belos headcanons part 2 bc i still can't bring myself to draw

he looks good on paintings and reasonably fine on video, but you will NEVER find a photo of him that doesn't look like cryptid footage.

huge gossiper

can be sneaky as hell when he wants to. loves appearing in random places and scaring people when bored.

the only things he'd been eating for the past few decades are palismen and boiling isles' equivalent of energy drinks

there was a period where he was obsessed with finding an angel after learning that all of humanity's mythical creatures come from the demon realm. also a bit of faith crisis

may or may not have had an encounter with the demon hunters while in his cursed form

no one can understand his handwriting except collector and kikimora. hunter gets some of it, but mostly relies on context n other stuff

high pain tolerance

do NOT give him spicy food, he'll explode

intentionally nerfed the oracle coven, banning and restricting use of many spells, so his plans wouldn't be found out.

not a fan of bright lights. prefers having torches as main source of light in his castle. for a more menacing atmosphere, obviously.

I do think that while belos believes he's superior to witches he considers himself lower than a human for being 'tainted' w magic n other sinful practices. He also believed that destroying the boiling isles would make up for that, but since he failed...

he would be good at programming

belos be like 'there's nothing wrong with me, it's just the curse' and the curse is also an undiagnosed mental illness

seems like the type to randomly drop an insane story from his past and never elaborate

goes limp whenever he's picked up. he never stopped doing this since childhood. hobody knows, however, since, you know. emperor and stuff.

have a really hard time drawing rn, so here's an assortment of Belos headcanons of varying importance

horrilbly allergic to apples, shrimps and honey. forgot about the first one, never tried the others.

has something against muscular women, short people and gingers.

unnerved by clowns, and that's why there were no jesters in his castle (other than collector)

can pick locks, both with and without magic. not exactly proud of this fact.

was a bug kid, mostly favoring worms and roaches. never liked bees, though.

had a pet stag beetle that somehow ended up in the demon realm.

pretty good at cooking

informed people know that human junk will make a great gift for him - especially technology (which he'll disassemble and study in his free time) and books.

soooo many absent-minded doodles of caleb!!!

at first he kept a journal to trick people, but with time found it actually enjoyable. wrote a few more diaries, but burned them afterwards.

he loves wing motif so much....... this man will put wings on ANYTHING. someone stop him (not exactly a hc but i really like that detail about him)

wants to be an angel so bad. a pair of wings would've fixed him.

silent treatment guy. can't stand being ignored himself, though. Bro has horrible abandonment issues and therefore thinks being left alone is the worst punishment ever (it's most effective on Hunter (who doesn't know any better) and Collector (who's afraid of being abandoned as much as belos))

some random facts about Estella under cut

not a great speaker, has a horrible stutter. rarely talks because of that. compensates by building up a mysterious and menacing presence. prefers to wear her mask for this reason.

arrogant as hell, thinks herself above any law. rarely considers opinions of anyone other than her parents. and sometimes Hunter.

often sneaks out of castle - either to accompany Hunter on his missions or to buy elixirs to contain her curse.

can eat food from the boiling isles. and eats a lot. i mean A LOT. and prefers sweet food, too. this may or may not be a side-effect of the curse.

hates wearing pants and any skirts above knee-length. prefers having dark colors with red accents in her clothes.

judges other people base exclusively on their 'worth', whatever that is. probably picked it up from Odalia.

whenever she does talk, it always sounds really official/corporate, as if she's on a business meeting and not doing small talk.

won't pierce her ears. or show them at all, for that matter.

slow to pick up on jokes/references.

belos has a resting bitch face..... odalia has a resting bitch face..... estella somehow combined them both. constantly looks like she hates everyone and will start biting if someone talks to her.

unusually tall for her age.

has really weak natural magic. her gloves are an invention of belos, meant to amplify the power of her spells.

also about the curse: it was split between belos and her bc i think it would be wacky if evelyn cursed not only belos, but his descendants as well, but he literally forgot bc he never thought he'd have children.

she's a backup, either meant to perform the draining spell if belos was to die before the day of unity. so yeah, she's pretty good with glyphs.

wonders if it's possible to make mechanical palismen.

in the old times of fandom there were many different ways to name a ship. if you were feeling lazy you could just do name/name or namexname. you could have your portmanteaus, à la spirk. you could have your homestuck style TwoNames naming convention. you might occasionally get your more creative names like wolfstar. and some fandoms would be absolutely obsessed with initials and brevity; why have erik/christine when you could be E/C? in 2014 we all collectively discovered creative tumblr tagging systems and so every ship on here was called shit like #otp: i am the one who gripped you tight and raised you from perdition. in 2018 every ship was called Shenanigans Bros or a random pair of barely connected nouns that were completely inscrutable to anyone who wasn't in the discord server where somebody made it up. in 2024 we have realised our madness of recent years and attempted to throw it back to the good old days, but we have done so without regard for restoring the diversity of the ecosystem and so every ship has a portmanteau regardless of whether the names actually sound good together. by this i mean i just saw a ship poll that just referred to jesus/judas as JEDUS?????????
