Just got back in touch with a coworker/friend from my previous job. Apparently I was right to jump ship when I did, lol. They're having to go into the office 3 days a week now (when I was there it was only 2). They also keep taking on more work despite not hiring new people (leading to a bigger and more stressful workload for everyone) and they've restructured a lot.

Meanwhile I'm getting paid $9 an hour more than I was there, am in a fully remote work environment, am actually appreciated by my company and coworkers, and my workload and stress is way less than it was there. You know, I was fucking pissed when I was basically pushed out of my last job due to shitty coworkers, but it was honestly the nicest thing they could have done for me!

Small IRL Update

So my supervisor disrespected me for the last time last week (long story, doesn't really matter, it's been a pattern of bad behavior the entirety of the almost 3 years I've been with this department. This time was just the straw that broke the camel's back.)

The good news is, I got pissed-off enough to finally sign up for a class to get my medical coding certification. It's self-paced and online through my alma mater, where I got my Bachelor's degree 8 years ago. In 6-12 months I'll be working from home, setting my own schedule, and earning 50% more than I do right now without the inter-office politics and petty bullshit!

Suck on that, "Boss," I'm pulling a Charles Smith and turning my indignant rage into personal growth! 😈

As much as I enjoy working at my current workplace for the most part (as much as you can enjoy work) what drives me mad is whenever I ask for help or guidance with something I'll get brushed off with "you know how it works" like, if I did, I wouldn't be asking, and no, showing me once is not really enough for me to feel confident enough to do it myself especially if that one time was forever ago! And other times noone has even showed me yet and then they ask me how I managed to not know something by now?? Like sorry guys but how was I meant to know if noone even showed me?? Like that usually comes from the person meant to teach the apprentices which drives me especially mad because they didn't teach me these things as an apprentice so of course I still don't know them by now?? And letting me do whatever is not very helpful at a doctor's office, for my patients sake and mine

Work drama!

So the old guy that was fucking on a teenager got demoted. They put this stud in charge, she use to be old guy assistant/2nd in charge.

Tell me why she walked out tonight at 3:30am. Left with the door wide open and unlocked, no alarm which is a hazard.

No one even noticed she was gone. My boss had to call me from her house phone (I blocked her cell phone and I’m about to block her house phone, didn’t know people still had them) to tell me that the alarm company was calling her because the alarm isn’t set.

So I set the alarm and I go look for the stud like why you leave the alarm off.

That bitch is ghost bro. So I go to my office and pull up time cards, she clocked out.

I checked the camera, she walked out and went to her truck and never came back.

So I go ask her crew, y’all seen stud? And they like nah.

So my boss was like well just run the crew I’ll be there at 6am. Girl fuck you and this crew. I told her that I won’t be doing that seeing as it ain’t my job.

I also had to remind her that they (not her but the company I work for) Decided they I didn’t deserve a bonus this year. You know who did get a bonus? Old man, stud and my boss.

Not only do they make more than me, they got a 3k bonus less that 6 weeks ago. And my boss bonus was easily 10k or more. Her bonus during the height of Covid allowed her to buy both her college age kids brand new card off the lot cash.

I’m not going out my way to help anyone who doesn’t help me or anyone who gets paid more than me. I stay in my lane where I’m paid to be.

Anyway my boss gotta get out of bed and she probably get here around 5ish to handle her shit.

And side note cuz it needs to be said. Stud at all didn’t deserve this position. She is not a leader, she doesn’t know how to communicate who those who work under her. She comes to work drunk and late all the time (yes I be at work high but my job is done and I’m never late). She only got this job because her and my boss are friends.

So boss lady come help your fucking friend.
