Hello! It’s 2025 🥂 and I am still on my bullshit.

I’ve been thinking a lot about what brought me here to tumblr as of late- and that was my BPR.

I tried a reboot once. It was too much and too fancy and I was too critical of what I made… and it just kinda stopped being a thing.

And in true hula-zombie fashion, I keep going back to it and the ideas and storytelling I want to do with it and the characters. But here is the thing, I don’t know if this should stay a berry story. Which I know is so counter intuitive because it’s a berry pastel rainbowcy, and if it’s not berry, then it can’t be a BPR?

So I am wondering, and asking (mostly for just shits and giggles) does it matter? Anyone who followed me way way way back in the day- would it be different if the story was told with non-rainbow colored sims? Because the CC and my computer and everything that goes into it is a big overwhelming to me these days 😅

Thank you so much for the ask! This is a wonderful question. I think I already tagged you in the first one I received, but here are three more sims I love:

1. Bayram from @bastardtrait's Lucky Legacy (Generation 3) - I can't resist a grumpy man with a heart of gold. I'm in love with all the Lucky Legacy characters, actually, but Bayram might be my favourite. It's actually so hard to choose, though.

2. Matthew from @danjaley's McCarric Scenes is another one who fits the above description, so I love him for many of the same reasons. I'm rooting for so many of the characters in this story, but Matthew's surly Scottish grumpiness delights me every time.

3. Lorey from 'Flowers in the Garden of Fires' by @berryconfetti. I'm sure it's no secret that I adore a good Berry Pastel Rainbowcy, and this one is my favourite recently. Lorey has that awkward-but-hot swagger and it's delicious, and of course the whole story is a delight, both visually and narratively.

1.1 Of Frosting and Fantasies (SDL)

Curses. Madeleine Behr-Munch arrived home at 6:43p.m. on a Monday night in mid-spring. Her heel promptly sunk into the sagging wooden steps, a telltale sign of its age.  Her parents warned her against moving halfway around the world purchasing a fixer-upper home. As she maneuvered her foot out of the stairs, she began to regret ignoring their advice. She didn’t know a soul, save her nosy, but well-intentioned neighbor and this evening’s truly disastrous date. All the more reason to impatiently hustle up onto her porch. It was bad enough that she dipped out before dessert, her favorite course. No need to add to her humiliation by reliving the shameful details over the fence separating her property from the next.

Her less-than-charming dinner companion offered to drive her back while picking some spinach salad from between his slightly uneven teeth. As if she would entertain the man any longer. He had bad conversational skills, even worse manners, and he admitted during the main course that he was trapped in a loveless, sexless marriage. He was like a parched person in the desert looking at a watering hole in the distance. And Madeleine would not be this man’s cool reprieve. She squirmed in her seat, muttered a half-hearted excuse, and walked to the corner to catch the southbound trolley. The whole ride, she  lamented her luck, or lack thereof, and wondered why she didn’t dump her glass of ice water in his lap. She deserved better than becoming “the other woman.”

Infatuated

We begin our time in the Rainbowcy at the flea market. Where Dahlia and her two best berry buddies Eliza and Joaquin invited her to.

They were just having a ball but as soon as Sergio showed his face off Dahlia went. To ah, suck face.

I dont know what it is but Sergio just has some sort of thrall over Dahlia. Normally a very reliable and restrained sim she loses her sanity around him. In fact after the day of snogging at the Flea Market she just couldn't get him out of her mind and invited him out for breakfast.

Youd swear by this shot they live in a berry save but no that's just what my game does. She kept trying to press hints that she'd like things to be more certain between them but he seemed to brush the hints off. He is a man though maybe he just isnt picking up on our girls hints and isnt ignoring them. After that breakfast she didn't hear from him for awhile and she went back to her routine at the mobile home.

Caring for her home and the animals, painting and gardening in the morning.

Heading out for some exercise in the afternoons when the weather is right.

And hanging out at the little beach down the hill from her home.

Then it's usually home for dinner and there is almost always someone visiting.

Dahlia has a real good life. Simple and a little poor but she loves it.

She also has really good friends that take her out of the house for dinner dates every week to keep her in the loop and remind her there is a life out there without Sergio.

But somehow no matter where she goes he tends to show up and the attraction is like a magnet.

It takes some time for her to get herself back from these dalliances and remember why she was wherever she was.

To clear her head after instances like this Dahlia tends to look to the water. In this case, taking a day trip to Sulani.

It's nice to feel like herself again and just in time for her weekly dinners with friends. But this week it looks like Eliza can't make it she's been roped into working.

That left just Dahlia and Joaquin. Over what was quite frankly a rather disgusting meal, this place is seriously grimy why does Eliza work here? The two friends really got to know one another and Jo asked Dahlia how things were with Sergio.

Dahlia: Oh ... well ... ya know he pops up whenever and we *blushes* ya know and then I don't see him until the next random encounter. Joaquin: That's it? This has been going on for a while haven't you two discussed a future? Or even just gone out on a date? Dahlia: Well, I did ask him out to breakfast one time but he didn't seem to like that so I just let it go. Joaquin: You deserve better than that... I'd give you better than that. And with that Dahlia went home glowing and wondering just what it was she wanted for herself.

But that nights events ruined it when her bed tried to kill her.

So this time she went to the water to recuperate from near-bed death and the loss of her family's raccoon cat Mia.

Rather than dealing with any man problems.
