most people end up with someone who looks average. thats how averages work. when i see my mutuals who like guys horny on main about a guy who looks average its just kinda a "well im glad youre excited to maybe end up with a guy who looks so fucking normal" moment. every half-decent person deserves someone who squeals in delight when they take their shirt off

I know Tartaglia is, like, canonically bad at archery, but is he so bad that out of three trial runs I had for primos, not a single bow stance ult hit an enemy?

cactus and nutmeg for the ask game if you don't mind! I have a strong sense of what I imagine your house/room would be decorated like but no proof of this (duh) so I'm curious to see if I'm right, honestly
cactus ⇢ something you’re currently learning (about)?
currently reading about the evolution of the human brain/human consciousness (lots of what is the mind/what are thoughts)
nutmeg ⇢ how’s your room/home decorated? do you have a specific theme or style going on?
ohhh i really wonder what you thought my house/room looks like now!
i am currently renting and it's a studio. i have white walls with light wooden floorboards and then a small white table, light grey sofa, and a rather modern no-headboard bed. i like dark wood so i have a dark bookcase and a white overhead lamp with gold inside (both from ikea) tiny little closet kitchen with white, green, pink, and yellow as my main kitchen theme colours. i lean more minimalist than maximalist and i have a large silver mirror leaning on the wall, fairy lights up, and a lot of paintings leaning on the walls instead of hanging because i rent. i keep a lot of floor space clear so i can pace/run/dance around in it. little plants around. lots of green and white for bedding. some black like a floor lamp and my kitchen knives.
my ideal interior style is like nordic minimalism meets fairy core meets dark academia meets new england farmhouse meets irish cottage (for terms that are close when i google them). right now i have a lot of books on the bookcase and floor and on the dark wooden chest that i use to store sweaters and art around and my little portable easel and my little trees and dark furniture contrast with the white walls. and i tend to keep things very clean because i can't concentrate in clutter + i'm allergic to dust!
thank you! 💜💜💜 share how close it was if you want~ 💜

that's not the big lesson from covid, oh my fucking god... best precaution is wearing a mask (ffp2/n95) and those absolutely do help prevent infections. i know that's not the focus of the post, but jeez. what a wrong and dangerous takeaway from the covid pandemic.
also, i'm team take them off.

How to avoid White Room Syndrome
by Writerthreads on Instagram
A common problem writers face is "white room syndrome"—when scenes feel like they’re happening in an empty white room. To avoid this, it's important to describe settings in a way that makes them feel real and alive, without overloading readers with too much detail. Here are a few tips below to help!
Focus on a few key details
You don’t need to describe everything in the scene—just pick a couple of specific, memorable details to bring the setting to life. Maybe it’s the creaky floorboards in an old house, the musty smell of a forgotten attic, or the soft hum of a refrigerator in a small kitchen. These little details help anchor the scene and give readers something to picture, without dragging the action with heaps of descriptions.
Engage the senses
Instead of just focusing on what characters can see, try to incorporate all five senses—what do they hear, smell, feel, or even taste? Describe the smell of fresh bread from a nearby bakery, or the damp chill of a foggy morning. This adds a lot of depth and make the location feel more real and imaginable.
Mix descriptions with actions
Have characters interact with the environment. How do your characters move through the space? Are they brushing their hands over a dusty bookshelf, shuffling through fallen leaves, or squeezing through a crowded subway car? Instead of dumping a paragraph of description, mix it in with the action or dialogue.
Use the setting to reflect a mood or theme
Sometimes, the setting can do more than just provide a backdrop—it can reinforce the mood of a scene or even reflect a theme in the story. A stormy night might enhance tension, while a warm, sunny day might highlight a moment of peace. The environment can add an extra layer to what’s happening symbolically.
Here's an example of writing a description that hopefully feels alive and realistic, without dragging the action:
The bookstore was tucked between two brick buildings, its faded sign creaking with every gust of wind. Inside, the air was thick with the scent of worn paper and dust, mingling with the faint aroma of freshly brewed coffee from a corner café down the street. The wooden floorboards groaned as Ella wandered between the shelves, her fingertips brushing the spines of forgotten novels. Somewhere in the back, the soft sound of jazz crackled from an ancient radio.
Hope these tips help in your writing!
