#22 JESUS CURSES THE FIG TREE
When the Lord told me that I was living by my emotions, I realized the devil was running my life by speaking words to my mind and I was reacting to the feelings those words caused. So the answer is to clear my mind of the demonic strongholds and start taking all my thoughts captive. But there is another step which must be done.
Since words are spirit, they are eternal. The words we speak have sound here on the earth where there is an atmosphere and we have vocal chords. But the words we speak will be going on forever into the universe bearing fruit because of their spiritual nature. Many years ago I learned that there is a principle in the Bible which can be applied to the words we speak. In Matthew 21:19-22 Jesus teaches us that if we have faith and do not doubt, we shall receive what we ask. Before He says this He has come upon a fig tree hoping to find fruit because He was hungry. Because there was none, He cursed the fig tree and said it would never more bear fruit. In His explanation to the disciples He mentions what happened to the fig tree that He had cursed. The same principle could be used to say to a mountain to be cast into the sea. If we have faith and do not doubt what we ask, we shall have it. Words can be cursed from the roots to the fruit and their affects cancelled. There are so many words in the spiritual realm which are not from God that need to be eliminated every day. To curse anything is to draw out the life from that object or words.
The enemy uses words against us constantly. It is like they are in incubation and we will see the fruit later. Words spoken long ago are still in there doing damage. Many things have been decreed over our lives. An example of how he can twist them to hurt us is the word “break.” When we say, “I need a break,” we are meaning a rest or vacation, but the enemy causes a broken bone. He will twist the definitions of words to suite his wishes and cause damage to us. What words has the enemy gotten you to say out of your mouth about yourself? Has he influenced you to call yourself stupid or dumb or useless? Well, those words are having an effect on your soul. The soul cannot tell when something is from the holy realm or the unholy realm. It believes whatever is spoken to it and receives many demons that way. And you wind up living those words as your reality. Out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks. What you believe is what comes out of your mouth. In that way we can identify many of the demons in the hotel of your soul. We need to watch words from others’ mouths as well. Be careful who and what you listen to each day.
We must go after the demonic conditions and circumstances in our lives and curse them at the roots declaring no more ungodly fruit. Words from the Holy Spirit can declare and decree over our daily lives exactly what we want. We can speak to our days and proclaim the peace of God over them. We can declare that they will run smoothly and come against the methods and schemes of the enemy. We can “come against” the plans of the enemy by being on the offensive with forward motion. Don’t wait for the enemy to take over. Stop him and his demons before they get a chance to steal from us. Speak God over your day and the power of the Holy Spirit. And do it all in the Name of Jesus. At the Name of Jesus every knee shall bow in heaven and on the earth and under the earth. We can walk in victory and getting our mouths in line with God’s will is the best place to start. Our words have creative power. Speak them out boldly. Believe and decree out of faith, not fear. We have the authority and must be bold. Our battle is not against flesh and blood. Speak out God’s truth into the universe and live as a conqueror.

#21 MORE ABOUT WORDS - THE HARVEST
Jesus spoke to His disciples in a parable which is recorded in Matthew 13 and Mark 4 about the sower and the soils. We will look at the Mark 4 version. In verses 3 – 9, Jesus tells the story of the sower who sowed his seeds on four kinds of soil and what happened to each sowing. The first soil was the side of the road where seeds fell and birds ate them. The second soil was rocky ground where there was not much soil. The seeds sprang up quickly, but had no depth of soil and the sun scorched it easily. There were no roots and the plants died. The third soil was full of thorns. The seeds which fell there were choked and there was no crop. The fourth kind of soil was good soil. The seeds which fell there grew and produced a crop thirty, sixty, and a hundredfold.
In verses 14 – 20 Jesus explains the meaning of the parable. He equates the seeds to words. He says that the first soil is like sowing our words beside the road and Satan comes immediately and steals them. This is very similar to the second soil where the words are sown on rocky places. In this example those who hear immediately receive the word with joy. But they have no firm root in themselves. They have only temporary roots and when affliction and persecution arise because of the word they fall away. Again Satan steals the words. The third soil is full of thorns. These are the ones who have heard the word and the worries of the world, the deceitfulness of riches, and the desire for other things enter in and choke the word. It becomes unfruitful. Then the fourth soil is good soil and these people hear the word and accept it and bear fruit, thirty, sixty, and a hundredfold.
Simply put, words are spirit. They are like seeds. And you will reap what you sow. How do we sow? We open our mouths and speak. Remember thought precedes emotion which dictates action. You think, you feel, you act. We were told to take every thought captive. Why? Because thoughts are coming into our minds all the time and we are feeling them and acting on them all the time. What if they are from the unholy realm? What kind of emotions are the demons trying to stir in us? Anything they initiate will be ungodly even if it seems ok. The devil comes as an angel of light. Everything he says is evil. So we hear the seeds/words he plants in our minds, we feel something about that and we act accordingly. Speaking his words will have an effect in our lives. All our words have an effect in our lives at some point. It may not show up right away, but you can count on the fact that the harvest will be coming in the future. We are all living the result of words from our pasts, be they from 10 minutes ago or from 10 years ago. The verse in Proverbs says we will eat the fruit of our lips.
We cannot leave out another basic aspect of the parable which has not been discussed yet. The soil represents the condition of the soul or heart of the recipient of the seeds or words being spoken. The words Jesus is discussing are words of life from the holy realm. The different types of soil indicate how the words are going to be received and/or believed and what ultimately will become of those words in the soul of the hearer. There are two soils which are not going to receive the words of life at all because Satan will steal both. The first is not even given a chance to be planted and grow as Satan steals them immediately. That person has no fertile ground at all. The second is open to a degree when first hearing the truth or word, but they have no depth of soil or root system and the first rays of the sun scorch the plant and it dies. This person is said to even respond with joy, but has no understanding to aid in growth, and once again the enemy steals the harvest by killing the positive response to new truth. The third soil is full of thorns which choke out the word or seeds. The thorns are strongholds which have not been addressed or taken care of so the demons are allowed to stay and block the growth of the person spiritually. It is only in the last soil that we see good soil. This person is receptive and actively cultivating truth in their lives and taking care of the demonic intrusion in their souls. They will be able to yield fruit, thirty, sixty, or hundredfold for themselves and the Kingdom of God.
I believe that when we see the words in red in the Bible we should probably pay attention to them. Jesus always spoke words of life and He spoke what the Father told Him to say. We need to speak words of life as well. Harvest is coming.

Short Post: The Power of Words
Words are spirit and they are either words of life or words of death. Words are like seeds and there will be a harvest from the words we speak or with which we come into agreement. Therefore, put a watch on your ears, what you hear, and on your mouth, words which you speak. There will be a consequence. You will reap what you sow! The enemy is sowing into your life by your own mouth! Repent and change that. Speak words of life!

Especially now our words can help or hinder a positive outcome to the situation in the nation and the world. God has provided everything we will ever need. Jesus gave us righteousness (2 Cor 5:21), health (1 Peter 2:24), and finances (2 Cor 8:9) on the cross. He redeemed us and reconciled us to God. #teachings, #30, #31, 32.
