When they all awaken with no memories, many of the village women find themselves miraculously pregnant. All the children are nearly identical with blond hair, piercing stares and otherworldly mannerisms. These children are powerful and dangerous, this sleepy village has become the village of the dammed....... Released in 1960, Village of The Dammed is fantastically made movie. The plot is intriguing and I love the suspense that slowly builds up during the movie. The children are cold and distant, when provoked or threatened are deeply sinister. The sequences where the children demonstrate their abilities are the best scenes in the movie. You can feel the intensity building as it plays out. Directed by Anglo German director Wolf Rilla. His direction is amazing, he knew how to create a mystery and keep you wanting more. Starring George Sanders and Barbera Shelley as Gordon and Anthea Zellaby. They carry the movie effortlessly. George particularly as he provides the scientific expo whilst maintaining the mystery. Martin Stephen's shines as David the leader of the children. He is sinister yet articulate.
