We are trying to pass House Bill H.763, here is some info: "H.763 - An Act to protect Massachusetts pollinators is legislation that limits the use of the neonicotinoid class of pesticides to licensed pesticide applicators only and mandates a disclosure requirement to give homeowners the information they need to opt out of neonicotinoid use when purchasing services such as managed lawn care from licensed applicators. Neonicotinoids have been shown by a vast and growing body of peer reviewed scientific research to be a significant factor in the unsustainable losses of bees and native pollinators that we have all heard about. There is also a growing body of evidence that shows that neonicotinoids are polluting lakes, rivers, and watersheds via runoff. Several states, Canada, the EU and local municipalities in states where preemption is not an issue have already placed restrictions and, in some cases, outright bans on the use of neonicotinoids." How to help: - Contact your local rep to tell them you support the bill H.763 - Attend Public Hearing on Pollinator Protection Bills this Tuesday at the Statehouse to show support for the bill. Thanks to our @whitemountainapiary friends! #Repost @whitemountainapiary ・・・ TODAY is the Feast Day of St. Gobnait, Irish patron Saint of BeeKeepers. She was born in County Clare in the 5th or 6th Century, & is said to have been the sister of Saint Abban. She fled a family feud, taking refuge in the Aran Islands. Here an angel appeared & told her that this was “not the place of her resurrection” & that she should look for a place where she would find nine white deer grazing. She found the deer at the place now known as St. Gobnet’s Wood. Celtic lore held bees in high esteem, believing the soul left the body as a bee or a butterfly. Gobnait is said to have added beekeeping to her life’s work, developing a lifelong affinity with them. She started a religious order & dedicated her days to helping the sick. She used honey as a healing aid. She is credited with saving the people at Ballyvourney from the plague. One story tells of how she drove off a brigand by sending a swarm of bees after him and making him restore the cattle he had stolen. St Gobnait’s well is situated to the North of Ballyagran. Mais pas du tout! 🌬🌬🌬💨🥶 La Bise nous assomme, énervante pour certain et me donne mal à la tête pour ma part! ✨🐝🤪🐝✨ Mais la jolie visite impromptue de Julie et de son papa Loris @looping.ping , au rucher VD57175005 pour la première fois, Julie se voit de ma part, offrir son premier essaim! ✨🐝🎁🐝✨ Je demande juste après qu’il faut qu’elle demande �� son papa de lui acheter une ruche! 🤪 Demande acceptée de suite, je ne lui ai pas du tout « forcé » la main!!! ✨🐝😂🐝✨ De suite, n’ayant jamais vu d’essaim de sa vie, je lui demande si elle veut mettre la main dedans pour sentir la chaleur et les sensations que l’essaim procure! 😱 Je lui montre la façon et les mots, et sans sourciller ou demander l’approbation de son papa, Julie entreprend de connaître véritablement le touché des abeilles! Elle en riait de bonheur et d’émerveillement! Jolie scène pour un début d’apicultrice en herbe à 6 ans! Mes félicitations Julie! 🤩 Plus tard, comme je ne pouvais plus l’arrêter de ramasser les abeilles, tu t’es fait piquer, et trois larmes plus tard, tu es parties de ton propre chef chercher du Plantain pour l’écraser sur la piqûre! Une vraie druide!! ✨🐝🧙🏻‍♀️🐝✨ Tu es devenue en tout cas maintenant une vraie petite apicultrice vaccinée! ✨🐝⚡️🐝✨ Yoshi est venu me rejoindre plus tard dans la soirée, la Bise de plus en plus forte et moi en T-shirt depuis presque 3h30 dehors là car oui, cette fois j’ai gardé le T-shirt au lieu de le « prêter » aux abeilles!!! 😱🤪🥶 ...et je décide de rentré pour me réchauffer, j’arrive plus à parler!! 😱 Les abeilles ne voulant pas plus rentrer que ça! ✨🐝🌔🐝✨ Après une visite nocturne pour me rassurer, j’ai fermer la ruchette ce matin, 15 Mai 2019, et vers 12h30, après l’école, Julie et son papa sont venus chercher les bêtes pour leur rucher!
