ok but legitimately i think the reason why kids aren’t taking internet safety seriously is because the people who are telling us not to put our personal information out seem so out of touch. no one acknowledges the possibility of meeting very real teenaged friends online, they always say that everyone you meet is a 40 year old white man in disguise. because they aren’t acknowledging things we know are true, it becomes a lot easier to dismiss the rest of what they’re saying as well. internet safety lessons absolutely must keep up with the times and acknowledge the internet’s capacity for good if you want kids to take to heart warnings about its capacity for bad.

TODAY, August 12, 2024, The Animation Guild begins negotiations with the AMPTP to win a new contract for animation. This is a huge fight with severe stakes for the future of the Animation Industry in the US, and the guild needs your support!

TAG is fighting, Right Now, to stop exploitative practices that are weaponized against animation professionals across the globe, and working hard to ensure this industry has a future here in the states.

If you are a fan of animation, whether it's major or independent studios, eastern or western, tv or movies, we need you to get LOUD in support of The Animation Guild. The crews who work so hard to bring these works to life are struggling to pay their bills, if they can find work at all, while studio CEOs are getting multi-million dollar raises to cancel projects and gut streaming libraries.

Truly cannot fathom how advertising is a billion dollar a year industry. It's all downward costs and pointless waste.

A company spends $1,000,000 a year paying code writers and websites to basically install Trojan viruses on any piece of hardware that comes into contact with them so that they can scrape your data and algorithmically shit ads all over your internet space, they spend $2,000,000 paying digital artists and washed-up celebrities to make the most tone deaf, annoying, soulless pieces of advertising, and then another $3,000,000 buying up every fucking billboard and building and park bench and TV screen and magazine and fucking painted side of a dog all for, what, 20 new customers? Per year? Where the fuck is the money coming from? What is generating revenue? All these dickheads are doing is passing the same money around, exchanging stolen info for shit advertisements and vice versa to do nothing but make life more hostile and annoying to the average person.

I literally, as a person sitting in my own home, cannot even look completely around my room and not see an advertisement for something. And I live in a somewhat rural area! I visited San Francisco a few weeks back and I fully believe living in a place like that, one that fully sees you as nothing more than potential profit to be exploited and extracted would make me so insane that I'd combust with enough force to fully level 18 city blocks.

How people can mistakenly think or just subconsciously feel food works: there are “unhealthy” foods like pizza or fried chicken and “healthy” foods like fruit salad or steamed vegetables. Every time you eat an “unhealthy” food you’ve harmed yourself in some way.

How food actually works: foods contain carbs, proteins, fats, sugars, vitamins, minerals, fiber and/or other nutrients. Your body needs and uses all of them but it would like to have a little of everything every day. If you ate pizza or fried chicken for lunch then that’s probably your fat and protein for the day with extra that your body will make use of in time, so it’s a good idea to make your next meal something different like that fruit salad or steamed veggies. You can have that fatty lunch every single day if you just maintain balance and stay active enough to actually use what you’re stocking up on because foods aren’t “good or bad;” they just either fit into the rest of your diet and lifestyle or they don’t.
