Entertainment Weekly just named Documentary Now! as one of the 'The 25 best shows to watch on Netflix right now' (April 6, 2024) which lead me to this ranking on Consequence.net 'Every Episode of Documentary Now!, Ranked From Worst to Best' by Clint Worthington from November 9, 2022.

Alexander Skarsgård's 2 episodes 'Solider of Illusion' Parts I & II were ranked #5 by Clint:

It’s a Parody Of: Werner Herzog’s existential, surreal documentaries, most notably the Les Blank-directed Empire of Dreams, about the making of his historical epic Fitzcarraldo.  It would have been easy for Documentary Now! and writer John Mulaney to do a straightforward pastiche of Empire of Dreams, make Bill Hader do a hokey Werner Herzog impression, and call it a day. But what makes ���Soldier of Illusion” so brilliant is the ways it dodges those expectations while building its own comic infrastructure one gut-busting brick at a time. Alexander Skarsgård’s Rainer Wolz isn’t quite doing a Herzog voice, but he captures that intensity, the precision, the dogged desire to put himself and others at risk for the sake of art. But John Mulaney’s script throws in the most surprising of monkey wrenches: He’s not only documenting the lives of an impoverished tribe of people in Russia, he’s simultaneously producing the pilot for a CBS sitcom called Bachelor Nanny. And of course, he directs a hokey three-camera farce with the same intensity as he would any of his hard-hitting meditations on life, right down to calling up his unstable ringer (August Diehl’s Dieter Diemler, nailing the volatility of Klaus Kinski). A masterclass in elevating the inside-baseball film nerd nature of the premise into something universally hilarious.

Warnings: I dunno, it's Martin Whitly. Can be read as Daddy Kink but isn't necessarily intended that way.

You thought you could trust Martin with your phone. That was the whole reason you'd had the guard hand it off to him. You'd just needed to run to the restroom. That was it. How much trouble could he possibly get into in the, at maximum, two minutes it took you to run there and back?

Apparently, a lot.

Walking back into the room, you immediately knew something was... off. You weren't sure how, but there was a subtle difference in the air. When you turned to the guard, he gave you a look as he leaned forward to pass your phone back.

Martin was uncharacteristically quiet. Your attention turned to him, and you finally saw the expression he wore -- something caught between disgruntlement and bemusement.

"What's wrong?" you asked, and you wondered if maybe something had happened with Malcolm or Ainsley. Had they had another falling out? Could that much damage really have happened in the two minutes (max) that you were gone?

"Murder Daddy, huh?" Martin shot back, tone casual but eyes belying the emotions roiling away underneath his nonchalant act.

You stiffened, clutching the phone to your chest. "Wh... wheeeeere did you hear that?" you tried to cover, forcing a smile. "Did someone on Twitter call you that?"

"No..." he said, and he sounded remarkably like an admonishing parent, and you realized that this was literally the worst time to get turned on, but hey -- you'd been naughty, apparently. "You did."

The disappointment in his voice was palpable, and you whimpered. "I'm sorry."

"Oh, I know, little lamb," he chuckled darkly. "But I'm not interested in an apology."

"Y-you're not?"

"Oh, no," he told you, moving to a stand and pacing to the red line that separated you two. He was painfully close -- tauntingly within reach but unable to be touched. You could feel his breath ghosting across your skin, and you were dangerously close to drowning in his eyes. "I want to know how you're going to make it up to your Murder Daddy."

Attention non-voters

Every non-voter: It is definite that those who choose not to vote "because you don't want Kamala/Wolz should know that non-voters should know that you are voting for the trumpeter".

I am saying right now: I am voting for the K/W ticket because I am a very liberal person, and have hated the trumpeter since he walked down that golden staircase back in the 80s.

But if I had anyone to dislike on the Democratic side for any reason, I would vote for the Republican if s/he were a more likeable human being for doing, just as so many republicans are voting for the Democratic this time. I suspect there are many more of them dong the same, but not telling us.

Not voting for anyone because you don't like her/him, clearly shows she/he are more interested in yourself, and not for the good of our nation. Don't even tell me you do not understand how truly awful the trumpeter would really be bad for America.
