Hey, everyone!
So, FNAF movie's finally out, huh? After the original plan to go watch it on 31th October cos HALLOWEEN was ruined by Corona, I went to watch it this week. And seeing it after waiting for months, I'd say it was worth it. Was it the best movie I've ever seen? No. Where were some flaws that could've been easily fixed with a better script. But you know what? The movie's still awesome and I get why fans went crazy for it.
Similarly to Paw Patrol movie review I did some years ago, here are some of my thoughts put together more clearly:
My goodness, the animatronics looked PHENOMENAL
Mike and Abby's story is honestly a tragedy if you think about it: Garrett got kidnapped when Mike was still a kid and Abby was most likely meant to be the "replacement kid" his parents decided to have as a way to "make up" for what happened. But when Abby didn't manage to "fill" that hole, their father killed himself, adding even more to the tragedy that happened.
Adding onto that, Abby's "odd" behavior of not talking to anyone, being mean to Mike and drawing all day is definetly a coping mechanism. Because while her parents provide her with food, a room, art supplies etc, they don't engage with her enough. As such, she's learned not to trust her older brother, doesn't engage with others likely due to distrust and fear and buries her sadness and anger into her drawings(kinda like me during high school due to bullying hehehe....moving on). While she still loves her older brother, provided by the drawings around her room, she prefers to be distant because that's how her family has been, so she is distant as well cos she's learned that's how she's safe.
This could also be the reason Abby liked the animatronics so much and called them her friends: they were nice to her and engaged with her in her games.
Mike was also a good character. He's really, REALLY trying to take care of his sister, but is also stuck in the past trying so hard to figure out what happened that he unwillingly neglects his sister, who needs him to be there, but he doesn't understand it. I'm glad he understood his mistakes in the end and became more apparent in Abby's life. While some writing choices in his arc were a bit weird(such as inviting Aunt Jane to babysit Abby while he could've maybe ringed up someone else knowing Abby doesn't like Jane, as well as accepting giving Abby to the animatronics in exchange for being killed so he can stay with Garrett in the afterlife or something(like, dude, didn't you realize Golden Freddy kid was manipulating with you?!)), it was still a satisfying arc and I'm glad he and Abby are on better terms now.
Fort scene was honestly adorable and, in my opinion, introduced more tragedy to the whole possessed animatronic situation: in FNAF games there's more focus in the horror and anxiety of animatronics finding a way to you and stuffing you in a deadly springlock suit. But in here we get to see a more sad note to it. Yeah, kid soul possessed animatronics are creepy, but at the same time they're still KIDS. While under Afton's control and pissed about their situation so much they murder people, they still retain their playful side and want to do fun things. And so when Abby came to Freddy's and wanted to build a fort, they got to be kids again. Yeah, they still planned on offing her, but you get the point.
Speaking of kids, those child actors, especially the blonde boy, did a PHENOMENAL job. If anyone who worked on the movie production sees this, please buy them the biggest sundaes possible.
Before this movie came out I had zero idea who Matthew Hillard was. And honestly I feel sad about it cos he also did a PHENOMENAL job. Upon seeing the first trailer the way the office scene played out with him sitting there, hands under his chin, it already gave me bad vibes. And later on when he's at the pizzeria and removes his mask, the way he tried to make Afton look with those wide, crazed eyes and that small smirk was so good.
The "I always come back" scene was FINE. Like, had Afton said anything else, the fans would've been disappointed.
Also, maybe Afton knows something we don't? With the second movie coming, we could get more info about his backstory and learn something new. ALSO ALSO, it was a genuine threat. That even if Spring Bonnie suit gets destroyed, he'll never stop trying to find ways to return.
Vanessa was another good character. Yeah, maybe a bit too secretive at times which, as said before, could've been fixed with a better writing, but still good. The idea of her being Afton's daughter was, in my opinion, quite a surprise, but welcomed nonetheless. If you think about it, her being Afton's daughter as well as an police officer helps Afton cover up anything that could lead the law to him. And since he's an asshole of a "father" who abuses and shelters her(Headcanon that he's threatened her with Torture Freddy and/or exposing her as his daughter and a second hand at covering up murders every day since the Original Kid Murders), she doesn't really have anything she can do.
Not that many scares? Honestly not such a big problem people make it up to be. FNAF mostly relies on the terrifying envinorment and jumpscares for the horror. Balloon Boy was still a bastard though and I swear I'll burn him one day and not feel sorry about it.
And I guess that's everything. So, in final conclusion, the FNAF movie is FINE. Yeah, some rough edges could've smoothed out a bit more, but otherwise had a pretty well thought out plot, cool animatronics and a satisfying ending. It's clear they wanted to tell a different story we've grown used to from the video games and comics, which isn't bad cos let's be honest, had it been more similar to the video games, people would've complained about it being "too similar". Will definetly be an experience FNAF fans won't ever forget.
Aaaand that's all. Hope you enjoyed and if you've read the whole thing though, congrats! See you on the flipside!

Final book of Renegades, people. NOW THAT IS A BOOK COVER!
No seriously, look at this. You got the protagonist walking on a pile of rumble in their costume while lighting's flashing through the sky. Just like a supernova. Ha, see what I did there :)
Anyway, like I said, Supernova is the final installment of Renegades and lemme tell you the ending was PRICELESS! No spoilers, I promise. So like before, we still have some secrets we have to uncover with our characters. And like before they will shock you.
So, was I right? You can comment below if you want.
Anyway, what I love most about the final book is the character development that follows. I think I said this with the first book but I'll say it again anyway. Turns out the secrets not only shock you, but the characters themselves. Both secrets and lies have dropped onto the table and just like that, a wave of realization courses through your mind. It feels like when you finally find the missing piece of a 500 puzzle.
One of the things that stumped me was the ending. Now I know I said I loved the ending, which I still do, but it still kinda confused me. I can't reveal too much, but let's just say I found it a bit cliche. I mean there was one part of the ending that I loved, but other than that, I felt like Marissa could've done better with some of the other ones.
Overall, I was amazed by how much work this author put into this trilogy. Once I get home from college, I'll do a book review of The Lunar Chronicles next. I can't wait to show you all the books that I loved and helped me to grow over the years. And the wonder authors that made it possible.
That's all for now. Until next time, stay on track and stay in the pack.

wolfcat-hybird's 2022 summary of art!
Tumblr media
[Image Description. A collection of digital drawings done by wolfcat-hybrid, one for each month. January and March feature dimension 20 fanart. February features a dryad holding a glowing flower. April features an emaciated figure cloaked in a dark robe with shadowy tendrils circling around him. May features an oc holding a sword above his head surrounded by flames, with the phrase "sold my soul to the calling" on a piece of fabric wrapped around the sword. June features a tired looking knight leaning on a spear. July features some of my friend's OCs as I only did artfight that month. August features a drawing of an OC of mine in fancy, historical clothes. September features a very rough doodle of a nervous man holding a sword, with the words "I just wanted to file my taxes" next to him. Edited in with red is a message recently added to the picture that says "I spent all of September playing fallout 4", then another message pointing man that says "my character". October features a hairy green demonic figure wearing dark robes. The character has a mouth that splits the face in an X-shape, and two nostrils on the lower half of the face that resembles a :3 expression. November features two figures in different shades of purple robes, the one on the left has the tragedy face mask, and the one on the right has the comedy face mask. Both are reacting to something out of frame. December features a large figure kneeling down offering a glowing sphere to a young girl as a figure watches from the foreground. End image description.]
Check replies for the template! I did a lot of fun art this year, I don't always post when I draw but the nice comments yall give always make my week :]

Warriors's last memory was of a dark fog swirling around him. Then bone-deep agony and a terrible shock, like he had just fallen into ice water.
When Warriors opened his eyes again, Wolfie was licking his face.
No. Not Wolfie. Twilight. He was never going to get used to that.
"Stop licking me," he slurred. His head ached and now he smelled like canine slobber. Disgusting.
Twilight stopped and panted. He crouched in front of Warriors. His tail was wagging. "You're awake! I was beginning to get worried!"
"Yeah, yeah." Out of habit, Warriors reviewed his body before moving, assessing for the familiar feel of broken bones. Twilight was good at stopping bleeding but terrible about bones, and he didn't know how to check for certain types of major injuries.
Nothing felt broken, but nothing felt right, either.
A large, pale wolf walked up behind Twilight. Warriors immediately snarled a warning.
Literally snarled. That was not a human noise which emerged from him.
Warriors snapped his mouth shut. His eyes widened. What the hell?
"Take it easy, Captain." Time's voice emerged from the pale wolf, even though its mouth didn't move. "It's a bit of a shock the first time it happens."
What happens?
Warriors looked around. Only then did he recognize that the colors were off. Everything smelled stronger than it should. He inhaled deeply and promptly sneezed. It smelled like wet dog and rabbit fur and --
A pink rabbit glared at him from beyond Twilight. "What are you looking at, mutt?" Legend snapped.
...what the hell had been in that fog? He was delusional.
Warriors whined and started standing up. His legs felt odd under him, and he almost fell over trying to look at them.
Four legs. Four furry legs with large paws at the end.
Mutt.
The Goddesses toyed with him more every day.
"You've got to be kidding me," Warriors said flatly.
Twilight's tail wagged even harder. "Nope! You're a wolf like Time and me! Sky was unaffected because he held the Master Sword, and he can turn everyone back to normal later."
"As normal as Wars gets," Legend grumbled.
The pink rabbit grumbled.
Warriors felt his tail begin to wag. He couldn't blame it. He beamed at Legend. He supposed his situation could be worse. "Aren't you adorable?" he cooed.
Legend bared his teeth at Warriors. Warriors merrily bared his own. By the Three, he needed to find a mirror.
Twilight licked a wet swath up Warriors's cheek. Warriors yelped and jumped back. Twilight looked unabashed, tongue lolling. "I know you probably still feel odd, but... want to run around? It's fun! I promise!"
His brother's tail was wagging so quickly behind him that it was a blur. Warriors looked at Time and saw his tail betraying him in a slow wag, too.
Ah, what the hell. Warriors darted forward. His legs still didn't feel right, but really, this wasn't the oddest situation he had ever been in. Warriors licked Time's nose and rejoiced in his startled yelp. "Tag," he said cheerfully. "You're it." Before Time could recover, Warriors bolted, Twilight laughing and sprinting behind him.
More voices rose in laughter behind him, but Warriors didn't dare stop. Mask had been a competitive little shit, and he knew that hadn't changed as his boy grew up.
Later, he would check on the others and see their own transformations. Right then, he cackled and played tag with Twilight and Time.

Ghostface x Creep!reader (Smut)
Tumblr media
It's been a while since you last hung out with Danny, so you snatched him up from the campfire when you were both free. Now, you're both seated under the shade of a towering tree in the forest beyond the warmth of the fire.
You're engrossed in reviewing the footage you've captured on your camcorder, your attention fixated on the scenes of fear and struggle you've documented. The glow from the small screen casts a faint, white light across your wolf mask as you immerse yourself in your trial recordings.
Beside you, Danny sits in a relaxed posture, his signature knife dancing deftly in his fingers. His actions are almost meditative. There's a comfortable silence that envelops the both of you.
Ghostface glances over at you, taking in the sight of your focused expression on the camcorder. He watches for a moment before speaking up, his voice deep and low-toned.
"You know wolfie, if you wanted to capture some real footage, I could always star in it for you."
He winks at you with a hint of playful smugness as he twirls his knife between his fingers expertly.
A faint smirk tugs at your lips as you listen to his proposition. "You're such a dork," you retort, rolling your eyes behind your mask as you sift through the recordings, discarding the mundane ones that don't meet your standards.
Ghostface chuckles lowly at your response, leaning in closer to you. "You know I'm not just any dork, babe. I'm your dork," he says as he places a hand on your thigh, his touch both possessive and comforting all at once.
A playful grin tugs at your lips beneath your mask. "You're stupid," you tease, a light-hearted retort that carries a hint of affectionate mockery.
You lean into the moment, your gaze meeting his beneath your mask. "Besides," you add with a teasing lilt in your voice, "you'd be a terrible subject."
"Oh really?" Ghostface says, his hand sliding up your thigh slightly. "I think I could come up with some pretty interesting footage for you." He leans in closer to you, his warm breath ghosting over the side of your mask as he speaks.
You don't respond, but your breathing becomes heavy as the sound fills the air. You want to see where this is going.
Ghostface takes your silence as a cue to continue, his hand now resting on your crotch. He gives it a gentle squeeze before starting to rub you through the fabric of your pants.
Your breath hitches as your hold on your camcorder tightens. It makes a creaking sound from how hard you're gripping it
Ghostface continues to rub you, noticing your reaction and enjoying the power he has over you. He leans in closer and whispers in your ear. "Do you like that, Wolfie?"
He then reaches over with his other hand and starts to tug at the mask covering your face. "Let me see that pretty little face of yours," he whispers before pulling off your mask completely, revealing your features to him.
Danny's reaction draws your attention. His low whistle reverberates in the air, an admiring sound that fills the space between you. You feel a subtle warmth creep up your cheeks, your usual composed demeanor momentarily disrupted by his unabashed admiration.
"Well, well, look at you," he comments, his voice laced with lust. His own mask is the next to come off, revealing his face to you. The tension in the air seems to shift as you both stare at each other.
Your instinctive response is to avert your gaze, a mix of embarrassment and flustered disbelief coloring your features. "S-shut up, dumbass," you growl.
Ghostface smirks as he watches your flustered reaction, his hand moving down to grasp at your chin and turn you back towards him. "Don't be shy now, cutie," he says in a low voice that sends shivers down your spine. "I love seeing that pretty face blush."
He then leans in for a kiss. This one is intense as his tongue slides into your mouth and dances with yours. His hand moves down to undo the button of your pants, his fingers slipping beneath the waistband of your underwear to rub directly against your sensitive skin.
You let out a low moan as his tounge explores your mouth. You manage to grab your camcorder and point it at the scene
"I need.....I need to record this for later," you barely manage to spit out between kisses as Ghostface presses your body against his.
Ghostface pulls back slightly as he sees you grabbing your camcorder, one eyebrow quirked in amusement. "Well, if that's what you want," he says with a chuckle before leaning in to kiss you again.
He then starts to undo his own pants, pulling them down along with his underwear to reveal his thick cock. It stands proudly erect and ready for action, gleaming with pre-cum at the tip.
you immediately point the camera at his cock. Wanting to get every angle. You want this footage to be something you come back to for a long time.
Ghostface smirks as he sees you pointing the camera at his cock, and he takes advantage of it by reaching over to grab your head and pull you in closer. "Go ahead, doll," he says lowly. "Get every angle."
He then starts to stroke himself slowly, watching with dark hunger as you record him with your camcorder. His other hand moves back towards your crotch, rubbing against you even harder now as he gets more turned on.
"You're such a dirty little voyeur, aren't you?" he murmurs in your ear before nipping at the lobe playfully.
You let out another moan as you feel your body shaking with desire. Your camcorder shakes in your hand as you try to keep a good view of the show.
Ghostface chuckles darkly as he watches you struggle to hold onto the camcorder, enjoying the sight of your desperation. He continues to stroke himself slowly, letting out a low groan as he feels his own pleasure building.
"You like watching me touch myself, don't you?" he asks in a husky voice as his fingers move faster over his cock. "Do you want me to come for you on camera?"
"Yes.....please yes..." You hated how pathetic you sounded. But all shame seemed to dissipate as you focused on getting the perfect angle on Danny.
"Hmm, anything for you babe," Ghostface purrs seductively. He continues to stroke himself slowly while looking into the camera, his eyes dark with desire as he does so.
He then leans back slightly so the camcorder has a better view of him, and starts stroking himself even harder. His hips start to thrust forward into his hand with each stroke, his breathing becoming more ragged.
Ghostface continues to stroke himself hard and fast, his cock twitching in anticipation as he gets closer and closer to the edge. His breathing becomes more ragged now, each exhale coming out as a low groan of pleasure.
Ghostface grunts and moans with pleasure as he strokes himself faster and harder, his body writhing with ecstasy. The sound of your heavy breathing mingling with his own fills the air.
As you keep recording him with your camcorder, Ghostface pulls you in close once more so that you can feel his body trembling against yours. "I'm gonna come all over myself for you," he pants out breathlessly before giving picking up the pace.
"Oh fuck... I'm gonna come..." he growls out before letting out a loud cry of pleasure as he spills his hot load all over his hand, causing you to zoom in closer to capture every detail on camera.
As you watch Danny climax on camera, your entire body is warmed up with pleasure. You shudder as you zoom in on his cock and the hot cum that's dripping down from it.
Ghostface lets out a few more low groans as he finishes coming, his hand slowly moving up and down his cock to milk every last drop of cum from it. He then looks over at you with a satisfied smirk on his face.
"Did you enjoy that, wolfie?" he asks in a low voice before leaning in to kiss you again.
This was definitely going into your daddy compilation

Wolfy watches "Gargoyles"-part II
-Got through the rest of Season 1 as well as the first episode of Season 2
-Goliath continues to be a badass muscle mountain. And I love it!
-I mean seriously: those muscles and claws were able to SLASH.THROUGH.STEEL. And that deep voice, growls and angry glowy eyes=😙👌. And besides that he's so caring towards his clan and enjoys reading and...I think I should continue, otherwise this ramble will be all about Sexy Muscle Gargoyle
-I was really worried that Elisa was going to send the gargoyles away, only for some kind of event to happen that makes her think "Maybe the clan should stay in the castle after all...". But instead she got them a new home atop of police station.
-AND she got Hudson a brand new TV! I swear I start to adore her more and more as the time goes on: she's so sweet and kind, yet just and badass.
-The youngsters continue being adorable rascals I would LOVE to be friends with.
-Hudson's backstory with the archmage was cool. He was definely a good leader and still is a good guide to Goliath.
-Someday I will get a Bronx figurine, he's such a cutie.
-Okay, onto the episodes(FINALLY): they were good. I really love the consistency of the show and how almost every action plays into what someone does in the future. I especially LOVE the dark themes: finally something that doesn't shy away from it
- So, X is out of prison. Oh shoot....
-Are the people of NY dumb?! They have seen the clan multiple times and yet there's no investigation opened about them? Not to mention strange "statues" that seemingly move by themselves? I guess big city life makes you either dumb or your life is way to stressful to care, police will deal with it anyway...
- Derek definetly began visiting the clan after meeting them in person because hey, they're fucking gargoyles! He also definelty got them a boxing bag at some point.
- So far it's been great. I will keep on watching rhe series whenever I get the time.

epic the musical live review over a few days ft. getting high during storm saga
TROY SAGA thunder bringer was one of the first songs i heard so going to the horse and the infant and hearing don't make me do this please don't make me do this!!! i didn't know that was a callback reminds me of pathologic is great and here's why, where hbomberguy points out child murder is such a taboo and it's that game's opener (depending on the character) here it's the musical's opener fffuck okay ruthlessness was also one of the first songs i heard so "600 men under my command" after i know it will become at least 43 then 0 is hghhhhh. esp when they're similar melodies, the first time the number is mentioned in full speed ahead
CYCLOPS SAGA so i watched a few animatics of these as well before troy saga just bc mmm animatics and oh recontextualized w the last two songs of the saga thats. hm. IIIIII AM YOUR DARKEST MOMENT all the uses of die with the last sound stretched out emphasizing the eye sound oough remember them. remember us. remember me OOHHH ARE YOU SURE YOU WANT THAT. ARE YOU SURE
STORM got up to the first few animatics i ended up watching. by now i might be able to categorize the animators? gigi as Action, Cinema, wolfy as a few lines seeming delicate and shape so solidly, nealillustrator as the GOAT (ok im biased they've only got thunder bringer but it's really good and i know them from bnha animatics ok), ximena as line. color. solid expression fav things from various ruthlessness animatics: poseidon being a shadow horse with front-facing eyes, a spiky merman but tentacles on bottom, literally water that could form into different things, only his hair being water, a horse, a guy, the stageplay version, everyone having different amounts of frames and different styles, like every!! time i watch an animatic i spot a new good take, beauty in everryy style, all the goregous water animation, capturing odysseus, submerging him, putting him in a whirlpool. that man is now a truly soggy cat am i insane or is there wind blowing in the last verse of that. after what have you done. maybe ive just had shit earbuds before. brutal
i got caught up in listening to done for even though that was skipping ahead. i am going to eat gigi's animatic whole. the corresponding basslines for each character how ody's replaces circe's?? now watching there are other ways. the two together as a beautiful story in 6 minutes is amazing
CIRCE normal now i like done for and there are other ways a lot more than puppeteer. this seems to be a pattern in which songs i like in each saga eury's bit leading up to "a woman" reallyyyyy sounds like hamilton wouldn't you like beat drop??? done for and there are other ways are fucking brilliant they're a whole story like i said before. ill say it again. absolutely entrancing. love the take that circe's about to kill ody before he rejects her and starts going on about his wife. also the transition after "that prophet is dead" bungggg and then the backing track hghh i am going to eat the melodic motifs i am going to swallow the chords whole AAAAGHHH
underworld again. weaker start, but oooh full speed ahead a bit of a reprise moment there and ody's mom i did not expect that. left for too long wandered too far gods REPRISE OF I SEE A SONG OF PAST ROMANCE HELLOOOO halfway into no longer you and OOOOOHHHH FUCK this shit HITS despite everything it's NOT you
NO MONSTER THE SLIP INTO CORRUPTION gigi i would die for you and this sequence. you know the one
THUNDER suffering is so good (normal sentence) i love the back and forth the you know im too shy the tone change at the lair of scylla listened to different beast on the train (first time listening to a song w/o animatic at first) and oooh the switch up!!!! we're in it now! DIFFERENT BEAST NOW HE'S A DIFFERENT BEAAST NOWWWWWW scylla.... oho the harmony. mutiny ok the opening i fw but why tf is eurylochus upset about the six men sacrifice when he was the one who suggested with circe that they just leave the men behind. also luck runs out callback i love my reprises why is helios lowk brushed over like i wouldve expected odysseus or eurylochus to talk about heyyy dont anger the gods like we did before thunder bringer slay. we already know. the bumping beat from the horse and the infant we knowwww. it's a little funny mutiny is RIGHT before thunder bringer like. hey crew you just stabbed him you should be a little less surprised he chooses to sacrifice yall. not even chosen. not even zeus was surprised by odysseus' immediate reaction
MISC. THOUGHTS
talked to a few friends while making this, wrote the sentence "i can feel the old greek mythology elementary/middle school neurons firing up again" because i CAN feel them god and it's also like watching musical animatics after school except im not 13 and deeply lonely this time. decided to write a fic of what happens between each saga and in a bit of wondering for that decided to look up the actual story of the odyssey (shmoop is not perfect but it is decent) and wow that's a lot of changes made from the original that contribute to a well-characterized musical! god it's such a good time. is this what dracula daily people felt like, reliving an old (relative to present) story and relishing in the Themes?
FAV SONG(S) FROM EACH SAGA
the horse and the infant
survive, remember them
ruthlessness
done for
no longer you (the OPPOSITE of that undertale quote)
different beast, thunder bringer
TLDR
excited for wisdom saga !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I know I already rambled about this but
Hopefully, that is the right call to make. If not, Warriors can be the one to take charge of the hero that’s apparently his kid, and the one that everyone knows looks up to him so much. Twilight has no authority over either of them anyways, and with his stance in the group still shaky after all the secret keeping and whatnot, he doubts that will change soon. Granted, he feels a bit uneasy not handling it himself, but- but he’s also quite eager to enjoy the company of the smithy without the younger heroes, and the warm presence of their skyloftian, waving to them as they enter camp again, is an added bonus.
I adore the way you write insecurity and would love the DvD extra's for this yet to be posted bit! ;3
When you mentioned wanting to talk about a bit from the drafts, I was worried it might be something I genuinely couldn't post without spoiling stuff, but this? Girl, we got this!
So, for I guess a bit of review/context, the group has split up to cover a distance and Wind is Doing Crap that is unspecified and Twilight's big brother senses say for him to go check it out, but also, he really, really wants to not be held responsible for whatever is happening. As you know, Nan, the chapters leading up to this point feature some harsh conversations that led to a few pointed words from the captain regarding secret keeping/trusting others. Twilight here hasn't had time to really gauge how the others actually feel about his shifting and the fact that doing so has let him learn things they may or may not have actually wanted Twilight, not Wolfie, to know.
He's uncertain now, as you said, of what would or wouldn't be welcome, and has no wish to encroach on space he feels isn't his. His referral to Wind as "the hero that's apparently his (Warriors') kid". If Wind i sup to something, he doesn't want to overstep bounds and take Warriors' role when he's quite aware that the man is having trouble trusting him right now, but also going through it.
Legend throwing their failures in their faces a couple chapters previous isn't helping this thought process either.
Twilight wants to be there, but he's also going through crap, so this is him fighting ihmself, if only for a moment, to take time to focus on his own issues, arguing that he's allowed to and finding excuses because, good big brotehr though he is, being a big sibling is hard. Sometimes you want to let that responsibility slide to someone else, to wash your hands of a matter and say "I can't change this" and instead focus on something you can actually effect. Twilight here is tired, overwhelmed, and still healing. He's worried about Time, he's worried about Wild, he's worried in general, and right now he needs time to regroup.
Twilight wants an excuse to say "not my problem" but also feels like shit for not being the responsible brother he's supposed to be and dealing with the potential problem.
He wants to go talk with Four and Sky. He wants to consult with two heroes he sees as his equals, not as little siblings or mentors, and he wants to talk to people who will hear him out, not push him away like Wild and Legend are doing, not react poorly as Time and Warriors are (for unrelated reasons, but he doesn't know that), just...listen. Honestly, he likes talking to them and he wants very much to do so, he just has to first excuse himself, mentally, from the responsibility of keeping everyone else out of trouble.
Poor boy is just super confused, out of his depth, and lost right now T-T

Lemme tell you, that title scared the sh*t outta me. Seriously, what the heck!?
Anyway, here it is. The end of the trilogy. We I picked up this book my first thought was, ‘Oh, a third case. A missing girl? A haunted house?’. I was wrong on both accounts.
Remember how in the last book we were reintroduced to old characters? Well, forget old characters. We’re going all the way back to the cold case that was solved back in the first book. That’s right people, Holly wasn’t done yet. And if you thought this book was gonna be bloody, you ain’t seen nothing yet.
The protagonist had just left after visiting a suspect in a rape case. Yeah, did not enjoy that. When it feels like that the justice system is a lost cause, there’s only one thing you gotta do: DIY (Do it Yourself)
Now in reality folks, you gotta tell the police if something is wrong. Will they always help? No. But it wouldn’t hurt to try. Cause the truth is, there are dangerous people out there that won’t hesitate to hurt you. And sometimes, you need help in order to avoid them. I’m not trying to scare you, I’m just telling you how life is.
I wanna thank Holly Jackson for giving us this awesome finale to A Good Girls Guide to Murder. If you ever wanna check out these books, you can find them in BAM, Barnes and Noble, Amazon, or any bookstore in general. That’s all for now, until next time, stay on track and stay in the pack.🐺

DLC Review Part 1: Metal Gear Rising Jetstream Sam (With Spoilers)
What? A DLC review BEFORE the main base game? What’s going on?
There is a reason for that! The Jetstream Sam DLC story is the prequel to the main story. So I thought it would make sense for me to talk about Jetstream Sam on this DLC review the most rather than dedicate a whole section to him on the review on the main story.
Plus… I got Metal Gear Rising because I thought it was more worth it than Lollipop Chainsaw Repop. I mean… it’s also a 2013 game, and it did not need a remaster. 🤷🏽‍♀️
So now, this is the official start of the Metal Gear Rising Review Trilogy. In the words of Samuel Rodrigues, aka Jetstream Sam, Let’s dance.
Tumblr media
Gameplay (4.5/5):
Just like when I play as Vergil, I feel powerful when playing as Sam. Even though I’m sucking hard.
Samuel plays very differently from Raiden and is unique. With big pros, there are big cons. And I think it’s a fair trade.
For instance, holding the “Y/Triangle” button will charge up a powerful attack when you successfully fully charge it up, BUT it can and will leave you very vulnerable to any attacks. Another is his taunt, which makes him more unique (because neither Raiden nor Blade Wolf have taunts) which will enrage the enemy, but will make them act reckless and then you can easily slice them up, which makes for a good high risk high reward feature depending on who you are.
Unlike Raiden and Blade Wolf, he can double jump and dash forward in midair.
Like Raiden, he can use Sub-Weapons, like grenades and rocket launchers.
Now here is a personal nitpick of mine: Taunting is impractical in battle, and it’s worse than leaving yourself vulnerable while charging up an attack. Nitpicks aside, Sam’s gameplay is so much fun. In fact, his gameplay is just as fun as Vergil’s from Devil May Cry. I went through the first playthrough without having to use his taunt at all.
The VR missions just like in the base game are designed to test your skills and abilities and best for those wanting a big challenge other than story mode’s hard mode or the most challenging mode.
Story (5/5):
The story lines up nicely with the main story and feels plausible. Armstrong and Monsoon are expecting Jetstream Sam to arrive to attempt to take them out, just like he did a few drug cartel members plus the dude who killed his father (more will be expanded upon in the base game review), and Sam arrives on his motorcycle at Denver, Colorado, and slices two police officers in half after taunting a couple of them.
The first boss is Blade Wolf (Wolfy), where Sam appears to pity Wolf a little even saying that the orders Wolf is given are stupid and tells him (in a mix of sarcasm and genuine advice) to think for himself. After the fight, Sam decides to tell him straight up, that Wolf is being forced to follow these orders. It really shows just how close Wolf got to Sam off-screen after Sam joined the Winds of Destruction.
He also encounters Monsoon and is forced to fight off Metal Gear Ray with that epic Rules of Nature song playing and then Sam explains himself further, saying that he is there to take out people like the people involved in Desperado. But that is jumping ahead a little.
Sam, with the player knowing Sam’s true motivations and intentions (not me still accidentally making a Vergil joke lol), goes up and beats the final boss of Sam’s storyline, Armstrong. Collective Consciousness plays as Sam gets concussed a lot (because I suck, even with Auto Assist Parry lol) and Armstrong disables Sam by stabbing his shoulder to the point where Sam couldn’t even hold his sword anymore. Armstrong then offers Sam a job.
Not seeing any other choice, Sam laughs sadly and agrees to work with Desperado.
Then… the rest of his faith is sealed in the main story.
Jetstream Sam Himself:
Samuel is a man from Brazil who has taken out cartel members and uses a High Frequency version of his late father’s sword which he uses as both a tragic keepsake and his main weapon. He CHOSE to go down this path, and in the case of this storyline, it was for revenge. He wanted to take down evil organizations besides Cartels, like Desperado.
And I’m gonna talk about that a little more, because Kevin’s codec calls on Sam expands on Sam’s background, where his father owned a dojo
This is where I then start making parallels between Sam and Raiden, because Sam is willing to take down evil organizations like Armstrong’s because he believes that Armstrong is just like every evil organization, with Armstrong sitting back in his comfy office, letting innocent people die for his benefit.
Whereas Raiden is looking to take down Desperado through illegal means (just because what Desperado is doing is legal does not make it right), Samuel tries to take down Desperado from the inside out.
When it came down to Armstrong, Samuel also found Armstrong’s reasons for his villainy to be a load of bs and was ready to kill him right then and there. But… you know the rest of the story.
Sam is “offered” the job after getting disabled, and Sam looked defeated when Armstrong offered his hand and the job to be Desperado’s fighters. He is laughing, yes, but laughter sometimes comes from being nervous or in Sam’s case, being overwhelmed with sadness or defeat. He did not have a choice at that point. Plus, if he refused, he was as good as dead either way.
Jumping ahead before the base game review, Jetstream Sam’s theme “The Only Thing I Know For Real” does state at the end of the song, “looking downward from this deadly height, never realizing why I fight.” Sam does die, not fully knowing why he fights towards the end of the main story.
Off screen wise, Wolf does take a liking to Sam and has a positive relationship with him, in contrast to the negative relationship Wolf had with Mistral, which I will expand upon my Blade Wolf centered review.
But Sam in my opinion is one of the best written rival characters in gaming right next to Shadow the Hedgehog and Vergil. Those three are who I think of as the best rival characters in all of fiction.
As a character, Samuel Rodrigues is one of my favorite characters in Metal Gear Rising next to Raiden himself and Blade Wolf. He gets a 5 out of 5 in terms of character.
Overall?:
This DLC is the best addition to the game, and it shows more of Sam’s character from HIS perspective. When playing from Raiden’s perspective in the base game, Raiden and at first the player themselves cannot get a good read on Sam’s motivations and why he’s doing what he’s doing.
Metal Gear Rising is available on Steam. As of this post, it’s 40% off, so instead of spending $30 on it, you would instead spend $18, either way, I think it’s worth it. I mean, $30 for a 2013 game is already better than remastering said 2013 title that ran on the same consoles Metal Gear Rising ran on (like the PS3) and selling it for $45 or $60.
My expectations for Blade Wolf are high after playing Sam’s story.

this is not to single anyone out, but i have a lot of new followers, and i would just love for you all to know... the search function on my blog is operational. if you search for epic the musical, you will find that i have dabbled in it. it is slightly annoying to be asked over and over whether i've heard of it, even by lovely, enthusiastic, friendly people.
i have another reason for not answering those questions, which is that when someone is being enthusiastic and friendly to me, i don't want to be mean to them. but if i'm going to speak from my heart as an odyssey lover, i don't think epic the musical is that good. it doesn't especially interest me as a standalone piece, but i also don't find it provides much insight on, or compelling points of comparison with, homer's odyssey. i'm glad you're all having a good time! please stop asking me about it.
bullet point review below the cut, for those who are more curious about my opinions.
things i like about epic:
astyanax's murder doesn't get brought up a lot in stories that are sympathetic to odysseus. it's optional when adapting the odyssey or the iliad, but i am definitely of the opinion that odysseus did it, and even if he didn't, he convinced the other greek leaders that it needed to be done.
the athena/odysseus duets.
i found the reframing of polyphemus' blinding compelling, where he's doing the same thing he does in the odyssey for a different reason. i also liked that the audience doesn't learn his name until he reveals it to polyphemus. that's a neat touch.
earwormy as hell.
the fanart! i saw odysseus fanart maybe 3 times a year before the troy saga dropped. i'll take that trade (for my sanity when i try to navigate the tags).
jorge seems to be invested in odysseus/penelope, which is like the bare minimum to hold my attention, but still.
anyhow jorge seems charming; all his videos and interactions with fans seem nothing but excited about what everyone can contribute. commissioning wolfy to animate a trailer? widely regarded as a great move.
things i don't like about epic:
as gutsy as i think it is to start with astyanax's murder, the main thing to me is not whether his hands physically threw the baby, but whether he is in some way responsible for it. more than that, astyanax's death isn't divinely mandated: it's a ruthlessly pragmatic preemptive strike against vengeance that the greek leaders are afraid of. it's 100% human. so framing it around zeus, known troy stan, forcing odysseus to do it and he feels so so bad about it ????????
baffling to me to start with a moral conflict about infanticide, and after committing it, odysseus is still like... maybe kindness is brave? maybe i'm not a ruthless person? please be serious. you murdered that baby.
(been talking to @littlesparklight about this but you could have started out with some version of sophocles' ajax, a death caused by the gods that odysseus actually is complicit in when he didn't necessarily want it to happen. i digress.)
don't like the way the fandom talks about astyanax, specifically, as if odysseus raising a kidnapped trojan boy whose people were destroyed and whose mother was sold into slavery in another land is ever going to be a fluffy au and meanwhile odysseus did very much murder that baby, so!
the songs are not... good. like i said, they're earwormy, but that's also because they're repetitive and predictable. the lyrics are distractingly bad at times, not only from a character perspective, but in the sense of using words wrongly or awkwardly to try to fit them into a rhyme scheme.
i like the reframing of the polyphemus episode. not so much the aeolus one. at that point, you have odysseus doing the opposite of what he did in the odyssey for opposite reasons, which makes him a character bearing no resemblance to odysseus at all.
and this happens while other characters (mostly gods) try to drag him kicking and screaming into his actual homeric characterization.
like, odysseus is haunted by the war in the odyssey, but not because he regrets what he's done as a moral injury. he chose violence on purpose. the gods did not force him to be this person. it's a narrative throughline that serves only as a bid to make odysseus more sympathetic.
... and in doing so, strips away his agency — in sacking a city, in lying and obscuring the truth with his crew (his lies are more than a quirk that endears him to athena, they have consequences!) — some might say his personality. i do have sympathy for odysseus, even at his worst moments morally, because i find his character as a whole compelling. you don't need to try to absolve him of these things! they tell you about what kind of person he is! they are evocative (and provocative) already! take them away and he is boring, because he is not choosing to do anything.
the new wave of odysseus fans seem unable to handle homeric odysseus' complicated aspects and character traits, and to a degree i blame this on the musical characterization. it's allowed to be its own thing, certainly, but now i regularly get people arguing about whether he's a good person when all they know is something epic made up and that was never the fucking point, anyway.
are we really going to pretend he didn't have sex with circe and calypso at all
