Jacinter - childhood best friends, starcrossed lovers, royal x loyal guard like dAKJLS:DJFH:L im sorry and you expect me NOT to love them?? ok I kinda get that compared to the other couples they spend quite little time together in their book but like. come on. I didnt reread tlc for a couple years but I thought about these two CONSTANTLY. I love them so much I cant even multiship like winlet is very appealing to me but lowkey I feel bad 😭 like theyve wanted each other for so long I cant bring myself to ship either of them with anyone else. But also I kinda wish jacin was a butch lesbian

Kaider - They're so adorable and silly lol. I feel like they were a very good couple to kick off the series with cause I was rooting for them so quickly. They're the funniest canon ship cause theyre both so sassy and done with everything. I wish we couldve gotten more scenes where they talked shit together

Wolflet - To be completely honest I like this ship a lot less than the previous two but thats not to say I dont like them. Like yes I could never take the alpha talk seriously but they were still very cute. Idk why but I like this ship a LOT better when I imagine Wolf as a woman and they were just two lesbians in love <3 If they were they'd probably be above kaider but in canon yea they're number 3 for me.

Cresswell - The age difference isn't really a factor for me, yes its weird but lowkey I forgot thorne was 20 and cress was 16 while I was reading cress. I like the headcanon that thorne had a fake id to sneak into bars and is actually 18 but forgot and just told everyone he was 20. Even so... they're odd for me. I don't know I guess I just dont like the naive inexperienced girl x experienced guy trope? I liked them a lot more in winter than I did in cress. I think its because the pining was more mutual then. I don't hate them, and I did enjoy some of their moments but out of all the canon ships theyre the weakest for me. I like them better when theyre interacting with other people, like wolf or jacin for cress and cinder or kai for thorne.

This is my soft Jacinter headcanon. A few years after Winter and Jacin get married, the topic of kids naturally arises. Wolflet and Kaider already have kids so people are starting to give the others pointed looks of "so when are you having kids." Cress and Thorne joke that their cats are their kids while Winter and Jacin are pretty on the fence. Winter still isn't completely mentally stable and because her mother died in childbirth, Jacin worries that Winter may have a similar weakness. They both like kids (he only began to after several babysitting sessions with Cinder and Kai's kids) but they agree that they aren't in the right place to become parents at this point.

Jacin works as a doctor who travels from sector to sector on Luna helping the small clinics there. One day he gets an emergency call for a patient. It's a young 7-year-old girl brought in by a social worker. She was taken from an abusive home and lived with her grandmother who had recently died, leaving her without a guardian. She has some health issues and doesn't eat very well so Jacin takes her on as a patient for several months while she's in the foster system. He becomes frustrated that such a young child has already suffered so much. It takes her a long time to warm up to him, and eventually she starts revealing small details about herself.

One day her social worker picks her up from school and takes her straight to the clinic. She's sobbing inconsolably and won't tell anyone why. Jacin can't get anything out of her, so he takes her to the break room where Winter has stopped by for lunch. They make her a hot chocolate and--because she's a reluctant eater--he goes to buy the biscuits that she likes. In this time, she and Winter talk and of course Winter falls in love with the girl, whose situation reminds her so much of her dear cousin Selene's childhood. The girl opens up to Winter and reveals that she is being bullied at school and feels unlovable, having been shifted from one foster home to another.

After this, Jacin starts to make some progress with her. The girl requests that Winter be at all her appointments. Even with some improvement, it's clear that this girl needs a permanent, safe home environment. So when her foster family are no longer able to accommodate her, Winter and Jacin apply to become her foster parents without hesitation. Winter's worries about her own mental health gradually recedes, as several months prove that she is component enough to care for a child.

At age 9, after a long legal process and some setbacks, she is officially adopted as a Hayle-Clay. She gets to meet her new cousins--Kai and Cinder's kids. Funnily enough, she has Asian heritage so she actually looks biologically related to them. And when she is 12, Winter and Jacin have a biological child and their daughter is thrilled to become a sister.

i have this headcanon for wolflet that whenever ppl ask about their relationship, wolf just gives the unfiltered truth to the point it’s oversharing while scarlet just gives the simplest answer.

For example:

Some random person: “where did you guys meet?”

scarlet: oh! in a restaurant-

wolf: i was sent on a mission to kidnap her grandmother because she had some relation to princess selene and they wanted scarlet in order to get her grandmother to confess where princess selene was so i stalked her until we ran into each other in some bar as part of my mission.

I just realized I haven’t done any TLC headcanons-

So I’m doing those now

Cresswell: (Yes I'm starting with them) Thorne gets it into his head that Cress needs to have the feeling of being tall, so he resolves to hoist her up onto his shoulders for a day. Cress laughs and Thorne ends up lowering Cress down after twenty minutes. Cress jokingly says that he isn't strong enough to hold her, but Thorne replies very seriously that he can't kiss Cress if she's up on his shoulders. They end up sharing a passionate one and a milkshake after that.

Jacinter: Remember that cow Winter wanted to milk back in Stars Above? Well, Jacin ends up taking her request seriously and takes her to a farm while they're on an ambassidorial trip. It turns out Jacin is terrified of chickens (don't ask) and Winter holds his hand the whole time so he doesn't freeze up and run away.

Wolflet: Not much of a hc here, just that the ship name sounds like something they'd call their kids. A llitter of baby wolflets.

Kaider: Kai knows how tense Cinder gets with the whole ruling the country thing, so with the help of Torin and Iko, he sneaks down to the palace celler every night and starts moving things in to make a workshop for CInder. He then holds an emergency press conference to say that the empress will be occasionally taking mechanic jobs so that Cinder can become more comfortable in her role as empress.

And bonus, Kinko: Iko doesn't age, at all, being an escort-droid. Well, this is no fun when Kinney starts to age, and so Cress and Cinder are commisioned to create a technology that will allow her to age alongside him (it's the future, this could happen). Kinney is touched by this gesture, even if he doesn't show it.

jacin was purposely luxurious in using the rampion’s supplies. maybe because it had been a while before he could be mean to his peers without punishment, so he took this chance to mess with cinder. because he’s a little bitch.

iko and cress were very close. their friendship started when iko cut her hair and cress confessed to iko about her feelings for thorne. i have no idea if iko’s mental age is fourteen or forty five, but i think it’d be a fun experience for her to just be a girl and have fun. and cress totally did weird technology programming stuff to her. sounds creepy but. oh well.

kaider had unsatisfactory sex for the first time on the rampion and felt a little embarrassed about it for a while, but they eventually powered through it and kept their relationship strong.

wolf wanted to grow a beard, like a huge one, but felt that it would only bring attention to the fact that he’s TWENTY THREE YEARS OLD, so reluctantly kept it clean shaven. he and thorne were definitely beard buddies after the war though.

THORNE AND WOLF ARE BROTHERS OK. wolf is like the older male figure that thorne looked up to, and thorne is wolf’s chance at another younger brother. their contrast between abused lunar soldier and rich, sheltered american really seals the deal for a bomb dynamic. and wolf would totally redefine the idea of masculinity for thorne, really make him get rid of all that toxic shit. he also calls thorne carswell to piss them off. no this is not a carswolf post but could be.

scarlet was either bra-less or only wearing a bra on the rampion. not in a sexual way but in a farm girl way.

kaider - draws on cinder’s prosthetic hand and leg all the time. i don't make the rules. when kissing cinder rips his clothes sometimes bc that damn hand is too strong 😞💔 steals kai’s clothes, not to be cute, but because they genuinely fit her and are actually functional. kai gets excited whenever he smells motor oil. cin has better tolerance for alcohol than kai so often drives him home, along with the rest of the crew (designated driver alert)!!!!! 

wolflet - wolf be knocking over shit in the kitchen bc he’s just too big :( also the scene where wolf breaks into the farm happens. it happens in every AU in some variation. i don't make the rules. wolf is himbo but also complete virg. scarlet is mommy gf. what else can i say. wolf LOVES her freckles so much its not even funny he gave a name for each and every one of them. he named the one t the bridge of her nose after maha because he’s kind of weir....d........

I dont know if it's just me but I always imagined when Cinder wanted children she would adopt a kid who was a cyborg like her and was unwanted because of it. She would be able to understand what they were going because she knows what it feels like to be unloved for things she cant control so even as their bond slowly grows as they are first wary of her because of her status and history, when they finally do have that connection it's the purest form of it. Kai would be like the sweetest dad ever as we already know he has a certain skill with showing understanding through any situation or appearance. Their kid would be thrown into the world of politics with their father and mother being the emperor and empress of the country and they would most definitely have the money to provide this kid who deserves more than what's been given to them. Kai definitely would spoil them and Cinder would call him out for it all the time but he just wouldn't be able to help himself. Not only would they have the greatest parents but also the coolest aunts and uncles a kid could have. Uncle Thorne would randomly drop by and take them on rides in his spaceship to places in America just for the heck of it, much to the annoyance of Cinder, and when Cinder and Kai have overseas meetings where they have to leave the country for a while, they stay with Scarlet and Wolf on their farm where they would learn work ethic and also become great friends with Wolflets kids, Iko would always be around and be a good friend as well as their personal stylist as she randomly orders cute clothes she finds online and takes part in spoiling them as well, Cress would play strategy games with them and beat them every time but would always be nice about it, Winter and Jacin would visit the palace all the time and they would absolutely adore Winter because she is always up for playing with them or telling them stories of wolves and palaces and magic. Jacin seems to show his soft side around kids and always has good advice. This kid would go from being unloved, unwanted, and uncared for to having so many people in their life to support them and love them just as it had been with Cinder. Just imagine.

ALRIGHT so like after rereading the stars above epilouge i’ve been reminded of one of my like biggest head cannon question and it’s when how does kaider announce to their friends they’re engaged? AND I FEEL LIKE YOU WOULD KNOW SO I PUR MY TRUST IN YOU BITCH 🫶🫶

Ugh, I struggle with scenes like these! It's the same reason I never write weddings or proposals for characters: I'm content to leave those things as unknowns because if I try to boil it down to one idea I always feel it's too important a moment to be captured. So in this case, I think it could go so many ways!

I do love a simple just telling their friends over dinner. Say they all reunite again a few months after Wolflet's wedding. Everyone yelling over the top of each other, arguing to pass the bread rolls, 'stop hogging the salad' and Thorne trying to steal Jacin's seat. Cinder and Kai stand up, waiting for the chaos to subside. It doesn't, so Kai shouts, "hey! listen!" They all fall silent. Kai and Cinder smile giddily, link hands and announce, "we're engaged!" And of course chaos breaks out. Good this time.

Another version is a little more crack.

Cinder just starts wearing the engagement ring around her friends. But since they are all spread out over the galaxy, it's a gradual process. Kaider have fun with this. Once their friends notice, they ask them to stay quiet to see how long it takes for the others. Cinder told Iko personally, so she's bursting at the seams but restrains herself. Scarlet notices first and is of course ecstatic. Wolf doesn't notice the ring but does notice Scarlet's high heart rate as she struggles not to blab to him. He keeps asking if she's okay, then she points at Cinder, and he eventually figures it out. "Oh," he says finally. "Oh?!" Scarlet yells, "how did you not notice?" Wolf admits that he doesn't pay much attention to things other than her. Winter is next. She says something like "oh dear cousin, every little soldier in my frozen palette manufacturing plant is rejoicing at this news." And Cinder just has the lady processing maths face and asks, "so you're...happy for us?" Cress doesn't notice. Thorne does and, after whooping and congratulating them, immediately inspects the ring and starts guessing how much it would sell for on the black market. Cinder doesn't let him near it after that. Cress looks on--confused--and whispers to Kai, "is the ring important?" Kai smirks and replies, "well I suppose, but I hope she didn't say yes only for the ring." Then comes the, "wait, did you propose?" and the squealing. With her sheltered upbringing, Cress forgot which hand the wedding ring is on and didn't pay attention to it. So then all that's left is Jacin. He didn't notice when Winter did, and he didn't notice when they were all together for dinner on Luna. He doesn't notice at the peace ball, or Winter's diplomatic mission to the Commonwealth, or even when they are all playing cards and the ring is adamantly on the display. Months pass and everyone is frustrated waiting for this guy to get a clue. Meanwhile, Thorne likes to make a game out of it: "Cinder is engaged...in a very serious work meeting." "Can you believe Kai is moving onto his second wife already? At his age?" Winter is the most frustrated of all because she can't speak of wedding plans with the one person she speaks to the most. So one day she pulls up a photo of Cinder and Kai, hand visible, and asks, "do you notice anything different about them, Jacin?" Jacin snorts and says, "yeah, Kai looks stupid in those pink sunglasses." "No, they're engaged!" Anyway Jacin knew the whole time. He just never acknowledged it because he never cared. At least, that's what everyone else thinks. But Jacin was having lots of fun with it.

As I said I just can't settle on anything definite! So I want to hear everyone's headcanons for it!

easter headcanons

the whole crew celebrates easter at new beijing palace

a lot of the crew (cinder, cress, ze’ev) had rough childhoods and didn’t grow up with very many holidays, so they celebrate them as adults together

scarlet, kai, and thorne are usually in charge of planning the festivities since they actually know what to do, and they give jobs to people

jacin and winter are in charge of boiling eggs and preparing dye

cress puts chocolate inside of eggs while cinder sorts them for each person

iko coordinates their outfits (this year they have matching shirts with bunnies on them)

ze’ev helps scarlet prepare the meal, which consists of a traditional seder meal and scarlet’s famous chocolate buttercream cake

they dye several dozen eggs

iko found a bunch of weird tools that make really cool designs on the egg shells

jacin is surprisingly artistic, and everybody agrees his eggs are probably the prettiest

winter, cress and thorne have a small food fight with the boiled eggs and dye, and the whole kitchen smells very strongly of vinegar afterwards

ze’ev struggles with dying the eggs

“scarlet why are they so small?” 

he keeps accidentally crushing them or dropping them in the dye bowl

cinder gives him some of her sharpies (they’re more accurate and the dye doesn’t get in her prosthesis

torin volunteered to hide the eggs around the palace, so him and the royal staff hide them and their easter baskets

they eggs also have clues inside that lead them to their basket, but torin made it really hard

kai, cinder and iko end up helping everybody out since they know the palace so well

thorne’s basket is in the prison and kai thinks it’s hilarious

for dinner, they observe passover, since ze’ev’s jewish 

ze’ev can remember as a small child celebrating the jewish holidays before all earthen holidays were banned by levana. it’s mainly a traditional comfort than a belief

for dessert, they eat fantastic cake out in the royal gardens

cress and winter build a small wreath with the broken flowers, and they set it up in the main palace lobby

the rest of the evening is spent laughing and eating chocolate

LUNAR CHRONICLES CHARACTER HEAD CANNONS

  Hello my lovelies!! 

I am back in a Lunar Chronicles mood so I thought I would do something I’ve been wanting to do for a while and that is character head cannons!

More specifically head cannons about how I pictured their appearance in my head.

The process was simple. If I knew of a person who fit the description of the characters and how I view them in my head (which match up) I got pictures of that person. If I couldn’t I just went through google images until I found one I someone I liked.

These are not people I think should necessarily play the characters if the books are ever made into a movie, simply a close representation of how I picture the main characters in this wonderful series. 

All right! Let’s get started. 

CINDER:

Why I chose this person:

-Mixed race (half Asian half white, but Cinder could be something else)

-Dark hair and eyes

-Is very slim

-Because she’s Phillipa Soo and I adore Phillipa Soo and aspire to be her.

Why I chose this person:

- Asian (which is kind of sad I have to say that I figured it was obvious), spefically Japanese and since Kai is a Japanese name I went with that. 

-Thin-all though maybe a little to small but that could just be the way the outfits make him look. 

-A grate smile that I could see millions of girls falling for. 

-Capable of sassing the heck of out anyone-seriously look him up it’s so amusing.

SCARLET

Why I chose this person:

-Curly red hair.

-Round face and plump lips. 

-Curvy (all though it’s up to debate whether Scarlet should be curvier)

-Has a certain amazing quality about her eyes, full of strength and determination. 

WOLF

Why I chose this person:

-Dark messy hair

-Olive Skin

-Is an Israeli actor and Marissa Meyer stated Wolf is of Jewish decent.

-Has the right amount of intensity in his eyes-that unfortunately aren’t green. 

THRONE:

Why I chose this person :

-generically handsome.

-Tall

-Brownish blond hair (in actuality his hair should be browner)

-Amazing blue eyes

-Smile that could take your breath away

-Air of confidence 

CRESS:

Why I chose this person:

-blond hair 

-beautiful blue eyes

-sweet, pretty face

-air of naivety and innocence 

-actual actress is way to tall but otherwise a close fit.

WINTER:

Why I chose this person: 

-Beautiful curls

-Doll like face with a lovely smile

-Like Cress, an innocence about her and something very youthful and vibrant

-Absolutely stunning dark skin.

JASON

-Right hair style and length-could be blonder 

-strong features

-Lovely blue eyes

-Perfect amount of intensity and brooding.

-Extremely serious.

IKO:

Why I chose this person-

-Braids, gotta love those braids.

-Very pretty face

-Golden skin color

-Tall

-Very feminine, but you can tell there’s a lot of strength.

LEVANNA:

 Why I chose this person:

-Auburn hair-Very pale skin

-Strikingly Beautiful

-Stoic look about her

-Certain kind of coldness.
