#poorly drawn mdzs#mdzs#MDZS AU#lan wangji#wei wuxian#Backstory to this is 'we recently watched Brazil (1985) and this scene make us lose our minds.'#Brazil (1985) is best described as 'The Monty Python Crew does an adaptation of George Orwell's 1984 (1949).' Because it is.#And let me just say. I think it is the perfect adaptation. Somehow this film manages to be one of the best dystopia satires out there#While also being a genuine critique of capitalism and burocracy.#Plus the practical effects and set design were outstanding.#The 'romance' in this movie was definitely also a satire.#It is unbelievably wacky. I'm dead serious when I say this comic is beat for beat something that happens in the film#Guy who told this women *nothing* about the peril she's in form the government tells her he (legally) killed her.#She responds by saying “Care for a little necrophilia?” with NO ROMANTIC LEAD UP.#THE MUSIC SWELLS. HE TEARS OFF HIS JACKET AND DIVES INTO THE BED. SCENE END.#Jill Leyton has incredible range as a hot butch and hot femme. Was the line bizarre? Yes. She can pull it off though.#We paused and watched it back a few times. I wasn't intending to make a crossover this obscure but honestly...#It's...it's too good of a fit to pass up. the world is so fucked up and i can't help but think the damage is irreparable when i see people talking about how unusual and prudish it is to wait six to ten dates before having sex with someone. ten dates??? roughly like twenty five hours of interaction????? ten old timer burgers and mango iced teas from chilis equals sex?????? the possibility of pregnancy, STDs, emotional devastation, lifelong consequences, not to mention just straight up the possibility of getting murdered, with a STRANGER you have hung out with for maybe like two months???? and that's a LONG TIME???? and if you feel weird about that and don't want to do that that makes you NOT HETEROSEXUAL????? THATS AN ORIENTATION???? BECAUSE ITS SO OUTSIDE OF THE NORM OF HUMAN BEHAVIOR ????? i hate all of you i hate you i hate you i hate you every day i hate and I hate and I hate you

a very important lesson I was taught by my parents is that if I’m around an angry man and he’s threatening to kill himself then that is between him and the lord and my only response to that situation should be to get the fuck out of there and call 911. do not ever take the murder-suicide statistics lightly
#in no way trying to blame women who have been victims of murder suicide btw#we’re taught to comfort and be a shoulder to cry on and it’s much easier said than done#but if you are around a man and he is yelling or punching things or throwing things#or threatening to kill himself#then get out of there pls you do not need to try to calm him down

something that always gets me clapping and cheering when i watch something is when theres a female character who fights bloody and raw and nasty. especially if she isnt notably more competent of a fighter than whoever shes tussling with and is just throwing whatever she can at her opponent with desperate abandon. ESPECIALLY if she just barely ekes out a victory with blood dripping from her teeth

I just saw someone describe the phenomenon of all kinds of minority groups allying with people who want to kill them too as long as they also want to kill Jews and accepting all the bigotry that goes along with that even when it's directed towards them themselves as "intersectional antisemitism" and um yeah wow I think that is a really useful term.
