How to Identify Best Tree Removal or Trimming Service?
Adding a few trees to the yard can greatly improve the visual attractiveness of your home. If you would like to improve the curb appeal of your home, planting a variety of trees around it is a great way to do it. However, there may be instances when you have no choice but to remove those trees with Land Clearing due to a variety of causes. At some point, the trees in your yard are certain to rot. At some point in time, those trees will inevitably perish. If this happens, you should remove any trees in the area. Now is the moment to make use of your tree service’s expertise.
There are many who believe that they can accomplish the work just fine on their own. They plant their own trees there because it is already theirs. However, this line of thinking is always fallacious. Trying to cut down trees without the assistance of trained professionals is risky business if you lack the necessary expertise. Furthermore, the dangers of the process increase as the tree size to be cut down increases.
Hiring professional Arborists Sydney to remove trees eliminates the risk of injury and other complications. Professional tree service providers can do more than just remove trees; they can also prune, trim, chop down, and remove only specific branches or sections of a tree.
Cleaning services are an additional perk of hiring a Tree Stump Removalor Stump Grinding Sydney company. This is helpful because a lot of debris might accumulate when trees are removed. If you are also in need of firewood, the business you employ can provide that for you.
It is crucial that you confirm in advance that the persons providing the service are really experts in the subject. Doing this will allow you to relax and enjoy yourself while the work is being completed by you. Each member of the company has a valid license, which you can request from them. Checking the company’s origin and the validity of its employees’ licenses are only two examples of the research you should conduct before hiring a Tree Lopping Sydney service.
After researching a company’s history, you should think about how much such services will cost. When hiring tree removal experts, cost will always be a major consideration. The internet has made it simple and quick to evaluate the prices and quality of other businesses’ offerings. Find the most affordable provider, and give them a call.
Considerations for Price Estimation
Before calling a Tree Trimming services provider, you should measure the tree’s diameter first. Depending on the species, trees can attain any height and width. When deciding to have a tree removed, its placement is an important factor. Expect to spend extra when the tree is in a more dangerous location, such as proximity to power lines or a building. This is because the tree-cutting service you choose will need to take extra care to avoid causing harm to nearby structures and people.

"They Who Hold Their Tongue..."
Ohhhhhh what's the fufuf I'm actually doing as promised well that's surprising from me. But this took a while because I really could come up with any ideas, however the lovely [] helped by giving me the curse(s) our sweet reader must suffer but I did unfortunately go with the classic sleeping. let's get to the story.
PS. Someone also gave me a rook to motivate me to finish this. I feel as though I should give them something in return lololo
PPS. THE HALLOWEEN EVENT AHHHH
-creamy
Reader is also a merperson yet what type is up to you (tho Floyd's nickname for you is koi for irony)
TW: grief, reader 'dying',
Tell me if I need to add any more
The simple happiness that swallows Azul when he stays by their side. A person who saw past every partof him; beyond the chubby past and the immoral way he runs his business, helping the insecurities that lurk. The twins also found joy in the company of ____; they can all relate im ways they can't get with most others in the school, bond about missing the beautiful way sun shines in the water or how the coral and other planets seem to be alive as the current speed up or slowed. All the small things they didn't get at school on the land.
The night was louder then usual. More bodies to work around and serve, brighter lights flashing and moving most of the movement scaring the poor unfortunate fish who live in the central aquarium. How could there not be such a fuss on such a day; you see the trio had to plan something extremely large for their fellow fin having student's birthday, and this it was; though as usual there was still a profit to be made so a birthday event: where select drinks (____'s favorites) were on 'sale' and Azul's 'advice' only costs half as many points. This way of profiting was working greatly but that wasn't the main focus of the night the main attraction was on ___ from gives being given and normal conversation. What could possibly distract from the joyfully festivities
As the night continues and the crowd of customers thins out, leaving just ____, a few finishing their meals and three planning their final gift for the [fish type] mer as some employees finalize the cake. Speaking of the cake, it was beautifully crafted all the details falling into the perfect place; the blue icing was mixed to resemble the deep oceans that were once home, chocolate lily pads and tiny plastic fish make the rest of the cake feel complete. Finally closing the doors and flipping a sign the restaurant was closed to the public and the boys relaxed a little more with the employees going back to their dorms it was fine time for the small cake and Gifts.
____dipped the knife into the cake giggling at the words leavings Floyd's mouth and Azul's slightly disappointed. A sudden change seems to have taken upon ____ when the slice of cake reset on the plate; their eyes seem lost and empty while their movements become more robotic and ears are filled with there own beating heart and a quite whipping and song they knew long ago yet never truly heard. Jade was quick to notice the change as his brother and friend were distracted by the cake both its beauty and taste, as he moves closer to the birthday boy/girl a spoon filled with cake touches their lips and with in a second it's all too late.
As the spoon of what should have been a delightful piece of cake entered their mouth the spell that seemed to have taken them broke for just a moment, long enough look at Jade's eyes pure fear covered both faces as their body moved back falling just past his arms hitting the ground. The sound of the fall brought the attention of Azul and Floyd; Floyd's body moved quickly as a fight reaction while Azul froze up at the sight.
"KOI! Koi come on," Floyd started to trail off on his words asking of this was just one of your pranks, as he continues Jade's brain finally catches up and he falls to his knees to help move their sleeping corpse and checking it over for injuries with hast namely checking the head.
Azul stood still shocked warm tears rolling down his cheeks, how could this have happened had one of his employees poisoned the cake? No that couldn't be it both himself and Floyd ate it then how and why. What would draw someone to hurt something so sweet something of a Pearl in his Sea.
Their body lay in peaceful at the bottom of the large central aquarium in a elegant shell bed surrounded with their favorite coral, the [colour] tail hangs gently from the end of the shell.
It wasn't uncommon to find one all all three of the men people sit or lay among them. Jade was the most rare to actually see in there but believe he did visit often usually holding their hands gently and questioning if this was so cruel punishment for what him and Floyd have done. Which brings up Floyd; he would swim around them fast as usual talking about his day and the same conversations they both once had he seemed to have not accepted that their gone, he's the only one talking. Lastly the truly unfortunate soul Azul this poor octopus nearly never left their side constantly weeping and crying; he usually spent his nights wrapped around them hoping he'd wake up with them smiling down at his tear covered face.
If only they knew what his gentle kiss could do.

Write What You Want [1/3?]
Requested by Anon
Prompt: a reporter/writer interviewing Billy about his company? And maybe after that they run into each other and start seeing each other?
*gif isn’t mine*
You had arrived about fifteen minutes before you were scheduled to meet Mr. Russo, just enough time to go over your notes and the prepared questions that you’d been up until 3 am finishing. This wasn’t exactly your area of expertise, but Karen had been taken off of the assignment because of conflicting interests since Frank worked at Anvil so your boss had given you the assignment.
You sat in the chair in the waiting area, under the scrutiny of the receptionist and surveilled the area. You knew that Anvil had been embroiled in scandal after an overseas operation went south, but as quickly as the story had developed, it had disappeared after a manufactured apology and had been buried under other scandals. It had weighed on your mind and your editor’s mind for a while, though, as you reached out to former Anvil employees to try and figure out how this had happened.
“Hello, Y/N?” a man asked as he made his way to the lobby. You recognized him as Billy Russo from the pictures you’d Googled of him. He was impeccably dressed having traded in military fatigues for business suits three years ago after he had left the military.
“Hello, Mr. Russo, thank you for meeting with me,” you said.
“Please call me Billy,” he said as he led you to his office. For a CEO, his office was modest and tucked into a corner, and there was a small table inside where you both took a seat.
“Would you like any coffee or water?” he asked.
“I’m fine, thank you,” you replied as you placed your cell phone on the table so he was aware that you were recording everything and started the interview.
“So what led to your transition from military life to starting your own business?” you asked.
“I saw a need for highly skilled government contractors who had a military background but they had transitioned out of the military lifestyle, some because of injuries, others because they had families or just got sick of the deployments.”
“Isn’t Anvil its own sort of military?” you asked.
Billy’s jaw clenched, “No, Anvil provides security services they range from training simulations to hand-to-hand combat lessons and some self-defense skills, yes some of these are overseas but we are hardly some kind of private army.”
“What do you attribute your growth to over the past three years?” you asked.
“We were very fortunate to get two defense contracts and most recently one with the Department of Homeland Security, but we really fostered our local contacts to provide services to the local area as well.”
“How do you go about recruiting your workers?” you asked.
“Some are from my former platoon, like Frank, others are friends of friends who have been recommended for their skill sets, but we’re a trial by fire type of company.”
“Has that backfired on you?” you asked.
“I’m not going to answer that,” Billy said tersely, “Perhaps you’d like to know more about my childhood or my time in the military.”
“I don’t think you understand the point of this interview, Mr. Russo,” you said, your patience starting to wear thin, “This isn’t a puff piece about a rags-to-riches tale, although your personal life is compelling. I’m writing a story about your company and military contractors,” you said.
“Well hopefully you’ll write good things,” Billy said with a smile that you were sure some found charming, but you just found it manipulative.
“I’ll write the truth,” you replied. Afterwards the interview soured, and Billy’s answers shortened. Your curtness had put Billy on guard and he was clearly trying to expedite the rest of the interview. You were given a tour of the facility, but you knew that you were just being shown the veneer of what Billy felt comfortable showing you.
The rest of your week, you spent contacting people from Billy’s platoon and former Anvil workers. You’d gotten a few good quotes about Billy’s personality which had confirmed what you’d witnessed at Anvil. He was friendly but not someone you wanted to be on the bad side. He was a hell of a soldier. He was impatient and demanding and he would do anything for a fellow soldier. And he didn’t have a family. That stood out to you. Overall, the consensus was clear: Billy Russo was good at his job. So how did he hire people that were so bad at it?
You headed to a barbeque that Karen and Frank were hosting at their place that weekend. You’d brought a banana bread for dessert and hugged Karen warmly in greeting. “I heard you were at Anvil this past week, Frank missed seeing you.”
“I was just really there to meet with Billy Russo,” you said.
“He’s something isn’t he?” Karen said.
“He’s just another businessman, I deal with a lot of them,” you said. Karen grinned knowingly and looked over your shoulder. Someone behind you snorted and you turned to see Billy standing there. You knew that Billy and Frank worked together, but you didn’t think that they were friends.
“You don’t like me very much, do you?” Billy asked. Karen gently brushed your arm and left you alone with Billy.
“I don’t really know you,” you said, feeling able to relax in the more informal setting. You were friends with Karen, and you had met Frank a couple of times.
“Okay, then let me make a better second impression,” Billy said.
You rolled your eyes, “I try not to get close to the subjects that I’m writing about.”
“You said you were writing about Anvil, not me,” Billy reminded you.
“I am, but for all intents and purposes you are Anvil. Anvil is your company, you are the face of Anvil, you make the decisions for Anvil, and hence you are the subject of the article,” you said.
“I just think that it would be mutually beneficial if we got along. You’re friends with Karen, Frank is like family to me, we might as well get to know each other more,” Billy said, “So what drew you to your job?” Billy asked.
“Usually I’m the one asking questions,” you said.
“Isn’t it better to be answering them?” he asked.
“It’s uncomfortable,” you admitted.
“And there you go, that’s why I didn’t make a great first impression,” Billy said.
“I think you rarely make bad first impressions,” you said.
“Is that a compliment?” Billy smirked.
“No,” you said with a smile, “But I’ve seen other interviews that you’ve done, taped interviews and you had those journalists wrapped around your finger.”
“You did your homework,” Billy said.
“I wouldn’t be good at my job if I hadn’t,” you said.
“I think we’ll be good friends,” Billy said, “It’s inevitable.”
“You don’t even like me,” you said, recalling how cold he became at the end of the interview.
“I like you,” Billy said, “But I’m protective of my company and my job. Surely you can understand that.”
“Look, this doesn’t change what I’ll write in the article,” you said.
“You’ll write the truth, so I have nothing to fear,” Billy said.
If only it was that easy.

Special Delivery – A Books of Binding Short Story
Cian woke in the dark to an urgent rapping on his bedroom door. Winter’s low voice carried through the wood. “Cian, we’re on.”
Cian sat up in bed, trying to parse that. On? On what? English wasn’t his first language and sometimes idioms — he hoped it was an idiom — tripped him up. He pulled his jeans on and made his groggy way across the spacious room to find Winter on the other side of his door, dressed in her usual loose dress and cardigan, her purple bag over her shoulder and her surgical bag heavy in her hand. She hadn’t taken the time to put her hip-length white hair up in a bun, and it rode one shoulder in a careless braid.
She was lovely.
He pushed his own long, sleep-tousled hair out of his face. “What are we on?”
A small, exhausted smile played about her lips, and he wanted to kiss her until the shadows under her ice-blue eyes faded away. “’On’ means it’s showtime,” she explained, not terribly effectively. What was a ‘showtime?’ “We have a delivery to attend. Corinne’s started bleeding heavily, and Doc says she can’t stop it.”
Cian’s brows shot to his hairline. The Lion Queen? Oh shit. “Is it the placenta previa? She’s five weeks early.” Which wasn’t too terribly early for a human or a vampire, but with a therian’s five-and-a-half-month gestation it could make things complicated.
Winter nodded. “Which means that either she got pregnant during an earlier heat than we thought, or the placenta’s started pulling away from her uterus, which I think is the more likely. Either way, I suspect we need to deliver the baby tonight. If she’s having contractions it will tear the placenta apart, leading to hemorrhaging. Now, you get dressed, and I’ll wake up Etienne so he can drive you out to Xanadu on the motorcycle. I need you at the top of your game, and making you ride with me in the Bug with its old steel chassis won’t help with that.” She sighed. “I really do need a new car.”
Cian shuddered at the thought of riding in the Bug. He’d ridden in more than one older model vehicle and gotten sick in the process. He was sidhe, though, and not a lesser fae, so sick was the extent of it. A lesser fae might come away with more serious injury or even death. The little pixies in the gardens here on the Point avoided Winter’s vintage car at all costs. “Yeah, a new one would be good. Maybe we can go shopping for one this weekend?”
Winter gave him a tired smile, but tired as she was it still reached her eyes. Cian couldn’t have said that only a few weeks ago. “Yes, maybe.” She checked the time on her phone. “We need to head out as soon as possible. Doc is perfectly capable of performing a c-section if she needs to, but I’d rather be there in case things get complicated. I’ll meet you in the foyer in five minutes.”
Cian shut the door as Winter moved toward Etienne’s room and turned to get ready. It was just the three of them rattling around in this huge house, where once there had been dozens of wizards, all part of the extensive Mulcahy family. He could tell that Winter liked having the company, and he liked it, too. So did Etienne.
Long hair pulled back in a neat ponytail, worn boots and a new sweatshirt against the mid-November chill, his silk-lined riding chaps to protect him from the Harley’s frame, and he was ready to ride as soon as he got his helmet and riding jacket together. Worry for Corinne dueled with excitement. This would be his first time attending a birth. He’d assisted Winter with several surgeries already, but Corinne was the community member closest to delivering and currently the highest-risk pregnancy. She was also one of Winter’s closest friends, and Winter said she felt better knowing he would be backing her up with his healing gift. Cian was happy to help.
Etienne was still putting his auburn hair up into a ponytail in the high style he preferred as he hit the stairs and nodded to Cian. “Get your things. It’s going to be a cold ride, even for you.” His red plaid overshirt was slung about his neck and the new black gun rig for his old Glock jostled lightly against his chest with each stairstep he took.
Cian stood at the bottom of the double staircase beside Winter and watched the faerie knight descend, his bootheels thudding softly on each wide tread. He waved a hand indicating the Glock under Etienne’s left arm. “Expecting trouble?”
Etienne smirked and pulled on the overshirt as he touched down from the last step. “Always. This is Seahaven, after all.”
Winter shook her head and offered a rueful smile but didn’t disagree. “I’ve got the car loaded and ready to go. Be careful out there. The roads might be a bit slick after that rain.”
Etienne’s smile stretched into a rake-hell grin and Cian felt his belly flop. By Dagda, Etienne had a sexy smile. “A little rain isn’t going to stop us. Now, let’s go help Corinne.”
Cian handed Etienne his helmet and his old worn leather coat before getting into his own, new, silk lined coat. Winter’d had it made for him when she’d noticed he was showing about an inch of wrist below the cuff of his old one.
Winter hitched her bag up higher on her shoulder, determination showing in her eyes. “Okay, let’s do this.”
The rain had subsided to a sprinkle, which did nothing for making the ride out to Xanadu any safer. Etienne sat a little higher in his seat, vigilant, and managed to avoid most of the puddles.
Most.
Cian tried to ignore his cold, wet boots as the three of them pulled into the covered Xanadu employee parking lot, Winter leading the way in her yellow Bug. They were met at the back entrance to the primary hotel that crowned the largest island in the resort complex. Corinne owned all of the islands in Eriksson Bay, and employed both the dolphins and the selkies as well as her entire large pride of lions. Scores of humans worked in the park, too, but they were offered only limited access. No need for some curious teenager to die just because they got a peek behind the Veil of Secrecy.
Santiago, Corinne’s husband, mate, and Chief of Security, waved as they approached the private elevator. Worry etched deep lines into his brow, cutting into his light brown skin. Cian noticed that he’d shaved his head, but it was already showing fine stubble with the force of his therian regeneration. “Winter, thank god you’re here.” His English was flavored with rich Cuban Spanish, as were most of the lions he had brought with him from Miami to merge with Corinne’s lioness-heavy pride.
Winter offered up a confident smile and gave the Lion King a quick hug. “It’ll be all right. I can get little Bella out in under a minute if I need to.”
Cian knew that Winter’d had to perform emergency c-sections in the past and knew what she was doing. Therian couldn’t get sick or infected, but they could develop conditions that put a pregnancy at risk, like Corinne’s placenta previa. Most therian lived on the edge of society, victims of poverty, abuse, and malnutrition. Pregnancy loss and high infant mortality were common.
But that wasn’t a concern with Corinne tonight. The Lion Queen led one of the biggest groups in Seahaven and was one of the most powerful and wealthiest therian on the West Coast.
Santiago ushered the three of them into the elevator and swiped his resort ID through the reader, granting them access to the private floors and the penthouse where the pride lived. “Doc says Corinne and the baby are both holding steady, even with the blood loss. She’s got both of them on monitors.”
Winter looked to Cian. “With heavy bleeding, what is keeping Corinne and Bella stable?”
Cian thought about that for a moment. “It’s Corinne. She’s strong enough that her healing ability is regenerating blood before she can lose too much, so Bella isn’t being stressed.” He paused. “Yet. There’s a limit to how long her body can heal itself and maintain the baby at the same time. She’s burning through an incredible amount of calories, and once she’s depleted, she’ll be vulnerable.”
Winter smiled her approval. “Excellent. You’re picking this up quickly.”
Etienne looked pleased but said nothing.
Santiago listened intently, tension singing across the backs of his hands, stress making his dark-eyed gaze intense. “But you can save her — save them — can’t you, Winter?”
Winter exuded confidence even as Cian could feel her exhaustion through the veil of his healing gift. “I’m here to fight. We’ll get Corinne through this.”
They exited the elevator one floor below the penthouse where Corinne and Santiago lived and travelled at a brisk pace past closed doors and the soft sounds of sleeping lions until Santiago pushed open a set of frosted glass doors at the end of the hall.
Doctor Gloria Park’s domain.
Glass, chrome, and bright lights, the small clinic and surgery suite gleamed like a shrine to modern medicine. Winter’s backroom clinic was smaller and homier — and a lot busier — but Cian could tell by the way she glanced around that Winter admired it and all of the shiny toys Doc had to play with.
Cian had to admit that he did, too.
“Doc, they’re here.” Santiago raised his voice just enough to be heard on the other side of the two frosted glass doors that bracketed the main room of the clinic.
Doc emerged from the door on the right, butting it open with a hip, her gloved hands marked by blood and ruddy betadine. A bloody streak smeared wet across her white coat at the waist, but she ignored it. She flashed a quick smile of greeting at the new arrivals, her slightly hooded eyes crinkling at the corners and tugging at her small epicanthal folds, her short, no-nonsense, black hair tucked beneath a surgery bonnet. “Excellent timing. I’m prepping Corinne now. How do you want to do this?”
Winter took her surgery bag from Etienne and began moving toward the surgery suite. “I think we should first administer my painkiller potion, and then once it kicks in, we can take a closer look.” She gestured to the blood on Doc’s coat and hands. “Is that all hers?” In any place other than Seahaven that might have been an odd question, but Cian was quickly learning that chaos seemed to reign above all, here.
Doc made a short shrugging gesture. “This time, yes. Contractions started about an hour ago.”
Winter nodded, all business. “Then we’ve got no time to waste. Santiago, do you want to come in and keep Corinne company?”
Santiago smiled, visibly relieved. “Si. I wouldn’t miss this for the world.”
Etienne crossed his arms and leaned a hip against a table. “I’ll wait out here. Haven’t attended a birth in a while, but I bet it’s going to be crowded enough in there as it is.”
Winter flashed the faerie knight a warm smile of gratitude and pushed through the door, Cian close behind her, Doc and Santiago bringing up the rear.
The surgery suite was small, but airy and brightly lit. Corinne sat reclined in the center of the room, gravid belly painted a lurid yellow-red with betadine, long red hair tucked into a surgery bonnet to keep it out of the way, full lips looking pale. Even still, she was glamorous. She opened her eyes as they entered the room, and she smiled a tired smile. “Hey there.”
Winter returned the smile with one of her own as she pulled out a surgery bonnet for herself and passed another to Cian. “Ready to have a baby tonight?”
Corinne chuckled softly and reached out for Santiago’s hand as he reached her side. “You have no idea. But someday you will.”
Winter’s smile turned a bit wistful. “Maybe.” Cian wanted to hold her, just for a moment. He knew she expected to die young, like the rest of the Mulcahy line. She was the last.
Cian found a chair and brought it to Santiago so he could sit at Corinne’s head.
Santiago took the seat and stroked Corinne’s forehead. “Mi corazón.”
Winter tucked her long braid into the surgery bonnet and Cian followed suit. “This is going to go very fast. Your contractions tore the placenta and that’s what’s causing the bleeding. It’s still a total occlusion, still entirely blocking the cervix, as we saw on the ultrasound during your checkup last week.”
Corinne gave a single nod, exhaustion and worry etched into the corners of her eyes. “Did I do something wrong? She’s so early.”
Winter shook her head no and dug into her surgical bag. “Sometimes babies just come early. Nobody’s at fault.” She looked at the monitors showing both Corinne and the baby’s vitals and Cian followed her gaze. Both were holding steady so far. “But Bella’s at a good weight. She should be fine. And your strength is keeping her that way. But I still want to get her out with all speed. We need your bleeding to stop.” As she spoke, she pulled a tumbler from the bag, filled it with cool water, and added three drops of light blue potion, drops that never quite mixed in, instead swirling about like whisps of metallic smoke. “Here, drink all of this down as fast as you can.”
Corinne took the tumbler and knocked it back, then locked her jaw as her entire body shuddered. “Good lord, what was that?”
Winter retrieved the tumbler before it ended up on the floor. “Painkiller potion. It will last for a few hours. It also gives us the ability to go in after little Bella without you feeling any pain and without giving you enough human anesthetic to knock out the Fifth Fleet.” Cian knew from Winter’s explanations that therian could burn through human drugs at an alarming rate. Only magical solutions could withstand their incredible metabolisms.
Corinne shuddered one more time, and then leaned back with a sigh and closed her eyes. “Oh. Oh, that’s much better. Thank you.”
Winter gave her friend’s hand a squeeze. “Good. Now let’s meet your daughter and get that bleeding stopped.” She shrugged out of her sweater and pulled a couple of scrub tops out of the surgery bag, handing one over to Cian. “This is going to be pretty straight forward,” she began to explain, mostly to Cian. Doc already knew what she was doing. “Cian, I want you as tech on this so you can get as much experience as possible. You’ll suction the amniotic fluid out of our way, and I’d like you to use your touch healing to tack Corinne back together once we deliver the placenta, so she heals correctly. Corinne is strong enough that she’ll probably heal faster than I can suture her. Doc, if you can keep the incisions open long enough for me to go in and get the baby and the placenta, we can get her delivered in the next few minutes.”
Doc gave a thoughtful look at her queen’s belly and then to the monitors. “I think that’s reasonable. The bassinet’s already warming, so you can just plop the baby in there while you deliver the placenta and we get the bleeding stopped, and then as soon as the umbilical cord stops pulsing, we can cut it.” She cast a grin at Santiago, who was massaging Corinne’s temples. “Feel like cutting the cord?”
A smile spread across Santiago’s handsome face. “Si. I thought that was just a TV thing.”
Doc let out a soft chuckle. “No, it can be a dad thing, too. Bella’s welcome to the world.”
Winter handed Cian a clean absorbent pad, and he replaced the blood-soaked one beneath Corinne, tossing it into the operating room trash with the rest of them. He could only thank Dagda that she was a therian, and a queen. A human would be in dire straits by now.
Doc lifted an electrocautery scalpel from its tray, the steel glinting under the bright lights, a long wire stretching to the base of the machine beside her. “Ready when you are.”
Winter explored Corinne’s belly, feeling out the position of the baby within. “She’s breech, which is normal with placenta previa. First incision down here, across the lower abdomen, and then we very carefully cut into the uterus.”
Doc snorted. “Don’t teach me to suck eggs, kid.”
An amused smile tugged at Winter’s mouth. “Yes, ma’am. Cian, get ready with the suction, please.”
Cian flipped the machine on and held the wand at the ready, tucking himself against Corinne’s side opposite of Santiago so he could both reach and stay out of the way. He’d done this in surgery with Winter before. There had just never been a baby involved. It didn’t make him nervous, though. Winter had faith in him.
Winter shifted just a little to the side to give Doc more room. “All right, let’s do this.”
Doc spread her fingers across Corinne’s lower abdomen, her hands rock-steady, and made the first deft incision, a tiny whiff of smoke rising as she made the long cut, stopping bleeding before it could start, exposing the flesh of Corinne’s uterus. “Get the retractors ready,” Doc murmured to no one in particular.
Winter reached around her and picked up the two steel retractors, looking for all the world like salad tongs to Cian’s mind. He’d used them before, but the first impression was always the lasting one.
Doc carefully centered her scalpel and indicated a small band of muscle just to the side of her hand. “Pay attention to this, Cian.” Her voice was low with concentration. “Corinne is a lioness, and her uterus works a little differently than a human’s. Instead of basically just being nestled in place by the other abdominal structures, it’s held in place at two points, acting as shock absorbers. She’s built to hunt and fight while pregnant.” Doc shifted the position of her scalpel. “We don’t want to cut those, so we’re making a bit of a smaller incision instead.”
Cian nodded, absorbing the lesson. “Will the baby still fit through?”
Doc nodded. “It’ll just be a tighter squeeze, but she’ll be fine.” Doc deftly nicked the edges of the first incision, pushing against Corinne’s healing ability. “Cutting now.” She pierced the uterine wall without hesitation, drawing another long, bloodless, horizontal line across Corinne’s abdomen.
Immediately a tiny foot appeared, pressed against the intact, translucent amniotic sac. Winter smiled as she applied the retractors. “Very nice.”
Doc grinned. “It’s what we do. Ready to catch?”
Winter nodded. “Trade you.”
Doc and Winter traded tools in a dance born out of years of practice. Doc had been Winter’s primary teacher as she learned trauma surgery, after the death of her Aunt Curiosity.
Winter cut into the amniotic sac with a delicate touch, careful of the moving baby beneath. Cian shifted behind her, suctioning fluid as best he could, until Winter slipped her hands inside and began to ease the baby out.
Corinne’s eyes widened. “Oh, that feels weird. How does she look?”
Winter slipped a hand further into Corinne’s uterus, sloshing fluid over her wrists and onto the pad. “Well, all I see right now is her little butt, but her head is coming free… right… now.”
Corinne raised her head, eager for a peek. “Can I see her?”
Winter mopped the tiny baby’s face off with a pad that Cian handed her, suctioned her little nose and mouth, and held her where Corinne and Santiago could see just in time for Bella to raise her first vigorous objections to being pulled from her warm retreat. Winter beamed. “Look what you two did.”
Santiago’s eyes reddened with joy and he kissed Corinne’s cheek. “She has your hair, mi corazón.”
Corinne grinned, unable to take her eyes off the baby. “She’s beautiful. Just beautiful.”
“And messy.” Winter handed Bella off to Cian, who wrapped her in an absorbent pad and carried her to the cozy bassinet. She was so tiny, and so fierce. “Let me finish this with Doc and Cian’s help and then she’s all yours.”

Abusive boss "acidentally" picks on his own boss and pays the ultimate price.
As I sit in a bar, enjoying my coffee, a story pops into my mind from 10 years ago of how I put a jerk down to the ground for venting his frustrations over to his subbordinates.
Let us begin with the back story, which is quite long, but necessary for you to get a feeling of what was going on at the time. It was just months before the financial crisis and I was working for the tech department in a very large company. It was quite a large department in which we handled electronics.
That department stood out from most of the company, as it was receiving a bit of a different treatment. The company thought if they create an extremely pleasant working environment there, they could get away with paying those stationed there with considerably lesser wages than they could be eligible for.
And it was also a "meritocracy". Your rank and station was based on what you were capable of, not how long were you in the company. I say that because just after two years, I was running the whole department! The reason for that was that because aside from being a computer technician, i also had skills in electrotechnics, electronics, programming and online advertising, which the company realized and put me in charge of the whole bunch. However before you question the validity of this story, you should know that while I had the rank, I made only marginally more money than the rest of the department, the only plus was the rank, and that I had half the working hours of the rest of the department. My only job was to make sure that everybody was at their best while doing their job and paperwork, along with comms and coordinating with the rest of the company.
I felt it was important that you knew the entire story because now I want to introduce you to Dick (fake name). Dick was a hard worker, but a sick, evil, miserable bastard who was at the company for over 6 years but couldn't get any higher up the ladder other than shift supervisor for the machinery boys because all he knew how to do. He was 2 ranks below me. Dick was an utter Dick. He constantly picked on his subbordinates, berating them, yelling at them, picking on the "coffee boy" (it was the rookie, bringing coffee was an initation ritual), essentially Dick being in charge of you was a very unpleasant experience.
At the time I didn't know this was going on, Dick was not in the group I ascended over and I dealt with that group over his superior. I didn't know was going on because I had my hands full with running the whole thing from an office halfway across the company building (big building).
Before we continue, you should know that my country has a law against workplace abuse called "bossing", in which, if there has been emotional harm inflicted, the person who performed bossing could even face jail time, and the company in question could pay massive fines.
To continue, suddenly I reveived an email from my superior, telling me there was an incident regarding Dick and that I have been scheduled for disciplinary action. Apparently there was a coffee girl in his group which he utterly destroyed to the point where she had a nervous breakdown, and as a department administrator I received huge flak for "not sustaining a pleasant working environment", which was department policy so that people wouldn't complain so much about the subpar pay they are getting.
Dick got me in so much trouble that I had to spend a week of constant damage control with my own superior. In the end, I was ordered to take appropriate action against Dick to prove that I was still "the man for the job".
Dick got me in a lot of trouble. Dick was going to pay. There was just one problem- there was no evidence against Dick. So I was going to have to be sneaky. I send a message to Dicks superior, notifying him that that they will be getting a replacement coffee boy from another group tomorrow... ME! I was going undercover to stick it to dick.
There is a saying: you see a guy in a suit and tie and you think he's successful, until you realize he's working for a man in jeans and and polo shirt. This hold true as dick is a suit and tie guy while I wear jeans and a polo shirt to work.
Its the day of revenge. I take no special preparations other than a hidden recording device, and I even wear the aforementioned outfit. I arrive at work and ask two security guards to go with me to wait just outside Dick's work area. I purposely wait until I am 5 minutes late, then enter the work area with Dick's people, greet everyone and go straight for the coffee pot. Dick notices my tardiness and starts ranting:
DICK: Coffee boy! What the hell do you think you're doing? Come late on your first day? Get your ass moving and serve everybody!
ME: Yes sir!
I serve coffee to everybody, but one of the techs recognizes me. I pour some coffee in his pot and tell him to say nothing because I am recording Dick. At that time Dick was across the room, insulting another employee for misplacing his tools.
After I finish serving coffee I go to "my" workplace and start working. I intentionally fumble at my work, as a rookie would, in order to get Dicks attention. It works and Dick notices me and races right towards me.
DICK: What the hell do you think you're doing boy? What is this mess you made? You are completely useless! I cannot use you for anything! I should send you to mop the floors and you will even screw that up!
I turn towards Dick, put my hands at my hips and lean fowards, going in dicks face. Dick presses his second and third finger against his thumb and starts to wave it my face:
DICK: Don't you get uppity on me boy, I am your boss, I know the administrator and I can get your ass on the street in 5 minutes! Do you want to go home? ANSWER ME!
ME: I am the administrator. SECURITY!
Both guards arrive, going to into full badass mode, grabbing hold of their mace pockets with one hand and fists clenched in the other. I swear, Dick immediately dropped a couple of spoon fulls into his pants.
GUARD: Yes, mr. OP?
ME: Escort mr. Dick to my office immediately for (I lean right into his face) SEVERE disciplinary action.
GUARD: mr. Dick, come with us.
Later in my office, Dick was sat down, and listened to the audio recording of the incident, as well as I made him read out loud an extract of the labor law concerning "bossing", then I go full cold turkey on his ass:
ME: mr. Dick, you have been caught severely abusing your employees, which is not only against department policy, but is also a criminal offense, punishable by jail time in certain circumstamces. Do you have anything to say in your defense?
Sweating, shaking, stuttering: DICK: I would, I, but I, I am...
ME: It's what I thought. Let me tell you what is going to happen. I have ebought evidence to pin the breakdown of coffee girl on you, which means that I have the power to send you to jail. (Not sure if true, I was bluffing). So your disciplinary action is going to be as follows. Firstly, you are to be demoted for at least a period of two months. Your previous group was lacking a coffee boy, I think you would be perfect for the job. Secondly. You are going to love it. Thirdly, your are going to send flowers and a letter of apology to the girl you broke down. But if you: #1, try to quit within the time allotted for your punishment, and #2, so much as look as your former subbordinates in a way they wouldn't like it and #3, not do your work with utmost distinction, I will send this evidence to the authoroties and use every scrap of power I have in this company to send you to a jail so bad that when you come out of it, you will be wearing diapers for the rest of your life, HAVE I MADE MYSELF CLEAR?
Utterly pale and defeated Dick: yes, mr OP.
To add insult to injury, I inform his group of Dick's demotion. I told them that he has absolutely no authority over them anymore, and that he is going to serve them coffee until a time I see fit to rejoin them, but only as a serviceman equal in rank to the group. Dick was also forced to clean out his office in front of the group, as the coffee boy wasn't even entitled to his own cubicle, let alone a desk.
Is this nuclear revenge? I disagree. I feel that he got exactly what he deserved. He is now going to have to lick the boots those he treated so badly before. I am but no means an angel, after all, I did fail to notice the abuse that was going on umderneath me, but to fair, nobody was brave enough to stand up to Dick in fear of losing their jobs due to the crisis looming overhead.

hey can I request a victor scenario where Mc is like really scared and just launches herself into his arms? (you’re writing is awesome btw)
Hi, so you requested this, and another anon requested just ‘victor x MC anything’, so I thought this might be a fun concept to write, if you wanted a more serious piece, let me know, but thank you for my first Victor request, I hope I did this justice. I had a lot of fun writing this, especially the dialogue between the two.
Title: Irrational Behaviours
Pairing: VictorxMC
Warnings: Fluff, future fic (they’re married), very much establishedrelationship, affectionate teasing,
Victor would always tell everyone that after a year of beingmarried to his dear wife, there was nothing she could throw at him that hewouldn’t be able to handle. She was predictable and he could read her like abook. However, after what just happened, he may have to reevaluate that sentiment.
It began as a typical day, he woke up at 6, kissed the topof his wife’s head, and took a shower and got dressed. By 6:30 he met his tiredwife in the kitchen, she handed him a cup of coffee tiredly, yawning loudlyafter. He drank his coffee sitting down at the island in their kitchen watchinghis wife make breakfast, humming along to the song recently stuck in her head.A song he only recognised because if she wasn’t singing it herself, it was blastingaround their house. Switching off the stove, she turned and startedreaching for the plates, he lifted his coffee to his lips to hide his smirk as hewatched her struggle to reach the plates, even after so long, she still refusedto let him help her reach them, stating that “it was humiliating”, and “Ibet you do this on purpose as you just like to see me struggle”. Well hecouldn’t argue with the second statement at least. Seeing her huff, he stifleda laugh, upon hearing the noise she threw a glance his way, but he quicklyducked to avoid suspicion, making her believe he was engrossed with somethingon his phone. As he watched her turn back around, he quickly got up, after all,he knew what was coming next. With skill he still didn’t know how she acquired, she climbed onto the counter top, balancing on her knees and reached for theplates. However, upon closing the cupboard door she lost her balance, where hepromptly caught her.
“You know you could just-“
“Victor I swear you finish that sentence, and your followinginjuries are your own fault.” She glared at him “Besides I had it totally undercontrol.”
“Yeah I’m sure falling from the counter top was exactlywhat you were planning.” He laughed placing his pouting wife back on her feet. “Whattime do you have to leave?”
“Got a meeting at 10, shoot at 2, and I’ll be home afterdoing some post-production at 6.” She said plating up the breakfast and placingthe plates opposite each other on the island. “What about you?” She said bitinginto a piece of toast.
“Meetings all day.” He replied, “As the CEO of a company, Itend to be slightly busier than simple producers.”
“Victor I’m still holding a knife.”
He laughed aloud all the way to his office.
By 7:15 he stopped by the front door of the house andchecked his watch bemusedly as he watched his wife run around the entrywaygathering her things.
“You know you’re going to make us late right.” He teased.
“You seen my-“
“Phone? You gave to me before you started to run around likea headless chicken.”
“Would you let that go already!”
“Not in this lifetime.”
After dropping his huffing wife off at her company building, pressing a quick but firm kiss to her lips and telling her “love you, see athome.” He sent her off with a smile and a wave before sighing telling thedriver to head to the company, opening his laptop, and beginning an email toGoldman about his schedule for the day.
His day was typical: meetings, reading files, signing off onshows and projects, telling Goldman not to bother him for trivial matters. Thatby the end of the day, he was tired, drained and just wanted to hug his wife.He never really saw work as anything exciting, more like he was a single personwho had the responsibility of his employees on his shoulders, and he wasresponsible for them. Walking through the front door, he placed his bag on thefloor and held his arms open expecting for his wife to excitedly bound into hisarms chattering about her day, but what he received was dead silence.
Walking further into their home he called her name, growingmore and more panicked as only silence greeted him, then after walking up the stairs he noticed theirbedroom door was ajar. Victor walked into the room opening the door and callinghis wife’s name loudly.
“Victor, is that you?” a small voice came out.
“Where are you?” he asked.
“I’m in the closet.”
“I’m sorry… did you just say you’re IN the closet?”
“Yes Victor, and I’m not coming out.”
“Do I get to ask why.” He said leaning up against thedoor frame of the closet.
There was a pause, “You’ll laugh…”
“Tell me,”
“Victor…”
“Tell. Me.”
“There’s a wasp.”
“A wasp?”
“A wasp.”
“So, you’re telling me that the reason you’re hiding in thecloset like a child, is because there’s a wasp.”
“Yes Victor, and I’m not coming out ‘til you’ve got rid ofit.”
“Your being ridic-“
“Not. Coming. Out. Victor, I mean it, I will live in thiscloset.”
“You can’t do-“
“Watch Me.”
“Ugh, fine humour me, what’s wrong? Are you allergic?”
“I don’t know.”
“You don’t know, dummy, it’s not going to eat you.”
“We don’t know that!”
Victor sighed, and pinched the bridge of his nose, mumblingunder his breath ‘You love this woman. You married this woman, because youlove her’
“Victor, I can hear you thinking. Get rid of the wasp.”
“Fine, where did you last see it?”
“I don’t know…”
“Do you use your head, or is it just for show?
“I got a glimpse of it and then screamed and hid, I think it’sin the bed- AHHH!”
“WHAT’S WRONG!”
“IT’S IN HERE WITH ME!”
For a moment Victor stood in front into of the closet door, and in the next he had his arms full of the very terrified love of his life. His wife had wrapped her legs around his waist and seemed to be attempting tochoke him with the death grip she had around his neck. Looking exasperatedly upat the sky, he wrapped his arms around her form and adjusted her to be morecomfortable. Looking down at his wife, who was trembling in fear, and tried to stifle his laughter.
“Victor, you said you wouldn’t laugh.” She pouted.
“So, where’s this terrifying human-eating wasp?”
“Victor, it’s there!” she screamed pointing at the wasp thathad just flown out of the closet and was now trying to ram its way through thewindow.
Victor calmly strolled over to the window, and opened itletting the poor insect fly free, after shutting the window and locking it. All with his wife still wrapped around him, ignoring her protests of ‘Victor put me down!’ and, ‘I don’t want to be anywhere near IT’. Hestrolled over to the bed and sat down with his wife in his lap. Stroking herhair behind her ear, he smiled down at her affectionately.
“So, do I get a thank you?”
“Oh, yes thank you, Victor my dearest husband, my knight inshining armour.” She swooned teasingly at him.
“Too much, but you’re welcome.”
“Couldn’t you have put me down before handling the wasp.”
“You know how much bigger you are compared to it right.”
“I’ve never been stung before, I thought I was going to dieVictor.”
Victor flicked her forehead, and watched as she covered herforehead in pain, glaring at him, before he pulled her into a tight embrace.
“Idiot, I wouldn’t have let you be in any real danger, I’vestill got a few more years to spend with you yet.”

anyway i’m still thinkin about roceit newsies au...this got SO LONG its basically a bullet fic of the whole plot at this point but uh enjoy!!! its has all the sides and remy and emile bc i rly wanted to shove them all in here aldkaldka
this is based on the musical mostly bc i have never watched the original movie all the way thru oops
roman is jack and remus is crutchie (thanks boop). remus does crazy stunts even with his crutch and roman is Constantly Worried TM and overprotective of remus even tho remus can DEF take care of himself
on the other hand remus knows roman hates working as a newsboy and just wants to escape to some small town where he can become a local artist of some sort. remus wants roman to go CHASE his DREAMS even tho he’s afraid roman might leave him behind
roman may be the actor but remus is great at coming up with gruesome yet intriguing headlines that get people to buy papers and would totally be a great author of some sort
ON THAT NOTE roman dreams of santa fe and can picture it perfectly but whenever he tries to explain it, it comes out as senseless rambling and longing. it’s remus who can really put into words what roman feels (bc theyre bros and they just GET each other)
virgil as davey, patton as les, logan as sarah (its the musical but they have an extra sibling okay. let me have older brother logan)
virgil and patton show up and virgil is super untrusting and hates that theyre basically lying to get people to buy papers but patton is just EXCITED to meet New People!!! and looks up to roman (and remus), like, instantly
it helps that roman promises to take them to a real actual theater after they sell all their papers owned by the one the only emile picani !!!
also roman is the one who first calls him “virge” which is like jack saying “davey” instead of david. yes this is necessary information
so they sell their papers (and roman briefly meets an ESPECIALLY handsome guy wink wink) and go see emile who performs some variant of That’s Rich like the star he is. u cant take singer emile away from me
roman also performs bc i said so. he spies someone watching him during his act up above the stage and climbs up there when he’s done
janus. its janus, if that wasnt clear or u dont know the plot of the newsies musical aldkaldlal
so yeah janus as katherine!! he may be pulitzer’s son but that doesn’t mean his father wants him to be a journalist. pulitzer thinks he should prepare to inherit the publishing company or be a banker or smth, not be a journalist
i just think janus’ “society is a LIE” vibe fits with katherine. i mean, just look at Watch What Happens. “give life’s little guys some ink,” “they’ll storm the gates,” “rich greedy sourpusses” .... idk it just SCREAMS janus to me
ALSO, katherine technically lies about her identity for like 3/4 of the musical, so
anyway! roman meets janus and janus is all suave and lowkey flirty at first but then roman starts flirting BACK and jan is like “uh oh how to talk to cute boys????”
so then he gets all “i have more important things to do” *hair flip* and goes back to the article he’s supposed to be writing about emile’s theater (a lot of his notes are about roman’s performance but nobody needs to know that shhh)
roman draws a portrait of jan and leaves it there and janus gently & dramatically picks it up, stares at it, and tucks it into his suit with a soft smile
uh oh prices for papers went up! virgil steps up and helps roman lead a strike. turns out his caution works GREAT with roman’s determination and they keep each other from going towards extreme overthinking (virgil) or extreme stupidity (roman). they are a TEAM and they are BESTIES.
remus: lets SET THE PAPERS ON FIRE
roman, starry eyed: HECK YEAH LETS DO IT
virgil: how about we dont do that and instead form a union
and then the twins are like GOOD IDEA and tell everyone else. virgil may be a cautious and untrusting and afraid of public speaking but he has good ideas dangit
the intro to seize the day yknow? virgil says a Good Idea (which can probably be traced back to him always listening to logan rant about his studies) and roman spreads the message in a Firm Rebellion-y way to the other newsies
and patton is there doing his absolute best. he may be small but he knows that this isn’t right or fair to the newsboys and he’s ready to physically fight someone
enter logan who is lowkey really proud of virgil for stepping outside of his comfort zone to do whats right. logan may be scared out of his mind for his little bros but he’s gonna help them as much as he can between college and trying to work side jobs to help their fam
basically logan knows janus and tells him that he should report on the strike bc logan wants to help his bros AND his friend however he can
cue janus seeing his opportunity and TAKING it. he’s gonna write about this strike even if no one else will!!! take THAT, father
he also maybe possibly wanted to see roman again. but roman never needs to know that okay what he doesnt know cant hurt him
seize the day happens!!!! they strike!!!! they r powerful!!! but then no one else from any other sections of new york strike with them and they lowkey get rekt
remus mocks the delanceys but that was a BAD decision cuz now theyre targeting him and he gets taken to the REFUGE
roman is SAD bc his brother’s been taken away, no one showed up to help them strike, his brother’s been taken away and he just wants to get OUT of there. run away to santa fe, his ideal world, but he can’t even articulate that because his brother is gone
how is that just act one. how have i written so much yet left out so much???
remus is at the refuge and he’s a little more scared, now, that roman really will just leave him behind even though he knows deep down that roman would never.
still. he writes roman a letter and maybe he goes into a little too much detail about his injuries and the refuge but hey, that’s remus. he writes about how maybe they can run away to santa fe together. he signs it “your brother” and i CRY because they are the best bros
roman reads it and ALSO cries. especially because there it is, the description of santa fe he can never come up with by himself. remus rly does know him, huh
total scene change: janus finds the other newsies (and logan) in a restaurant? bar? and is like “!!! ur on the FRONT PAGE on my newspaper” which i just decided is called the snake instead of the sun
virgil didn’t totally trust janus would follow thru at first but now he’s convinced. they did it!!!! theyre on the front page!!!! the world WILL know!!!!
cue tapdancing!!!!!! king of new york is an absolute bop. i need logan tapdancing daintily and then janus LAUNCHING into some complex tap routine bc the newsies think he too will dance daintily
i know they wouldnt,,, actually dance but just let me have this self-indulgence in this entirely self-indulgent au
the Bro Trio + janus go hunt down roman to show him the paper and find him painting stuff at emile’s all sad and upset bc, well, they lost and remus was taken
but virgil is trying to show him that they made progress!!! sure pulitzer won but he won the BATTLE and actually the poor guy’s head is spinning bc theyre gonna win.
“cmon, ro, if i’m is telling you to be optimistic there must be hope”
see virgil calls him RO and its cute bc roman gave him the nickname ‘virge’ and now virgil’s giving him the nickname ‘ro’ theyre just besties okay
roman is unconvinced but then logan, who roman has actually never met before, steps in with Facts and Statistics, and patton adds some adorable words of encouragement, and janus sassily waves their Front Page Story at him, and roman starts realizing they DO have a chance
but then uh oh pulitzer threatens remus and the Bro Trio and roman is forced to speak out against the strike or risk ruining the lives of everyone he loves. and also he finds out that janus is pulitzer’s son and is Betrayed TM
theres some “he’s just trying to build up a false confidence in u so u can plummet to even greater depths” parallels in there somewhere....u can’t trust many people as a newsie and when roman DOES trust someone turns out he’s the son of the guy ur trying to fight
so roman says overnight in pulitzer’s basement, sleeping on an uncomfortable old printing press, and makes his decision
now for the RALLY
remy is spot conlon bc he DESERVES to be the leader of the brooklyn newsies. brooklyn, flushing, richmond, etc all show up to a newsies rally and are like YEAH!!! STRIKE!!!!
virgil is trying to tame the crowd nervously and keeps waiting for roman to show up bc they work best when theyre working together!!!! finally roman’s there and virgil introduces him (the attention isnt solely on him now thank gosh)
but then roman starts talking about how they dont stand a chance and how they shouldnt go on strike and virgil is just. confused and upset and angry
especially when he sees one of pulitzer’s employees slipping roman wads of money
virgil corners roman afterwards and is absolutely RIPPING into him. roman could fix this if he would just tell virgil the truth, tell him he doesn’t care about the money, he just wanted to keep him and patton and logan safe—
but roman knows if he tells virgil, then virgil will turn all his anger towards pulitzer, will be able to convince roman to keep going, and roman won’t. he can’t put virgil, put his family, at risk.
so he lies.
he doesn’t mean any of it. but he says it.
and maybe he kind of understands why janus lied, too.
he says he’s never had anyone to take care of him or remus, not like virgil does with his parents and his older brother. he says virgil will never know what it’s like.
virgil scoffs and glares and beneath all his fury looks crushed. but there’s still fire in his eyes, a spark roman saw that first day that only grew and engulfed any doubts virgil ever had.
roman says he’ll take the money and go, leave new york behind.
virgil says fine. we don’t need you. because you know what? all those words you said were mine. i didn’t have the courage to say them back then but now i do. we don’t need you.
(because i watched that scene in the movie and like YES go OFF davey i mean virgil)
roman flees to his “bedroom” which is really just a fire escape and just longs for remus’ reassurance. he has the letter but it doesn’t seem as encouraging now, not when he’s lost everything else important to him.
then janus shows up and roman’s mad at him but not mad enough to kick him out. and janus watched roman just give up on everything they’ve been fighting for and just wants to know WHY. why did he turn his back on the newsies when they were so close?
and roman, tired and upset and defeated, just says they wouldn’t succeed. even if all the newsies went on strike no one would report on it, anyway, because pultizer has all the printing presses on lockdown, even the one janus published from. and they already lost once! what more could they possibly do?
roman looks out over the railing, chest heaving from his rant, longing for his imaginary santa fe where he doesn’t have to face his failures. janus stands next to him and puts his hand over roman’s.
“i don’t have a simple answer to that question....but here’s a start.”
and janus pulls out a paper with roman’s words (well, and virgil’s, because virgil said it first but roman rephrased it powerfully, and that’s why they worked as a team) typed out, words that make the strike not about newsies but about ALL working children in the city who are being exploited for their youth and naivety.
it’s an entire article, expertly written. if published it would get the word out to the other newsies that they haven’t given up and show other working children and adults alike that this is IMPORTANT and they aren’t going away.
and then roman remembers his drawings of the refuge and remus’ graphic descriptions and shows them to janus and hey!!! they have a plan!!! they just need to print it....
roman’s like yo there’s an old press in ur dad’s basement he’d never suspect anything
and theyre both so excited and theyre gonna DO this, FINALLY, and janus sees hope on roman’s face again, maybe permanently this time, and janus just leans in and kisses him.
its very sweet and cute and theyre in LOVE
they pull back and kinda stand there awkwardly for a few seconds before both of them start grinning
and they both know its fragile, that they’ve hurt each other and trust was cracked, but it wasn’t broken completely, and they can fix this. they believe in each other and that’s enough for now.
and then they go find virgil at his house
roman knocks on the door and virgil opens it and just. glares at roman. and roman starts rambling apologies and explanations and tries to tell virgil about their plan and did he mention he’s sorry
virgil kinda just stares at him as he goes on and on and the only thing that stops him is patton running out and launching himself at roman
then logan appears behind virgil, and virgil kinda just smiles
“glad to have u back. again.”
and then they go sneak into pulitzer’s basement and print the article with jan’s writing and ro’s drawings and remus’ descriptions and the other newsies go spread the papers ALL around the city
the next morning EVERYONE is out on strike!!! u cant get ANYWHERE without seeing ppl, newsies or otherwise, filling the streets with chants of “seize the day”
roman, with the Bro Trio and Janus trailing close behind, waltzs on in to pulitzer’s office and flings the money pulitzer gave him back on the desk and is like whatcha gonna do NOW, joe??
pulitzer angrily tells them he’s a fool for going back on their deal and logan steps in sayin pulitzer is a fool for letting this get so out of hand over a 10 cent price increase. his sales are down 70%!! objectively the price increase was like the worst business decision ever
virgil’s like plus it’s making u look bad that ur business is the reason most of these kids are suffering. people really love kids, mr pulitzer and patton smiles brightly but in like a menacing way
then emile walks in with a ~dazzling smile~ and is like ur son told me about this whole situation, it’d be a shame if i contacted my good friend governor roosevelt who won’t be as kind as these brave newsies since u tried so hard to stop him from being elected :)
((in the show roosevelt is actually there but i want emile to have a moment to SHINE))
so pulitzer’s like FINE and talks to roman alone and roman wears him down, throwing words from janus, virgil, and pulitzer himself right in pulitzer’s face until FINALLY they have a deal. he’ll lower the prices by half AND pulitzer will buy back whatever they don’t sell full price
roman bursts out of the office into the streets where all the newsies are waiting and is like WE WONNN
and since they published all that stuff about the refuge in the paper, the guy who runs it is being arrested and REMUS IS FREE
the twins hug for like a full two minutes
then pulitzer offers roman a job as a political cartoonist and roman’s like. well idk now that this is over i should probably...head out
bc lowkey he’s thinking virgil still doesn’t wanna see roman ever again and he did say he would leave, so
but then virgil’s like come on, ro, you don’t really think we want u to leave, do u? what’s santa fe got that new york aint? tarantulas? sandstorms? stampedes? you can’t go to santa fe what if you DIE—
and logan says new york’s got us!
patton: and we’re family, right?
then janus is like you got a union to lead! and...you got me.
and remus is like bro, anyone can dream, all you do is close ur eyes! but some made up world is all you’ll ever see. (bc he’s the wordsy one, u see. he helps roman have the poetic realization that his santa fe isn’t real, but this IS)
so roman says well if u guys INSIST.....and then he takes jan’s hand and kinda asks w his eyes and then kisses jan in front of all the newsies who proceed to cheer obnoxiously
when they break apart roman leads janus by the hand over to the paper-buying-cart and slaps some couns down on the table and BUYS SOME PAPERS BC THEYRE NEWSIES BABEY
and everyone lived happily ever after🥰

What Lockdown 2.0 Looks Like: Harsher Rules, Deeper Confusion
By Damien Cave

Melbourne, Australia’s second-largest city, is becoming a case study in handling a second wave of infections. There are lots of unanswered questions.

Australia’s second-largest city, Melbourne, is grappling with a spiraling coronavirus outbreak that has led to a lockdown with some of the toughest restrictions in the world — offering a preview of what many urban dwellers elsewhere could confront in coming weeks and months.
The new lockdown is the product of early success; the country thought it had the virus beat in June. But there was a breakdown in the quarantine program for hotels. Returning travelers passed the virus to hotel security guards in Melbourne, who carried the contagion home.
Even after masks became mandatory in the city two weeks ago, the spread continued. And now, as officials try to break the chain of infections, Melbourne is being reshaped by sweeping enforcement and fine print. A confounding matrix of hefty fines for disobedience to the lockdown and minor exceptions for everything from romantic partners to home building has led to silenced streets and endless versions of the question: So, wait, can I ____?
Restaurant owners are wondering about food delivery after an 8 p.m. curfew began on Sunday night. Teenagers are asking if their boyfriends and girlfriends count as essential partners. Can animal shelter volunteers walk dogs at night? Are house cleaners essential for those struggling with their mental health? Can people who have been tested exercise outside?
“This is such a weird, scary, bizarro time that we live in,” said Tessethia Von Tessle Roberts, 25, a student in Melbourne who admits to having hit a breaking point a few days ago, when her washing machine broke.
“Our health care workers are hustling around the clock to keep us alive,” she said. “Our politicians are as scared as we are, but they have to pretend like they have a better idea than we do of what’s going to happen next.”
Pandemic lockdowns, never easy, are getting ever more confusing and contentious as they evolve in the face of second and third rounds of outbreaks that have exhausted both officials and residents. With success against the virus as fleeting as the breeze, the new waves of restrictions feel to many like a bombing raid that just won’t end.
For some places, risk calculations can change overnight. In Hong Kong, officials banned daytime dining in restaurants last month, only to reverse themselves a day later after an outcry. Schools in some cities are opening and closing like screen doors in summer.
In many areas where the virus has retreated and then resurged, the future looks like a long, complicated haul. Leaders are reaching for their own metaphors to try to explain it.

In California, Gov. Gavin Newsom has compared his opening and shutting of businesses to a
“dimmer switch.”
Dan Andrews, the premier in Victoria, the state of which Melbourne is the capital, has repeatedly referred to “pilot light mode” for industries like construction and meatpacking, which have been ordered to temporarily reduce their work forces.
Whatever the metaphor, the situation is bleak.
In Melbourne, a city of five million that is considered a capital of food and culture, the pandemic has come raging back even after a so-called Stage 3 lockdown began in early July — until recently the highest level of restrictions.
Officials have been flummoxed at every turn by the persistent complacency of just enough people to let the virus thrive and multiply.
Traffic data showed people driving more in July than they had during the first Stage 3 lockdown, in March and April. Even worse, almost nine out of 10 people with Covid-19 had not been tested or isolated when they first felt sick, Mr. Andrews, the state’s top leader, said in late July. And 53 percent had not quarantined while waiting for their test results.
“That means people have felt unwell and just gone about their business,” Mr. Andrews said.
Sounding the alarm, he made face masks mandatory the next day, on July 22.
Still, infections have continued to rise. They peaked at 753 new cases on July 30, and have hovered around 500 a day ever since, with the death toll in Victoria now standing at 147, after 11 deaths were recorded on Monday.
Those figures, while far less troublesome than those in the United States, have paved the way for a Stage 4 lockdown — what officials are calling a “shock and awe” attack on the virus — that will last at least six weeks.

Overwhelming force, with precision, seems to be the goal. The chief modelers of the pandemic response in Australia have found that the virus can be suppressed only if more than 70 percent of the population abides by social distancing guidelines and other public health rules.
Mr. Andrews said the new restrictions would take 250,000 more people out of their routines, in the hopes of reaching the necessary threshold.
So retail stores will be closed. Schools will return to at-home instruction. Restaurants will be takeout or delivery only. Child-care centers will be available only for permitted workers.
Those restrictions are already well understood. The rules requiring more explanation are tied to the curfew and industries that have to cut back.
Large-scale construction projects of more than three stories, for example, will have to reduce their on-site work force by 75 percent, and workers will not be able to work at more than one location. Small-scale construction cannot have more than five workers.
All of which sounds clear. But does a bathroom renovation, for example, amount to home building in an apartment with one bathroom? And what about fixing things that break, like Ms. Von Tessle Roberts’s washing machine?
Some businesses, like cleaning services, are already emailing customers to say they think they can do some work, for people who pay through welfare or who need help for mental health reasons. But, like many others, they are still seeking official clarification.

Mr. Andrews, a Labor politician sometimes described as awkward and paternal, has become the dad everyone needs answers from. He now oversees, under the lockdown rules, what may be the country’s most intrusive bureaucracy since its days as a penal colony.

Frequently Asked Questions
Updated August 4, 2020
I have antibodies. Am I now immune?
I’m a small-business owner. Can I get relief?
What are my rights if I am worried about going back to work?
Should I refinance my mortgage?
What is school going to look like in September?
As of right now, that seems likely, for at least several months. There have been frightening accounts of people suffering what seems to be a second bout of Covid-19. But experts say these patients may have a drawn-out course of infection, with the virus taking a slow toll weeks to months after initial exposure. People infected with the coronavirus typically produce immune molecules called antibodies, which are protective proteins made in response to an infection. These antibodies may last in the body only two to three months, which may seem worrisome, but that’s perfectly normal after an acute infection subsides, said Dr. Michael Mina, an immunologist at Harvard University. It may be possible to get the coronavirus again, but it’s highly unlikely that it would be possible in a short window of time from initial infection or make people sicker the second time.
The stimulus bills enacted in March offer help for the millions of American small businesses. Those eligible for aid are businesses and nonprofit organizations with fewer than 500 workers, including sole proprietorships, independent contractors and freelancers. Some larger companies in some industries are also eligible. The help being offered, which is being managed by the Small Business Administration, includes the Paycheck Protection Program and the Economic Injury Disaster Loan program. But lots of folks have not yet seen payouts. Even those who have received help are confused: The rules are draconian, and some are stuck sitting on money they don’t know how to use. Many small-business owners are getting less than they expected or not hearing anything at all.
Employers have to provide a safe workplace with policies that protect everyone equally. And if one of your co-workers tests positive for the coronavirus, the C.D.C. has said that employers should tell their employees -- without giving you the sick employee’s name -- that they may have been exposed to the virus.
It could be a good idea, because mortgage rates have never been lower. Refinancing requests have pushed mortgage applications to some of the highest levels since 2008, so be prepared to get in line. But defaults are also up, so if you’re thinking about buying a home, be aware that some lenders have tightened their standards.
It is unlikely that many schools will return to a normal schedule this fall, requiring the grind of online learning, makeshift child care and stunted workdays to continue. California’s two largest public school districts — Los Angeles and San Diego — said on July 13, that instruction will be remote-only in the fall, citing concerns that surging coronavirus infections in their areas pose too dire a risk for students and teachers. Together, the two districts enroll some 825,000 students. They are the largest in the country so far to abandon plans for even a partial physical return to classrooms when they reopen in August. For other districts, the solution won’t be an all-or-nothing approach. Many systems, including the nation’s largest, New York City, are devising hybrid plans that involve spending some days in classrooms and other days online. There’s no national policy on this yet, so check with your municipal school system regularly to see what is happening in your community.
On Tuesday, he answered questions from reporters about dog-walking (allowed after curfew, sort of, only near home) and other subjects of great confusion at a news conference in Melbourne.
Thanking those who complied with the new rules and scolding those who did not, he announced that no one in self-isolation would now be allowed to exercise outdoors. A door-knocking campaign to check in on 3,000 people who had Covid-19 found that 800 of them were not at home.
All 800 have been referred to the Victoria police for investigation. The fine for violators going forward, he said, will be 4,957 Australian dollars, $3,532.
Working, even legally, will also become trickier. Other than, say, hospital workers with formal identification, everyone traveling for a job deemed essential during the lockdown must carry a formal document — a work permit signed by the employer and employee.
For Cara Devine, who works at a wine store that closes at 8 p.m., that means carrying a government form with her everywhere, and hoping that the police recognize her task as essential when she heads home after the curfew. But she also worried about the Uber drivers who take her back and forth.
Image

“Even before the newest restrictions, I’ve had two Uber drivers being really late picking up from the shop because they got stopped by the police, taking about an hour out of their work time,” she said.
The police are already confronting opposition. On at least four occasions in the last week, they reported having to smash the windows of cars and pull people out after they refused to provide a name and address at a police checkpoint. The Victoria police commissioner, Shane Patton, said a 38-year-old woman had also been charged with assault after attacking a police officer who had stopped her for not wearing a face mask.
Some criminologists are questioning whether the harsher enforcement will help. Mostly, though, Melburnians are just trying to endure.
Walking to get groceries, Peter Barnes, 56, said he welcomed the stricter rules, though he admitted his city was starting to feel like George Orwell’s “1984,” with the heavy hand of the state around every corner.
Those focused solely on the economics, he said, should remember the obvious: “You can’t hire a corpse. Very bad employment prospects for people who are dead.”
By Monday night, the city seemed to be in listening mode. The streets were emptying out, silent in hibernation.
“It’s like a Sunday in the 1950s,” said Mark Rubbo, the owner of Readings, Melbourne’s largest independent bookstore. He also noted that people were stocking up again on books through online orders, with a memoir called “The Happiest Man on Earth,” about a Holocaust survivor, becoming a runaway hit.
Ms. Von Tessle Roberts has found another solution, perhaps just as likely to grow in popularity: Stand on your front porch and scream. That’s the name she has given to an event she posted on Facebook, set for Friday at 7 p.m. By Tuesday afternoon, 70,000 people had expressed an interest in joining her collective shout in anguish.
“Yelling is great,” she said. “It’s less dehydrating than crying.”

Golden Kamuy chapter 223; a current critique on the opioid crisis [?] and some of the boys have a sleepover.
This chapter of GK starts out with an update on the status of Nikaido as he runs through the hospital on the title page for “Nikaido cheers up” with a tagline of Nikaidash at the bottom. Ienaga doesn’t look pleased with his dashing about while perhaps Ariska is excited or wants to punch him - I really can’t tell personally.
Let’s move onto the first full page. Nikaido greets Koito and Tsukishima with a booming shout with huge action lines declaring good morning to both of them. Tsukishima still appears deadpan as he holds a portable urinal in his right hand (ugh, not a job I’d like to help Koito out with). Koito politely comments that he’s looking sharper and Nikaido screams it was the new medicine that Arisaka gave him. And then repeats good morning again with a huge shout.
Koito looks a little interested and he’s got some bags under his eyes, so clearly he’s not as keen on Nikaido as Inkarmat’s company. Arisaka then shows up to show a vial of methampetamine and it was developed by a personal friend. Nikaido then yells good morning to Ariska as he vibrates in the background.
Ariska then comments on Nikaido’s hyperactivity being the opposite of his depression as Tsukishima looks unimpressed and over everything. Of course Arisaka is thinking of all of the money they will make with meth. Ienaga then enters to check on Koito’s progress, which is improving well and then begins to hungrily lust over his youthful and beautiful skin. As she’s about to take a bite out of Koito, Tsukishima puts a pistol to her head. Nikaido is running around in the background. Tsukishima is still deadpan. I really am beginning to wonder if something in him broke when he had to threaten Koito in Karafuto.
Ienaga argues that skinning her isn’t much use since everyone has a copy of her tattoo, but Tsukishima states he’ll make a wallet of her. I guess to replace the wallet he may have lost in the fire in Edogai’s house . . . as I recall, he forgot his wallet on his way to the public bath when Ogata went in and the 27th burnt down the house and he didn’t have time to grab it as he fled from Ogata in search of Edogai.
Ienaga states she’s valuable to Tsurumi and that is all that matters. The page ends with Arisaka commenting on Nikaido running around like a cat after it takes a dump. I have to admit that is a hilarious statement to use and shows that Noda is clearly a cat lover and observer of cats. I don’t mean to mock Nikaido’s condition, yet that term is a unique way to describe something.
My own cat loves to get the cat zooms after he goes to the litter box. Why he feels this need to be liberated after a poop is beyond me, but pretty spot on behavior.
The action then turns to Hijikata’s group as Ogata states that they should move to a new location as Ienaga was captured by Tsurumi. It is interesting that Ogata refers Ienaga as both a geezer and he; is this a form of disrespect of Ienaga or is Ogata acting in the time period and just unsure of how to refer to her so he defaults to biological descriptions? Saying geezer is pretty impolite so, I would think that Ogata isn’t keen on Ienaga as a person and therefore speaks rudely of her.
Nagakura saw Ienaga as a transient member of each faction and Kadokura thinks she won’t know the exact location since she was injured at that time. Not thinking, Ushiyama assumes that Tsurumi would have killed him and taken the skin.
Ogata flat out tells them that they are all underestimating Tsurumi. He will pick up on their trail and find this location. He smiles as he tells them it is hard to escape from a Shinigami with a Cheshire cat smile. Oh how I’ve missed his cat smile. He likely knows even if they’d disagree with his firm statement as the most junior man in the room, he’s right. Hijikata even agrees with him as he puts down a book.
I really wonder how Hijikata feels about having the team/faction with less clever people. He gained Ogata for the time but if you stop and think about it, he really doesn’t have any intelligent planners on his team save for himself. . . .
There is then an excellent transition page where Ogata tries to shoot a mallard for dinner. He’s now using his left hand on the trigger and right hand supporting the rifle and lining things up with his left eye. He takes a shot and - misses the duck completely.
His reply, clearly in his own internal conversation with himself is “ . . . .” as we see him work the bolt on the rifle as he has a slight twinge of a frown as he seems to think about his last shot.
Does this mean Ogata is no longer a sniper? Honestly, I’d say he’s re calibrating. There are enough historical examples of snipers losing vision in one eye and retraining to use the other so it isn’t like he’s 100% lost his skills. He’s a tough and stubborn character, I predict he’ll find a way to snipe again. Is he disappointed? Obviously, he’s been using a rifle since he was a kid and he’s going to have to learn everything again, but he’s a smart guy. I think he’ll be fine. It is more interesting to see his struggle as he has to come to terms with the fact that he’s alive and he may need to think more deeply about how he fits in the quest for the gold. Ogata has long relied on his sniping as his #1 skill. He has more than that, but it was the skill that defined him. This should drive his character development.
Just like Sugimoto’s #1 skill is being able to fight like a demon and ignore his injuries. He’s just as bad as Ogata, neither of them can afford to be one trick ponies. They will both have to come to terms with how they look at their own skills and abilities.
The group then takes Ogata’s advice and they stay at a temple showing where a few more of their group are; Kirawus, Toni, Ushiyama, Ariko and the wee babe Kantarou.
Kantarou thinks they’ve found a good hideout with people moving through frequently. Or it makes it harder to track those observing you as you can’t pay as much attention - I predict if they stay in the temple, Tsurumi easily slips a spy in their midst.
Kadokura then is chatting with Hijikata and Nagakura. Despite being a sad old tanuki, he’s still in the jail employee loop and is able to explain that prisoners were sent from Kabuto prison to Abashiri to help with rebuilding. Someone was able to find them in transit and facilitate the escape of prisoners and they are all associated with a pirate. Boutarou the pirate! So a maximum security prisoner who is a pirate just broke his comrades out of jail. He apparently is a very *ahem* accomplished pirate and was one of the 24 tattooed convicts.
Hijikata then comments that he’s “making his move” so Boutarou must be interested in the gold for himself and his fellow pirates? Hopefully, he’s a smarter convict who will make things interesting - I mean pirate, yeah.
The temple door then opens to reveal that Ogata has brought a gift home for dinner, a whooper swan which is about 5ft in size . . . soooo yeah Ogata is not a tall man. Ah yes, the cat is proud of its kill.
This is the exact opposite of when Ogata shot the woodcocks for Asirpa. Those were small and hard to shoot, while this is a bird with a giant target on it. I wonder if Ogata is now working on the concept of starting with a large target and working his way down to smaller ones?
Ushiyama is the first to remark that Ogata doesn’t have to hunt for supper all the time. It is clear that Ogata feels the need to provide for a group - I don’t think it is a whole “I must kill all the animals.” more like “I can practice and get a free supper. Someone please notice and love me.”
Ariko then looks shocked at Ogata’s entrance with the swan. The middle panel is one of complete shock as he says “Superior Private Ogata”. Oh ho! Ariko knows Ogata even though they did not serve together during the war. This is very interesting! This also likely means that Kikuta will become more important and will have an encounter with Ogata. There needs to be something that happens between the sniper and the close range marksman.
Ariko’s reaction is such a Tanigaki reaction - he clearly does not like Ogata and he is immediately uncomfortable with him. What is very interesting is how he touches him just like how he touched Tanigaki when they started their sniper battle. Ariko is completely freaked out and sweating as Ogata asks him if he’s the same [betrayed Tsurumi]. The Cheshire grin as he asks if he betrayed Tsurumi’s group followed by a you never can tell. Ogata likely knows that Ariko is similar to Tanigaki and looks even more nervous only able to reply he didn’ imagine Ogata betraying them.
So, Ariko doesn’t have a good grasp on the Ogata midset, well even Tsurumi doesn’t putting him in the same camp as the rest of the cast. Clearly, whatever Ariko does know about Ogata implies that he was under the indication that Ogata was loyal to the group and would do his dirty work.
I really want to think that Ogata knows that Ariko has to be a mole for Tsurumi - he knows how Tsurumi thinks and I’m sure he’ll bail when the time is right.
Kirawus then is the transition to the discussion about eating the swans and adds you don’t even need to shoot one if you want to eat it when they are fattened up. Maybe Ogata just pounced on it like a cat, but swans and geese are total assholes so I’d personally still shoot it to avoid being poked at by it.
There is an Ainu belief that if you eat a swan your hair will turn grey so Kirawus will not eat it, most of the guys decline. Kadokura declines and is mocked by Kirawus since he already has grey hairs and Toni had not idea that he had gone grey. Kantarou is concerned about his looks so he passes and even Ushiyama won’t do it.
Nagakura and Hijikata enjoy the swan nabe as they describe it as tasty and dumb to pass on eating something worrying about death. It will happen at some point in time so why not. Ogata who is one of the youngest members of the group, then replies “hah” in agreement with both Nagakura and Hijikata as he enjoys his swan nabe. Does this mean Ogata doesn’t care what he will look like? That he won’t live long enough for it to matter? Or is it his total lack of religious/superstitious belief? Hell it could be all of these. Ogata is not one to worry about stuff that doesn’t directly matter.
They all go to bed in one room making it an awkward slumber party as they discuss the swan nabe. They sound like a bunch of gossiping schoolgirls and they try to decide if they should eat the nabe since they are clearly hungry. Ogata blankly stares at the ceiling - it is clear he is judging all of them. Look at his disengagement as he listens.
They clearly decide to eat the nabe and the next morning Nagakura gives them a hard time, teasing them about it. Ogata looks so over it as Kantarou and Kadokura look back at Ogata uncomfortably. The best Kadokura can come up with is the cheesy line that, they figured going grey is better than going bald.
Ogata just stares at Nagakura while Kadokura and Kantarou look a bit nervous.
It really seems like Ogata is sizing Nagakura up - everyone else then laughs (Ogata is not in the panel, but he’s clearly not laughing) and he’s back to silently watching and observing everyone. The final page ends with Nagakura’s internal rage as he spits and his eyes are completely black. Best not to enrage his inner fire . . .
This chapter has been quite useful and is staring to fill in more information as the factions shift.
1.) Koito is recovering well and Tsukishima has kept his dead on the inside and outside expression since Karafuto. I wonder if Tsukishima has broke. Helping Koito piss into a jar isn’t a fun job, but he’s at least keeping Ienaga at bay with no Kantarou to tie up.
2.) Nikaido is a one man military experiment. Now he’s been given meth in addition to his prosthetic limbs. It seems like no matter what will happen, his fate is a terrible one to have. Perhaps with the death of his brother he really is a dead man walking and just doesn’t care anymore.
I wonder if this is a current critique on the opioid crisis in the industrialized world, or the fact that another way to control people is through big pharma? Arisaka and Tsurumi already discussed morphine which Nikaido was previously addicted to and now they’ve switched him to meth. I really honestly feel bad about his character - he really has become a means to an end. I’m also not sure what is worse - his previous addiction to morphine or what will become his current addiction to meth. I’ve had friends that I’ve worked with use it or other friends have dealt with roommates using it. It is a complicated situation - I can’t tell if this is just a quick toss in there concept or if it will become more fleshed out as the story develops. A part of me would like to see this go further.
A quick search reveals that meth addiction and use is a problem in present day Japan and the first epidemic started after WWII as it shifted from the military to civilian hands. I wonder if some manga artists also have used meth or may have considered it based on their rough schedules.

I am not the type of person to even remotely try to examine this as a whole, but having Golden Kamuy introduce a sensitive topic is par for the course by this point.
3.) Ogata is re-calibrating and being quite blunt and forward with Hijikata’s group. He really isn’t trying to change very much in his interactions. He is critical of the lack of concern by several people and flat out tells them to take Tsurumi seriously and to not underestimate him. It looks like Hijikata seems to believe him to some extent. I will say he tries to ease over relations by bringing home dinner. I wonder if he is disappointed as Asirpa, Kiro and Shiraishi were a lot more thankful of his skills than this group.
4.) Ariko is in a tight spot. God, it is like Tanigaki all over again. What does Ariko know about Ogata? He clearly knows him from Kikuta - is he also someone who dislikes him based on what he knew about his past working for Tsurumi? Ogata has to know that Ariko is a double agent for Tsurumi. The question is will he even bother to warn the others or he just doesn’t care.
5.) There is a pirate convict! Oh ho! I look forward to this - it seems the pirate wants to form his own faction looking for the gold and must have been waiting to see how the hunt for the skins has gone. A new faction would be very interesting? Will he team up with others or go it alone with his crew?
Overall, this was a very informative chapter. I felt like it had a good balance of information and action. The Hijikata slumber party scene was quite hilarious. I predict we will see more Ogata, silently watching those guys.

Work Place Romance
Fandom: Texas Chainsaw Massacre Characters: Thomas, Luda, others mentioned Relationship: Thomas/reader Request (ish): So I originally started this as a request for a Thomas proposing request and this was the backstory. But I fell in love with the idea and decided to write it as a stand alone. Enjoy. You had heard of the Hewitt’s growing up, but never saw any of them other than Luda Mae, who had given you free lollypops when you came into the small shop she ran when you were a child. But her son, Thomas, was all but a mystery to you. He didn’t go to school like the rest of the children from the town and surrounding areas. He didn’t play out at the parks or in the fields. Occasionally, you would see him at the river, but never playing. He would normally be on the other side of the water, and you would wave happily to him. He’d return with a shy wave then leave to hurry home. But when he got the job at the meat factory, that was when you started to grow close to him. You were in HR, administration and payroll. If there was any office work, it got dumped on your desk with a snide comment to hurry up. When it came time for Thomas to join, he had to come see you so you could speak him through his contract, his hours, wage, holidays and any sickness leave. This hulking great man sat and listened closely to everything you had to say and you were surprised. Most men just rolled their eyes and snapped at you to hurry up, but Thomas listened and responded with nods when appropriate. You were pretty sure it was because you didn’t speak to him like he was dumb or an animal. You didn’t flinch or turn away from him in disgust or even fear. He started to gravitate towards you, making a point to walk by your office every day before he started and when he finished. 9 times out of 10, you would see him and wave good morning or good night to him. Once, he had fallen. It was another employees fault after they didn’t clean up some cattle blood on the floor and Thomas had been carrying some boxes. He slipped, fell, and had to go home. You had been on holiday for a few days, so when you popped into the little shop Luda owned and heard her and Charlie fretting about what they would do without the income for a few weeks, you stormed back to your office. After a 3 hours standoff with the owner and several employee handbooks and contracts being thrown about, he eventually gave you the okay to pay Thomas a sickness wage, plus compensation for his fall. --------flash back ------------ You wrote the cheque and got in your car. Driving up to the house, you saw a man outside leaning over a open car bonnet. “Excuse me? Is Thomas about?” You called, startling him as he hadn’t heard your car approaching over a radio. “Yeah, whos asking?” The man, you were sure his name was Monty, snapped at you. “My names [y/n], im from the factory.” You tell him and immediately see him relax a little. “Heard about you. Wait a minute.” He turned to the house. “LUDA!” You jumped a little as he called out for Luda but she came out fairly quickly, seeming annoyed to be summoned in such a way but immediately smiling when she saw you. “This young lady’s from the factory. Wants to see Thomas.” Monty filled her in. “Of course, hes just in here.” Luda retreats back inside, beckoning you to follow, which you did. Thomas was in the living room, sitting on the couch. You saw him try to move a little but wince in pain. Your heart broke for him. “Thomas, you got a visitor.” Luda called sweetly to her son who she was obviously dotting on. Thomas turned to see you and immediately went to stand, but both you and Luda stopped him by holding out your hands. “No, its fine.” You smiled, touched that he felt the need to stand up when you entered. You walked around to sit in one of the chairs while Luda leaned on the back of the couch.”Im sorry I didn’t come sooner. Im on holiday for another few days and I try to keep my distance from the factory when I can.” Your comment earned a small chuckle form Luda who shook her head. “Its fine, love. But how did you find out?” She asks and Thomas cocked his head to the side, obviously thinking the same thing. You had ran out of the gas station before her and Charlie had realised. “I overheard you in your shop.” You tell her and you see her face drop. Like many around here, money issues was an embarrassing subject and rarely spoke about outside of family. “I went back to the factory and watched the CCTV footage. There was blood on the floor, it should have been cleaned up or a sign put out. So that means it’s the company’s negligence. I had a little… talk with the owner, and hes agreed to give you sick pay along with some compensation for your injury’s.” You leaned forward and held out the envelope which contained the cheque and a small letter listing what was sick pay and what was compensation. Luda leaned forward and looked over Thomas’ shoulder, her mouth dropping open when she saw the figure. “That’s only up until the end of next month. If you need more time, come and see me. I can probably push for 6 months at the most. Im sorry you had to wait so long.” You apologies sincerely. If you had been there, you would have made sure Thomas knew what he was entitled to before he left so his family didn’t have to fret. You were angry that the owner thought he could just take advantaged of his employees this way. “Sweetie, you don’t need to apologies for anything. Thank you.” She quickly walked around the couch and wraps her arms around you. Even though you were still sitting, you couldn’t help but smile and return her hug. When she pulled back, she was smiling. “Will you stay for dinner? Please?” “Are you sure? I wouldn’t want to intrude. I know I came a bit unexpectedly.” You wanted to accept her invite but didn’t want to barge in on the family who were obviously so close. “Of course you can stay. We’ll set a place for you.” She smiles widely and hurried off to the kitchen to prepare dinner. “How are you feeling?” you asked Thomas, moving off the single seater to the sofa so you could sit beside him. He shrugged, moving his hand to his shoulder. You could see he was wearing a shirt, but the buttons weren’t fully done up. “Are you bruised?” you asked, and he nods and leans forward. He undoes 2 more buttons of his shirt and pulled it to the side so you could see. you gasp a little as you see the bruised flesh. When he had slipped, he had fallen to the side and his shoulder had taken most of the impact. The back of his shoulder and down was the worse area. It was his left shoulder, so he had a little benefit that it wasn’t his dominate arm but that didn’t make it easier. “Im going out to the city tomorrow. I’ll try get something to ease it. Do you have any pain killers?” You asked him as he covered his shoulder again. Your eyes glanced to the side of his neck. You could just see a small area of flesh which was exposed, showing the damaged skin that covered his face. On his shoulder, you had seen he had small areas that were indented, showing that the skin condition must cover his whole body but his face was the worse. It wasn’t till you were looking at him that you realised he was wearing his normal mask over his lower face. You found it strange that he wore it at home, but didn’t question him on it. Thomas reached to the coffee table beside the couch and showed you a half empty packet of paracetamol. “I’ll try get you something stronger. Paracetamol barely helps with my headaches so I cant see it doing much for your shoulder.” You reach out, stroking his upper arm. You could feel the muscles under his shirt tense a little at your touch. Luda watched silently from the door to the kitchen. She had never seen Thomas so comfortable with a stranger. ‘mind you’, she thought to herself, ‘shes not a stranger. He sees her nearly every day’. ---------------time skip ----------------- You pulled up outside the house in the early evening. The sun was still out but it was warm with a cool breeze. “Back again?” Monty called with a small laughter as he sat on the porch in a rocking chair. “afraid so.” You smiled back and Monty nods to the door. “Just head in. call out though.” He tells you and you thank him before grabbing the bag from your passenger side. You climb the stairs to the front door and nod at Monty as you pass him. “Hello? Its [y/n].” You call as you enter the house. You had left late last night after a loely meal with the family. But you had been up early for the drive into the city. It was about an hour and a half but sometimes the traffic on the way in and out was bad so you wanted to give yourself enough time. Glancing into the living room, you saw Thomas wasn’t on the couch. “Thomas?” you called out, the big house suddenly feeling very empty. That was until Thomas came out from the kitchen. He looked a little surprised but happy to see you once again as you made your way towards him. “I got you some stuff to help with your back.” He guided you to the kitchen and you placed the bag on the table in the centre of the room. “So I got some co-codomol.” You pull out the tablets, placing them down. “I wasn’t sure what sort of cream to get you so I got a few things for you to try. If you just do a little patch test first to make sure you wont react.” You place 4 different pots of cream on the table. You continued to pull out a hot water bottle, and ice pack and a few bars of your favourite chocolate. He picks one bar up, holding it up to you with a quizzical look. “When Im hurt or sick, it’s the only thing that gets me through.” You smile, laughing a little. You then pull out a small piece of paper with your number on it. “If you need anything, just let me know.” He takes the paper from your hand like you were giving him some kind of diamond which would shatter if he mishandled it. He couldn’t help but smile and nod to her in thanks. “[y/n]!” Luda called as she came in the door, Monty having told her you were here. “Will you be staying for dinner?” You couldn’t help but smile a little as you looked at Thomas. He nodded, his eyes begging you to stay as Luda came in the kitchen. “Yes, but you have to come round tomorrow.” You smile and Luda immediately inspects everything you had bought back. --------time skip -------------- You drove along the road, your eyes searching for the big hulking figure. It was going to be his first day back, but Luda had called you and said he had started to walk to work this morning. He had been off for 3 months, giving him enough time to heal, but that didn’t mean he was completely better. You couldn’t have that. So you said you would see if you could pick him up. Sure enough, you saw him walking along side the road. He didn’t normally take the road into work, usually keeping to the safety of the forest route to hid from people. But there had been a small bit of rain and the woods were muddy today. Putting your indicator on, you pulled up beside him. He jumped a little but relaxed when he saw you. “I’ll give you a lift.” You call when he silently questions why you were here. Opening the door, Thomas got into your car without further question. Your ac was nice and cool and the soft music coming from your radio relaxed him as you drove. “I can give you a lift home tonight. The only thing is I finish an hour after you, so you don’t need to wait about if you don’t want to.” You look at Thomas who nods. You weren’t sure if he was accepting the lift or wanted to respond while he thought about it. You didn’t push him. -------------time skip ---------------------------- The factory was now empty, apart from you, one of the managers and Thomas. You always locked up at night, which gave you a little quieter to finish your work in after the rest went home. Thomas had came to your office when he finished and saw in the corner while you worked away, chatting occasionally to him. “Don’t be too late.” The manager called through the door. “Wouldn’t want your husband waiting up for you.” “Haha, very funny.” You rolled your eyes but chuckled. Unlike the others, he wasn’t too bad. You saw Thomas sit up straight, his eyes darting to your left hand. “Im not married, if that’s what your thinking.” You glance up at Thomas as you heard the front door close, leaving just you and him. Thomas’ eyes darted to the door. “it’s a joke. So none of the guys try to hit on me.” You tell him as you stand up to file some stuff away quickly. You had become a much more permanent place in Thomas; life than before. You came and saw him 3 or 4 times a week and he waited anxiously for you. When he and his family went to yours for dinner, he had been all to happy to sit on the couch with yu and watch TV after. You slotted so perfectly into his life, into his heart, than he struggled to believe you were real. you felt the same about the man sitting behind you. He was sweet, and rather gentle despite his abilities. Luda had admitted to you than she could see how her son felt for you. She had told you than he watched for you coming and seemed to sulk when you left. This was enough to give a little more courage than you would normally have. “I think I’ll need to find a husband soon. Some of them are catching on.” You giggled, calling over your shoulder. You heard the chair scrap as Thomas stood up. Glancing over your shoulder, he walked up to you and stood behind you. His eyes were curious, so you decide to try and answer what he might be thinking. ‘why?’. “All the woman in town are married now. Might just need to find myself a husband. Someone big and strong.” You turned to face Thomas, biting down on your lower lip. Thomas towered over you and yet, you didn’t feel intimated. You knew you held the upper hand here and he wouldn’t do anything that would upset you. but you knew he wouldn’t have the strength or confidence, even if you wanted him to. “Hows your shoulder.” You reach up, resting your hand on his left shoulder. You allowed your hand to move in soft, slow circles and Thomas shuddered at the touch. You stepped closer to him, closing the gasp between you as your other hand rested on his chest. Slowly, you wrap your arms around his shoulder, trying to not put too much pressure on his left shoulder. Once your hands were behind his head, you undid the mask which shielded his face. His eyes never left your own as he seemed unable to pull away from your touch. In fact, the only time his eyes darted away was when his mask fell away and you saw his face for the first time. He moved his head to the side, his eyes closing as if he couldn’t bare to see your reaction to his features. That was until he felt a soft palm on his cheek, and you guided him back to look at you. His eyes opened only for a moment to see the love in your eyes and he couldn’t contain himself. leading down quickly, he smashed his lips against your own. It wasn’t the soft and gentle kiss you had been expecting. You had expect to have to incited that as well, keeping it slow and soft. but you certainly weren’t complaining. His lips worked against yours in a desperate and needy way that made your head spin. It wasn’t like any other kiss you had had in your life. you couldn’t help but moan into the kiss which had set your world alight in the space of a few second. A feeling which you could quickly becoming addicted to. His arms locked around you and, before you knew what was happening, you were being lifted up. Thomas carried you to your desk, setting you down without breaking the kiss. you quickly spread your legs so he could step between them. one of your hands buried itself in his thick hair with the other travelled down from his shoulder to his chest to grab onto his tie. You pulled him closer, leaning back so you were lying on the desk, his large frame over you as you gasped for air between kisses. But you both broke apart when the phone started to ring beside you. You quickly grabbed it, knowing that if it were the owner, he would think you had gone home early. Glancing at the clock, it was only 5 minutes before you finished, but he would still yell at you for that. However, when you answered, it was Luda. “Is Thomas still there?” She fretted, obviously expecting him to have been home by now. “Yes, sorry. Im going to give him a lift back. I finish in 5 minutes.” You tell her, hoping she wouldn’t hear how out of breath you were. “oh good. Thank you.” She let out a sigh of relief then giving an apology for phoning you before hanging up. You placed the phone back down, looking up to Thomas was still leaning over you, but had propped himself up on his hands as he stared down at your fear in his eyes. you propped yourself up on your elbows, a soft smile on your lips. Thomas relaxed when he saw your smile. you leaned up and pressed a soft kiss to his check. He seemed to want to mirror your affection and leaned down, pressing a kiss to your neck. He paused there for a moment, worried he might have overstepped his boundaries, until he heard a soft sigh leave your lips as you leaned against him. The sound of the front door made Thomas jump as he twisted around, leaving you on the desk as he heard jogging footsteps approaching the office. He was prepared to protect you any way he could, until he saw a figure run right past the door. “Left your keys?” you called out into the hallway, making Thomas relax a little. “uh, no?” The voice Ricky called back, but he was lying. You heard him walking back, popping his head into the room and seeing Thomas standing in front of you. You had sat up properly and crossed one leg over the other, but that didn’t mean he couldn’t see what happened. “Work place romance?” He asked, winking at you but you quickly flipped him off. “Remind me, how did you and Pamala get together again?” You asked, innocently. His face fell, remembering that he got her pregnant when she worked here. It was a scandal in the town. “well, I’ll see you tomorrow.” He nodded at Thomas and was quickly on his way. Giggling, you hopped off the table and approached Thomas. His hands were balled into fists which quickly loosened when you took his right hand in both of your own. “Would you like a work place romance?” You asked Thomas, looking up at him with doe like eyes. His gaze softened when he met your eyes and immediately nodded. “me too.” You smiled, unable to hide your blushing cheeks. You grabbed your bag and keys and the two of you left the factory, but not before phoning Luda saying you were running slightly late. Although this was a lie, you and Thomas would have to do a little sneaking about at the start. Who knows. Plenty of work lovers turn into the real thing. Although, you were pretty sure it was already real, it would be fun for a while to have a work place romance with your gentle giant.

Big Hero 7 S2
Intern-About
Fred: *Narrating* San Fransokyo! Greatest city in the world! Once threatened by nefarious forces, now a beacon of peace thanks to the fortitude of Big Hero 7!
*As it turns out, Fred is at Hiro's garage as he pulls out a paper with his drawing of the team. He is simply sitting on the chair while Hiro is tinkering with his project. But while he was narrating he stands up on his seat, which is noticed by Baymax.*
Baymax: You are unstable-
Fred: What?
Baymax: Falling from a chair, is a major cause of injuries. would you like a step ladder?
Fred:*Sitting back down* Oh no, I'm good, I guess I just got carried away with my excitement about today?
Baymax: Wednesday?
Fred: No, although Wednesdays are pretty underrated. I mean today is the start of Phase two!
Hiro: *Distractedly* Ah.. Phase two?
Fred: Ah Hiro, sometimes I forget how young you are. *Crosses out a sketch of Obake* Defeating Obake was the epic conclusion to phase one.
Hiro: *Still focused on project* Phase one?
Fred: And that part with those three guys helping us fight of an emo anime kid who goes about 'Darkness" was a good interlude. But now, its time to extended to Phase two of the Big Hero-Verse! And now its time for all new adventures! Thus, phase two!
Hiro: Is it still phase two if nothing happens?
Fred: *Chuckles* So young, so innocent. Something always happens Hiro, only in phase two its way bigger. Who knows what darkness lurks in the vast unknown?
(?): Vast unknown what?
*Fred and Hiro look up to see Cora at the entrance of the garage, smiling warmly at the two. Hiro gets up and smiles widely as he hugs his girlfriend in greeting.*
Hiro: Hey Babe, you feeling good? Got everything?
Cora: Yep! All of it here!
*Cora pulls out her two backpacks to show. This Fred notices.*
Fred: Everything for what?
Hiro: Cora is gonna be spending a few days here.
Fred: Jeesh! I get you two are an item, but now you two live together? Especially with Cora's Giant dad's permission?*sniff* They grow up so fast.
Cora: Its not that! *Blushes before her eyes gaze down.* I just.. need some time out of the house.
Fred: What for?
Hiro:*Looking up to fred as he places a hand on her shoulder to comfort her.* Fred, you do know what today also is right?
*Fred tilts his head in confusion until he sees his scrunched up sketch of Obake, which causes Fred to look up to see Cora placing a hand on his as a small way to thank for his comfort. As of while, a car stops in front of the Mizichio household, with Mizuchi and Kaguya standing outside. The driver exits out to reveal commander, along with a man and a very familiar robot. The new man was dressed in a black leather jacket, blue jeans and a button up white shirt; a gaze wrap still on his head as he looks at Mizuchi and Kaguya. Mizuchi finally steps forward and gently places a hand on the man's shoulder while Kaguya smiles at the robot.*
Mizuchi: Welcome Home...Kage.
*Kage only nods as he looks at his robot companion, the first Baymax, who says his usual greeting to the two.*
Baymax 1: Hello, I am Baymax. Kage Mizichio's personal healthcare companion. I am accompanying my patient to survey and take care of Kage's health and well being.
Kaguya: Thank you Baymax. *To Kage and Mizuchi* Now lets head inside, you two are lucky Cora left behind a few days worth of dinner.
Kage: Co...*He pauses before he continues* She isn't here?
Mizuchi: *Sighs deeply* Cora isn't ready yet, and I can't force her to see you.
Kage: I know...after all I did to them...
Mizuchi: Correction; after what you did as Obake. Now, you are Kage Mizichio. My little brother. Come on now, we better head inside.
*Kage hesitantly follows the two inside, his heart pounding as he enters into the small but cozy house with his Baymax close behind. While that is happening, from the depths of San Fransokyo Bay; a seaweed creature like monstrosity emerges as it drags behind a large crate. Finally it removes the seaweed from its face to reveal a set of glowing, red, familiar eyes.*
N.B.B: Hee Hee. Hee Hee. Hee Hee.
*The following day; the whole gang (Minus Fred) are with Professor Grandville on an exclusive visit to a rather renowned scientist: Liv Amara and her laboratory: Sycorax.*
Honey Lemon: Sycorax is even more amazing then I imagined!
Wasabi: And even cleaner than I imagined! Its immaculate!
Gogo: Its fine.
*Cora looks around the room as her stomach slowly flips over itself being in the building that was run by Liv Amara, but it did ease her mind that her friends are with her, especially her boyfriend Hiro.*
Grandville: Liv Amara pledged a fortune to the school. I expect best behavior.
*Cora turns her head to see a large man, not as large as her dad though, carry Hiro back to the group which Cora realizes she hadn't noticed till now. Hiro looks at Cora who has a raised eyebrow in her face to which he sheepishly smiles back. *
Hiro: I-I know it said no photos, I didn't know it meant 'no photos'.
Grandville: I trust you will ALL supportive of Karmi and her new internship.
Hiro: its an internship, its not a big deal.
Gogo: You're right... its a huge deal.
Cora: *Taps Hiro's shoulder* Um, Hiro... mind if I talk to you for a moment? *To big buff and Grandville* Can I talk to Hiro for little bit alone?
*The man soon pushes the two out to the hall and closes the door as Cora grabs Hiro's shoulders and looks at him in the eyes.*
Cora: Hiro, you are missing the bright side of Karmi's internship with Liv Amara.
Hiro: I get it, she's a biotech major and Liv would go for her, I get it. That's what the gang told me.
Cora:... OK... But what I mean to say is that Karmi being on an internship with Sycorax means she would be busy HERE, rather then SFIT.
Hiro: *Catches on* Which means she won't be around often to do her tricks!
Cora: Exactly! Her internship means we can finally breathe without her annoyance in our school days!
Hiro:*Caught in excitement that he picks her up and twirls her around* Which means no more Karmi!
Cora: Yeah! No more Karmi!*giggles*
*After calming down from their excitement, Hiro and Cora are let in with huge smiles on their faces as they join back the group. Finally Liv Amara shows up.*
Liv: Grace! Sorry to keep you waiting. I was stuck in a holoconference, you know how tedious those are. Lets get this tour started! *then a man appears beside her, a tall and tanned man.* This is my assistant Chris.
Chris: Ooh! Do the joke! Do the joke with my name!
Liv: My,'chrisistant'.
Chris:*Laughs* She makes me laugh! Any who, your name tags have been individually programmed to display your age, height, interests-
Wasabi: And names?
Chris: Course!...Wasabi!
Wasabi: He knows my name!
Cora: Your real name?
Wasabi: Yeah!
*Cora was about to ask when she notices the rest of the group are moving forward and so quickly catches up. They soon enter a greenery where small bots are floating around where the scientists employed by her are hard at work.*
Liv: I know Sycorax's just another biotech company, Mother Nature is an artist, and I see myself as her protégé. Studying and even improving on her work.
Grandville: Inspiring.
*Hiro turns his face to see Cora's face slightly laced with suspicion and worry as Liv phrased that. This is something he had noticed when Liv's continued visits to SFIT happened often and around Karmi, which made him concerned for since this look of apprehensiveness had stayed with Cora whenever Liv Amara was around or mentioned.*
Liv: I favor a holistic approach to the work life balance. In fact, right now you're all walking on biometric scanners which are linked to your name tags.
*The group look down to see a bright circle around Liv Amara as it speaks her name.*
Liv: Watch.
Voice: Liv Amara, your ratings are normal and healthy. Have a great day.
*Two little robots float to Chris... and Cora. The first bot went to Chris as it reveals sushi. Cora blinks as she opens it to reveal a small bowl of Miso soup with red seaweed and mussels in it, which causes Cora to widen her eyes in surprise. Everyone else was surprised that Cora even had lunch considering that Liv said its for employees.*
Liv: You've also noticed these little guys flying by. Employee lunches are fresh and delivered right to their desk.
Chris: *Whispering to Wasabi* I sourced the ingredients myself!
Wasabi: Ooh!~
Cora: *Innocently pointing out* These little bots remind me of the Buddy Guards Krei made! Only difference is that they're green!
*Hiro turns his head to see Liv Amara's eye slightly twitch along with her mouth at being compared to Krei, which raised suspicion in his head. But Liv Amara quickly wipes away the twitching and continues on with the tour.*
Liv: Course, we're proudest of our state of the art, Vent-Tech lab.
*Once the doors open, it revealed to be as spacious as it is impressive in tech. Hiro looks around as Cora gazes up on the ceiling to see the lights before looking back to her boyfriend.*
Hiro: This must belong to someone really important!
Karmi: It does.
*And both Hiro and Cora's mood sour at the sight of Karmi, but both thankfully retain their memory of how after this Karmi wouldn't be a huge bane in their lives at SFIT.*
Hiro: *Puts on a smile* Glad to know that you'll be working here with Liv Amara after school! After all, you do love Bio-Tech!
Karmi:*Smug and condensending smirk* I know.
Cora:*Walks over to Hiro and Karmi as she places her hand on her boyfriend and smiles 'sweetly' at her.* Its too bad though, it also means you'll be too busy here to actually see your 'friends', but they'll manage without you!
*That's when Karmi sees through Cora's meaning and her smile quickly wipes away before returning to its cheery self cause Liv Amara is there.*
Grandville: Karmi, this is your lab?
Karmi: Just temporarily, my real lab is being modified to my specs.
Liv: We treat our interns well... and speaking of interns...*Looks at Cora* There's something I would like to show you all. Its a surprise!
*This causes rising excitement in the group, though it does leave Karmi and Cora slightly confused. Soon they all arrive at a blue door.*
Liv: As a Bio-Tech business woman, I knew I would have to expand my knowledge onto the ocean itself, and all the mysteries it holds!
*The door opens to reveal a huge lab just as spacious as Karmi's but themed around aquatics and containing rare and exotic fish in large tanks, holograms of marine life moving.*
Cora: *Star-eyed* Wow! This is awesome! Look at that! The Starfish Hologram is showcasing how it moves!
Liv: I'm glad you enjoy this lab... cause its all yours.
*Cora's eyes widen as she looks up to see if she heard it correctly. The others are looking at Liv Amara as she extends her hand to Cora.*
Liv: It would be a great honor if you join Sycorax as my Marine-Bio Intern!
Cora: What?
Chris: What?
Hiro, Wasabi, Gogo, Honey Lemon, Grandville: What?
Karmi: *In complete shock* WHAT?!
Liv: So what do you say Cora?
*Now everyone's eyes were on Cora, who's heart and mind are racing at the equivalent speed of a Mach 1 jet. She sees her friends, boyfriend, and teacher having large supporting smiles, Chris squealing in delight, and behind Liv Amara, Karmi seething in envy*
Cora: Umm...*Sighs, and puts on her best smile* The offer does sound lovely... but there's somethings in my life that I need to..think over... could you at least... give me some time before I make a decision?
*Liv Amara and Karmi blink at Cora's answer as did the gang, but Hiro is more concerned about Cora and how she felt, and from what he is seeing she wasn't feeling so good.*
*But while that was happening, an old abandoned warehouse is currently being housed by Noodle Burge Boy who is opening the crate he was carrying from the bay.*
N.B.B: Howdy and Hello Trina!
Trina: Hey Noodle, come on, help me put myself together.
*Trina's body climbs out of the crate as N.B.B looks back at her head.*
N.B.B: Can't complete that order now Big sis! I-I-I have to go home.
Trina: What are you talking about?
N.B.B: Home.
Trina: Home is gone, Father's gone.
N.B.B:*Placing Trina's head on a table.* Not Dad's house! My real home! See ya around!
*N.B.B runs off leaving Trina and her clueless body.*
Trina: Wait! I need my body!
*The body tried to place her head back on, but quickly falls off. Back at SFIT, Baymax is playing with the ping pong bot, to which he easily loses to.*
Baymax: Nice shot.
*Fred scoots over to which he positions Baymax so he can properly hit the ball back to the Ping Pong bot. His hit allows the bot to miss, causing Fred to cheer. After they fistbump they turn around and see the gang return.*
Baymax: Hello.
Fred: Was Sycorax the coolest?
Honey Lemon: It was incredible!
Wasabi: Chrisitant!
Cora: It was something alright...
Fred:*Noticing Cora's look* Hey, what up? You don't look so good.
Cora: I just have something to think about... please excuse me... I need some alone time...
*Cora walks over to Hiro's lab to which he notices the looks his friends are having.*
Fred: What happened?
Baymax: Judging from Cora's troubled eyes and 'long face', she is in a state of apprehension and doubt.
Hiro: Well, you see... at first it was fine. Liv Amara showed us around and saw cool stuff...*frowns a little* even got to see Karmi's new lab, *retains normal voice* But then Liv Amara shows us this Marine Bio lab and offered Cora an internship right on the spot!
Honey Lemon: Yeah! Liv Amara even offered her a full scholarship and payment if she joined.
Wasabi: I've never seen Karmi so green at that moment.
Hiro:*Remembering the girl's face and smiling smugly* Oh yeah.
Fred: So did Cora accept?
Gogo: The thing is, Cora said no.
Fred: No?
Hiro:*In defense of Cora* What Gogo means is that Cora said to Liv Amara that she would think about the internship. She said that she has to deal with stuff at home first before she makes her decision.
Fred: So Basically, she said No to a woman who has so far, gotten everything she wanted and for the first time in her life received a maybe?
Gogo: What makes you say that about Liv Amara?
Fred: New sprouting big business often leads to interesting plot threads on the Hero's journey.
Hiro: I don't know how to feel about this... I'm happy that Cora is offered an internship at Liv Amara's company... but she didn't look too happy... or comfortable.
Gogo: what do you think happened?
Baymax: I have two new messages just now: According to Baymax 1, Kage is adjusting to his new room at Cora's house and is currently resting in his new room. Neuroscans show that he is stable.
Hiro: Whats the second news?
Baymax: There will be a parade in a few days for Karmi and Cora by Liv Amara.
*Soon enough they all received messages about the parade, much to their surprise.*
Honey Lemon: A parade for Karmi and Cora?
Gogo: *Raises eyebrow* Even though Cora said she'll think about it?
Fred: She probably interpreted it as a yes.
Cora: *Frustrated yell*
Hiro: Scuse' me guys!
*Hiro goes over to his lab where he sees Cora looking peeved at the phone.*
Hiro: Hehe...Guess you're not taking it well...
Cora: Its just... *Remembers something* Hiro... there's something you and the gang should know about Liv Amara!
Hiro: W-What is it?
Cora: Ya see, at the honor gala for her... Krei-
*Hiro's phone beeps as he gets a message... from Krei himself. Before either of them knows it, Hiro and Cora are in Krei's office with Mizuchi standing by.*
Krei: I don't usually call this abruptly but considering you both saved my life I figured *To Hiro*, if you would be interested.
Hiro: *Raising eyebrow* Interested in what exactly?
Krei: How would you like to be my intern?
Hiro: R-Really?
Krei: Of course! After all you've done for me I figured I do something in return for you!
Lois: Also because he heard about the parade Liv Amara is throwing a parade for two of her interns.
Cora:*Mumbles* Not something I'm very comfortable with to be honest.
*Mizuchi walks over to Hiro and pats his head, to which Hiro lets out a small smile. He then looks at his daughter as he then goes over and hugs her tightly.*
Mizuchi: Remember Cora, you have a voice in the matter.
Cora: OK Papa.
*At night, the Noodle Burger restaurant is closing up for the night as the manager turn off the lights. She sighs sadly as she looks at the figurine of N.B.B. But when she is about to leave she hears the little pitter patter of little walking gears. She quickly turns on the lights and sees the thing. N.B.B had snuck inside and is now observing his old charging pad.*
Manager: Noodle Burger Boy!
*She goes to hug to the burger bot tightly.*
Manager: You broke an Assistant Manager's heart! OOh~ But I'm just so happy to have you back!
N.B.B: Can you tell me how to get home?
Manager: But you-You are home baby.
N.B.B: *Twicthing* No-I-I need home cooking.
Manager:You want a hot noodle pie?
N.B.B: No! You can't help me then- Order up!
Manager: Wait! no!
*But soon enough, noodle burger boy jumps over and starts wrecking the restaurant*
N.B.B: I-I-I have to go home!
*The manager hid herself as she hears the twisted and corrupted version of his theme song play, destroying all he knew. N.B.B then pukes out pickles.*
N.B.B: So long lady! I'm going home.
*After N.B.B leaves, the Assistant manager quickly calls someone.*
: Bryan, I have bad news.
*Bryan could only gape in shock as he is told the news.*
Bryan: WHHYYYY?
N.B.B: So long lady! I'm going home.
Blunder: A familiar noodle nuisance has attacked a local fast food franchise.
*From Trina's side, after fixing herself up, she is working on something.*
Trina: Don't worry little brother, soon as I finish this, I'll find you.
*But the project in question twitches before it knocks off her head. The gang are currently look over the report as well at the cafeteria.*
Blunder: Lettuce hope that Big Hero 7 will ketchup to this mechanical menace *Chuckles* I wrote that myself. But seriously the property damage was extensive.
Gogo: How did Noodle Burger Boy survive?
Cora: He probably booked it when the lab was destroyed...
Wasabi: And what do you think he meant by home?
Honey Lemon: We have to find him!
Cora: and get Krei and...that guy to fix him!
Honey Lemon: That guy?
Hiro:*forced coughs to muffle the name.*
Fred: What was that? Who else is gonna fix noodle Burger boy?
Cora: Kage...I mean Kage...He broke him, he can easily fix him.
Fred: Oh yeah!... Your step uncle...that's gonna be awkward when they meet up considering you know...Kage as Obake did all that stuff...and stole from Krei..
Hiro:*Changing the topic* I say we go on day patrol.
*Baymax's belly glows as it shows Mizuchi's picture. Soon his voice is heard.*
Mizuchi: Hello? Hiro? I am near the school to pick you up for your internship. Be ready as I'll be around the entrance.
Hiro: K, thanks Mizuchi!
*The picture disappears as Hiro gets up.*
Gogo: still can't believe that Krei, of all people, would offer you an internship.
Hiro: I'm just lucky I guess.
Cora: Mind if I come too? I want to see my Papa.
Hiro: Sure.
Honey Lemon: Guess we'll save it for night patrol.
*Hiro and Cora walk together holding hands as they pass by Karmi, who looked up to see Hiro and Cora. Karmi's eyes narrowed at Cora specifically as her hand snaps her pencil in half, which soon revealed a poorly drawn doodle of Cora with multiple pencil stabs. Finally she gets up so she can get a little satisfaction from at least getting a rise from either of them. All the while thinking over Liv Amara's offer to Cora; why would she also pick her? Sure she's a marine bio student but still? What did she have that she doesn't? She finally catches up to them and is about to blurt out her mouth when a badass motorcycle drives through the school grounds and finally stop in front of the two teens. The Driver himself is clearly large in stature and muscles, and the black helmet gave off the aura of fear. Then the motorcyclist removes the helmet to look at the two.*
Cora: Hi Papa!
Mizuchi: Hello my little Cora. *To Hiro* Ready for your new internship Hiro?
Hiro: Ready as I'll ever be.
* After Hiro puts on his helmet and drives off with Mizuchi Cora walks back to join the gang only to see Karmi gobsmacked at what she saw.*
Cora: Oh! Umm.. that was my dad! He's taking Hiro to his internship at Krei Tech! Thankfully since Papa works there too, the rides there would be easier...
Karmi:*No response*
Cora: Well bye.
*Just then a man wearing a sycorax uniform comes by with a large box.*
Man: Came looking for Liv Amara's new intern.
*Karmi smiles at the man sweetly as she could, only to be pushed aside to go to Cora, who was just heading back inside.*
Man: Are you Cora Mizichio?
Cora: Yes? *Raises eyebrow.*
Man: Ms. Amara has sent you this dress to wear for you and Karmi's parade.
*The man lifts up to show it was a beautiful, a reddish pink, short sleeved and knee length skirt dress for the occasion. Cora looks up at the man and then to Karmi, who is now practically seething in rage. Soon after Cora goes towards Grandville's office.*
Grandville: Hello Cora, how can I help you?
Cora: Well...can I talk to you about the internship Liv Amara gave me?
Grandville: Of course, it was a rather unexpected but pleasant surprise that Liv Amara would choose two of SFITs finest students to intern for her.
Cora: You could say that...
Grandville: Is something the matter?
Cora:...Don't take this the wrong way... but... I don't think... I should agree to be her intern?
Grandville:*Blinks eyes in surprise before she regains her composure* Is that so?
Cora: I know she's a famous Biotech business woman who's done stuff.. but... I don't really comfortable being near her. And the fact that she is throwing a parade for Karmi and I just makes me a little uneasy...especially after... you know... And why would she want her as an intern? And all these gifts and offers to me just makes me feel so yucky... What should I do?
*Grandville could only look at the girl as she thinks over her response to the girl. Finally she goes up to her and speaks to her.*
Grandville: Working for Liv Amara would raise the reputation of our school and her work has defiantly improved lives, it would be a waste to throw it away.
*Cora looks down at her feet as she wrings the edge of her skirt.*
Grandville: But, to throw away your comfort just so you can please others when you're not ready is just as much waste. For both the student and the employer. I cannot force you to accept Liv Amara's internship, even if I wanted to. You will have to do whats best for your interest, and decide when you are ready.
Cora: Thank you Grandville.
Grandville: Cora... How is Kage doing?...
Cora: Kage… He's fine...I guess.. hadn't seen him though... I'm taking a few days off the house so I could... you know.. breathe...
Grandville: It is tough to face him... especially after all he has done. Just promise me this...that you'll check over Kage… and be careful.
Cora: Thank you again. Now, I gotta go prepare for night patrol.
Grandville: Ah yes, cause of Noodle Burger Boy.
*Cora walks off the door and waves goodbye*
Cora: Wish us luck!
*Later one that night, Six of Big Hero 7 join up at the rooftops of the city. Its there that Honey Lemon and Fred are paired up together.*
Honey Lemon: Fred look!
*She pulls out her chem ball to create a cushion for them to fall into as she points out a trail of green juice. Fred kneels down to sniff out this mysterious trail.*
Fred: Picking up loads of dill... Briny... Pickle Juice!
*Fred and Honey Lemon both find where the trail goes and soon finds N.B.B, stuck to the wall as it tried to walk away with pickle juice dribbling from his face. Then his head spun to see them.*
N.B.B: Howdy!
Fred: Ugh, the head spin is so creepy right?
N.B.B: Relish it!
*Soon N.B.B pukes out more pickles as Fred and Honey Lemon run.*
N.B.B: You can't stop me! From going home!
*Soon N.B.B spritz into the public glitching.*
Fred: Super jump!
N.B.B: Do you wanna be fried with that?
*Fred avoids being hit by N.B.B's laser eyes as Honey Lemon ducks.*
N.B.B: Order up!
*Fred quickly jumps out of his hiding spot and saves a woman from being hit by the laser. N.B.B walks away after the chaos he has caused, but before Honey Lemon could stop him she heard a little girl's cry for help. She goes over to protect the little girl from the laser beam and a guy not paying attention to the fact that there was a malfunctioning burger bot on the loose. Fred tries to hold him down but he couldn't, and so he escapes via speeding trolley.*
N.B.B: Toodle Doodles!
*Fred and Honey Lemon could only gasp. As of while Hiro and Mizuchi are the breakroom as the older man pops his back.*
Mizuchi: Agh… that was some day of work huh?
Hiro: Yeah... you know, when I thought about this place and what its like, I never thought it would be like this.
*Over the day Hiro had been tailgating Mizuchi as Krei realized he had no idea what to do with an intern. He almost suggests Hiro should pick up his dry cleaning till Lois points out that was her job and not appropriate work for an intern. So instead, Mizuchi and Hiro went through the day standing guard, lifting crates, and even sparing during break time. The employees were actually pretty decent, friendly too; and this aura made Hiro think about Liv amara's employees and tried to compare them to hers...and found it...that Krei's employees were much happier then Amara's...which was saying a lot. But now Hiro and Mizuchi are in Krei's office after their day of work.*
Mizuchi: Alright now, We just gotta check up with Krei and then we're heading home!
Hiro: I agree... *Rubs shoulder* That lifting was really a work out.
Mizuchi: One that you have improved greatly. Glad to know our lessons have been doing you some good.
Hiro: Thanks Mizuchi...So...how's...Kage?
Mizuchi: Little brother... is still getting used to his new life... For now we share a room. He's always been quiet and thoughtful, and could only speak in short sentences.
Hiro: OK... so its just slow.
Mizuchi: I just worry that will happen if Cora and Kage see each other again... or you and anyone else. He's freezes up at the thought of meeting you all... and could barely speak my daughter's name...either he's tremendously guilty... or he's pushing himself away..
Hiro:* Looking thoughtful before responding* Mizuchi, You know we all have your back right? Well...we'll keep an eye of Kage… maybe we could visit him for a change.
Mizuchi: That does sound nice.
* N.B.B is still searching for his home as he pukes at the truck before merrily skipping his way. This time, Gogo and Wasabi are in the scene.*
Wasabi: He's acting weird. And he's pretty weird to start.
Gogo: Lets move.
*Gogo skates down as Wasabi joins to stop N.B.B.*
Gogo: Noodle Burger Boy, you're coming with us!
N.B.B: No can do! I've got to go home!
Wasabi: Where is home?
*N.B.B shoots laser eyes again as Gogo dodges out of the way. During the scuffle Wasabi's laser redirected the laser beam and cut off his leg.*
N.B.B: Oopsie! Work place injury!
Wasabi: Oh that's just wrong.
*N.B.B starts attacking Wasabi with his dismembered foot when he looks at the logo.*
N.B.B: Order up I-I-I-I have to go home!
*Gogo zooms in only to notice she is skating in ketchup. N.B.B throws a mailbox to her to which Wasabi slices in half before it could hurt Gogo.*
Gogo: Gross...*Notices foot prints* wait. Home is Krei Tech...Hiro!
*Gogo quickly calls Hiro but his phone sadly died while he was working so he barely noticed. Mizuchi noticed how tired Hiro looked so he picks him up and carries him on his shoulders.*
Hiro: Whoa! Hey Mizuchi!
*the tall man doesn't respond as she continues on his way, ignoring his own call when it comes from his daughter. When they got there they are asked to review something from Krei.*
Krei: Be honest, which is better, smile one or smile two?
*But before either could answer, N.B.B bursts through the door.*
N.B.B: Hello! Did somebody order a noodle burger?!
Krei: *peeking from Mizuchi* No, I ordered a cappuccino.
Mizuchi: In translation, macchiato.
N.B.B: Honey I'm home! I need all the fixings!
Hiro: Home...because he's not functioning and needs to be fixed! He's come back to where he was made!
Mizuchi: And here I thought he was an alien.*Dad Sarcasm*
N.B.b: Ding ding, dignity ding ding!
Krei: But, I don't know how to fix you, I'm management that only dabbles in electric engineering.
N.B.B: No problem mister! *To Hiro* He does! He's the order to go!
Krei: We're not going anywhere! I'm calling BH7-
*But N.B.B zaps away his phone.*
Krei: So... where to?
*Mizuchi immediately punches N.B.B forward to which he lands across the room.*
Mizuchi: Run! I'll be able to hold him off till you can get BH7 here!
Hiro: Got it!
*When N.B.B sees the two escaping, N.B.B uses his running electric shocks to electrocute Mizuchi. And due to him having wires in his body, he quickly goes down and drops unconscious. So when Krei and Hiro run out they are puked on by N.B.B and dragged to the N.B.B factory.*
N.B.B: Get ready to put on the fry works , where the magic happens!
*Hiro is forced to be in the controller room with N.B.B as the bot placed Krei at the beginning roster of making a noodle burger.*
N.B.B: Time to fry the buns!
*Soon he activates the roster where its shown the makings of a noodle burger, and on the beginning of the conveyer belt is Krei, who is soon covered by noodles.*
Krei: This cannot by sanitary.
*Hiro tries to stop the machine, only to have the controllers busted by N.B.B... then the exit slammed shut. In all other words, Hiro is trapped.*
N.B.B: You're not going anywhere Hee hee.
Hiro: This is crazy! Noodle Burger Boy, let Krei go and lets just talk about it,
N.B.B: After you fix my burger, I'll let that burger go!
*With no other choice as time is running short, hiro quickly starts fixing up noodle burger boy.*
Hiro: OK, let me take a look. *Looks inside N.B.B's head* Salt water corroded your logic circuits.
*Meanwhile the team finally decided to show up rather than wait for an answer. Cora runs in, not caring about tactful planning at the moment since both her boyfriend and father are in serious danger. When she reaches to Krei's office she sees her father unconscious.*
Cora: Papa!
*The gang catch up as they see Cora run off the giant slowly rising from his slumber.*
Mizuchi: Ugh.. my head..
Cora: Papa what happened?
Mizuchi: The burger bot came in and told Hiro he wants him to fix his head. Krei tried to call for help but you know... this happened. I told them to run away...
Cora: But its most likely that Noodle burger boy got them. He could be in trouble.
Fred: *Noticing behind him.* Uh guys.. we might be in trouble.
*Its there that the team and Mizuchi are face to face with Trina, with a new look and in a mecha suit.*
Trina: Ya think?
Baymax: Hello Trina.
Trina: Hey Baymax
*And soon one by one, she stops Gogo, Baymax, Wasabi, Honey Lemon, Fred and Cora.*
Fred: Quick question Trina, did you change your hair? Last I checked Cora said you were a robot.
Trina: True *To Cora* You and I are gonna have a little chat. Later!
Mizuchi: *Growls!*
*Soon afterwards Trina and Mizuchi rolled through the streets fighting as Cora is dropped to the ground and quickly scrambles them up by shaking them.*
Cora: Come on! Get your butts up and lets move!
Baymax: Everyone else is suffering form a concussion. They will not wake in a few hours.
Cora: Dang it!
*And so Cora has to hop on Baymax and fly off to the direction of the fight.*
Hiro: Hang on Krei! I'm almost done fixing him!
*While Krei is attempting to save himself, Hiro is continuing doing the repairs on N.B.B. until he is finally fixed.*
N.B.B: Aw thanks mister! I feel really swell!
Hiro: I just have to reboot you and the fixes will be permanent.
N.B.B: Don't mess with my order mister, or your friend will be crispy style.
Krei: Hurry up Hiro!
Hiro: This is the last step Noodle Burger boy! I promise!
Krei: Whatever it is! Do it now!
*Hiro looks at the back and finds an old chip.*
Hiro: Obake's chip.
*But before he could touch it, Trina zapped his hand.*
Trina: Hands off Hamada!
Hiro: Trina?!
Trina: I gave myself an upgrade, I just tried on your friends and your girlfriend. I've been trying to find my little brother for days, we've been close you know. ever since you and your stupid girlfriend destroyed our home and killed our father!
Hiro: You consider Noodle burger boy as your brother?
Trina: Says the kid who hangs out with a walking hugging marshmallow. But on the plus side...
*Trina pulls up Mizuchi, his hands struggling to free himself as Trina's claws tightened around him.*
Trina: We're gonna get even.
Cora: Well this marshmallow is gonna get you both burned!
*Soon Baymax with Cora on top punches Trina and N.B.B to a wall and knocks them out of the park.*
Krei: Stop standing there and save me!
*Hiro immediately runs out and grabs onto a crane and grabs Krei before he could be considered Kentucky fried chicken.*
Krei: Thanks Hiro!
*Just then they hear the loud crash of the wall crashing to see Trina and N.B.B walking out.*
N.B.b: Toodle noodles!
Baymax: they have escaped.
Krei: Well, if your obvious bot is finished, get me out of here.
Cora: Right away sir.
*After a lengthy drive home and getting the team healed up with Kaguya's tea, the gang meet up at the Café where they discuss over last night's events.*
Wasabi: So I guess Trina and Noodle Burger Boy are a team now?
Fred: Oh yeah, classic phase two super villain team up.
Gogo: Phase two?
Fred: Defeating Obake was the epic conclusion to phase one of the Big Hero-verse. Now-
Gogo: Uh uh. Nevermind.
Cora: And need I remind you that Obake turned out to be my uncle... who is now living at my house...and today is the day I have to move back in...
Honey Lemon: Oh! Right!... Cora... are you sure about this? You can spend some time with us if you want.
Cora: That's appreciated honey Lemon...but I did tell Liv Amara that I first have to go through family issues... and better now then never...
Hiro: How about we go together? That way you don't have to face him alone.
*Cora smiles at Hiro before she hugs him tightly. Soon they all arrive at the door of her house, where the soft noises of tea is heard as Cora looks at the door. She turns to the gang who then nod at her to open. And when she does she sees Kaguya making green tea with Kage, sitting down as he reads a book. He looks up to see Cora at the doorway, the rest of the gang behind her far enough to not be spotted but close enough to see what is going on inside. Cora slowly walks in as she looks at the two adults. Kaguya turns to see Cora look at Kage and for a moment held her breath as Cora walks over...to sit on the opposite side of the table. Cora then grabs a plate of piles it with Ube Cookies she bought from the super market and places it in the middle, with the teen girl eating one cookie. Kage blinks in shock, looking at Kaguya for help, looking at his Baymax for help. But seeing nothing actually bad happening... he decides to take a deep breath and just simply enjoy this quiet company. As did the team outside, who walk away, with Hiro softly smiling at the house. At least for now, Cora is safe.*
A.N: And that's Intern About! I'm sorry its such a mess! School and mixed up premiers leave a dent on your writing, especially since you'll be spinning around at midnight, anyway, love you all and thank you for following BH7! I hope you enjoy this belated chapter!

When you spend these premiums, you are doing so with the belief that when and if your time and effort of need comes, your insurer can pay you fairly and may provide you with all the benefits promised within the policy. Unfortunately, sometimes an insurance company won't live up to its end from the bargain. When this occurs, it's call an insurance attorney for legal help.
There are generally five main reasons which could indicate the call to retain a personal injury attorney to handle your case following a car crash. If these things five things occur, It is strongly advised that you simply check with a trauma attorney to safeguard your rights - most injury attorneys provide a free no-obligation consultation, so you don't have to pay anything unless help you recover on your injuries.
Secondly, people believe these lawyers are extremely expensive and they also don't give their customers much attention because they are working on a lot of cases. It is true that you have a lot of people, who're available just to make money. But it's also correct that its not all lawyers are similar to this. There are some very honest lawyers in the industry, whose sole issue is to represent their client and have them the compensation they deserve. The most dedicated and committed lawyers are the types, who divide their time fairly between each of their cases. They are genuinely concerned about winning all their clients' cases and be sure that no industry is treated unfairly. As far as the fee with the lawyer is worried, people also believe it will be too costly to rent a lawyer because all of them charge quite high fees. It's true the fees can be high, in case you think about it, there isn't any situation that is incredibly cheap for just about any individuals currently. There are some lawyers who charge some reasonable fees to the services they're offering. In addition to that, some lawyers may even will give you flexible mode of payment or could supply you with some concessions too. This depends from lawyer to lawyer.
Be careful what you say right after the accident as these words could possibly be considered in relation to filing your case. Your personal injury lawyer will probably advice that speaking with others, who might be charged to your injury, without her or his consent may be harmful to your case and, because of this, may advise against it. Try to keep your conversations concerning the accident to a minimum try to be clear that you have been injured so you will be trying to find medical assistance after you have been injured within an accident. Stating that you're okay or fine after an accident could end up hurting you afterwards once you have filed your claim having a lawyer.
Your lawyer will carry the weight of the challenges, directing your self on the most effective path to take, correctly calculating what you're owed, and fighting to suit your needs problem, if you need to. You yourself will be shielded from all of these stressful activities, and will still reap the primary benefits, that gives the finest chance to recover the damages inflicted upon you and to go onto the most your daily life.

Border Wall: I’ll give Trump one, and then another
Maybe Trump has a plan for the border wall. I will give him the opportunity to espouse it. And I hope he takes it. Maybe he should spend time explaining to the independents and undecideds how his border wall fits into the big picture. Maybe he can give us a comprehensive immigration reform package along with it. All in all he should.
So, Mr. President to help you give us a plan I will frame some ideas I have. Feel free to run with them.
Immigration reform has popped up as an issue infrequently, yet enough times to actually mean something to the political body of these United States. And we really do need reform. For example, have you seen how many different types of cards immigrants, refugees, temporary workers, permanent residents, temporary residents are handed out by the State Department in general. And it breaks down into subtypes for some of these categories. Once you receive one card for residence the immigrant works their way through hoops to become either a permanent resident or possibly even a citizen.
If you are curious, here are a few websites you would need to research to get started.
https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/us-visas/immigrate/the-immigrant-visa-process.html
https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/us-visas/visa-information-resources/all-visa-categories.html
https://ar.usembassy.gov/visas/what-to-expect-after-your-visa-is-approved-and-issued/
And this is just a walk through of various sites a person would have to navigate if they want to come here. And by no means is this everything. Do the internet search.
Consolidating just some of this process will be helpful to people wanting to come here, yet it would also be helpful to the people who must manage this program.
And then you need to manage the different types of groups, individuals, refugees, workers students, tourists, asylum seekers, people who want to live here and become citizens.
So as part of this process lets break down some of the categories and talk about what we want to do with each group and afterwards discuss border security. The “Wall” in your parlance Mr. President.
This is not an all-inclusive solution for all problems discussion. This is a rough draft of some ideas our Congress and you should be developing instead of hacks like me.
I think we can agree many people want to come here and live, hopefully experiencing the greatness of our country and the Constitution. We want to grant this opportunity to people who want to come here and contribute. Our nation is great because of the diverse groups of people who have migrated here, found success, and raised families instilling in them the virtues and values upon which we are founded.
Do we make it harder than before to become a citizen to maybe limit the number of people entering our country? Do we open up more? I think that is a question our Representatives need to ask their constituents to get a feel. And then bring their answers to DC to begin the process of the whole reform.
Procedurally it must be easier. We should break down the categories into:
People applying for permanent residence and/or citizenship should have the same criteria, same application, and well same red tape. And right now this is pretty similar. The goal becomes how stringent do we make the qualifications to apply. One card, one process, one group with our government to manage them and keep track of them.
The next group(s) get a bit trickier. Let’s make refugees and asylum seekers the second priority. Why? I think we need to define what we consider potential eligible refugees and asylum seekers in advance. We lay out the criteria in general and so anytime there is a crisis around the world, our State Department can apply to Congress for people under this situation to become eligible to apply. The process becomes the same no matter where they come from once the situation is pronounced to meet the criteria. Every single person from everywhere gets the same card, has the same restrictions, must follow the same rules, and must contribute to finding a solution to get them back to their country of origin. We do not have to and maybe we shouldn’t offer blanket citizenship or permanent residents to a refugees at all. They can eventually apply via the process determined for residency, but have to meet the criteria established with the first group above. And each year the State Department would come to Congress and prove there is still a need for the group in question to still fit under refugee or asylum seeker status. Congress keeps passing laws for all sorts of situations. We need to have one shoe to fit all feet so to speak. And have it reviewed every year. And with predetermined criteria built into the system, this annual process should be somewhat cookie cutter and also allows flexibility throughout the year when a crisis develops. Once a scenario is determined to be safe again, our State Department begins the process of repatriating the refugees. Yes, this will incur some tax payer expense, but allows the government to better manage the flow of people becoming citizens in general and people overstaying their time. More on this when I discuss border security.
The third major group is temporary workers. And this category encompasses a wide range of possible applicants, yet the same procedural philosophy can be applied. All people wanting to be a temporary worker uses the same application, goes through the same sub-group within our government, follows the same rules and restrictions as all within this group, and has an exit strategy with one exception which I will come to. The rules here apply to anyone wanting to work here either on a short or long term basis. The only different group would be people who work here year in and year out for seasonal or contracted work, yet go home for part of the year. They follow all other rules except they do not have an exit time frame. In days gone by, the term migrant farm workers might come to mine, yet we would be a bit more expansive. The exit time frame can be years from application, yet they are not here to become citizens or permanent residents and only for those hired by companies for job specific purposes. Here are some proposed rules for their employment. First there is modified minimum wage requirements. And this is especially important for the seasonal or temporary permanent workers. It applies to all though. Second, they do not pay income taxes as we know it. Instead they would pay fees based on their income. It would work like our graduated income tax is suppose to work. Income tax is another disaster conversation for another day. I wish people would remember there is a Constitutional Amendment (16) around this topic. For now though I propose a graduated fee for working here on a temporary basis. This fee is withheld from workers paychecks and is used to help fund the Immigration policies, procedures, and personnel the government manages. It isn’t the full budget for immigration, yet helps to offset the costs of the overall program. There are no forms to fill out like a 1040, no refunds, no extra pay at end of year, it is an amount determined as a graduated percentage by the amount of pay. And if pay varies, so does the amount withheld. Also a small portion can be set aside to help employers pay workman’s compensation which also has limited benefits, yet allows the temporary worker full medical coverage for injuries on the job. They do not pay into or earn social security. They do not receive unemployment benefits and if there job tenure ends early they still need to leave early. Employers have three responsibilities, one if they hire illegals fines are much higher than they are now and possible jail time could be explored, two, they must report if the employee is no longer working to the appropriate government group and give last address, contact and family info known to them. A 2b would be they need to update the temporary workers info regularly, and three they make sure they comply with fee withholding and sending to the government. Enforcement comes from the fees collected by the employers.
Next group is student visas. This can be real cut and dry. I am open about them being allowed part time employment while students, but face same rules as the temporary workers for the employment. Second the school is responsible for their information being updated with the government once they graduate or leave school. They can apply to go to a different school, but that must be approved with the same process as their original application to study here. The cannot arbitrarily change schools.
There are other categories, but this is a good over view of what can be done, still allow immigrants, yet manage our resources. And if you didn’t catch it, each category has its own subgroup within the State Department’s umbrella. This allows the government worker to get to know and better understand the groups they are managing.
Border security would be part of the mix in the comprehensive reform to be passed by Congress. And let’s talk categories of people that cause problems under the theme of border security. You can generalize and say anyone not meeting the criteria established in the immigration reform is an illegal alien and can be deported immediately. For now we will talk about the more infamous situations.
Drug smugglers and drugs being imported into our country. I am not going to address this because my ideas are so controversial that saying we need to make marijuana legal is the least controversial part of the program. There are an enormous amount of players involved that would need to be brought into the negotiations and there is too much detail for this post which is already running long. One benefit is the chance for Mexico to develop a larger middle class once the program is fully established. Mexico having a stronger middle-class was one of the selling points of the original NAFTA, yet corporate greed killed that so we need to follow through if this proposal comes to fruition.
What about all the bad guys Mr. President? I agree we need to be tougher. I think if an illegal or even legal immigrant breaks the law they have two choices. Serve full time for the crime as any citizen of the US would or be deported. No plea bargain and no time off for good behavior, they receive max time under the law once found guilty of any crime, then they get sent home. No appeal. If they come back, even without committing another crime, if found would serve twice the adjudicated sentence with no chance to go home until the full sentence is served. This may sound harsh to some, yet this is where the average citizen has a right to feel protected in their homes and in this country. This is the law, no exceptions.
People caught smuggling humans into the country, Smugglers get full prison term and the people smuggled are treated as refugees with immediate determination of their home situation to see if it meets the criteria determined as outlined above. If no crisis in their home country, they are sent home via the same process as refugees who are determined not to be given refugee status anymore.
And in general we build a better tracking system for all people entering our country for their benefit and ours. When their time is up they have “X” amount of time to return home. If they do not return timely, our government can seize assets to pay for their return home. Sounds harsh, but if we want to have a successful immigration policy that allows a vibrant interchange of culture and people we must protect ourselves against people overreaching or taking advantage of the situation. Everyone has time to leave respectfully, but there is a limit. Our government is given their information routinely by employers etc, so there is no excuse or there are penalties for failure to comply.
These are just a few examples of developing a broad immigration reform policy, yes that might sound harsh on the surface, but if managed openly, transparently, and gives people the chance to become permanent residents or work here as wanted or needed we should embrace them being here. It is up to us as citizens to teach and show them our culture and our values in a positive way to make their experience beneficial for the short or long duration.
See Mr. President you can have immigration reform and not spend one dime on a wall that is counter productive to the growth of our nation. Remember for over 400 years that area of the world has been in flux from exploration to the mix of people enjoying life, sharing culture and trade, a moving boundary that is arbitrary at best, and one that for generations actually means nothing because it is all family. Maybe it is only important to decide the most basic of necessities, but if you live, work, or play on the Southwest border you know how wonderful this part of the world can be if you treat the area and all the people with respect. Problems can be solved if you define and identify the problem and leave what works alone.
Cheers.

What General Liability Insurance Does Not Cover
If you are starting a business, if you own a business, or you need insurance for your enterprise because you are often hosting to strangers, then you need general liability insurance. If you run a business, you may use this type of insurance to cover medical expenses, attorney fees, and damages you are legally responsible for. Think of it as insurance for yourself. As insurance that can cover you for legal defense costs, even if it was all your fault, as well as offering protection for judgments, court costs, and things of that nature. What General Liability Insurance Does Not Cover It is not a variety of insurance that covers your employees. It doesn’t cover injury to your employees, nor does it cover the mistakes that your employees make. This is not a variety of insurance for anything automobile-related. Even if it involves cars parked on your property. This insurance doesn’t cover intentional acts, which is different from acts that are your fault. If there is an accident, and even if the accident is your fault and you are being sued, then general liability insurance will cover you. However, if it is found that the problem was your fault because of something you intentionally did, then that is not something for which you will receive cover. Get Full Details From Your Insurer As you can imagine, each insurer has its own version of general liability insurance and each covers different things. If you find a very cheap policy, it may be that the policy covers very little, or that the upper limits on payouts are very low. As the insurer is selling to you, they should be pointing out what your insurance covers, but make sure you nail down exactly what it doesn’t cover. Try To Get A Customized Insurance Policy There are some policies that may cover your business very well and very easily, and that is fine. However, if you are having trouble finding something that works, try to figure out a customized policy. Just be careful because hybrid policies and such may end up costing more. For example, you may run your ice cream van at a certain location for most of the summer, but sometimes you may want to drive it to the streets. If that is the case, then a hybrid general insurance policy may seem like a good idea. Perhaps something that covers you for being located in one area, but also covers you while driving around the streets. However, in these cases, it may simply be better to have a regular general insurance policy and then use temporary insurance on the days you go out driving. Find A Good Insurer It doesn’t matter what type of insurance you buy if you are buying from a poor-quality insurer. It would be like accepting a promise from a liar. Above all, no matter what your needs are with regard to general liability insurance, you need to find a good insurer who offers good value and a fair price. You need a company like Mona’s Insurance, where you can find a good deal on your insurance, for a price that suits your budget.
