100 Dragons 100 Days: Silk/Hive (Clearwing, monk) (this design has been claimed!)
#wof#wings of fire#100dragons100days#wof oc#hybrid#named after the snowberry clearwing (a moth whose pattern and flight style mimic those of a bumblebee)#clearwing would probably be a popular silkwing name now that i think about it#sounds like clearsight

Some WoF headcanons for my au, The Unknown Continent. Might do another soon maybe
- NightWing royalty has twisted horns
- The NightWings never had a Darkstalker-level threat and thus never left their peninsula. However, their territory stretches out further from the claw of Pyrrhia
- Queen Shadowkiller of the NightWings will be one of the only NightWing queens to die of old age due to her putting her tribe’s needs over her own. That, and because her nieces (her eldest son’s daughters) knew they were too small to challenge her even in adulthood and simply had to wait for her to die
- Queen Eira of the IceWings is incredibly paranoid and has undoubtedly caused a few perceived threats to go missing. She has IceWing nobility on lock. Her eldest daughter, Princess Beluga, is far more laid back and will be a welcomed change once she becomes queen
- The NightWings and the SkyWings warred over something and the NightWings won
- Like the SeaWings, all the dragon tribes of Coleo (except for the immigrant BeetleWings) have bioluminescent markings. However, they communicate mood as opposed to being a complex language of its own
- CloudWing royalty is signified by colored jade necklaces with cloud motifs. Only royalty has green jade necklaces because green jade is incredibly rare in the Silver Tundra, where they live
- SunWings have learned to make glass from sand, and then learned to make pigmented glass. The Sun Kingdom is known for its many multicolored lanterns and stained glass windows, which makes its towns and cities (and especially the Sun Palace) quite the sight at night
- CloudWings, like electric eels, can produce an electric current throughout their bodies. They mine conductive metal and have learned to use the metal in war, or to subdue pesky intruders. Their currents can kill if powerful enough, or if the victim has a weak heart. However, as each CloudWing dragonet receives extensive training to control this current, a normal CloudWing electric attack will only stun an opponent. Due to this current all CloudWing eyes glow, or at least seem to flicker
- A CloudWing with too much electricity is called a stormscale. If not given a conductor (in the form of metal accessories or a pole) they can easily shock another dragon to death, even a CloudWing, without trying. Lightning fizzles on their scales, their eyes will have a stronger glow, and everything they touch will have jagged burn marks
- The LeafWings, HiveWings, and BeetleWings were not originally native to Pantala. As they struggled to clear out the Hivemind, a group of BeetleWings lost their nerve and left Pantala in search of better lands. Although many died along the way, they landed in Coleo and made their home in the Horn Mountains, where they still live thousands of years later
- BeetleWings represent spiders, moths, and butterflies. They can have black coloration
- The PetalWings have a very precise seasonal clock. They know on instinct when they should plant and which crop they should plant. Their gardens and produce are legendary
- In Pantala, there is a town of BeetleWings with clear wings. They are called ClearWings. Victims of a harmless mutation, the ClearWings have somewhat of an elitist view towards themselves and will only mate with other ClearWings, especially if they are of the town. Dragonets with colored wings are given to BeetleWings in a neighboring town to raise, though some colored-winged BeetleWings are allowed to stay in the town so long as they do not take a mate. There are ClearWings in Coleo too, but they did not segregate themselves (though there is a town with a concentrated population of ClearWings)
- Both Pantalan and Colean BeetleWings (PB and CB) raise honeybees and other insects for food. However, CBs have allowed meat into their diet, such as fish, birds, frogs, small animals, and traded meat
- Coleo is a very scientific continent, with its tribes paying close attention to celestial bodies to plan their festivities, their agricultural lives, and simply for fun
- The SunWings have sun dials
- The GrassWings, who live in the center of Coleo and border nearly all the tribes, are prominent flutists and invented wind chimes

I’m so sorry, in all honesty I just wanted to design some LeafWings. They were originally adopts but I got self conscious about how scruffy they are lol
I know Clearwing at least is connected to Blackjacket and Calyptra’s story somehow. Once I’ve finished the third arc and brainstormed a bit I’ll let you know 👍👍
#bog talks#this is a very kind ask I’m sorry I don’t have a satisfactory answer#side note woulj anyone be interested in wof custom designs#because I love designing dragons based on name/concept#Clearwing
