Ever After society is like... a weirdly sexist matriarchy and it's wild. The stories often have the women as the driving characters, and in Ever After they are the ones who often pass down the names and seem to be queen regnants. But they also are expected to be feminine and take classes like Damsel-in-Distressing for their strong brave trophy husband heroes.

I wish the show had engaged with this honestly, but alas we're just here to sell dolls to kids.

I've seen weird discourse on TikTok about what counts as a sundress, as I guess there are a bunch of men that think body-con dresses are sundresses? Personally, I think of sundresses as very light, flowy dresses that are usually long, but can be short. Sometimes they have sleeves, sometimes they don't.

I think the octotrio would still prefer different types of sundresses on their beloved~ This is what I think, though it's a bit suggestive:

Azul likes wrap dresses, he thinks they're super versatile with the various lengths and styles! They can be formal or informal, but is favorite to see on you is one in a casual style. It let's in take you out and about for dates on the pier, and it's best for the beach, which he is fond of even if he doesn't transform while in the water. And, well, the fact that it's just a few strings and ribbons keeping it together...just one little tug, and he has you all on display for him~

Now, as much as I give him shit for his fashion sense in Camp Vargas, Jade is actually super good at finding you cute dresses, though he's inclined to go for a long, dainty milkmaid dress. Something about it being so cute and almost unassuming drives him a bit insane. It's perfect for a hot summer day out in the town, or perfect for him to come home to! It's so innocent, but not really, not with the thoughts Jade's having each time he sees you in that dress.

Finally, I think Floyd really likes cute things. He like cute things, likes cute clothes, cute people, cute clothes on cute people! He likes to see you dress up in short, frilly dresses when you guys go out to the beach. It's perfect for the hot weather, easy to slip on and off for...activities...and it's just very cutesy! He loves all of it, and he wants to see you in it! Won't you just indulge him? He proooomises to behave....for a little bit. Don't mind if he sneaks you away to a private grotto, he did say the dress is easy to slip on and off real quickly.
