Every year, between Christmas and New Year's Day, I go through my archive of photos from the past year. Over the next few days, I'll be sharing some of my favorite unposted photos from 2017.
Archive Post #1: Brittlebank Park, Charleston - January 2017

Happy International Women's Day! #iwd2017 In addition, I'm way to humble to suggest that @blackoboist #annagasquejohnson #lesterholt #milanavayntrub #freddieprinzejr #boriskodjoe #antonellovenditti & @trabert are #godsgifttowomen but then again, it is our birthday! Cheers! (Photos are from the #womensmarchchs I attended back in January). (at Brittlebank Park)

Septima Poinsette Clark (May 3, 1898 – December 15, 1987) was an American educator and civil rightsactivist. Clark developed the literacy and citizenship workshops that played an important role in the drive for voting rights and civil rights for African Americans in the Civil Rights Movement. She became known as the "Queen mother" or "Grandmother" of the Civil Rights Movement in the United States. Martin Luther King, Jr. commonly referred to Clark as "The Mother of the Movement". Clark's argument for her position in the Civil Rights Movement was one that claimed "knowledge could empower marginalized groups in ways that formal legal equality couldn't." #womensmarch #womensmarchsc #womensmarchchs #equality #powertothepolls #firedup (at Charleston, South Carolina)

"Why do we do it this way? We do it this way because it is our experience that the nation doesn't move around questions of genuine equality for the poor and for black people until it is confronted massively, dramatically in terms of direct action." -Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr #womensmarchchs #womensmarch #whyimarch (at Charleston, South Carolina)
