That’s a wrap! It’s the end of an era. What was inspired by @garyvee and his Wine Library TV and a way to have a video diary of my studies grew to being a legitimate wine show with a bad name. It’s morphed into something that literally no one else does on the whole. When you see the last episode, the one with this script that will come out 8/31, 1337 Wine TV will be no more. October 5 is when the new era of Wine World TV (WWTV) will begin. While it will have a lot of similarities with 1337 Wine TV, I plan on it being even more unique compared to everyone else that makes wine videos. It started with @noblevineswine 337 Cabernet Sauvignon and it ends with the same wine. Seemed fitting. Time to import the video and audio files, clean up the set, retire the red table cloth, retire at least the 1337 Wine stickers on the spot bucket, and get some sleep. Got some drone flying to do in the morning. Though I have to wait at least until 9:30 am to do that to adhere to the bottle to throttle rule. Which I ALWAYS do BTW. It’s been a great 11 years. Martha Flores, pioneer of Cuban radio in Miami and host of Radio Mambí, passed away on Saturday morning, just a few hours after presenting what would be the last live broadcast of her show ‘La Noche y You’, on Friday at 8:00 pm. Flores, also known as ‘The Queen of the Night’, was born in Havana, Cuba, graduated as an announcer on the island in 1956, and went into exile in January 1959.

I’ve been wanting to talk about this @capitolfilemag issue since May! For this October Innovators and Influencers issue, I was tasked with coming up with the cover and cover subject and producing the shoot and writing the feature from scratch. I spent a lot of time reading about futurism, which I find fascinating, and diving deeper into AI, machine learning, nano-tech, robotics and all that awesomely geek tastic technology. But I also remembered meeting Jeffrey Wright @jfreewright almost 8 years ago at an event in Washington where him and singer Maxwell were raising money for a project they were working on in Sierra Leone (tnx Aba!). I was a fan of his work in #Basquiat and #anglesinamerica. I recalled how sharp and interesting he was. He grew up in DC, and besides being an incredible actor, he’s also socially and politically active and outspoken. Perfect for Washington! And #Westworld? Love it. I was excited when he agreed to be a part of the issue. I hope you enjoy my article. Even better, I got to reconnect with photographer @douglassonders and producer Nicholas Cambata of @8112studios to create the cover and feature. We crafted some fun work together back in the day with #WLTV, right guys!? Now these two are doing incredible work now in AR/VR. I’m super excited for them. And just very grateful to partner with Doug. He put a great team together in Los Angeles and knock this out with not a lot of prep time. I’m a big fan of his work. It’s so awesome to see all this come together almost five months later. I also enjoyed choosing six of Washington’s leading men of innovation and influence, @johnrobertsfox , @eventsandrewells @mdornic #JoshuaJohnson @the1ashow, #JasonLevien @dcunited and #TomDavidson @everfi as well as interviewing six women founders about some of their most challenging start up moments.
