Euclid Avenue Christian Church (East Mt. Zion Baptist Church)
9990 Euclid Ave.
Cleveland, OH
On July 4, 1843, members of the Disciples of Christ Church in Euclid met in a maple grove near Euclid Avenue and E. 105th Street and voted to form their own congregation. The congregation met in homes until 1848, when a church was constructed on Euclid Avenue between Doan (now E. 105th St.) and Republic (now E. 101st St.). The congregation moved into a new building at 9990 Euclid Avenue in 1908. This structure was designed by architects George Kramer and C.C. Hamilton. The J.R. Lamb Studios designed the interior woodwork and stained glass windows. The exterior is faced with green serpentinite stone from Chester County, Pennsylvania.
The Romanesque Revival exterior features Syrian-style archways over doors and windows, and a coarse-ashlar finish. The interior woodwoork is all oak. The interior is based on the "Akron Plan", a popular style at the time. This permitted the Sunday School walls to fold back so that the larger crowds could hear the service. The builders were Skeel Bros. of Cleveland. Euclid Avenue Christian Church moved to Cleveland Heights in 1955, and sold the building to East Mt. Zion Baptist Church. East Mt. Zion became the first African American church to hold services on Euclid Avenue. The structure was added to the National Register of Historic Places on February 10, 2022.

I use a lot of clamps throughout the building of the cigar box guitars. Building a cigar box guitar is a time-consuming and very tedious process and if you don't pay attention to the detail it will only cause you frustration if the end product has even the smallest sound issue....a buzz, a rattle, a hum. www.snowdenguitars.com

Game Of Thrones - Viserion’s Claw
I absolutely loved watching GoT, that I had to make something, this is what I ended up with
Personally I think it is something special
A multifunctional art piece, The egg and arm light up with a multi flashing led unit, hidden behind glass chunks
And it lets you know the time, having a built in skeleton clock.

ugh, okay, having just gotten through the Guanyin Temple portion of the novel (it hurts me so much), I must say: the choice to cut certain aspects out of that scene for the production of The Untamed, really, really fucks up the coherence of what happens in those two-three episodes.
because what information do we get in the show? 1) there’s a protective array suppressing something inside the temple, and 2) sketchy people are trying to dig something up that they buried under the floor. and both of these things are true! however...
I spent at least two episodes going “you guys!!! why are you not concerned with stopping Jin Guangyao digging up whatever sealed evil in a can weapon he has that’s the source of all the wards you were feeling!!! oh god, okay, whatever’s in the coffin got replaced with NMJ’s body - WHERE THE FUCK IS WHATEVER WAS IN THE COFFIN AND IS IT RUNNING LOOSE NOW???? D:” -- and having that mistaken but entirely predictable assumption for an audience member to make, distracting them and making them wonder why all the good guys’ brains just flew out the window and then why the missing horrible-spirit-creature-thing-being-suppressed issue has been dropped into a plot hole (for! three episodes!!!) -- that’s a problem.
(granted, the book also suffers from not explaining quite soon enough either, so you’re still left with a portion of “why are you all having emotional crises at each other and not trying to figure out what’s getting dug up right now??” but, the issues are at least eventually resolved and not left hanging for the reader.)
like - the item being dug up is the (entirely harmless, non-weaponised, desired for sentimental reasons) coffin & corpse of Jin Guangyao’s mother. the reason for the magical suppression array in the temple is because it’s built over the former site of the brothel Jin Guangyao grew up in and subsequently burnt down, killing a bunch of people in the process and leaving a bunch of angry spirits ready to start crawling out of the woodwoork. that these two facts are distinct from each other, and also provide an explanation for why Jin Guangyao owned that piece of land and kept the deed hidden away to begin with, is kind of important.
and god, even if you can’t or don’t want to include any more discussion/portrayal of sex work in the show than you already have, you can still get across the general idea of those pieces of information and avoid implying that there’s a mystery weapon coming into play that everyone is suddenly ignoring. have someone comment about the suppression array targeting something other than the location the monks are digging in! give Lan Xichen a line that Jin Guangyao had mentioned his mother being buried in Yunping City! actually allow Wei Wuxian to covertly unravel the suppression array while he’s hanging out on the floor as he does in the novel, and let him give a sanitised explanation about resentful energy and the burned building being a boarding house where the other people living there had been abusive to Meng Shi - instead of... whatever weird “you’re being haunted by Nie Mingjue!!!” creepiness he does in the show.
because I mean really. there are plenty of little weird continuity issues that pop up when you try to examine various parts of the show, especially changes made from the book canon... but the incoherence generated by removing these parts of the story is just so egregious, and the only one I can think of that was actively confusing and frustrating to me while I was watching the show. and it didn’t even have to be that way. truly unfortunate.
#James liveblogs books#no good things for the poor sad cultivators#meta#alllllso the fact that Su She cursed Jin Zixun not to frame WWX but just because he hated JZX for being a dick to him#would have been nice if that aspect was included imo bc it would emphasise the random chance of everything involved in that problem#WWX didn't ''earn'' the solution to that riddle (and stumbled into it instead) because it was... never actually about him to begin with#but that's kind of a tangent so eh yeah#Jin Guangyao

Each spring, the Coastal Maine Botanical Gardens offers a dazzling lollapalooza for the senses, more than 300 acres strewn with tulips, native plants, hillsides covered with rhododendrons, perfumy bushels of lavender, and dahlias the size of dinner plates in every color of the rainbow. This year, Boothbay’s garden of earthly delights hosts a species of an entirely new variety: five colossal trolls hewn of recycled wood, created by the Danish sculptor Thomas Dambo.
