TEACH ME HOW TO LOVE! 31. i hate unrequited love tropes
masterlist ââ previous ââ next
fun facts:
bokuaka is in this chapter bc i love bokuaka
usually whenever kuroo drinks itâs not too bad. he fell ONCE and got back up like nothing even happened. still, everyone was shocked and worried about him so kuroo likes to feign and exaggerate sometimes to get attention (especially kenmaâs). kurooâs a grandpa using kenma as his little cane.
kuroo read the entire harry potter series when he was little. heâd obsess over the spells and memorize them; heâd also drag kenma into his shenanigans and they would play pretend with the spells sometimes.
kenma secretly enjoyed it.
(lol guys i did in fact not read harry potter growing up i only played the silly little games im a poser but a lover at heart!!!)
kuroo has a very thorough skin care routine! however, he has mixed feelings when it comes to working with skin care brands. sure he gets to keep the products afterwards but heâs always crossing his fingers that they donât make his skin breakout.
he definitely waits an hour for his products to dry before going to bed.
TEACH ME HOW TO LOVE! ・ď˝âĄ an atsumu miya smau
synopsis: when y/n l/n, a rising actress, decides to star in a romance film that could make or break her career, sheâs unable to showcase her skills, revealing her inexperience within the romance department instead. worst of all, atsumu miya, her co-star and the main leadâs love interest, seems to hate her guts! with absolutely, unbearably zero chemistry between the two, an idea was proposed: spend time with one another in the upcoming weeks. will y/n be able to ignore her professionalism and listen to her heart? and will she, a clueless romantic, be able to pick up on the signs her co-star is sending her?
a/n: this is coming from someone whos never been in a relationship before booooo!!! đ the slow burn is burning me alive in a giant wok and im slowly losing my mind (i hate unrequited love AND slow burn maybe this is my way of coping) đ¤đ¤

got some questions today
Iâm sorry Iâm a little slow so bare with međ
Was it hinted that reader had miscarriages before hand?
did reader actually sleep with yujii?
does reader know sukuna is in yujii?
is reader a big bootied bitch? (Half joking)
â đŚ anon (can i be this)
HELLO HELLO! BRO NO PROBLEMS AT ALL, I intentionally make things vague and don't necessarily answer stuff in the story so ALL GOOD!! (And yes ofc you can be đŚ anon, all yours)
It was vaguely mentioned in Pt.1 that a jujutsu clan attempted to impregnate reader to breed half-breed sorcerers, but no children were ever born. It's left vague for reader interpretation for the sake of "choose your own adventure," but intended to let the reader know their character has struggled with pregnancy in the past, one way or another. He briefly mentions in Pt.2 that he'd like to "bear children" or "to try, at the very least." Either way, reader wanted to be a parent, but struggled for one reason or another. (Also, no guarantees the twins have passed away :eyes:)
No, there were no shenanigans with Yuuji LOL. Gojo is just a brat and wanted to tease and be dramatic. Will say that reader finds comfort in him because a) he looks like Sukuna, b) feels like Sukuna, c) Sukuna is deadass lurking in there and is probably resonating with his baby mama on the DL. Reader was mostly lonely and sad and scared and needed some comfort
Reader knows, but doesn't know. Reader is portrayed as very soft/naiive/gentle/compassionate, but in reality, he was already a couple hundred years old when he met Sukuna, so he's seen a lot and understands even more. He probably knows Sukuna is in there, especially because the man left his mark on him with reverse curse technique, and kitsune in myth have many avenues of communication outside of the waking world's spoken world. And considering Sukuna has his own 'domain' inside of Yuuji, in a way, lots could be happening BTS đ
In spirit, hugest booty. Giant cxck, even. In reality, a medium-bootied bitch. Still giant cxck, tho
TY FOR THE ASK AND FOR THE QUESTIONS!! HOPE THIS KINDA HELPED?

in reply to your recent post about the pirate au asks: i mean, what is there to say except for "tell us everything"? you mentioned coming up with a storyline in the tags, so im obviously wondering about how the characters met, esp phoenix and miles and phoenix and maya. also, the angst?? did you implement the dl-6 incident/disbarment/any other canon angst into this somehow? so yeah, whatever you can tell us, i'm happy with it. also my god is your art good, i'm endlessly fascinated by the sketches
hehe well EVERYTHING is definitely a lot to tell but i can answer specific things like how miles and phoenix meet (and meet. and meet again) and the beginning of phoenix and maya's friendship, but half the credit also goes to my beloved wonderful friend @/rendevok for allowing me to scream in her dms ^^
so! maya and phoenix :) they meet after the disaster that is the Hawthorne affair, where dahlia accuses phoenix of murdering another man, and he's saved by the wits of one mia fey, a clever blacksmith who's looking for a way to restore her family name after... less than pleasant events in the past. she later takes on phoenix as an apprentice, bc no one else would want to deal with a commoner who's made an enemy of nobles, even if they were at fault in the end, bc the social game is dangerous
obviously, mia's efforts end about as well as they do for her in canon, and she's murdered for her snooping. phoenix then meets maya, and after helping her keep the family smith in the aftermath of the suspicions over her sister's death, they both get into shenanigans over the next couple of years, out of their incessant need to help, and their talent of literally not being able to stay out of the center of attention (unintentionally), maya is essentially phoenix's partner in arms, all through the days of the smith, up until they're forced to skip town on a stolen ship with one trucy and one pearl in tow
miles and phoenix are far more complicated than they ever need to be, but that's like, half the fun yk? they've vaguely met when they were kids, and miles obviously still inspired phoenix's general moral code. But, gregory still dies, miles is still taken in by the von karmas and all of a sudden he's just a ghost in phoenix's memory.
fast-forward years later, and miles has definitely heard phoenix's name around, especially since the mia's death. how phoenix makes a habit of taking on strays and giving them the help they need to not end up alone, and his sheer blind faith in people, and it's almost too uncomfortably close to home for miles. still, he somehow manages to actually meet phoenix! a very limited number of times though.
Miles still has a high position as an advocate, and phoenix still is only a very busy blacksmith, and travel isn't as fast as it is in the modern day. But nevertheless, phoenix's words and conversations do enough to spark the need to truly understand what went on during his father's death, it's just only unfortunate that he decides to go about it on his own (but like. Think him solving this mystery with the help of his aai buddies so he's not completely alone :))
He still leaves, and phoenix watches him go, and as happy as he is that miles is trying to figure these things out, he wishes he could help, or make him stay. what's worse is that the world's worst game of telephone ensues and now phoenix hears news of the "miles edgeworth chooses death" bit, so fun times for everyone orz
but then the gramarye affair occurs, and all of a sudden there's a bounty on phoenix's life for hiding a murderer and possessing (faked) evidence linking him to it all. it's not a situation he can talk himself out of, so he runs with his family in tow and disappears onto the sea. And miles isn't there.
So his canon disbarment era is essentially his piracy era, and the changes are obvious. He's more jaded and cynical, and painfully efficient to a fault. You wouldn't be able to recognise the humble blacksmith anywhere in those eyes, and he knows it. whatever was left of him was buried onshore before they set sail, and he hasn't looked back since.
Miles only hears brief hearsay about the events of the gramarye affair and he's absolutely stunned because there is no way the phoenix he remembers could ever be the same as the criminal they're describing who's disappeared, but it's been long enough that he hesitates at the thought of searching for the man himself, he's not sure his presence would be warmly received either. However he doesn't have to wonder anymore, bc his latest voyage is interrupted by a pirates ambush, and it's led by the ghost of a man he never thought he'd see again.
From then on its only a matter of miles being taken as hostage, and as a bargain, receiving phoenix's word that if miles can beat the captain at a duel, he'll let him off scot free. But obviously it can't be that easy, where else would 90% of the tension in the story come from then?
and that's pretty much part of the set up for the au hehe, i wrote a whole heck of a lot and i hope you enjoy reading it holy hell fnkskf
also thank you so much!!! I'm very glad you enjoy my crazed doodles of this au it means a lot to me :3 đ
#nimki talks#too much in this scenario jfkskkf#i have too many thoughts in my brain about this story can you tell#narumitsu pirate au

Crossover pt. 2 but man I donât want to do a comic. So summaries mixed with doodles
After Delancey and Schwarzschild introduces themselves, Schwarzs starts questioning where he is. DL describes Paradise, but Schwarzs goes âyeah i have no idea where i amâ. DL recommends going to Cogâs Tower, as perhaps, Cog might be aware of this sudden visit (maybe multiverse shenanigans or somethinâ). So when the two get to the Tower and go to the top, they meet not only Cog, but SQ as well.
SQ looks as Schwarzs questionably but says nothing, while Schwarzs directly states that he couldâve sworn he met SQ before⌠Though SQ denies it. Some awkward tension later, Cog tells DL that they have been noticing strange signs in the different areas of the world. Namely, ones nearby the Ancient Heroes⌠SQ, Runner and Hype. There was a fourth sign, but that keeps disappearing and reappearing, so they canât say for certain where that one might be.
DL gets a weird feeling, in combination with the strange correlation he thought of earlier. Nevertheless, DL goes over to Schwarzs and mentions that his teammates may be here after all. Schwarzs is hopeful, though keeps glancing at SQ, who only gives him confused looks. Schwarzs asks where they might be, to which DL simply says to follow him.

Soul Bound and Closer Then Ever
Everyone in the life series has amnesia and doesnât remember anything outside of the games. After the game ends, only the winner retains their memory. The winners remember every following game as well.
Things change after about a week after Double Life. Everyone gains the memories of every previous game, and the soul bonds come back as well. The memories from Double Life are the strongest in memory and emotion, and memories from 3rd Life are the weakest. Theyâre still present, but everyone reacts more strongly to DL than LL or 3L.
Over time the bond gets stronger and stronger, until the soulmates arenât just sharing damage anymore and are start sharing feelings and even touch. They eventually learn they can block out those feelings, which is a relief to some.
Soon after this, one by one everyone gains a trait from their soulmate. Each person gains it a couple hours after another. One half of the group gain it first, then it loops around for their soulmates to gain something. This can either be an easy process (gaining magic) or an absolutely horrible one (growing wings).
While Grian and Pearl are on the same server as Scar and Tango, and Jimmy is on the same server as Scott, not everyone has a chance at understanding just what traits they inherited. So Grian gets in contact with Scott and they create a server together so everyone can meet together and talk to their soulmates. Itâs a peaceful world for any of them to visit at any time. After discussing whatâs going on with everyone on that server, everyone is left to talk with their soulmate or do whatever they want. Some people visit the server regularly, others barely do.
Grian and Scott, fully aware of the otherâs concealed powers, meet to discuss what exactly is going on and how to undo it, if it becomes a problem, that is. Which it kinda is already with MCC, sharing damage is really bad during survival games. Especially since thereâs usually at least one duo playing in the games at a time.
Gonna add a bit more clarification: Starborns are really powerful and got targeted because of that. So now they generally hide what they are from everyone. The same could be said for Watchers, although Watchers are bad, Starborns are not. Either way, Grian and Scott could sense the magic on the other. Scott took Grian for what he is, a rogue Watcher, so he isnât worried about watcher shenanigans (from Grian at least).

In a game of off-the-wall hijinks and shenanigans, this is my biggest pet peeve.
Yogi was not found innocent. He was found not guilty! In the legal world, there is a huge difference between these two things. Innocent means you never did the crime. Not guilty means the prosecution failed to meet their burden of proof. The DL-6 ruling was predicated on Yogi's mental state; brain damage meant he wasn't in control of his actions. He shot Gregory, but it wasn't murder, it was manslaughter, and probably accidental manslaughter at that (hence why he was let go and also why, realistically, Edgeworth would never have gone to jail even if he HAD done it).
It's such a tiny thing and the LEAST of the tomfoolery, but it always stands out to me đ I took one (1) intro to law class in college and even I know it's never innocent, it's not guilty. Get it together, Capcom!

Maybe the distrust in First Contact would completely nullify things, "prevent" Star Trek? Or maybe a completely different Federation (or UFP), or one with different views?
Or maybe it'd just be a direct cause or make things so much more dangerous? Humans trying to engineer themselves to an even larger extent to best the Yokai in some twisted hate. Stricter Federation?
Could we see whatever organization forms put Draxum on trial for all those crazy forcing mutation shenanigans? (That is if Draxum lives that long I forgot LOL)
We could end up with a timeline a lot like the alternate timeline we see in season 2 of Star Trek: Picard (*cough* diet mirror-verse *cough*) where Earth decided to be conquerors rather than explorers. But admittedly, I'm a little opposed to that route, what can I say, I like Star Trek's inherent optimism.
There's a lot of steps leading up to first contact in Trek lore (and man do I need to watch the First Contact movie again, I'm just being reminded of how good it is) so let's explore this hypothetical for a bit.
I don't think it would be too far fetched to think that someone like Bishop would probably have a direct role in the creation of the Augments and sowing mistrust in yokai, mutants and aliens. I think he'd see it as a fighting fire with fire situation, if he got ahold of and poached Draxum's work (while also condemning him for it like the hypocritical bastard he is) to "level the playing field" between humans and mutants/yokai. He would probably insist on the name "augments" just to differentiate between them and the mutants. And thus he's directly responsible for the creation of Khan. Now Trek has been kinda wishy-washy lately about the timeline and now places the Eugenics wars & WWIII in the 21st century so I'm gonna go with that too. Which unfortunately for the boys means they'll be around to see the rise of the tyrants and watch society unravel, it's a very different kind of apocalypse than the one they prevented. This one is slow and creeping and driven by malice and greed long before it comes to overwhelming martial force. Logically though I think the boys (and maybe some old mutant enemies turned friends, and a good amount of Yokai) would side against Khan and Bishop in defense of humanity, so there'd be another resistance in this timeline as well. According to memory alpha, in the new timeline the wars last about 34 years, so there is at least some chance that the boys live all the way through the wars and come out on the other side into a world that after nearly tearing itself apart is taking its first tentative and terrified steps into world peace. Which has some interesting implications towards what will eventually become the Federation's ban on genetic engineering because, yes the belligerents in the war you just fought were genetically engineered humans but also they were defeated and the world lead into peace by genetically engineered mutants so.... what now? But that's getting a little ahead of myself. For now we're still 7 years out from Zephram Cochrane's first warp flight and First Contact. Earth has been so wrapped up in its own problems who's even thinking of space anymore? Well...
The boys would all be middle aged men at this point, and what they all do post war is a bit uncertain (mostly because I'm just supremely spitballing here) but I can't imagine Donnie not being apart of the Phoenix project along with Cochrane. And also given his everything I don't think the Borg sphere and the Enterprise in orbit would escape his notice even a little bit.
The Borg are an unpleasant surprise to say the least, especially given their similarity to the Kraang. Now of course during it all you have Picard and the rest of the Enterprise crew trying to keep a second impending invasion on the DL -and as I'm typing this I've realized that I've fucked up this causality loop a little bit but I'm gonna blame that on Trek being Like This and time travel bullshit being confusing- because now in this scenario we have the Kraang invasion as being an almost direct cause of the eugenics wars, and the Enterprise crew would definitely know that and they have just come back from a timeline where Earth is assimilated and they're trying to set things to rights, soooooo... okay okay we have Donatello, an old veteran with old wounds opening up again, Zephram, who's completely lost his way and doesn't even know why he's doing this anymore, and you have Geordi, Riker, and Troi coming from the future to say, "stay the course, it's worth it." And they're both terribly skeptical and on the verge of losing hope but damn, it can't all have been for nothing, right? And when that Vulcan ship comes down, and Zephram and Solkar shake hands and yeah, maybe things will be alright after all.
I kinda doubt that any of the boys would live long enough to actually see the founding of the federation (unless they have multicentury lifespans) but they would definitely go down in federation history as playing a role in the very beginnings of what would eventually become starfleet and the golden age of space exploration.
At least that's my take if Rise and Star Trek were on the same timeline, and I definitely could go way more into detail on it if I really wanted to, like I said I'm kinda flying by the seat of my pants for this one. For now though when it comes to Set a Course for Home I'll keep the two universes separate, if only for my own sanity lol. And above I have Donnie working alongside Cochrane and truthfully, I think my ideal ending for him (way way after the events of Set a Course for Home, in another hypothetical future) would be that he becomes the Zephram Cochrane figure if his own dimension and discovers faster than light travel. Listen Janeway can try as she might for the sake of the Prime Directive but he's gonna be spending a lot of time on that ship it's gonna be a little hard for him not to at least figure out some of the basics of warp field mechanics, he'll just have to figure out how to create it with the materials he'll have in his dimension's 21st century. He's a scientist through and through and I like the idea of him leading the way to the stars.

Yo yo, what's good my guys? It's ya boy Henry Jekyll. I've been straight trippin' lately, tryna keep my two personalities in check. It's like, one minute I'm all chill and laid back, and the next minute I'm all turnt up and ready to party.
I mean, I know I should keep Hyde on the DL, but sometimes I just can't help myself. He's got this wild energy that's just too lit to resist. But then again, he's also got a dark side that's straight up scary. Like, he'll flip the switch and go full savage on anyone who crosses him.
Honestly, it's like I'm living in two different worlds. Sometimes I wonder if I'm the only one dealing with this, or if there are other peeps out there who can relate. It's like, do I need to get my head checked or what?
But yo, enough about my issues. Let's talk about something more upbeat, like my next rave. I've got some sick beats lined up and I'm about to turn up with my squad. It's gonna be lit AF, and I can't wait to see what kind of shenanigans we get into.
Anyway, I gotta dip now. But just remember, peeps, you never know what's lurking beneath the surface. So stay woke and keep it real. Peace out!

in honor of it being the spooky season, here are my favorite witchy gallavich AUs!!!Â
đđ§đŽđ¸đťâ¨đŚđŞâ ď¸đââŹđđđđ¤
a witch in wicker park - Mickey Milkovich was born with a rare gift, a gift that any witch would be happy to call their own. With one well placed brush of his thumb, a plant or flower of his choosing would flourish and bloom to maturity in the blink of an eye. When the death of his mother triggers the loss of his magnificent gift, he buries his power deep inside himself for years until the approaching Spring Equinox inspires him to make some changes in his life -- in more ways than one.
another taste of divine rush - Ian didnât know what was wrong with his magic, but it liked to create random hexes out of anything. So when Mickey Milkovich showed up, Ian truly did know: Ian himself was cursed. He must be.
hysterical light - There was a house that nobody went into.It wasnât haunted. It wasnât condemned. It wasnât barred shut. There were rumors about the house. Whispers about its life before it was a lockbox, about drug debts and jail sentences and families with more magic than they needed, or less, depending on who you asked. There were whispers that the house was cursed, and that the curse would rub off on anyone who got too close. *It has been a long time since anyone has seen Mickey Milkovich, and the neighborhood has all but forgotten him. Mickeyâs name may have left the common consciousness, but there is one thing that everybody seems to know: thereâs a house on Trumbull Ave. that nobody can go into, and something bad will happen to you if you try. When strange things begin happening a few blocks away at the Gallagher house, itâs clear that the events have a magical origin. Ian suspects a curse, and looks for answers at the only other cursed location he knows of. He finds answers. He finds something else, too.
paranormal problems - âGood afternoon, youâre through to the Paranormal Problems department. Iâm Mickey the mage, how can I help you today?âIan thinks that if a voice could sound as attractive as a bowl of butterscotch pudding, this would be the voice. Heâs pulled from his daydream by an ear piercing bat screech. Ian is a warlock who finds himself falling for the mage on the other end of the wand helpline. Cue Liam's transfigurations shenanigans, Ian's attempts at flirting and Lip being as blunt as a spoon!
on samhain eve - For the rest of the world it's called Halloween, but for witches like Ian and Mickey it's Samhain. A sacred time of year to commune with the dead. Ian and Mickey have both been invited to a very special ritual, and no witch's intuition will be able to predict what will transpire.
under the beltane sun - Ian and Mickey's lives became intrinsically intertwined on Samhain. Now, six months later, Beltane is upon them, and life is about to bloom anew.
i put a spell on you - âI wouldn't go for spells if you're lookin' to attract someone.â âWhy not?â âLove spells are messy. Anything that tampers with free will is. They can fuck up too easy, or the effects wear off, and they're hard to get right. Trust me. Not worth it.â
bad for business - Shitty parenting aside, it was the American health care system that had prompted Mickey to hone his skill and turn it into a side hustle. MagiCare only covered extremely high-risk curses, making the reversal of anything non-lethal a luxury rather than a right, so Mickeyâlike the responsible and concerned citizen that he wasâoffered his services on the DL for a more than affordable price. Only thing he asked for in return was discretion. He bit his lip, considering. âNot a cop, are you?â Ian blinked. âWhat? Uh, no. Why?â He scratched at his eyebrow. âJust sayinâ, if you ever get cursed and donât wanna ride it out . . . I might know someone who can take care of it.â
weaver of fate (to your will i wonât fold)Â -Â Mickey was sure he was bound to have one hell of a breakdown about the whole thing once he was in the safety of his roomâhe certainly couldnât afford to have one in front of Gallagherâbut all he could think of right then was that heâd somehow, against all odds, been allowed to have this one thing in life, if only for a moment. He was in the presence of his fucking soulmate. The one heâd hated so passionately as a kid. The one that wouldâve probably gotten him killed at sixteen and seventeen and eighteen. The one heâd once thought he was destined to grieve forever. (Or: Mickey is a seer who gets paid to track down people's soulmates, and he's damn good at his job. He's a little frustrated when this Ian Gallagher guy tries to cancel his appointment on the same day, saying he has no interest in knowing who his soulmate is. They reach an agreement: he'll perform the reading but won't tell him the results, just write them down and send him on his way. And, well, fuck Mickey's life, huh? 'Cause it turns out he's Ian Gallagher's fucking soulmate.)

okay so yeah context for earlier post i have a genetically inferior stomach and had already been suffering for most of the day, then i got home and read the new dl update and ... Yeah...
Anyway, without further ado, an analysis of Chapter 25 Part Two.
Spoiler warning for posterity's sake.
So, lets start with the end, because that is what concerns me, and probably many of you, at this moment in time.
Basically Xenos unexisted the world. They won, Dragalia is lost. But wait, because this isn't the end just yet. There's still two more updates left, aren't there? And thus begins my chapter 26 speculation.
Allow me to preface by saying that i have played a lot of games, and watched a lot of anime, and overall merely consumed a substantial amount of media in my time. I have reached a point where I can accurately predict most plots, but this is not a bad thing.
Dragalia Lost on the other hand is a game that never fails to surprise. How Dragalia Lost has done this, and done it well in my opinion, is by not fully explaining the rules of the world. Think back to the downloads page, it basically just said it was a game about the bonds between human and dragon, didn't it? And while it is overall thus, seen especially in the ending of the chapter, there's more to it. Zena was revealed to us with clues as to her existence, and later explained along with Dragalia's many worlds, for example, which are (or were) a pivotal mechanic of the worldbuilding.
This being the case, that Dragalia does not tell you everything all at once, means any predictions of plot I make are likely to be inaccurate, but I will try anyway.
Let's start with a broader idea, there's only two ways I think this can go. The first, the last chapter being Xenos-centric and merely explaining his own lore and the making of his "perfect world", or the second, Euden and Co. pull off some anime logic shenanigans and manage to save/re-exist the world. Basically a bad end and a good end, in general terms.
Good End:
Now in terms of this good ending and how it could still happen extrapolated from information we have currently, I would like to point out that Euden and Zethia have brought themselves back from inexistence before, in Advent of Origin. How they managed to do this in event however, it relied on living people still remembering them. As long as someone remembered them they couldn't be fully erased from the world.
That being said Xenos fully pulverized the entirety of existence, so the only one left to remember anyone is Xenos themself. This leaves us in a kind of lovecraftian-style existing only in the dreams of a slumbering god situation. Which.... isn't all that unlikely in my opinion, Dragalia Lost has taken heavy inspiration from the Cthulhu Mythos before, in events like Accursed Archives, and also at times in the main questline (the way Xenos and Bahamut are described specifically, as beings that sort of transcend any ability to comprehend them), thus it's not *entirely* impossible.
Or possibly maybe Xenos grows bored of his void and his perfect clockwork world and decides to put back up what he tore down. This only strikes me as a possibility because in this final monologue Xenos seems to become somewhat sentimental, towards Bahamut and the emptiness they once dwelled in. Would let that sentimentality get to him enough to undo what has been done? Who can say, certainly not me.
Bad End
Xenos isn't a character who's shown much emotion in the short time we've been acquainted with them, which is a given seeing as he's apparently discarded his own heart. The only time we see Xenos really express any emotion at all is when he's reminiscing about Bahamut and the void there towards the end. So, probably, they're just going to continue on with they're plans. Wipe the slate clean and build up they're new world. Elysium is dead, the worlds of possibility wiped out entirely. What's to stop them, precisely?
Now the only things I will say going against this is that it would be a massively unsatisfying ending, a conclusive ending maybe, a good one to lead into something else maybe, but deeply unsatisfying to the reader. Additionally, we have no conclusive answers to what happened to beings dwelling in the space between worlds like all those lovely raid bosses we faced over the years, or more precisely to the True Bahamut seen in Advent of Origin.
I have no conclusive knowledge of how it would go down if True Bahamut is still out there, but it's something to think about.
Anyway, I'll probably be talking more about the other things that happened in this chapter later, such as Zena's lovely character arc and a few former theories I had that were confirmed by finally seeing the world she came from, but I'll save that for another day. I don't have a conclusive answer to anything, and I don't expect to, but I can try my best to put the pieces together while we all wait for the end.
Have a lovely day, my fellow Losties.

crossover shenanigans again
i gotta come up with nicknames for everyone because if i ever write this au i canât write the acronyms in front of each character, but, just stick with me. metanarative.
dl marinette + flp marinette trying to figure out how to feed so many people. because flp marinette already deals with a demonâ and he eats like heâs fit to lift houses on his ownâ he can lift houses. anyway. she knows that demons eat a lot, and although she doesn't see how dl marinette's two (boyfriends?? friends??? husbands??? is that allowed??) are demons, since nothing about them look particularly magical, she's not going to argue with... well. with herself over it.
"chat can finish a whole rabbit on his own," witchy marinette murmurs. "you know, after he gets over how bad he feels about killing the animal."
"alright," the other marinette nods, a knowing smile on her face. it's easier to keep track of everyone when everyone has different appearances-- all witchy marinette can do is stare at those giant antlers that the other version of herself has, wrapped in delicate gold cords. "okay, and i'm guessing you don't eat that much? the three of us girls can eat a single rabbit to save us cooking time."
"is that okay? are we alright with rabbit? no... dietary problems?"
"adrien's never tried it," the other marinette muses. "he might complain about it, but i don't think he's in any position to refuse. remind me to tell him that there are bones in the meat, because he'll chew through the whole thing."
"i know what you mean," witchy marinette sighs. "chat has a fondness for saying that bones are good for his stomach--"
"rabbit? but-- but i want to fish!" kitty marinette calls out at the dinner table. she's almost completely done sorting through all the mushrooms that they collected earlier in the morning, writing them down in the notebook she was given to make sure they keep track. there are leaves in her hair still, and she smells like wildfire-- she reminds witchy marinette so much of chat noir, with the way her eyes glint with mischief and that tender little smile on her face that looks like a cat's mouth. "why can't we have fish? fish is so much better than rabbit. they're not as cute. they're not as fluffy. they're... not animals with cute ears and twitchy nose-- fish don't have cute little paws. there's a lake nearby, isn't there? i smelled the freshwater. i'll catch so many fish that we won't need to eat rabbit."
"they're harder to catch," witchy marinette replies. "slippier than an eel, and tall as a house. you told me that fish are tiny in your world, about the size of your hand-- some fish here, in the lake are the size of you."
"tall as a house," kitty murmurs, pouting to herself and grumbling, leaning into the marinette with antler's hands when she starts picking leaves out of her hair. "i don't believe you. i want to see it."
"even my luka struggles to pick them out of the lake," she continues, a dusting of a blush across her face at the term 'my luka'. "i don't want to imagine you getting pulled under. everyone would kill me if i let it happen."
kitty sags, as the marinette behind her laughs.
"alright then, one whole rabbit for us three, and one rabbit for each of the boys?"
"it'll be hard to convince chat to go find five rabbits, but i think he'll do okay. there might be a bit of crying, but in terms of physical, we'll definitely be able to find them in time to make stew."
"i'm faster," kitty supplies. "i checked. i saw. i raced him this morning, and i got back home quicker than him. no one is as fast as me. and he doesn't even have to wear crinoline."
"you also aren't wearing crinoline."
she giggles. "thank the stars for that! could you imagine trying to run in it? i'd lose immediately!"
they'd hardly been able to convince her to wear this many petticoats. the stays had been fine, and she'd found that wearing them was her suit of armor, running around asking people to try punching her in the stomach to see if she'd feel it. but the petticoats, and the amount of weight she'd been carrying on her hips, had been bothersome. they've found shedded linings of a pale and mint green color, neatly folded next to a pair of shoes that witchy marinette has never seen before. kitty's been walking around with just the overdress, making her silhouette flat and shapeless.
"i guess we should go convince a couple of them to go searching for rabbits--" she squeaks when kitty tosses her hand up in an attempt to convince to let her go. "no, kitty--"
"but i want to. i want to go!"
"you're going to drive my boys insane if you keep wishing for things," she snorts. "you got to be careful. they're sensitive."
"can i go?"
"have you hunted before?" witchy marinette asks.
kitty quiets. "no, but--"
"have you ever killed before?" the marinette with antlers asks.
kitty shrinks. "no, never."
witchy marinette wipes her fingers on her apron. there's flour all over her sleeves. "it's not that easy, you know. we have to be respectful about this sort of thing, and making it into a game surely isn't nice to the food we have to take. how about we let chat, or one of the luka's handle it?"
"oh, i know. why not send my luka? maybe that way i can finally cook in peace without him telling me he wanted to cook for us," she muses. "he's such an angel. but so possessive over the kitchen. kitty, can you go with him and make sure to distract him?"
kitty's head snaps up. "really?"
"as long as you promise not to try to convince them to bring fish home."
"no, no, that's perfect!" she launches off her chair, rounding the table with a grin. she collects her shoes, black and flimsy and with a squishy sole that feels spongey between witchy marinette's hands when she'd gave into curiosity and checked what it felt like. "i've been wanting to hang out with luka for a while-- he's so much sweeter than mine. oh, i know, i'll take both of them! and chat! i want to see if i can get chat to teach me how to pounce like he does, and maybe luka can teach me how to be quiet on my feet even though he doesn't have any, and maybe the other luka can teach me how to use a carving knife--"
"no knives!" both of the other marinettes call out to her, but she's already yapping away, calling out her goodbyes while she slips on her shoes, disappearing off into the backyard where chat is in the process of fixing the chicken coup.
"chat! teach me how to hunt!"

I just had an angst filled idea for what happened to Edgeworthâs mom, which has way more potential than her simply being dead. She had to be committed to a mental hospital long term (havenât decided for what yet). This is why she didnât get automatic custody of Miles. It also means that a lot of his last memories of his mother of her declining mental health, which as a child he couldnât really understand.
After a year or so after DL-6 she was mostly stable and able to return to the wider wouldnât. It took longer than it would have otherwise, what with the depressive episode because her husband was murdered and her son taken halfway across the world. But there was no way she could get custody of Edgeworth back. Badd already lost a custody suit against Manfred, and she had her mental illness and commitment as black marks. Because of shenanigans regarding him being in Germany, she couldnât even try to force visitation. And of course, von Karma wouldnât even let her letters go through.
When Edgeworth eventually got more details than âmommy needs to go to the hospital to get betterâ, itâs from von Karma and given with a bucketload of ablest framing and commentary. So that and his last memories of his mother are what colors his perceptions when his mother accosts him outside of court during his Bratworth phase. Itâs a really cruel rejection, full of von Karma rhetoric and an expression Edgeworthâs own deep-seeded fear that heâll one day end up like her. âCompletely unacceptableâ.Â
They do reconnect after Investigations 2. She is devastated by his âdeathâ and followed everything from a distance- even thanking Phoenix in person for solving her husbandâs murder and explaining the situation. But she wouldnât dare approach her son, sheâd respect what he said. But she kept in touch with Ray, and he told her about Milesâ redemption.Â
