When we criticize hypersexualization of women in media there's always someone to say shit like "ohhh so you're not comfortable with women having sex?" or "so you don't think that women should be able to discuss sex just like men are?" And it's all so tonedeaf?! It's like they can't even understand the problem. Men do not have to be naked and being sexually suggestive to convince anyone to buy their music, to acknowledge their talent. Everyone's allowed to do whatever they want to do in their private lives, women wanting to have sex is not taboo (?)

But this is a systemic problem. Ask yourself WHY there's an imbalance, why do female performers' only chance in the industry of pop culture is to sell a hypersexual image. That's objectification. And yes, that objectification has everything to do with patriarchy and porn industry and prostitution. Are female performers being free if they're only succeeding when naked, exposed, objectified? I don't think so. This is a very specific kind of "freedom", there's very real consequences to those who do not fit to a rigorous standard. Open your eyes.

Hi everybody! my new LP "impossible light" is now out digitally on The Flenser. You can also pre-order the vinyl, tapes and shirts.

It has collabs w Otay:Onii, Liturgy, Charlie Looker and Blood of a Pomegranate. It was mastered by Lawrence English and has visual art by Quartzvii and photography by Frankie Pan (including the shot below). It's intended to be listened to with either a big sound system or good headphones at a high volume.

- It's 6 years in the making, the Origin of My Depression (2019) was made *during* making this. It became such a big, complex album that I sidelined it for the Origin, especially since my mental health wasn't ideal at the time. Now its finally out and I can close a chapter of my life and move on.

It's the opposite of The Origin, although it is not a purely 'happy' record by any means. I suggest you listen from beginning to end, as it starts off gloomy, but doesn't end gloomy. Ultimately, its a record about the possibility of a future.

The dolls deserve human instrumentality too. Hope y'all like it. -X

TEETH DREAMS: 'with my back to the world'

Almost a year to the day since the last one, I managed to get a new Teeth Dreams record out into the world. This one was kind of a hassle, it’s been a hell of a year. I wrote and recorded this as a sort of meditation exercise during a rough patch a couple months ago. While that sounds bleak, I think it turned out pretty much exactly how I’d hoped. 36 minutes of harsh ambient drone, composed around polymicrotonal interactions between 5 and 7 EDO.

Love and thanks to @uboatheflesh for once again mixing and mastering, and keeping my fits of despair at bay, and to Orchid for knocking out this absolutely stunning album art.

As Japan did not have many iron ore deposits, it had for a long time to rely on more available satetsu 砂鉄 (ironsand, carried for ex. by rivers). Ironsand was then processed in special furnaces called tatara to make prized tamahagane 玉鋼 (traditional Japanese steel, used among other things to forge swords).

If you've seen Princess Mononoke, you know exactly how tatara forge could look like thank to Lady Eboshi's Iron Town:
