for a more collected opinion on the utah reveal i.. honestly think it fits. l'manburg, wilbur joining the server, tommy and wilburs brother bits, it was all jokes. it was bits and improv where they could do fucking hamilton roleplay and pretend potions were drugs and yeah, it got a little serious. so so much of cwilburs story is serious, even with the utah reveal theres serious moments and arguments before and after, ctommy takes the reveal seriously himself. and honestly like

it really is crack treated seriously. thats the dream smp. is it full of meaningful narratives and often amazing writing that speaks to real issues? for sure! but theyre also doing minecraft roleplay where twitch streaming is canon and two of the most important items on the smp are easily replacable music discs and theres a ravine called goddamn pogtopia because of the pogchamp emote. and so so much of lmanburgs history started from brits and americans making fun of each other. so yeah.

i think cwilbur having been american this whole time and him being weirdly cryptic and raising death flags just for him to have wanted to go back to utah is.. funny. it was funny and it sounds ridiculous on the surface but i think that fits cwilbur. hes a very deep and nuanced character with arcs about mental health, suicide, feeling inherently broken and wanting to leave behind a good and kindhearted legacy even when so much of what you left behind was pain and hurt towards your loved ones.

and hes from fucking utah and pretended to be british the whole time all for his story to end with him boating out into the middle of a fucking river or ocean or whatever then getting magically teleported back home. its treated as serious and heartbreaking and it is also. really. really fucking funny
