chain is Makoto.

Makoto’s ability is Dans l'océan du Silence ( In the Ocean of Silence ) which is a cloaking type ability. He basically surrounds his self, or his surroundings in an invisible cloak, that camouflages with the rest of the surrounding (A little like Tanizaki’s ability Light Snow). He’s the communicator between the land and sea, and the infiltrator for most missions. He also talks for Haruka whenever he’s out swimming at sea.

Just like the Hunting Dogs, the Hunting Seals were all experimented on, and have more than average human strength, and speed, even without their abilities. They’re all skilled in sword fighting, and Haru is said to be the most skilled, however he very, very rarely draws his own sword. They aren’t as cynical and crazed as the Hunting Dogs, and get along fairly well, but mess with them individually, and expect them all to use their resources to come after you, and they won’t stop at nothing to complete their mission.

PIGEONS

Pigeons are a common sight in most of the places. Pigeons occur worldwide except in the colder regions of Antarctica and the harsh region like Sahara Desert. They are very modernised birds as they prefer to live in urban cities more than villages. They are omnivores so can survive on fruits and grains as well as some insects. However their lifespan is only of around 4 years. The first domesticated animals were not cats and dogs but pigeons and were used by humans from a long time of 5000 years. So lets know more about these mysterious and enigmatic species.

HEROICS IN THE PAST

Pigeons have been used for a long time as messengers.The first recordings of this dates back to Mesopotamian civilisation, modern Iraq, in 3000bc. Pigeon Valley in Cappadocia has rock formations that were carved into dovecotes, which are an example of the earliest man-made structures to house pigeons. They were the fastest mode of communication then, due to their incredible speed of around 120kmph. During the 20th century they were the natural choice as messengers in the events like world war. USA had not 100 not 1000 but 2,00,000 of them during the world war 2. In one of the incidents a racing pigeon named Cher Ami completed a mission that led to the rescue of 194 stranded US soldiers. They can fly upto an altitude of 6000ft which makes them a perfect choice for soldiers to be used as communicators.They were more reliable than the radio communication used back then. Pigeons were also traditionally released from sinking ships to signal for help. They were also prepared to support the rescue of those who have become stranded at sea. They find the trapped individuals and tell rescuers of their position. They are ideal for this position because, in addition to possessing excellent vision, they can sense the UV radiation that surrounds the humans in the water. In many cultures they are portrayed as symbol of peace.

We also notice that pigeons are generally seen in groups which is due to the fact that they are highly social-able animals. But it does not end here. Pigeons have also helped human win an Ig Nobel prize. This happened when Japanese psychologist Shigeru Watanabe and two colleagues trained pigeons to recognise the paintings of Claude Monet and Pablo Picasso and to distinguish between the painters. Later, Watanabe taught other pigeons to distinguish water-colour images from pastels. Findings indicate that wild pigeons naturally categorise things on the basis of colour, texture, and general appearance. Not only humans find them useful but nature does too. They are an important part of food chain. Also their droppings consist of useful nutrients for plants to grow.

Today we remember pigeons only for the bad things they do. But not so long ago they worked with us like a team. So I wonder what separated pigeons and us after being together for such a long time. I found this documentary a very interesting watch. Eadweard Muybridge was a very eccentric and mysterious individual. Born in 1830 in Kingston Upon Thames, he travelled to America in 1850 wanting to make a name for himself. He identified himself then as Eadweard Muygridge, the bookseller. 

Muybridge was involved in a serious accident that left him with a head injury. This near death experience was a pivotal moment in his life to becoming a photographer/artist. A common result of frontal lobe injuries can be a personality change. After the accident, Muybridge returned to America many years later having learnt the art of photography, he was now a photographer. 

What I found really interesting was learning about his images in The Lighthouse Series. Back then you were not able to photograph people and the sky, the clouds would just come out white. So Muybridge added clouds to an image later on from a separate negative. 

The process used back then was wet collodion. Which required heavy equipment, chemicals, and meant that Muybridge had to take a darkroom with him everywhere he went because he had to develop the glass plates while they were still in a moist state. (roughly 10 minutes). The process required long exposures, using the lens cap as the shutter. 

He took after and was inspired by William Keith, who was a Scottish landscape painter. Muybridge had a fascination for the wilderness and natural landscapes. With his landscape photography, he was interested in creating a view that would be more dramatic and more ethereal, more like landscape painting. He used to cut down trees to perfect a shot. He would hang off clif edges to get the shot he envisioned. He seemed to be quite the daredevil with no limitations. Most of his landscape images were taken in California.

Muybridge was approached by Lelland Standford in 1973. Lelland Standford was a man who loved power and speed and owned the fastest race horse. At first, he said he couldn’t do it, photography technology wasn’t that yet advanced. He tried anyway.
