Reading this book was a mixture of “YESSS SCORCHING LORE” “what a disappointment, this confuses me” and nostalgia

Spoilers for WoF book 15 for today's dragons!! I had this idea a bit ago but wasn't sure how to go about it till recently.

So have Freedom, Luna and Dusky, right at the end of it. One of the scenes that hit me real close to home.

Writing an aromantic character and I'll sometimes get remarks like "oh is he aroace?" and like,,you're half right. He's aromantic. Not asexual, but aromantic. Maybe it'll help if you try to understand that being aro and being ace are two different things

i finished the next series and hAd to make more human dragonets. when i say im obsessed i mean that i held out for max a week after finishing quibli’s book before rereading both series. someone remind me to post my headcanons about all of them bc let me tell you i have thoughts and ideas.

PIKE!!! honestly I love this guy, he feels like an actual character until the other students who were mentioned briefly or not even at all. Also since in the gns it shows him getting pushed down by a fallen tree in the attack, he has dendrophobia. Not that he's scared of specifically trees themselves but rather them falling, which is why he doesn't go outside much.

cottonmouth wof is the character ever. he is a 5000+ years old man. he's been fused with a plant and a dragonet this entire time. he became the weed. he'd been worshipped by an entire village for centuries, if not more, and discovered BoE and made use of its effects. despite this, he is the ultimate cringefail and is not taken seriously by anyone, including tui. he made up a wall in his mind just so he could punch it. he canonically swore and said 'hee hee'. he caused the scorching. first thing he did when luna entered the mindspace was showing her his villain backstory. and it wasn't the first time he did this, too. he is so cringe he goes back into being based. his name is fucking cottonmouth.

Not sure if dislike is the right word, but im not the biggest fan of book 15, big surprise, i know, but like... For a book tittled 'the flames of hope' i was expecting some action

When i finally managed to get my hands on book 15 and began reading i was legit yelling at the page for Luna to shoot the Silkwing being controled by Wasp, it was a sleeping dart, the Silkwing would have been fine, if she shot them, there was no way of the Hivewings finding the others that were invisible. Im sure it would take a while for another Silkwing to come over and try to detect them so they could have just flown away

And then we get to where the Breath of Evil was, i was expecting for Luna to use her silk and burn the plant entirely, since, yknow, whats gonna control her? The ashes? But nope, she was stuck on a mind room with a child and two zombies for... What 10+ chapters?

Oh and also Wasp is just one tapped by rainwing venom, which... Cmon just give Luna the kill
