Today's dragons are another scene from wof book 6!! Kinkajou imitating Moon's thousand-yard stare on the way to the prey center and Moon laughing at it.

It's amazing how many more ideas you have when you are actually reading the books. Also I wanted an excuse to draw more flying dragons and hey!! They actually were flying in this scene!!!

Wow I need to reread Moon Rising, I feel like my dislike of Moon in that book (and the 2nd arc in general) was fueled by my preteen mind not liking bc she had awesome powers?? Like she’s able to read minds and see the future and tiny me was like 🤬🤬NO🤬🤬I don’t LIKE HER because she has COOL POWERS

so peril basically spent her entire life being treated like a monster for a flaw she had no control over by everyone but scarlet, who was manipulating her into being her personal killing machine and never questioning her and then she met someone who didn't treat her like a monster, who could even touch her without dying, and of course she became obsessed with him but she was still also obsessed with scarlet because she had spent her entire life being loyal to her and believing her and even though she was aware of the abusive nature of that relationship she couldn't overcome it so easily, especially with everyone else still treating her like a monster and when she was finally able to turn her back to scarlet she was still incredibly obsessed with clay because she was still modelling relationships after the one she had with scarlet and she had never developed normal social skills due to everyone treating her like a monster and so basically peril's story is about how hard it is to overcome severly abusive relationships and form normal healthy relationships with other people after spending your entire life in one

I'm loving how well Mike Holmes captured Winter's personality with his expressions. As well as the expressions in general.

Winter being my favorite character makes this a plus.

Arc 2 could have been PERFECT but from what I remember it got way out of hand imo

Take this with a grain of salt and a mountain of cluelessness btw… going off of what I remember in the book series I haven’t reread it in forever

MoonWatcher was such a peak character in book 5 I loved her so much and I used to associate myself with her because of her personality but then book 6 happened and….. idk it wasn’t the same

It’s not that she became a horrible bland character I think I just lost that connection with her since she sort of became more soulless to me,,,,, the love triangle also kind of bothered me but I moved past it because I love all three characters

Anyways live laugh love arc 2 protags we miss you Carnelian you would have hated Skibidi toilet

I’m the admin here, and I use he/it pronouns. I have been in the fandom for a long, long time, since around arc 1 concluded.

I’m a bit tired of the current echo chamber of Wings of Fire opinions, so I decided to make this account where you can anonymously post any opinion you have held in out of fear of being burned.

1. Do not mention anyone by username in asks if they are under 15 in age or 2k in following to discourage dogpiling of users, especially young and vulnerable members of the fandom. You can refer to someone as “the younger WoF au person”, but calling them by name will have your ask deleted.

2. No threatening people. “I want to kill all Whirlpool fans”, for instance, will not be allowed. Or, "I think X should rot in jail" is also not allowed. "I hope X gets what is coming for them" is, however, allowed.

3. What I post does not truly represent my opinions. This is just an inbox for anonymous confessions. For most asks, I will reply with a "." unless I think it needs further explanation or evidence.

thinking about flame again (as per usual).. genuinely i dont and never will understand wof fans who saw him be bitter and angry and cold and shut off from years of never having a home or real friends and feeling isolated and say "yeah, no, he's evil."

he lived his whole life in the talons, constantly moving and never having any place to tether himself to emotionally. imagine the impact that must have on a literal child. i know i like to headcanon that he and viper and ochre were friends but nothing in the books actually indicates that he found any emotional consolation in ANYONE with the exception being his mother, who probably never even really got to spend much time with him. i dont really remember what exactly the talons did though so idrk. he probably had to witness the horrors of war via the aftermath of battles that he likely saw when traveling, and even though he was shielded from being drafted into the skywing army that still doesnt lessen the emotional impact that that'd have on a fucking kid.

imagine you go through years of that, and finally, one day, some big, majestic, 'allknowing' nightwing shows up and tells you that you're a part of the fabled dragonet prophecy, and you finally have some hope that maybe it was worth the struggle, that you are actually worth something, just to find out that you were nothing but a replacement. and don't even get me started on when he and the other alternates were transferred to the nightwing volcano, where they went without food for DAYS and were forced to fly nonstop to some remote island and for probably the first time in his life, flame met other skywings- just to watch them burn alive in front of him. all while he is STILL A KID.

then the literal NEXT DAY he is forced to fight the other alternates, and winds up with an unimaginably (both physically and emotionally) painful scar that makes him feel like an unlovable, weak, ugly monster. all while he watches a dragon who's essentially his sister die right before his eyes in the lava.

this all makes him wall himself off from other dragons, because he's scared that they'll think he's as weak as he sees himself; it makes him angry and bitter at the world, it makes him hate himself and it eats him up inside. we get a really good insight on this in book 6 when moon reads his mind, where he thinks that he doesn't even deserve his mother's love because of how scarred he his, where he thinks that nobody takes him seriously, where he thinks that he has no friends nor allies.

and then people still have the sense to call him evil because of, not despite, the emotional barriers he has from the turmoil and trauma he's experienced.

I am intensely curious, what do you like about Warrior Cats? I've been seeing it a lot since joining the WoF fandom but have no idea what it's about

!!! okay! hehehe

so! i'm gonna give an overview first!

warriors is written by erin hunter. erin hunter is commonly referred to by the fandom as "the erins" because it's a pen name for a bunch of authors! the reason you're seeing so much of it in the WoF fandom is bc Tui is one of the Erins!

i really like warriors bc kitties are just super fun to draw! some of the characters are really intruiging (cough cough jaypaw.. he's a fan favorite lol) and it has really neat lore!

however there are like 8 arcs with 6 books each + 20 extra-long special editions + 12 short stories + a bunch of graphic novels that have their own lore and storylines that are adjacent to the main books. it's kind of intimidating to go into lol

also the disability rep is just as bad as wof if not worse! so! yeah.

I FINALLY finished her. This is Tiger, a Hivewing, and my third wings of fire OC! She was surprisingly hard to draw and get right.

The background isn’t my best work, but I tried.

As per usual, backstory, lore, abilities, and the no background version and the outline will be under the cut. There will also be the sheet I used for the generation method for her.

As a fierce, often bloodthirsty hivewing, Tiger served as a guard under Queen Wasp. She was high ranking, often working as Queen Wasp’s personal guard, or on dealing with more ‘problematic’ dragons. She was valued not only for her bloodthirsty attitude and wrist and tail stingers, but also for her strength and poised mannerisms. She would use her stingers vigorously and happily, and was not afraid of injury. Tiger hatched with a splatter of red scales around her mouth, making it hard to tell if it was blood or just her markings on her snout from a distance. Because of her high rank within the Hive, she would often wear jewelry, though not much, and nothing that got in the way of her job. She would occasionally wear bejeweled bands on her tail, and often a band on one of her horns, occasionally hanging things from the chain like hanging part, sometimes even bits from other dragons as both a ‘trophy’ from a job well done and a warning to other dragons. One piece of jewelry she rarely was seen without was her necklace, with what looks like the tooth or claw of a dragon, though she refuses to elaborate on where it came from. Some dragons think it was one of her own teeth, while others say it was from the first dragon she fought as a guard. Others say it was a barb she pulled, and now uses as a weapon. Nobody really knows though.

Less fleshed out personality than some of my others, and not much backstory, but I think it is good. She was around before the third arc, and I don’t think she would still be. Tiger has the wrist/ankle stingers and the tail stinger that some Hivewings have. Also, fun little headcanon based off some vaguely remembered scenes in the book, I headcanon that Hivewings can almost always, if not always, retract their stingers!

As promised, the no background version and the outline. The outline is sort of incomplete, so sorry about that.

And finally, as I said, the generation sheet. I didn’t come up with this, and credit to HoneyBeest, the creator of this generation method! It’s really fun and helpful, especially with art block.

The ages in wof fucking suck man like...Bumblebee Auklet and Moon go from literal newborn to speaking in ~30 minutes

Anemone is a 2yo and reads as like 10-12 in book 2 and then she's like...a full on teen in arc 2 after a 6 month timeskip? Shit goes crazy they're all like...effectively 15 or so by age 3 I hate this series I love this series I'm burning this series at the stake

Reasons why you should read… Wings of Fire!!

Random LONG-ASS post but idc because this has been my favorite book series since 3rd grade and I still HEAVILY fixate on it - for anyone interested (after I explain ofc) These books are by Tui T. Sutherland and are available in audiobook, paperback, hardcover, and Kindle I think.
