Happy Mother's Day to my lil' mama. No doubt she's responsible for my wild nature, and for that I cannot thank her enough. She's the one who taught me to first close my eyes and feel the breeze against my face, but to sniff the air and find my direction using my senses, instead of following the crowd. Her words are branded on my heart: "Baby girl, believe none of what you hear and half of what you see...most of life is revealed as you live it." She's always told me I could do or be whatever I wanted, and even if she didn't like what I had become, would accept my wandering and rebellious ways. Thank you mom, for bringing me into this world so I could live this big amazing life I've been graced with. What a ride... "Among wolves, no matter how sick, no matter how cornered, no matter how alone, afraid or weakened, the wolf will continue. She will lope, even with a broken leg. She will strenuously outwait, outwit, outrun and outlast whatever is bedeviling her. She will put her all in taking breath after breath. The hallmark of the wild nature...is that it goes on." After a few months of soul hibernation and brooding over a number of variables, I feel I've surfaced, come out of a dark depth - renewed. Here, squinting in the light, I consider myself a woman who has made a sustained descent and melded together a sturdy set of spiritual powers: a somewhat hostile yet, animated spirit, childlike enthusiasm, nurturing instincts, and the wisdom of a maiden.
