A canvas I painted for winners of a recent @furphybeer competition 🍺🥇. ⁣ ⁣ 📷 @kieranmoorephotography ⁣ The story of the wombat boys⁣ ⁣ Once there was two wombat fellas and they had a magical esky which kept everything heaps colder for way longer than regular eskys but that's not even the best part, the best part was that what was put in there would multiply by two.⁣ ⁣ If you put one brewski in, the next time you looked there would be two brewskis. “Quartet: Determination” : my wombat painting from a few years ago. I love everything about these Australian marsupials, from the name to the fact that they look like they should be small animals- but actually grow really huge, even up to 80 lbs! They are strong and determined, hence the title. I am so saddened by the loss of so many of these and other precious creatures in the Australian fires. This here is Warrick the Wombat, part of the mural at Chalmers Road School in Strathfield. ⁣ ⁣ The story of Warrick the Wombat⁣ ⁣ Once there was a wombat called Warrick the Wombat and he was one of the best learners there ever was. When he was little he learned all the stuff at school in the first month that he was meant to learn in the whole year and as you can imagine he finished school way earlier than was normal for a wombat. After he finished school he opened up a school of learning for wombats that was called Warrick the Wombat Centre of Learning and the curriculum was tailored for each student based on their individual requirements. Painting up Wazza the Wombat at @lazarbeamyt's house.⁣ ⁣ The story of Wazza the Wombat⁣ ⁣ Once there was a hell jacked wombat and his name was Wazza and he opened a gym for wombats called Wazza's Wonderful Wombat Workout Joint.⁣ ⁣ It was super popular with wombats far and wide who wanted to turn that wombat plump into wombat pump.⁣ ⁣ He was a marvellous trainer and a few of his members even went on to compete in the World Wombat Weightlifting championships.⁣ ⁣ Wazza's career really took off when he started a YouTube channel about workout routines and stuff. His engaging and enthusiastic demeanour enamoured him to audiences the world over and he became the number one Wombat YouTube channel in the world and a bonafide internet celeb. Painting a Wombat called Zac in the hills of Queanbeyan 😎🤙🛹. ⁣ ⁣ The story of Zac the Wombat⁣ ⁣ Once there was a super cool dude Wombat called Zac and he loved bombing hills on his skater. How do you know when something is complete? I know with certainty that there is always a possibility of another layer or another chapter to the story of an art piece. We keep changing through life and so our art changes with us. The bold change of contrast in the sky opened tis image up and created the breathing space of sky and a bush horizon. I feel more of a sense of calm connection now and an honouring of the rugged beauty. This piece is finished for now but as I work back and forth through this collection of small triptych and diptych pieces as a series, inspiration and changes are inspired. This is an intuitive space of trust and letting go, of healing and allowing the unknown and unexpected. A new adventure… one thing… I’m good at shiny object syndrome as there is always so much to learn and explore. It’s exciting and fun to go on a new art adventure…there are so many projects in my little studio as I move from one opportunity to the next. So how can I commit to completing and sharing consistently? I thought I’d go small and see where it led… starting by working on the backgrounds of multiple panels…( see previous video) and then I kept straight into another new thing…so I’m going to see this through with your help… For the next couple of months my big focus is a series of small diptychs and triptychs. They are my learning curve as I step back and work on a new collection. This time I’m setting the deadline and will do my first artist launch in October. That means that each week I intend to complete at least 3 of these multi panelled pieces. They are small… 8 x8 inches… and each one is designed to work alone as well as within a series. I would love your support on the journey as this is a new learning. Really telling you this is me tricking my multi tasking mind. If I ask for help, it helps me commit to you… I’m great at committing to other people but not so much to myself. If you have read this far, thank you in advance… it means so much. These art stories are about connecting with nature and the beauty and wisdom of our sacred Earth. They are about finding balance in all the different areas of our lives so we can honour our world and the energy and emotions that surround us. Feeling my way have me. Sometimes the world seems so busy that I just want to be. As an introvert artist I love and those quiet spaces in nature fill me up so I have energy for the next adventure. It is the sense of allowing the day to unfold and finding myself present. Wombat brings that grounded sense of moving into each space with a sense of grounded support. I need that energy right now with all the unknowns surrounding our world.
