Hello, this is Mergen! I read your response to my comment in Ao3 and really, there is no need to apologize, considering that I am also not giving my answer soon. Since you spend more time on tumblr, I decided to respond here, and then I got sucked into your other passages for weeks. Thank you for giving this idea a chance and if you don't mind, I'll throw some more in for you.
Even if the math doesn't work for Souichi to be Shikako's son, you mentioned that you see the solution to the Konoha civil war in Shikadai becoming Hokage, but he is still young and there is no guarantee that he will become strong or respected enough for the title of Hokage to replace Naruto. He will have the support of half the clans, but this is just politics. So I will again turn to your OC Nara and propose to make Souichi Hokage, he is much older and judging by the description, have the will and motivation and intelligence, some can even get Deja View second coming Shikako.
The second idea was inspired by your fic about Shikako meeting Shinki's mother. I love Gaara and Shinki's relationship in canon, the best thing in Boruto, so I want to reunite this duo and while one is not born yet, we need to confirm Schrödinger's Gaara status. Since Shikako is the only one who has the opportunity to continue the search for Gaara without drawing attention to it, without hope ti find him alive, I wondered what could kill Gaara in the desert. After Gelel, he is the strongest being in Suna. So...
...what if he's not dead?
Back in time, when the war is over, his sister recently married Shikamaru and is about to have a child, everything is going well, Suna is strong and the world is at peace. What if Gaara wanted to sign the summoning contract after seeing how well Naruto and the others did with their summons and how effective they were? Perhaps he lost Shukaku and decided to compensate for his fighting strength by becoming a sage. So he uses reverse summoning and moves to some kind of summoning world. Then there are a dozen developments of events to suit your taste:
1. Gaara failed the test, he was eaten and his body will never be found. Dark enough for a primadonna Au to be real but if you go this route I will cry. Just saying.
2. Time flows differently in the world of Summons and for him 12 days may have passed when for others it is 12 years. He returns to meet a much older and tired Kanuro wearing a Kazekage hat.
3. Shikako finds the domen of the summon, which is located in their world, just very well hidden. Gaara either turned into stone and she will save him in her sage mode, or he meditates for a long time to become a sage and didn’t even notice the passage of time. A punch to the jaw from Shikako is part of the reunion.
This may be an unnecessary plot point, but it will clear the air for Gaara's family and friends.Feel free to use the ideas or not, anyway thanks for your attention!
Hello! I’m glad to see you over on tumblr since, like you said, I really am better at responding on tumblr than I am on ao3—but I do still very much appreciate your ao3 comment as well!
I do love your enthusiasm/affection for my silly Nara OC Souichi, I’m glad that he’s endeared himself to someone besides creator, lol. However he’s not actually THAT much older than Shikadai—or, well, I suppose in the world of shinobi he could be considered much older—I’ve mostly been vague about the timeline, but Souichi is 18 and Shikadai is probably 10ish. He’s due to graduate from the Academy soon. So eight years for a shinobi is a lot, I guess, especially so early on in their careers, but I would still consider them the same generation. Additionally, while he has the motivation and intelligence (and quirkiness) he really is “just an average Nara chuunin.” He made chuunin at 16 years old which isn’t BAD per se, but I think in terms of “Hokage potential” is pretty late in regard to making that international name for himself. Additionally, I know I haven’t explicitly said so, but Shikadai is ALSO motivated and intelligent. The way I see it, Shikadai is more similar to Shikako in her more desperate times, than Souichi is to Shikako in her fun relaxed times, and considering this is the bleak!Primadonna AU, it’s that desperate, battle-oriented Shikako that people would be looking for than an eccentric innovator.
Also, Shikadai doesn’t have the strength/power or the respect/influence NOW, as an Academy student, but that is roughly why if I were to write a “how to resolve the situation in Konoha” it would be a Shikadai-centered fic about how he gains that either through missions or over time or by interacting with other will-be-important figures his age.
As for your second idea—actually it was your initial theory about Souichi that made me bring up Shinki in this series, because the way I’ve written him, in my other DoS Shikaara future fic he is raised by Shikako while Kankurou is his clan head. And I realized, with your initial Souichi theory, that Shinki is probably the closest thing to a child that Shikako and Kankurou could feasibly/safely have in this bleak!Primadonna AU. Especially since Shinki, with his confirmable Magnet Release (as opposed to Shikadai with his probable-but-not-tested Magnet Release) would be the Kazekage heir and thus slightly alleviate some of the stress on Shikadai.
In the ficlet in which Shikako meets Areki (made up name for Shinki’s mother because I don’t know if she has one in canon but I kind of assume not considering what the source manga/anime is) Shinki is definitely already alive. It’s also earlier in the timeline than the first installment/ao3-chapter, so Shikako meets Areki when Shinki is probably about 8 (putting Shikadai at about 6?) and then basically adopts both of them and sort of mentors/helps raise Shinki so that he can safely be introduced to the world as the heir to the Kazekage when the time is right (as opposed to putting that target on the back of an untrained child before he’s ready)
But, that’s not your point: Schrödinger’s Gaara. I super agree with you that after Gelel he is the strongest being in Suna. I also agree that he’s probably not dead so much as like… transported elsewhere (or else-when if we’re getting time travel-y with it) or trapped somehow.
I had briefly though of Gelel Empire related things—like, just because the Dead Wastes are where the “heart” of Gelel’s power was, doesn’t mean they didn’t have other sealing arrays elsewhere through their vast empire. Also, considering sandstorms and since Gaara can control sand, it wouldn’t be to surprising if something was uncovered and Gaara went out to investigate it alone since, after all like you said, who could possibly be a threat to him in the desert where he is strongest? And then mumbledy mumbledy he gets transported somewhere (or some-when) and either can’t find his way back, or doesn’t realize how long it’s actually been, or is stuck. (I did, even more briefly, consider a sci-fi vibe, in the sense that Gaara discovers a Stargate or an old Jedi Temple or something like that but abandoned that since it would be bringing in a crossover and huge genre shift to something that already required a lot of implied background/worldbuilding from readers)
But the summoning realm is very good. And I’ve also previously posited that maybe the summoning realm is not necessarily just for summons. Like, perhaps it should more accurately be called the Spirit Realm, because while most of them are summonable creatures that theoretically look like animals, there could be other non-animal/non-contractable spirits there. I think I also considered writing a fic where the Shinigami and other gods kinda lived in that same alternate plane of existence? However, like you said, the summoning contract card is already so plentiful by itself that I don’t necessarily need to throw in spirits.
1) Oh noooooo, don’t eat Gaara! He’s a good lad TT_TT But that is maybe a little too dark for the bleak!Primadonna AU. Like, I know I have Shikamaru being assassinated, but the idea of Gaara being eaten by summons and never found again is just too dark for some reason? The assassination has political causes and ramifications at least D: Gaara in some boss summon’s stomach is noooooooooooo
2) Time flowing differently is almost… ooh… like, if he were to come back after 12 years and it’s just because time flowed differently. Like, obviously it’s not his fault, but I can see how frustrated Kankurou and Temari and Shikako (and maybe even Naruto?) would be with him if it’s like. THIS ALL COULD HAVE BEEN AVOIDED IF YOU HAD JUST COME BACK SOONER. There’s something to be said about those Fair Folklore and similar mythologies about a human going to another world and dancing for a night and then coming back and realizing a century had passed. Like. It’s almost more forgivable if Gaara comes back AFTER Shikadai is an adult (and possibly Hokage) and everything has resolved itself in one way or another because that’s a scale of time that almost seems like—well, there’s nothing he could have done. Versus any time before that would be frustrating. They wouldn’t be mad at him, but god it would be so frustrating.
3) I will always be so fond of Shikaara, so my heart does love the idea that Shikako—who is the only one who can/still believes enough to keep searching for Gaara—does find him trapped somehow (either turned to stone or in a seal or a sand cocoon that was meant to protect him but then backfired, etc etc) and not freeing him with True Love’s Kiss but, like, practical treatment either via Earth chakra or seals or, as you said, a punch to the jaw, lololol.
It’s the mystery of the ages, truly :)
Thanks again for your comment/asks, Mergen!

Temperature Day
prompt by @whump-of-the-month
Thanks @b0amagination for providing an absolute gem in modern literature (I won’t reveal which part of the dialogue it is though 😏)
CW: captivity, freezing, implied creepy/intimate whumper, blind whumpee, mention of past hand whump, swearing, implied character death
~*~
Jonah wrapped his arms around his legs. “It’s getting colder in here.” “Nonsense. The temperature hasn’t changed. You just think it’s colder because you’re not moving.”
“You know I’m right.”
“Just walk around for a bit and you’ll be warm again,” Vincent sighed, slightly annoyed.
“You’re so incredibly funny,” the younger one hissed, “Walking around where? In this tiny fucking room where I can’t even see a thing?”
“Do whatever you want to, as long as you shut up, I’m tired of your complaints… what am I supposed to say? I won’t be able to see a fucking thing ever again! But instead of just sitting around and whining I’m trying to come up with something to get us out of here!” “So? Any plans yet?” Jonah asked sarcastically. “Because you’re just sitting around, doing nothing.”
“Well, I can’t do anything, can I?”
“Are you going to use your blindness as an excuse for everything now? He did horrible things to me as well and I’m still trying to figure out how we can escape this nightmare!”
“Good! That’s all I want you to do!”
“I still can’t do this all on my own!”
“Do what on your own? If you have a plan you should really consider sharing it with me!”
“You know that there’s only one thing we can do.”
“And what might that be, if you don’t mind me asking?” Vincent sounded angry, but at this point, Jonah didn’t mind anymore; what was he supposed to do to him anyway? They had to rely on each other, he wouldn’t even think of hurting his former captive now… So maybe they could actually get away from this place if they worked together.
“I already thought that you wouldn’t have an answer to that,” Vincent snorted when Jonah stayed silent.
“I do.”
“What is it, then? What’s your plan?”
“Wait until Domenic comes back and get his ass.”
“He’s ace, you insensitive prick.”
Jonah’s jaw dropped for a short moment, then he started to cackle - only seconds later, Vincent joined in. They both knew that there was really nothing to laugh about in their current situation, but it felt so good, even if this moment of ease was gone after just a few seconds. They fell silent until the younger one’s curiosity made him speak up again.
“You were joking, right?”
“About what?”
“Him being ace.”
“Nope, he is. Aroace, to be precise.”
“Then why did he… you know…”
“What?”
“He touched me and made… some suggestive comments.”
“Oh, that.”
“Yeah, that. Why did he do that?”
“I guess he just wanted to humiliate you. It’s not a secret that you don’t react well to intimacy.”
“Wonder why..,” Jonah muttered, turning away.
After a moment of silence, Vincent spoke up.
“You were right.”
“What are you talking about?”
“It’s really getting colder.”
“I know.”
“Let’s get up and move around for a moment, I think it’s because we’ve been sitting on the floor the whole time.”
“Huh…”
“Come on, help me up!”
“No, I don’t want to, I- ahhh! What was that for?”
“I told you to help me up.”
“And I said that I don’t want to!”
Vincent hit his arm again, but then he leaned back and rested his head against the wall.
“We have to find a way to stay warm. As soon as possible.”
“What do you mean? Wait- he is decreasing the temperature in here, isn’t he? He- he can do that, right? He’ll let us freeze to death!”
“No!” Vincent interrupted him vigorously; then, way softer, he added: “I don’t think he’d do that.”
“But he could?!”
“Well, technically…”
“Oh my fucking God!”
Overcome by despair, Jonah smashed his fist against the wall, only to cry out in pain; for a second he had forgotten that his wrist had been shattered only a few days ago.
“Stupid boy..,” Vincent whispered and groped for the other man’s hand in the darkness.
He could feel the blood seeping through the bandages and even though he was somehow grateful that Domenic had patched them up after smashing Jonah’s wrist and driving a nail through both their hands, he knew him well enough to realize that this didn’t mean anything. He might still kill them. In a way, Domenic was like a cat that enjoyed playing with its prey until it finally decided to devour it.
“We’re going to die here, aren’t we?”
“Not necessarily.”
“Is there anything we can do to get out?”
“No.”
“But-”
“He’ll come back sooner or later. We’ll just have to stay alive until he does.”
“Oh, is that all we have to do? Stay alive until he’ll get us out of here and subjects us to even more horrible things?” Jonah screeched, panicking now.
“Yes, it is. And we can do that as long as we work together. It’s the only chance we have. Now come on, get over here.”
“What do you want from me?”
“We have to keep each other warm.”
“Not like that.”
“Do you prefer freezing to death?”
“I’m seriously considering it right now.”
“Don’t be such a fool.”
He felt a hand on his sleeve and tried to move away, but the hand was holding him back.
“Let me go!” he hissed, trying to break free, lashing out at Vincent and hurting his hand even more in the process.
“Stop that, just this once - stop it and come over!”
“I don’t want to get near you! It’s all your fault! If you hadn’t kidnapped me-”
“Jonah, shut up, will you? It doesn’t matter now, I’m just trying to get us out of here!”
“You’re the one who got us into this situation in the first place! It’s your fucking house and your fucking friend, why don’t you know how to get out of this fucking cell?”
“Stop swearing!”
“I fucking won’t!!!”
He drew back and curled up in one of the corners and glared at the older man, even though he could barely see him in the darkness.
“You’re going to die if you stay there,” Vincent grunted, wrapping his arms around his knees.
“Good. Can’t wait to finally be through with all of this.”
“Stop saying that, we’ll get out of here. Alive.”
The young man only snorted and leaned his head against the wall. He didn’t care anymore.
~*~
“Jonah.”
“Hm?”
“Don’t fall asleep.”
“I’m tired.”
“I know. But you have to stay awake.”
He turned his face away when he felt an arm around his shoulders, but he was too weak to move, even when he felt the ice cold skin of his captor touch his cheek, the chapped lips too close to his own.
“Stay with me, Jonah…”
So cold. So tired….
Breathing a small sigh, he closed his eyes.

@anbu-legacy
Thoughts on Welcome Home, Losers
What’s up it’s been forever and a day since I’ve commented on a thread! I was very busy with applying to law school/job/preparing for law school and got way behind. I’ve (mostly) caught up though (: I missed doing these.
Good to see Domen Saburo recovered!
That Kakashi & Raidou talk was excellent. I’ve been very frustrated with Kakashi in the recent threads (actually, since the Tanuki mission. Granted, the most recent threads I have read at 2 A.M. while expressing sleepy noises of pleasure, affront, or disbelief), but this one made me more sympathetic towards him. I think Raidou is in the right here - staging that suicide was unequivocally the wrong call - but Kakashi makes good points about him, too. I’m only halfway through a re-read (up to the performance evaluations - are there more coming soon?), but the only time he’s really worked with Kakashi is on the first mission when they sparred. Still don’t think Kakashi is at all ready for command track, but there’s seven months to go in Team Six’s first year.
Speaking of my Kakashi frustrations, while I found their interactions in this thread sweet, my main feeling about the Kakashi/Ryouma relationship right now is apprehension and an impending sense of doom. Ryouma’s done relationships before but none this serious; Kakashi hasn’t done anything at all, and they’re both emotional fuckups in different ways. I’m glad they have each other to hold onto, but it fucked up the last mission (I found Ryouma’s motives more sympathetic than Kakashi’s re: the staged suicide) and it could potentially fuck up Team Six’s future as well. Either that or one of them does something to cause an explosion and then Team Six is also fucked, just in a different way. I hope they prove me wrong but I also love bad feelings.
It might make a bit hypocritical to go all heart-eyes about Genma & Raidou after that screed, but they’re far more emotional stable, have better coping mechanisms and have been in actual relationships before. With that said, I hope they get back to Genma’s apartment and there is ill-advised kissing or perhaps just pining before Raidou’s Boundaries™ re-assert themselves. Slow burn is best burn. I’m in awe at all the medical information y’all have packed in there - that must have been hours upon hours of research. No wonder writing threads takes so long. How many squabbles over details were there? Also - I’ve always loved Legacy’s imagery. My favorites this thread were “Genma, tethered in his chair, looked up at them like a dog watching someone else eat ribs.” and Kakashi’s little plant corner. (I looked up the flower language meanings of sunflower & lavender in case y’all tried to sneak some foreshadowing in there, but all I got was aww. Devotion, virtue, and adoration. Sweet.)
NOW BLOOD. I have my own theory about the clotting factors (though I need to re-read the tanuki mission because it could hinge on some stuff from there). I can see the kids missing a clotting issue when they healed Genma, but Himself not so much. I wonder if it’s something to do with the warped chakra that Iebara and Ryouma had/have. (And in that case, they ought to test Kakashi’s levels too since he used Iebara’s jutsu.) Apparently Ryouma’s reverts itself, so maybe the rot jutsu has slowly fucked with his clotting factor but not enough for anyone to notice? I can’t see Ki depriving Ryouma of his rot jutsu forever, but I can see it being used as a plot device for Ryouma to develop a sense of himself outside them. Part of this might be me wanting that warped chakra sense to Be Something, since it’s been stuck in my head since that mission, but we’ll see! Thank y’all for writing Legacy, as always!
typos (?)
and stockpiles of instant ramen - extra space here “You still don’t get to take all the blame, Rookie.” - I know titles normally get capitalized, but I don’t see why rookie would. Re: comma usage - A lot of the ones I see seem unnecessary. Not like I have any room to judge on excessive commas, though. “The danger is kidney injury from the protein accumulating as its filtered, so this is to flush it through - it’s Raidou was right, if it hadn’t killed him in three months, then it probably wasn’t going to, even if the numbers he’d seen on that report were hardly reassuring. - comma splice in the beginning here

I seriously think that they need to over think the jury next season. There's been so much drama this year because they keep making wrong decisions especially when it comes to the wind. Andreas had shitty conditions when it came to his jump and yes, Stefan's weren't perfect either but Andi definitely drew the short straw. There was nothing he could do with this conditions. He obviously did the best he could, even the commentators said it. With this conditions, this was the best thing he could do and I just think it's unfair that the jury ignored the fact that they didn't have nearly the same conditions. Sorry, but it's fucked up and the four hills all over again. And I'm so done. That was one of the first thoughts I had after I saw Andi crying. I looked at my mother and said “this ended just like the four hills tournament” and she agreed.
It wouldn't even have mattered because even if Andi wouldn't have gotten to Stefan's result, he still would have been second and it would've been okay but no, the jury fucked it up. Again.
And I'm not saying that Stefan doesn't deserve this! He clearly does, he did an amazing job. He's an amazing athlete, but I just wish that he final jumps would have been under fair conditions for both of them.. I can't be happy for him right now. I just can't.
I was honestly so shocked when it happened and the moment I saw Andi crying, there was no holding back for me. I was crying too and I still am. Andi deserves the world and after always being second behind Stefan I really really prayed for him to be first just once. He would have deserved this so much. And now being not even second but only third is so bitter. You could even see in this face that he just wanted to leave during flower ceremony. He kept his face blank but it said everything. He's so strong and I'm so fucking proud of him!
My deepest respect to Kamil Stoch who's such a wonderful human being, amazing role model and such an fair, respectful athlete that it makes me want to hug him so badly. My mother and I honestly both teared up when Kamil said those words about Andi. I really do wish him the best and hope he's able to win the world cup next week.
I'm also soooo damn proud of Domen Prevc and Karl Geiger, I can't even find the right words for it. Domen just improved his personal best three times the last two days and I couldn't be prouder. It's obvious how much he loves this and how much fun he has. Him smiling after coming down is the best thing ever. Also, people say that you notice how much fun he has because he's walking through the athletes village with a huge smile on his face all the time.
Then Karl, oh my god Karl. I can't say how bad I felt for him yesterday. He's such a sweet cupcake and needs to be protected at all costs. After the jury fucked him over yesterday I only prayed for him that today would be good and it wasn't good, it was freaking AMAZING. Seeing him all happy and reliefed after he came down after his first jump made me so incredibly happy you have no idea because I wouldn't have been able to bear it seeing him doubt himself. And then after the second jump, boy, no words needed. Sooo happy for him. He really needed this so push his ego and to finally realize that he is able to do this. Job well done Karl!
Kevin Bickner gave me a freaking heart attack people! I personally felt like he wanted a little too much in his second jump after both this incredible jumps before and that went wrong. I'm just glad nothing bad happened to him because I was really scared when he wasn't able to prop up on his left arm. I really thought something was broken.. but gladly, he's okay. Thanks god!
Also, Bine Norcic being so happy. He almost couldn't believe what he saw! This time he didn't dare to roll his eyes ;)
And of course, Noriaki Kasai. This man just rocks!
Also really happy for Jurij Tepes, Michael Hayboeck and Simon Ammann today. Still a little heartbroken that Markus Eisenbichler didn't make it into the second round. And of course, my heart just is fully with Andreas Wellinger right now..
Overall, I'm just glad that raw air is finally over because it was unfair, the wind was annoying, the jury made bad decisions and it was so nerve wrecking.
What can I say, I won't miss it. Nope. I won't. I just wish it would've ended in a different way.

Daniel Andre Tande imagine - “I miss you”
You were making yourself comfortable on your sofa waiting for the competition in Wilingen to start. You almost never miss any competitions, maybe when you’re working but still you watch the competition after work. But it never really feels as special as watching it live. You’re not nervous because you already know the results and who won. You already had your mint tea with you to calm down your nerves. You always became suddenly nervous before one certain jumper. Daniel Andre Tande. Your boyfriend, and even though was in a great shape after Bishofshofen you always felt a bit sick when it was his turn. Your relationship was pretty long-distance. He was almost always on the road. Traveling from one place to another, training pretty hard and having conferences pulled him away from you. You talked on the phone everyday but sometimes that felt like it wasn’t enough. It couldn’t compare to having his arms wrapped around you or holding his hand while you were going for a walk. At times you wished he was with you more, like at times when thing went wrong you just needed someone to tell you it’s going to be alright. Someone to caress your hair when you had trouble sleeping. But he wasn’t there. You saw each other every two weeks when he came back before going off again. Every sacrifice was worth it once you saw him. His smile, his tight hug, warm hands wrapped around you. Every time he did that you just couldn’t imagine yourself with anyone else.
Naturally there were times where you questioned yourself if it was worth it. So many lonely nights, so many surprised faces of people when you tell them about Daniel. People are saying that this kind of a relationship needs a lot of trust and patience. You can’t call his at any time. Well you can be you’ll get no answer. Many people ask if you’ve lost any weight since dating him because he doesn’t eat a lot and if that affected me. This makes me laugh every time. A loud noise broke you out of your thoughts. It was the TV. The competition was already in the process so you were commenting with your father about jumps, conditions and as always you were both guessing the distances. That became like usual thing. You never had more fun watching ski jumping in front of the TV than when you watched with your dad. Of course nothing beats watching in person and feeling that cheer spirit.
Only top 10 jumpers had to jump in the first round and the nervousness came. “Y/N how will your boy jump today?” Dad asked me joking. “He’ll win, I’m telling you.” You smiled and as always your dad was supporting Slovenes and cheering for Peter or Domen Prevc. He and his friends always pick on you for always cheering for foreign jumpers. Then think nation should always come first. Not that you don’t think they are capable of winning, because they can. Just you always somehow happen to find an Austrian or a Norwegian boy to steal your heart. Metaphorically of course.
After the competition ended you felt relived knowing nobody got hurt or fell. After all it’s really dangerous sport. “You satisfied dad?” You asked him but got no answer. He fell asleep which was nothing unusual since he works around the house all day and once he sits on his favourite chair he can fall asleep immediately. “Of course you fell asleep.” You and your mum always make a bit of fun of him for falling asleep so easy. Sometime you wonder how cool that can be since there are some night when you just can’t fall asleep and keep turning around.
About an hour later you phone starts ringing and you already know who it is. “Congratulations!” – “Hello to you too babe. And Thank you.” – You could hear he is smiling by his tone. Those moments made every struggle worth it. His calls, smile, every time he calls you corny nicknames because he knows you are not fond of them. “You happy with the jumps?” Even though he is usually in top 10 there are times when he is not completely happy with his performance. “They were great, but there is still some space for improvement. But they weren’t bad.” – “So the usual.” You teased him.” – “Babe..” – “Tande..” You knew how he preferred you called him by his name or anything else than by his surname. You were used to always refer to him by his surname even before you met. As you did with all ski jumpers mostly except the Prevc brothers. “Anyway, what are you doing?” – “Getting ready to study for this test that I have in the beginning of February. You back at the hotel?” – “No, I wish I was but we still have to do something with the team, some interviews.” – “It will pass by quickly believe me and you’ll soon get some deserved rest.” – “I know.” After a small pause he spoke again. “I miss you Y/N.” You knew this was coming. He says that in every phone call. It’s so hard to hear that from him even more when he says it in a tone that breaks your heart. “I miss you too Daniel.” You sighed knowing it’s hard for both of you. “We’ll be back together in no time believe me. Then I’m not leaving your side babe for some time.” You tried to cheer him up but at the same time tried to convince yourself that you can do this. You wonder if it’s like this in every long-distance relationship. “I’m not going to let you babe.” He almost laughed but you could still sense sadness in his voice. “Cheer up buddy. We’ll talk later, okay?” – “Okay, I’ll call you when this is over. Go study smartass.” – “You’re my man.” – “You’re my girl.” This was your traditional goodbye phrase. Ending the conversation and at the same time telling you love each other. After that you both hung up. It just became your thing. You never said `I love you´ but this phrase meant even more. It reminded you that it didn’t matter where you were, together or apart you were always with each other in their heart.

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP)-The Amazing World of Dr. Seuss Museum in Springfield recently saw a major change.
It’s a story 22News closely covered at the Dr. Seuss museum last year, a mural which many called controversial.
The mural was from his first book And To Think That I Saw It on Mulberry Street, showing a Chinese man with a traditional hat eating noodles with chopsticks.
22News went to the Dr. Seuss exhibit Tuesday to find that it had replaced. The old mural that once hung on this wall became the center of controversy after three children’s authors said they wouldn’t visit the museum because of it.
The Northampton authors called the mural “a jarring racial stereotype.”
The museum unveiled a new mural which they say is a “celebration of Dr. Seuss’s wonderful journey starting on Mulberry Street and ending with Oh, the Places You’ll Go.”
No one from the museum would comment on replacing the old mural but one man told 22News he didn’t agree with it.
“They should’ve kept it to allow him to know that his freedom of expression was being shown and people could say they liked it or didn’t like it,” said Gary Cocker.
Springfield Mayor, Domenic Sarno issued a statement to 22News saying:
“I believe people will be pleased with the new mural, which proudly continues to depict our beloved Dr. Seuss and our beloved Springfield- it’s time to move on.”
Other new additions to the museum include a poster explaining Seuss’s historical context and displays in Spanish.

Castys and Domenic could be aromantic violence buddies... but if Domenic wants to exploit Castys's healing and have some fun with him that'd be fun too 💕
Omg yes, let the violent aros chill out together, they’ll have such a wonderful time! I’m sure Domenic would love to hear some of Castys’ stories! I mean - how often do you get the chance to meet an immortal?! Especially one with so many stories to tell!!! But beware, Domenic will make stupid comments ;) Maybe he’d even ask if Crabstard would be available for dinner since he loves seafood ;)
I’m sure Domenic would also love to find out how that funny “suicide for convenience” trick works… And this is exactly what will kill him in the end, because you bet that he’ll get totally excited, grab the pouch and go “OHHHHHH, can I see?”
And then BAM! Dead.
Exploiting his healing abilities would be a better alternative for both, though it won’t be too much fun for Castys, so Domenic would have to offer something in exchange…

SPRINGFIELD — On Saturday, June 3, the giant Cat in the Hat Balloon and a Cavalcade of Conveyances paraded down the famed Mulberry Street to kick off the grand opening of the Amazing World of Dr. Seuss Museum with fanfare. Parade dignitaries included Lt. Gov. Karyn Polito and Springfield Mayor Domenic Sarno. The parade participants flowed onto the Quadrangle to enjoy performances by the SHOW Circus of Easthampton and students from the Community Music School of Springfield.
The Amazing World of Dr. Seuss Museum officially opened at 10 a.m. as the Cat in the Hat himself threw open the door and beckoned the crowd to join him in his new home, a museum dedicated to Springfield native and Cat in the Hat creator Theodor Geisel, a/k/a Dr. Seuss. The first-day crowd was 3,000 strong. A regular Saturday will attract a fraction of that number, said Welcome Center Supervisor Sharon Ferrara.
Many kids gave thumbs up when asked if they were having fun. One dad pointed to his son playing in the bakery meant to represent Ted Geisel’s grandparent’s bakery and said, “he doesn’t want to leave.”
Self-proclaimed Seuss fanatics said they were happy to see his personal items, such as his drawing desk and red rotary phone. “There is lots of history; I love that,” said Efrain Bermeo, who carried his 1-year-old son.
Exiting the museum with his family, Ja-Quan Gray, 11, noted, “out of 10, I give this museum a 1,000.”
The McElligot’s Pool exhibit caught the attention of Jacob Jackson, 8. “You can make your own fish,” he said with a laugh and a fist pump.
Many people responded to the abundance of murals recreated from Dr. Seuss books by John Simpson, project and artistic director, and his team of assistants from the UMass Amherst Commonwealth College. “It’s like walking right into a Dr. Seuss book,” Sarno said.
One mom approached Springfield Museums President Kay Simpson with two children in tow. “What you did in there is magical,” she said. “Thank you.”
Two young women from Springfield were impressed by the impact their city had on Geisel. “I had no idea how much Springfield was part of Dr. Seuss,” said Anna Zenno. Her friend Sphoorti Umarjee agreed, adding, “it was nice to see our childhood memories recreated so beautifully.”
Charlie Castillo and Joanna Aveles also commented on how seeing all the murals and exhibits brought back wonderful childhood memories.
And now it is time to make new memories. Bermeo shifted his son on his knee while sitting outside the museum under a tree. “I’m just starting with touch and texture for this guy right now,” he said. “My 4-year-old, though, he’s still in there with his mom.”
